With moving up the corporate ladder comes some good perks, one of which is more vacation time, in which the Blackwell manager Newton is using right now.

Newton is right now asleep in the cockpit of his shuttle, the Messier 7, his trusty astromech droid M7 is piloting the ship on his own, the rapid bluestreaks visible through the cockpit as the astromech droid is pulling the ship through hyperspace. The Messier 7 has been putting in a lot of work, it was stocked with plentiful amount of supplies and then some, it's Class 1 hyperdrive makes jumps quick and it's sublight speed isn't bad either, they can cover a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time. Newton and M7 aren't alone either, as Lyra Durand (@GABA) is journeying with, who Newton met on Coruscant. Together they both are looking for this treasure, if it exists.

Why is Newton all the way out into the unknown regions, in search of the treasure that has been rumored. 'Lost technology' they said. Newton hesitated at first, dismissing the notion as mere rumors, but here they are. The roboticist did some research, found some leads, and with the information he has, it leads to the Unknown Regions, a mostly unexplored and potentially dangerous region of space at the edge of the galaxy. No telling what lies in here, but it could be what he is looking for.

The Messier 7 then exited hyperspace. M7 would turn around and then proceed to start beeping loudly and rapidly. Newton sprung awake like someone jumped him or there is an emergency "What?", he would look around and then all is fine. "Oh." he would then look towards a grey-ish cloudy planet in view of the cockpit, out in the distance. There is also a space station out there too, not to far off from the planet but still in the distance. Newton would then check on Lyra. The Messier 7 would be adrift slowy until Newton's astromech droid is given further commands.

When Lyra was given the chance for a free space ride to the unknown regions, it was hard not to pass up such an opportunity. Especially now when there was talk of treasure hidden around the galaxy; she had kept in contact with Newton and though did not want to seem too eager, Lyra was entirely too eager to go with him.

On the ship, Lyra was finding hyperspace travel soothing and though the hum of the engines usually brought her the sleep she could not find the will to close her eyes. Her life had been full of uncertainties; recent events had brought moments of self-discovery that challenged everything that she ever believed. It was nice that Newton didn't bother her with questions and instead he had taken the time to catch some sleep for himself while he let his droid pilot the ship. Lyra watched the mechanical dome spin while it effortless piloted them through hyperspace.

Its lights blinked, it let out some non-alarming beeps and toots that brought a hypnotic tone that made Lyra doze off for only a few short moments before letting out an alert they were approaching their destination. Excitement bubbled inside of Lyra as she sat up straight, watching the stars still and the grey world floated in front of them.

"So is it down there or on the space station?" she asked.

Down there or on the space station. "I would guess it's on the planet, but given that we don't know much about this place, I think we should check out the station first." All Newton had coming here were some coordinates, the planet, even the name is not pop up in any information banks on the ship. Newton would then give his droid a friendly tap. "Take us to the station friend." the droid would then beep, manipulating the console, the Messier 7 would then accelerate, taking off in the direction of the space station.

Newton would eye the space station as the ship's thrusters took them closer, squinting his eyes, he would then see a logo, and as they get closer, he can recognize it. "That's odd, that's the Blackwell Tech logo on it, I wonder what they are doing here" Yeah, there is no mistake. That struck him as weird, what is a Blackwell Technologies space station doing all the way out here... He wasn't aware there would be that here.

With that, Newton, with a stern expression "M7, open a channel to the space station, if you would." M7 would answer back with a series of beeps, complying. "Blackwell station, this is Newton Arden in the Messier 7, requesting permission to land?" After that, Newton's expression would drop, as he would wait for a reply. It's been a few minutes and nothing? "Copy? This is Newton Arden, a manager at Blackwell Automata. Requesting permission to land." And there would still be no response. This is weird. Even if they wanted to decline, they would at least answer, but there is no reply, and no physical movement coming from the space station either.

Newton would then turn towards Lyra "I think we should go in and see what is going on." he said, asking her for confirmation before rushing in. It might be worth looking into it. "We would need a map of the planet anyway"

He suggested to check on the station first and Lyra couldn't disagree as being in the unknown regions, the computers would have little if not, any, information about the grey world below. Newton decided to hail the station, but he seemed surprised, possibly concerned to see it out here. Lyra felt herself leaning further off the edge of her seat as she was drawn in by fascination and curiosity, but also a sense of high alert; instinct told her to be cautious.

Newton patched a transmission to the station, giving the Blackwell associated ship a chance to recognize the hail from them. However, the air was silent,, "Perhaps their communication system is down, we're pretty far from hyper-relay stations, anything could be disrupting the transmission out here." the teen tried to give the benefit of doubt.

The redhead sat back in her seat as Newton directed course to the station, suggesting to see what is happening. Lyra found this satiation highly unusual and wanted to know as to why Newton was not informed of another associate was out here without him knowing. Though maybe he worked for the kind of company that had some underhanded dealings with less than ideal ethical practices.

"A map would be good, but I am getting a bad feeling about all of this, Newton." Lyra stated, revealing her thoughts on the situation and she hoped that he shared the same.

"Those are good possibilities" Newton said when Lyra brought up valid point in regards to distance from the hyper-relay comms, and anything else for that matter. They don't say that the Unknown Regions are dangerous to travel through for a reason, especially ones that are unprepared.

She said she was getting a bad feeling about this though, and he is inclined to agree, nodding. "Yeah I agree. Lets be extra careful." was the only thing he could suggest. But yes, he did have a bad feeling too, he can't quite shake it off. They are a very long distance away, from the civilized galaxy out into the unknown.

The Messier 7 would be flying towards the space station still, eventually they would go through the stations' hangar. The hangar was still shielded, but the hangar was empty, no other ships, inside, no staff, not even a droid. Just everything a hangar would normally have minus staff, they could see all that through the viewport. "Weird, no other employees here." Is the place abandoned?

The Messier 7's exit ramp would fold outwards, and Newton would begin stepping out "No welcoming party..." just eerie silence. "M7 keep the engines warm" he said to his companion droid over ear-piece commlink. Newton also made sure his blaster pistol was on his person, just in case.

"Not sure about the layout of the station, would the control room be the first place to start looking?" he suggested to Lyra. In any case, he would step away from the vessel and proceed forward through one of the bigger blast doors that would lead out of here. He would push a button on the side and it would open, with the path forward open

Lyra reached out with her senses to look for anything amiss on the station, but she felt as though something was interfering. She winced, eventually withdrawing back to herself as Newton landed the ship in the hanger. There were no others ship as Newton had pointed out, but certainly there had to be a skeleton crew on board; it was odd just to leave a station out in the unknown regions. Then again, being out in the unknown regions, there probably was not too much space traffic.

She followed Newton down the ramp into the hanger, hand resting close to her blaster just in case anything unwanted sprung out into the open. She remained cautious and was relieved there was no welcoming party; with her luck such party would be ready to kill them. Her senses reached out again, trying to find any presence available on the ship, but things felt like static and she paused in her focus, trying to decide how to describe her intuition to Newton.

"The control room would be a good start. Maybe someone will be in there too and we can get some questions as to what is going on here." she agreed, walking with Newton to the halls that she hoped would lead to the control room. "There has to be at least a skeleton crew here, even as far as we are outside systems, it takes a specific number to run a station like this." Lyra explained her thoughts, though she was beginning to become more curious about what laid below on the planet's surface.

There wasn't too much to look at; the halls were sterile and uniform along their path, not giving them any indication of living beings.

"Yeah..."
Newton agreed with her assessment. This just doesn't add up. "Maybe we can check the logs in the control room too." While looking into that map, they can look into this mystery as well. Probably a good idea, there might be a connection between this station and the world below, what is going on here may have some effect on the the grey world or vice versa.

As Newton would proceed, he would hear nothing but the sounds of footsteps treading on the metallic flooring, he would see signs on the ceiling that point to the control room. "Looks like we are on the right track." he would continue to proceed, following the signs, until it would in time take them to the control room. Pushing the button on the side would open the door, stepping forth they would see the control room, filled with terminals, along what appears to be a main terminal at the enter in the rear, there would also be a section that has several monitors with camera feeds cutting in and out to various locations onboard the station at fixed intervals. At a glance, the feeds still show a station devoid of any other life forms.

Newton would walk over to the main terminal and start to sit down as he gets on it. "Lets see what we can find here" he muttered as he started to get to work on the terminal, typing as he works on working his way through the directory. He would navigate to where on the screen it has infomation about the planet itself, also he would put his datapad on the desk and begin plugging it in so he can download any information off of the terminal

. He would have success, he would relay this to Lyra "I've found the map. I'm downloading it onto my datapad." he would see more information as well regarding the planet. "Looks like this is an expedition by Blackwell Technologies with the codename 'Theta' and they refer to the planet below as 'Planet Theta'" a placeholder name it looks like, for a planet that doesn't exist as the rest of the galaxy as concerned. "This planet does have ruins from a long lost civilization." Newton would back out of there and then go into the logs, there were some ones that stick out. "This one log details what appears to be an underground vault they found that was being excavated" His mind would find the latest entry, and his eyes had a skeptical look when he saw the time on it. "Hmmm, This is odd, this last log on here is from 30 years ago."

Newton would take some time to read through. "From what I can read, it looks like they found some sort of gate in those ruins that opens a rift through hyperspace." Newton didn't know such a thing existed, he would keep reading. Then he would look at Lyra, with a blank expression on his face, turning his this back to the terminal. "This last entry details that they found a way to get the gate working, and all of the crew would be planetside as they open the gate for the first time, to celebrate would would be a great achievement." This is starting to make more sense. "There is nothing further on this matter..."

Lyra's head turned slowly as she looked around the hall that seemed to lead to them to the control room. She found it entirely odd for it to be empty, and she could feel Newton having the same concerns. No one just leaves a space station sitting without someone to monitor. When they entered the control room, Lyra walked around, looking at the different panels while Newton settled with the main dashboard. He begun to read out loud what he was finding in the most recent logs, though what was really striking was the length of the last entry.

"Thirty years ago?!" Lyra walked over, leaning over his shoulder to read the contents herself as he continued. It sounded interesting: mystery long-lost civilizations and technology that has not been heard of even by someone who had worked for the company.

"Opening rifts?" she questioned, her face twisted into puzzlement. The teen was certain from her own studies research was fairly solid on the science of hyperspace jumps, but this almost sounded like it was from a fantasy holo. The crew went to the planet to celebrate their success in getting it to work and that was it. No more entries. The teen looked at the viewport as it faced the grey world of "Planet Theta".

"If they went to the gate, either it worked and they are all dead, or it didn't work and they are all dead." Lyra suspected, reaching into her gut feelings about the situation. There was something still off about it, "We should at least check to see what is going on down there, if there is anything from the crew we can bring back to their families. Some sort of conclusion in the least for Blackwell." Lyra frowned and glanced at Newton. Though she was curious to see where the crew went, she also wanted to see this gate herself.

"Anything else on the gate itself?" she asked him. If there was nothing else, she assumed they should get to the planet's surface.

Newton grimaced as he looked at the terminal at the possibility of all the Blackwell personnel dying in either possible scenario she thought of. If they are going to pursue this treasure, it's most likely going to get this vault, with the this so-called 'Hypergate' intertwined with that objective, and Newton sure is keen on not joining them either, so they must be careful.

"Yeah..." he said in regards on going to check to see what is down there. As for what else is on the terminal, he never stopped looking for additional data, but there isn't anything else that's helpful in their present situation as far as he can sees. But he has some logs downloaded on his datapad. Well, there is one thing "Well" Newton would look towards Lyra "According to this, after the hyperspace gate live demonstration was a success, they were going to reverse engineer it and begin to produce more of them." Newton isn't sure how to process Blackwell having readily access to gates that can open rifts into hyperspace. "Nothing further" he would get up out of the seat and then put away his datapad on his person. "Shall we?" he said referring to them leaving the control room to get back on the ship.

After the two would backtrack their way towards the Messier 7, Newton would then take a datacard from his datapad and then insert it into M7. "Can you take us to the vault on the world with it's location on the map I just gave you?" M7 would take a few to process the data and then beep in affirmative.

With the Messier 7's engines already warm and if the two are both onboard and ready to leave, it wouldn't be long for the ship to depart from the lifeless-yet-active space station and take off towards the so-called 'Planet Theta". It would be a bit of a bumpy ride for them to enter the upper atmosphere of the grey planet, with shields up they can make re-entry and it would be a little bit of a bumpy ride. Once they exit the upper atmosphere, they would find a monochrome landscape along with fog. There would be ruins in the background as they make up their approach. There would be an occasional flash of lightning from the skies as well.

kZMQMST.png

Looking down from the viewports, one can see that the ruins indeed look like they are ancient, and there are a lot of them accross the surface of this area. The grass is barely has any green to it. Newton would say it looks depressing as well.

The Messier 7 would then fly around a particular set of ruins, circling around a tall, broken spire., they are getting close as M7 is looking for a decent spot to land, eventually settling down. The landing gears would open and the ship would touch down. Amongst the ruins, the vault wouldn't be too far off. M7 would beep as the ship is firmly landed and the exit ramp is openned. Now they have a vault to find and explore. Newton would then look towards Lyra "You ready for this?"

Reverse engineer?

Her mind was reeling from the idea that there was other technology out there that could open rifts in time and space for another way of traveling. Research was currently solid in their efforts now, and even with that, it was flawed with advanced as they were. Her own curiosity piqued, she felt it surge through body as well as the fear of the unknown of going down to the planet's surface. Even with how close they were, the travel to Theta was dangerous as unknown anomalies could make things turn sour rather quickly.

Lyra was starting to grow fond of his droid, M7 and the droids capabilities to get them to places that would require too much reliance on luck.

As they reached the world's surface, she noted the ruins that dotted the plains; time had clearly done its work here, enclosures were filed down, leaving only outlines of their once foundation. However, Lyra's attention would be drawn the spire, and as she watched it grow larger in their approach, there was something else she felt in gut. Her instincts felt drawn to the spire and she was not entirely sure how to explain it. She felt herself become hypnotize by the feeling, the curiosity and fear leaving her; she thought she heard Newton say something, but he sounded so far away and it took her a moment to refocus and she glanced to him, then to the spire once more.

"Yeah, let's go see this." she said with a nod as droid landed the ship.

The girl grabbed her pack and exited down the ramp with Newton, getting a feel for the warmer, albeit dryer atmosphere. There was a strong wind that seemed to constantly be blowing; it whipped her hair around her face as they proceeded to the ancient village. She reached out to touch the stone that belonged once to dwellings, "Is there a location you were able to see where they may have set up camp?" she asked.

The winds are blowing hard indeed as they exited the ramp, Newton with M7 flanking him, Newton can feel the winds too, with his jacket blowing with the wind and even his short hair, which will leave it a bit messy afterwards.

Newton was wondering about that spire that towered over the vicinity. It looked old, had moss growing on it, and it looked ominous. The Blackwell data said it was an underground vault. Maybe whatever it is they are looking for is in that spire, underground. Or who knows, Newton would scratch his head. Lyra also asked about where Blackwell may have set up camp. He didn't see where when he looked through the logs.

"I didn't see a location for a camp in the logs. I didn't see one on the approach from the ship either. If they made a camp it may be inside around here." And who knows where that may be. A camp would be good to look through first, any in-field research and another other data they might there would presumably be there.

Newton would step forth further into the the ancient ruins, he would glance around, treading lightly, he would have his hand near his blaster pistol. Newton can't say he's seen ruins like these up-close, with nature attempting to reclaim the place with just as much vines and moss visible as ancient stone. Whoever was here though, these structures were built to last.

Before they get too far, 3 strange animals would come from around the corner, a fair distance ahead. They looked aggressive and vicious. Newton has never seen an animal like this. But not really a time to admire them. The front of the group would then make a bellow, a loud one enough to ring anyone's eyes. This staggers Newtons as he would cover one of his ears. Newton had to defend himself with force at this point. Newton would draw his blaster up with his other hand and fire three shots at the one making the noise, prompting the rest to respond by charging at the group.

No information regarding a camp...though the more Lyra thought on it, the more she was certain even if they did know where it was located, finding any remnants on the surface would next to null. Too much time had passed and the harsh elements told her they weren't going to be blessed to find easy clues. She was beginning to wonder if there was any wildlife other than the plants that were trying to survive. It was oddly quiet, she had been so used to the business of the cities and even the smaller ports on backwater worlds, this took it to a new level.

Lyra felt the wind suddenly gust and had to dig in her heels to avoid stumbling over, however, as she did so, she reached into the Force, feeling her surroundings now that she was on the planet's surface. Things were very different, not of any of the familiar sensations like she would feel on worlds back in the rim; it almost felt untouched or even forgotten out here, but there was the Force and it seemed to grow stronger as they approached the spire.

The redhead walked in and out of the stone outlines eventually catching up with Newton when she felt something stir around her and she was suddenly on alert. She was uncertain where the hounds had come from, there really wasn't anywhere to hid or take cover, but like Newton, she had never seen such creatures before as they approached, stopping in defense while one let out a loud bellow.

Lyra winced, quickly covering her ears with no success in protecting them. They started to ring and she quickly pulled her blaster also; Newton seemed to hit the center one with accuracy and she fired at two that were now charging them. It caused the one heading toward Newton to stumble and slow, going on the defense, but the other one took leap at Lyra. The girl dipped into her training, rolling out of the way from the creature as it landed where she once stood. She rose to her feet again, firing several shots at the creature who seemed to be confused that its prey had moved. It collapsed to the ground and Lyra turned to see how Newton was doing, ready to intervene.

Newton's ears were still ringing and it hurt to hear more blaster fire. He may need to get his ears checked after this. Newton was amazed he landed that one shot on the center of that one that was making all the noise. That at least shut that weird reptile-dog thing up, leaving two more to go. Newton would look to Lyra who seems to be handling herself quite well, slow down one enough to stop it's momentum, and now she's dodged a charge from the one remain, and then made an effective counter attack. Newton would then see the last one remaining, hurt and now trying to limp. The Blackwell employee would go ahead and fire a couple more shots to make sure it's neutralized.

The droid technician would then look at Lyra. "You alright?" he asked, making sure. "We should probably hurry. Dunno if that loud scream is going to attract more of those" Newton would then take a look at his surroundings real quick, doesn't seem to be any more of them, for now at least.

If Lyra was ready to move on, Newton would press on ahead. After advancing a few blocks or so, they would be in a larger open area with multiple roads going in different directions. The roads would be in serious disrepair, overgrowth was still heavily present on the duracrete-like stone, a large bizzare tree with long roots piercing through the cobblestone. The sky is at least visible now, with they grey-monochrome sky visible with the tall spire looming and towering above the ancient city. The wind would continue to blow heavily.... probably should have used gel on his hair.

Newton would scan the area when the harsh wind subsided, not seeing anything else yet...

The last of the hounds were put down by Newton and he attended to Lyra to see if she were hurt. The redhead put away her blaster, not wanting to get trigger crazy with the wrong being if they came across someone not hostile. However, she was keeping vigilant for any other dangers that lurked in the area. "I've never seen a creature look like that before..." she grimace, not enthused about encountering anymore.

"I wondered what happened here. You know, just to not exist any longer...its a bit surreal." she said after they had walked a bit. She was curious as to how a group of people could have disappeared, but upon seeing the creatures they just encountered, she wondered if there was an attack of some sort. However, seeing there were buildings that once stood and roads, it couldn't have been just a few hungry beasts that made them all disappear. "Though, I'm more curious what is in the underground vault." she said with eyes wide with curiosity as they approached stone stairs that descended under the surface. Her senses did not pick up anything unusual, but they told her to be cautious and she wondered if the hounds they encountered were just part of a larger pack.

She took out her blaster now, a bit more cautious of dark tunnels. There was more to the tunnel than just the stairs. The walls were carved with images of creatures that may have been the original inhabitants on Theta; they told of stories, Lyra guessed they represented significant points in their history. As they moved down the stairs, the tunnel would open up into a larger hall, ornately decorated stone continued to line the walls, roots from the grasses that grew above broke through the ceiling and hung over the two explorers while they moved further inside.

There seemed to be a skylight at the end of the hall and a divot in the floor, "Is that under the spire?" she asked, trying to judge how far they went under ground and glanced at Newton for his thoughts.

Newton agreed with Lyra. He's never seen any creature like that before. Not just that, he also wonders what happened here too. A civilization that can build hypergates, gone. Whats weird is that there seems to be just as much trace of the original inhabitants as there is any Blackwell employees around this place, which is to say none at all. There maybe be some sort of connection with the disappearance of the originals and the Blackwell personale. But yes, the underground vault, the place where they believe the treasure they are looking for lies.

As they made a descent down the stairs, it would be dark, but without prompting M7 would, without prompting, use it's spotlight to shed some light on things, making it easy to see the murals among the walls. The murals would display of some sort of octopus-like aliens prominently. He doesn't know what kind of aliens they are, or even a present day species that looks like them. Still, would be nice of Newton was actually an archeologist, Newton's skillset here does them no favors.

Newton still had his blaster out still, just in case. There were vicious alien dog-things with the oddly-mouths up above, no telling what other hostile fauna could be down here too. The walls were getting more fancy, although there is still that ever-present overgrowth all around.

Newton would see the divot and the light shining above, refreshing to see some natural light after getting this far. To answer Lyra's question, "I think so..." he said as he would look up at the light. Honestly this is quite disorienting to say the least. Before too long, Lyra and Newton would start hearing the clittering noise of insects. Newton would look towards the direction of the sound along with M7, and it's light would shine upon a swarm of alien looking insects crawling along the walls. They are small bugs sure, but he doesn't want to be around them still...

Panicking, Newton would aim his blaster and start firing rapidly at them, some hastily-made shots would catch some of the critters in their explosion, vaporizing them, and scaring the walls. There would then be more clittering noises... there would be some more on their way towards Lyra from the walls.

Lyra felt her stomach turn with either nerves or eagerness when he shared the same thought that the spire's base lied over the opening. However, the closer they approached, the less hope Lyra felt in finding the rest of the Blackwell employees; there was still no trace of them or remnants of their camp at any point of their journey so far.

However, their search would result in another hiccup, there was scratching that came from overhead and though Lyra was not able to see exactly what it was, her stomach started to sink the louder it became. Soon it would reveal itself, in fact it seemed like hundreds of insects revealed themselves and went after Newton who fired his blaster. They didn't want just him and were also going after the redhead who fired her blaster several shots at the bugs to keep them from approaching. The noise from their weapons seemed to startle them and Lyra kept firing, uncertain if any were hit as it seemed like they were relentless and unfazed by their attempts.

The teen knew they were not going to get out alive if they just kept shooting their blasters and Lyra took the next step. The girl extended her palm upward, eyes closed, the Force pulsed through the young sorceress as she focused and felt the creatures that surrounded them. The air around her seemed to grow dense and the insects seemed to slow and wince, backing just slightly as she shadows in the corridor moved like mist. There were some that seemed to scurry away immediately, others seemed less intimidated, but it would be significantly less and Newton would have been able to shoot them with his blaster.

Newton gritted his teeth as he kept blasting away at the gross insects. They all seemed to keep coming, but then suddenly seemed to slow, and then some started retreating a bit. Not all of them though, but with sighnicantly less numbers, leaving them easy prey for his blaster. The heavy damage from Newton's heavy blaster makes slightly larger explosions when it lands, each shot able to kill multiples in each shot.

M7 would then roll forward, and bringing it's fire extinguisher to bear, and then start spraying it towards the insects that were still heading towards Lyra. Fire extinguishers do tend to be problemetic for bugs, it was having an adverse effect on them, although not killing many of them outright, it would deter more though, giving them much more breathing room.

Newton wanted to keep shooting at them and killing as many as possible, but then he'd get to the point where he is pulling the trigger and nothing was coming out, he run out of shots for his powerpack. "Damn bugs" Well, at least he carries spare powerpacks, he would discard the one that's all used out and reload. Now that they created ample living space between them, Newton would regain his composure and calm down. They aren't gone, but they've been warded off for a bit and aren't approaching them any more, at least for now. "Come on lets go" he quietly said, they should get going.

He would then look back towards the divot at the end of the hall, ready to move on. M7 would keep facing towards the bugs and keep it's fire extinguisher ready as a means of covering them.

He noticed the bugs retreating but was still naïve enough he did not realize of the cause from the redhead. She felt a bit of relief of not needing to explain how she did what she did and moved onward. The droid also got into the action, spraying the bugs and further deterring them from ascending on the investigating duo. Lyra fired a few more shots, giving them a clear to proceed, but they probably shouldn't linger. Newton spoke, ready to move onward, clearly thinking the same line as herself; Lyra walked by M7, patting its dome in appreciation for its help.

The redhead picked up her step, walking with Newton to the divot, still alert for anymore immediate dangers. The light that shone down was impaired slightly by the spire that towered overhead. Lyra's gaze looked up, her eyes following the outline of the spire to the stone opening of the corridor and then back to the surrounding area. There were stone stairs that lead into the divot, there was certainly debris she could see, grass, stone, and what appeared to be remnants of structural pieces. She wondered if too much time has passed to find anything that would give them clues to where the research team had went. There weren't any signs of a struggle or a fight, no stains of blood or bone she could see.

Reaching the bottom, she kicked through the debris, looking for anything hidden beneath. She knelt down, picking up a piece of rusted sheet metal and flipping it over, seeing the the Blackwell logo. "Certainly someone was here." she stated, focusing a moment on her senses, she felt something like an irritant that reached her nose. Lyra turned to the wall, her fingers moved along the moss as she continued to feel physically what she could see and what she couldn't see.

They beaten back the bugs with the combined efforts of all three. M7 would beep happily with thanks for Lyra as she patted it's dome. Newton can tell it's fond of her.

They would then continue onwards now that they were finished with pest control. Down the stone stairs too the bottom, where there was a bunch of debris, not debris from the ruins, but metal. Clearly not from the original inhabitants, and when Lyra found the Blackwell logo and commented it, Newton went to see what it was "Blackwell... we must be getting close to the gate, and maybe that treasure..." he said upon seeing it. Well, he hoped they were getting close. He would eye the debris, it looks like was torn off by sheer force, no blood or claw marks he can see, at least.

Newton would glance around and be feeling around as well, particularly the pieces of metal. WIth M7 giving light, he would see glimpses of a passage waythat looks like it goes further, but it's obstructed by this larger piece of metal. Could this be the way? Newton would try moving it, it's not budging, he would strain, but he would give up. Newton would look at his astromech droid. "Can you cut through this?" M7 would be more than happy to oblidge, Newton would get away as M7 would use the fusion cuter to cut a hole through the metal. It would be a small hole though, big enough for it to pass. It would take some time as sparks hiss, but Newton would then kick the cut part down, and with the light still shining and M7 being able to see everything immediately, it would start beeping in an excited manner, as to say that it found something.

Newton would then say to Lyra, "Well, ladies first" he invited her to take the first look and to pass through first.

When Lyra would make it all the way through, she would see the Hypergate at long last in a large open cave-like chasm. There would be no murals or ornate stone walls past this point, just rock and curtsy of Blackwell; more (damaged) structural remnants scattered about, seemingly randomly. The Hypergate would look like technology he had never seen before, but it's own aesthetic would contrast to the more conventional-looking technology that Blackwell attached to it. There would be a large blue crystal stalactite hanging above, giving of a glowing blue light that would illuminate the area.

There is one problem though, the Hypergate looks heavily damaged in addition to aged, and they would find that a large modern generator that was attached that looks blown out. There would also be piles of ashes scattered through out, as well as blackened skeletal remnants.

Newton confirmed the logo and Lyra frowned, letting it drop back down as she continued to move around the debris. It just seemed so odd for a group of scientists to disappear as such, though she wasn't too sure how that track record went in general. She caught Newton from corner of her eye as he shifted through the debris on the other end when she heard him trying to move a larger piece of metal. Lyra stopped what she was doing and approached Newton as he called for M7's help who was happy to oblige.

The redhead pulled her blaster just in case there was a surprise hidden behind the door while M7 cut away and then Newton kicked open the hole that was created, allowing them to see somewhat inside. It was small space to crawl through and she wondered if Newton would even be able to fit. He commented on ladies first and Lyra frowned, giving him an unenthusiastic scowl, but she was eager to get to the bottom of this small mystery and climbed through the hole.

She blinked quickly, working to adjust her eyes and she used her other senses to explore. Her nose wrinkled to the smell of ash and dust and nearly tripped over the debris that was randomly scattered on the floor. However, as she looked out into the larger opening, she could see the hypergate in the center with a large crystal near it. Her lips parted in awe as she saw it, but there was something wrong as she took in her surroundings. She walked up to the generator and then looked back at Newton, noticing the piles of ash across the chasm, "It looks like something bad happened here." she said walking up to one of the piles and tapping it with her foot.

She continued to look at the random pieces of equipment that was strewn about and she picked up datapad, trying to activate it, but it was also heavily damaged. Tossing it back down, she walked up to the gate's ancient terminal, examining the aged and damaged wires and sockets.
