I AM SEARCHING FOR A JEDI MASTER TO INVESTIGATE A DISTURBANCE IN THE FORCE AT THE OSSUS TEMPLE FRONT STAIRWAY WITHIN THIS THREAD

THIS AN OPEN RP FOR A JEDI MASTER TO FIND MY CHARACTER AND POSSIBLY ACCEPT HIM.

http://www.thestarwarsrp.com/forum/showthread.php?t=25877

And even then, the approval of that would be at my disposale.
Sorry, Necromancer, but I'm going to have to say no to your character. He slaughtered several people, without so much as to smirk.

You have no IC way to know what that character did and no IC way of investigating that character's past. You have no legitimate reason to refuse that character.

My apologies if it isn't apparent, but I do have a reason to disapprove of this character. Anger, and other negative emotions and actions such as slaughtering a bunch of children leave a mark on a force-sensitive character.

This is one of the reasons why profiles can and will be disapproved.

Can't you hide those emotions with proper training. So there won't be any marks?

Hide them, yes, but they'd still be there. That's the problem, Varius does not have this training. There's been Dark-siders lurking among the Jedi for ages, I don't have any problems with this at all, but he couldn't mask those emotions in any way.

The definition of a 'dark-sider' goes as follows;
A force-user tending to be more alligned to the dark side of the force than the light side. This can be any force-sensitive person, even if that person is not exceptionally cruel or evil.

I've been talking to Necromancer a fair bit about his character. The kid pushed it all into the recess of his mind, so I'm calling BS on that. Let him into the Order - if his Master decides he's got too much Dark Side influence to be trained, then he can make that call when the time comes. But for you to reject a character because you can magically detect everything they've done wrong is silly.

So I say again, you don't have grounds to refuse him.

Frankly, to deal in absolutes here, this is not easy to read out of the profile, and I believe we both know that Necromancer and one haven't talked as extensively about his concept as he did with you.

I have a transcript of the PM's you and Necro exchanged. You stonewalled him from the start and didn't leave much room for discussion.

In the private messages I pointed out my observation, or so I believe I did. Correct me if I'm wrong.

Just my two cents, but if Varius is a young character, yes, there might be a mark, but young people who have seen or committed bad things in general usually repress it into the back of their minds to surface later on in life. Not only is it more than likely, but in his bio, Necromancer mentions that there is a LACK of emotion in the character's personality, which further goes into the speculation of supressing memories, and that contradicts your statement about denying someone entry to the Jedi order because of 'anger, and other negative emotions' as you phrased it.

If however, the character were to continue to show dark side traits throughout his training, I believe that it would be up to the Master and the rest of the Council to determine if he's too far gone for rehabilitation. There have been many Jedi in the Star Wars saga who entered the order with marks upon them and still change to the light side.

The only point you made was that you absolutely would not allow Necro's character within the Jedi Order and that his character was 'beyond redemption'. Like I said, you stonewalled. Plain and simple.

Fair enough.

I'm going to approve of the profile, having read through it once more and considering the arguments brought up by Hakim, and partially mentioned by Fauztin. In the last few days, which I might want to mention though, I've been rather busy and in physical pain, and although this probably doesn't excuse anything, it might have shrouded my judgement.

If I might recommend a Master, then it's Keinushi, if she still takes on people.

EDIT;
@Hakim.
I haven't read your last post untill now, and nowhere in my Sentbox I can find a place where I'm saying that there's no way I'll approve of his character. That shouldn't matter anymore, though.

Just making sure my character, Byron, doesn't get lost in this conversation. Still in need of a Master.

I'm still waiting on Ru to get back to me about allowing me to create an elderly old Jedi Master whose sole purpose will be to train Padawans.

Should he approve I'll take you both on as apprentices.
