Trials of Corruption - Round One
Sith and SBZ Tournament

abqbt1.png

Alright ladies and punks! I've gotten the draw up and will be putting it further down. This is a heads up to get you prepared as to who you will be fighting, and where you stand. The draw was randomly generated using a website, inserting the names as they appeared in the info and I just took the newly generated list and sorted it into rounds. So don't blame me if you're up against someone you don't like, totally wasn't planned!

Right! So let me get to the rules and the run down of what you're going to have to do.
  • Tournament will be run by the contestants with intervention by myself, Gamov or Ecclessey wherever necessary. I have given you a deadline below, so be prepared and get ready. I will not accept excuses for missed posts or anything of that nature. If you have issues, you have time to come and talk to me.
  • You all have the responsibility of starting your battle's thread or posting before the designated date below. If you fail to do so, you will be immediately removed from the tournament with a loss on your name. If no thread is started, then logically the pair will be removed together. Why? Because you need to work for the win, and if you can't even get an intro post out then you don't deserve to flow through to the next round. That said. If you have issues posting, contact me. Don't let it run long and hit me up last second to save your ass. Hit me up in advance and let me know you won't be able to post until a certain time. We will work something out. If you're lazy and let it run, then that's your fault.
    • Note. Whoever starts the thread will get bonus points in my book. What does this mean? You'll find out soon enough.
  • Your location and setting are pre-determined for your fight. This is to make it equal. Whoever starts the thread must keep it relatively basic functionality wise. Creative flair is allowed but any abuse to gain an advantage will be punished. Be sensible you miscreants.
  • All rules posted in the initial sign up and info thread apply to every thread regarding the tournament. Manaan 2.0, and NDE.
  • If I see cheating, rule breaking or any other nonsense then I hold every right to dish out a punishment I deem necessary. This does not include death, dismemberment or permanent damage to any character. It does, however, include intercepting character's actions with IC events to even things back out, or to remove a character if disqualified. This will not be abused, and if you feel it is. Contact Marf, Ecclessey or Gamov. They will kindly tell me to rack off and can intervene themselves. This is just a measure of ensuring you behave.

Where exactly will you be fighting? What's the setting and location? Look at the picture above. You're all fighting in a gladiator style desert arena. The rest I'll leave up to you. Have fun, be creative but don't be silly or abusive with it.

Here is the current draw as it stands. If you're second guessing your attendance, let me know so I can track you down and kill you just hit me up and let me know.

Corvo Vis vs. Uhrsek Tabashk
Calthryssa Vek vs. Levi Reach
Vrek Khallen vs. Gorman
Bonnie Min'ara vs. Vlatkat Itu
Mila Visari vs. Jax Verdant
Julius Magnus Drake vs. Alpha
Velus vs. D'taka Rah Jann
Menderling Smollet vs. Kyna san Sikal
Qu’laam vs. Erik Valoren

Tournament has officially started. You all have until 00:00 AM Monday May 16th PDT to post/start threads. For those of you time illiterate. That's 77 hours from time and date of this post. I don't know how else to explain.

@Ecclessey @RedneckLoves @TheHook1 @Braden Drake @Relent @+SpaceJesus+ @Narsi @Pureblood-Sin @Comrade Matt @Phantom @Prudence @Gamov @Velus @Proleptic @Deviant @Kaane @Bantha @Phœnix

Are there any restrictions on armor/weapons, etc? I'm not trying to gain some unfair advantage, I was just wondering in case I missed a memo. I don't want my opponent showing up with a grenade launcher or something and have Rah being stuck with two piddly little lightsabers.

You're stuck with whatever is on your CS, if I'm not mistaken.

I believe that any weapons would technically be allowed, but as stated in the original writeup all weapons (sabers or grenades or anything else) would be set to stun settings only, in order to keep the friendly, NDE nature of the threads easily intact. @Jack correct me if I'm wrong XD

Correct. We're trying to replicate a standard PvP fight, minor alterations but attempting to keep it safe. All gear is as is standard on your CS so if you waltz up with something new and shiney then I'll take it off of you. All gear is non-lethal as well.

So if someone were to get stabbed with a lightsaber, the place they got stabbed in goes numb and they can't use it?

Not necessarily. It'd be the same as real life sharp metal bladed weapons vs. sparring with wooden versions of the same. I don't know if an area would actually be numbed in the area, but it would still hurt. Like getting stabbed hard with a wooden saber - it hurts and will bruise, but you didn't get skewered.

At least that's what I was assuming/picturing. Again, correct me if I'm wrong :)

I think you're thinking of the legend Sith Training swords, @Comrade Matt. They used venom along the blade to produce the numb feeling. RedneckLoves is on the right track--though I'm guessing non-lethal means 'training mode' on a lightsaber. Still powerful enough to leave an uncomfortable burn and block other saber blades, but not hot enough to do any real damage.

The above is correct in this situation, if you go for a stab and get hit you won't be penetrated but it will cripple enough and hurt the same. You just don't take permanent damage.

Since the duels will be non-lethal, would characters still be permitted to wear armor? I would imagine a training saber would do next to nothing against durasteel or something of that nature.

Training weapons apply the same damage is a lightsaber in a non-permanent way. If you wear durasteel and were hit by a lightsaber, it would go through. Assume the damage from a training saber cripples and hurts the same.

If it's unclear, the entire point of training sabers is to make sure you guys don't slaughter each other. Literally nothing else has changed. When you're curious if something would work or not, compare a lightsaber to the same situation.

Durasteel verse lightsaber equals not so good for the armor. Therefore, training saber verse Durasteel equals not so good for the armor.

So basically it's the same thing as a normal lightsaber, except that it doesn't pierce skin.

No permanent damage. No killing. No de-limbing.

Just to clarify on something brought to my attention.

If your opponents starts the thread, you have until the date in my first post to reply. This first round is void of the 48 hour limit, after Monday the limit kicks back in. I started the Tournament early for those of you with itchy fingers.
