Tiberius sat and listened to the two men speak as he filled his mouth with food. He made note of the twitching of Derek’s mouth. It was almost like he was trying to hide something. He swallowed before voicing his reply. “You speak of unity, Derek, but that is easier said than done. I don’t believe that we will ever find unity in the galaxy. There are too many philosophies that clash with each other for all of us to unite and live peacefully. This village has unity because they are a homogeneous group. They’ve lived here all their lives, they’ve been taught the same, they believe the same.”
“Let’s take you’re example of the Sith and the Jedi.” He held out his hands, palms facing up. One hand to represent each side. “The Jedi,” he looked to his left hand and gave it a quick jostle, “we strive for peace and justice, and to bring harmony to the chaos found in the galaxy.” He looked at Lucien. “We fight evil by helping other. Though healing individuals or fostering relations between different groups.” He did his best not to look at the diplomat who represented Tiberius last example of fighting evil.
The Jedi moved his gaze to his other hand and now gave it a jostle. “The Sith on the other hand only want power, at any cost, and their ways bring death and corruption.” He looked back to Lucien. “Sith and Jedi and the antithesis of each other. We do not want the same thing”
There was a brief pause in Tiberius response as he contemplated his own encounters with the Sith. “They can deceive you with words and actions for a little bit, but eventually their true colors will show through.”
