NAME: Tristan Fel

FACTION: Imperial Knights

RANK: Prospect

SPECIES: Human

AGE: 18

GENDER: Male

HEIGHT: 5'8”

WEIGHT: 142 lbs

EYES: Blue-gray

HAIR: Black, hanging to jaw length in the back, feathered so that the bangs fall just past his eyebrows.

SKIN: Tan-ish Caucasian

CREDITS: 1000; he could acquire more through his family, but he has little love for money.

DISTINGUISHING MARKS: Scar on his right cheek just slightly too curved to be vertical, about two and a half inches in length, received while training.

FORCE SENSITIVE: Yes.

STRENGTH: Average. Tristan is physically fit but not one of exemplary physique; he is able to overpower some but not all opponents, and he is difficult to overpower outright but a truly formidable individual could do so. Trsitan's use of Form III means that it is rare for him to engage in direct contests of strength, and therefore he does not much train it.

DEXTERITY: Above Average. For the same reason that Tristan's strength is not exceptional, that being his use of Form III, Tristan has great dexterity, as is required to effectively utilize the tight, controlled, and very quick motions of Soresu.

CONSTITUTION: Average. Tristan is physically fit but not extraordinarily so. Therefore, he deals with injuries reasonably well, but cannot take large amounts of punishment. It should be noted that his endurance is fairly high, due to the founding principle of Soresu being to outlast the opponent.

INTELLIGENCE: Above Average. There isn't really a whole lot to say here; Tristan is smart and well-educated but no genius. He's a fairly good tactician but is not very analytical. He is perceptive, but requires extended exposure and concentration to counter an enemy's technique. He's disproportionately good at chess and dejarik, and terrible at pazaak; he has no idea why.

WISDOM: Average. Tristan is more regulated than most men his age, tempering his emotions with iron-hard discipline and loyalty. Therefore, he can coolly assess situations and excercise patience when necessary. However, his emotions have been known to get the better of him, particularly when dealing with the Sith, who were responsible for bringing about the exile of his forebears' Empire.

CHARISMA: Slightly Above Average. Tristan is generally sociable and likeable, and is considered a good speaker. He has the capabilities to be an effective leader, but tends to prefer being part of the group due to his desire to feel welcomed.

SKILLS: Tristan has training in several standard skills due to his status as an Imperial Knight, notably piloting (while not exceptional, he knows how to fly a starfighter), leadership, and battle tactics. Tristan is also skilled with diplomacy due to his upbringing, and also with tinkering. While he does not have the skill to say, build a droid, Tristan enjoys making modifications to weapons and armor to increase their performance.

LIGHTSABER/SWORD FORMS:

Form I: Shii-Cho (Moderately Adept; entry-level training plus some use to counteract the weaknesses of Soresu.)

Form III: Soresu (Adept; Tristan's primary and preferred Form.)

STRENGTHS AND WEAKNESSES:

Tristan is a fairly skilled fighter, but his main strength (and his main weakness) is his Soresu-induced focus on defense. When he is able to center himself and focus, he is nigh untouchable, and this often frustrates enemies as they expend great effort trying to hit an opponent who never seems to tire and always manages to block. However, against an aggressive but cautious opponent, the lack of offense backfires completely, as he himself is forced to exert large amounts of strength to deflect a well-coordinated, relentless assault. He is also at a loss against enemies that can physically outlast him. Another two-sided strength/weakness is his past that constantly nags at him. It gives him a desire to prove himself as a Knight and not a Fel, which leads to great self-improvement but sometimes irrational, unwise decision-making. Tristan is also a horomonal teenager whose family was publicly executed. He spends his days mastering discipline to deal with the issue, but underneath the hard, unshakeable shell, roiling emotions seethe just beneath the surface. Crack the shell even a little, and the pressure will do the rest.

GEAR:

Imperial Armor: The standard armor of the Imperial Knights consists of a long-sleeved, high-necked padded black shirt and pants, worn under a tabard-like black tunic; this is usually accompanied by full-finger gloves and field boots, also black. The proper armor is crimson, and worn on top of the scaled shirt. The main piece is a large frontal breastplate, of streamlined design to better afford freedom of movement. This breastplate is sleeveless, and extends just past the collarbone, where it attaches to the shoulderpads, which are generally small and simplistic in design. There is armor on the arms save a pair of gauntlets that cover the back of the hand to the elbow; unlike the rest of the armor, which is resistant to lightsabers, these are actually forged of pure cortosis, capable of shorting out any lightsaber blade that comes into contact with them for up to several minutes. The final piece of the uniform is a black cape attached to the back of the armor, which usually includes a hood. No helmet is included in the uniform.

Lightsaber: Standard-issue Imperial Knight lightsaber, with a white-gray blade and thin cortosis weaving in the handle to prevent cutting by other lightsabers.

SHIP:

Tristan does not own a ship. When he needs one, he uses one of the Imperial fighters, or for less important business a family craft.

DROIDS:

None.

PETS:

Nope.

PERSONALITY:

Tristan positively drowns himself in discipline. He lives it, eats it, breathes it, meditates on it. He is completely devoted to it for one reason: it dulls the pain. Tristan's parents and relatives were executed by the Sith Empire, and he hates them for it. If he had his way, he would annihilate every last Dark Jedi down to the meanest, least powerful practitioner on the most backwater of worlds, exterminating their kind forever. It is with discipline that he tempers this burning rage, for he does not want to succumb to the Dark Side himself, but the emotions are still raw. Until he properly faces and deals with them, he will not be able to escape them, and they will lay always just beneath the surface of his iron-hard facade, waiting to boil over.

Tristan is also extremely lonely. His family was killed, and his status as a Fel meant he never made very many friends. He was always put on a pedestal and seen as untouchable, something glass marked “Fragile, breaks easily." The other Knights often see him as a political pawn, a rich snob who only joined the Knights because he thought he would look good in armor and only got in because of his family. Tristan chose to pursue a career in the Imperial Knights rather than taking up the Fel throne simply because he has no desire to rule. He symbolically left the post to the Knight-Commander, in remembrance of his family, and has sworn never to pursue royal goals; however, this does not deter the rumors, the distrust, the lack of acceptance. For this reason, Tristan works many times harder than any normal soldier, needing desperately to be accepted, to feel as if he belongs. He always has to be the bravest, the best, the nicest, because he has a pre-determined reputation that he has to work against. The one thing he wants more than anything is to be seen as a member of the Knights just like any other, and it is quite possibly the only thing he will never get just by asking.

BIOGRAPHY:

I want to do this biography justice, but I also want to role-play with Tristan badly. Therefore, I'm writing this off as a WIP, which will be written and finished in proper style when I'm not swamped with other characters and his completion is less urgent. I do have his history planned out - it has three sections so far, and I rather like it - but I want to be able to write it properly and well, when I have time to make it as epic as it can be. Sorry.

KILLS:

None.

BOUNTIES COLLECTED:

None.

DUELING RING MATCHES:

None.

GRAND TOURNAMENT MATCHES:

None.

ROLE-PLAYS:

None.

Welcome to the Imperial Knights, Brother!

I like your profile. I think his personality is well thought out, it feels like either you planned this character ahead, or you were smacked in the face with a sudden burst of inspiration.

Whatever the case. I look forward to reading your bio.

Thanks xD It was actually both, like most of my characters. I got a sudden burst of inspiration in the form of a character concept, then because I simply didn't have the time to write him in one sitting, the extra time tempered the ideas. The history will be awesome... when I finish it. Which will be after I finish my Sith.

I love this profile, which is why I hate saying what I must.

The name... It's canon. That's a no no. Unless you got permission to be a Fel, you'll likely have to change it. Sorry.

I asked about it in the Imperial OOC. And basically got ambiguous responses. Plus, there were some Fels in this timeline, they got killed, which is why the Empire stands where it does. It's not like I'm making Mary Sue Skywalker #324235 here >.> Though if the administration has issues with it, it'd've (yes, double contraction) been awesome to know that before spending a bunch of time on the character >.>

Well if no one else says anything, then by all means stick with it cuz I like the way you wrote it. I was just trying to give some potential warning. Good luck!

Most likely it is going to be a no. When I made Knight her last name was Fel and I was asked to change it.

The Imperial Fels are deceased.

Another dynasty replaced the Fels, and that's who the Sith killed.

I thought I had talked to you earlier and you said that the surname "Fel" was okay as long as they weren't trying to claim being related to the Imperial Fels or the last dynasty Imperial family. Maybe I was wrong.

No, what I said was that he would be related (that's where most of his character comes from) he just has no royal aspirations. Like, he's still a Fel, but doesn't really have the status that goes with it anymore, if that makes sense. And if there was another ruling family and it's just a matter of changing his last name to something less cool than Fel, that's not really an issue. But if he can't be a surviving member of the ruling family, I'm basically going to have to make a whole new character and may as well just scrap him. It's too integral to his personality. I mean, without it he would never have developed the loneliness because nothing stopped him from making friends like a normal Initiate. He could still hate the Sith for destroying his Empire, but it wouldn't be personal, like it is here. To rewrite him as some made-up minor nobility or a regular person would probably destroy the character.

Edit for clarity/tl;dr: He basically abdicated his throne and swore not to pursue ruling much of anything. If all I need to do is change his name to whatever the site-canon's family is, that's fine (though not as cool as Fel), but the royalty bit matters too much to the character to be cut out entirely.
