Leon was nervous. It felt like he’d lived a lifetime since they’d last seen each other. He still couldn't believe that she’d joined The Order. Baudelaire had nearly fallen out of his chair when Hera told him. He felt bad she’d joined at such a weird time and knew with how crazy everything had been there wasn’t much chance she'd been given a decent orientation.

It was still weird to think of himself as a Knight. Baudelaire wasn’t sure why, but he’d thought he would feel… he didn’t know… Knightly? Instead, he just felt stressed out. He’d had the idea that becoming a Knight would lead to more freedom, but with the current situation, things were… complicated. Leadership was handling it the best they could, but for something like this to happen so soon after Yavin… The galaxy was in a precarious place and the Jedi’s role in it was marred by the failures of the past, but that was boring to think about and he’d been drowning in an intense depression since Adumar, so he took a breath and put on that mischievous smile everyone expected to see.

It'd be nice to not think about the rest of the universe for an afternoon.

Leon looked up and down the hall. Of course, she’d keep him waiting. He chuckled, slipping his hands into his pockets and leaning back against the wall. She was lucky he thought she was worth waiting on.

When she was told that being a Jedi meant that their lives were enveloped in danger, Koemi had been blissfully ignorant to just how correct Hera’s statement had been. The younger woman was fortunate to have been shipped off to Brighthome to begin her training there but the news of Ithor still was like a knife dragging across her throat. All those people she had observed, living their life in peace, only to be snuffed out by… Well, the who or what was only speculation to her knowledge and quite frankly, was something she didn’t really want to dwell on at the moment.

What did matter was that through all the turmoil and chaos, a familiar face had reached out and put her mind at ease knowing that he was not one of those present during the massacre. Seeing Leon again, with that same carefree attitude he always placed on display, was more therapeutic than any of the services offered here. With that thought in mind, and a jogan fruit held between her teeth, Koemi quickly packed up whatever few textbooks she had been given into her bag, tossed it over her shoulder and left her quarters to seek him out.

Rounding a corner as she moved to blow a strand of hair from her eyes, she spotted Leon leaning on a wall looking in the opposite direction, likely for her. Instead of announcing herself, a sly grin developed as she slipped back behind the corner before taking a large bit from her breakfast. Holding the fruit in her hand, Koemi closed her eyes and directed every ounce of focus she had on the jogan and while she couldn’t physically see it, she could feel it both in mind and in hand.

Her lessons had been few and far between, what with the Jedi still recoiling from their crushing defeat, so her skill had only just begun to manifest itself. Even so, she felt the jogan lift itself from her fingertips. She could feel Leon’s position down the corridor so she took aim and prepared to launch when she felt that familiar gaze land on her, her own eyes snapping open as the jogan propelled itself, only to come up short and roll to Leon’s feet.

Blushing slightly, one hand moved to brush the errant lock of hair back from her eyes once again. ”You’re lucky. A bit more practice and I would have knocked you out cold,” the girl teased as she approached.

He felt a stirring in the force and turned in it’s direction. He spotted Komie poking out from a corner and looked down at the jogon fruit rolling toward him on the ground.

A confused expression furrowed his brow until she explained how close she'd been to knocking him out, “Why?” he laughed.

It’s okay to just say "hi" to me ya know,” he said stooping down and swiping the fruit from the ground. As soon as it touched his hand, it shot in her direction coming to a stop directly in front of her nose, so close she’d have to cross her eyes to see it. And when she did…

He slipped his Nalphone out and snapped a pic. “Perfect.” he laughed, showing it to her, then plucking the floating fruit from the air, "I'm saving this as your contact pic, just so you know," he teased.

Leon fixed her with his typical mischievous little look and said, “It’s good to see you. I’ve missed hanging out.

Baudelaire was still sore from his most recent mission. His arm was bandaged, just under the collar of his tunic she’d be able to see another hidden underneath. By this time, now that they were face to face it would be apparent that Leon had gone through a significant growth spurt. He’d hit about 6’1 and had packed on at least twenty pounds of muscle.

So, any preference where we start?

Once they’d decided the location, Leon would lead the way.

I’m surprised you’re here,” he started, “Kinda felt like a sore subject last time we spoke.

Even from a distance, it was difficult to ignore the fact that Leon had physically matured in the months since she had last seen him, Koemi needing to remind herself to not let her eyes linger on his broadened shoulders nor the bandages that were concealed by his clothing. This was only made simple as she leaned back in anticipation of the jogan that performed like a boomerang, hovering just before her eyes. The telltale ‘snap’ of a photo being taken could be heard before the fruit was snapped away.

”Sure, but where’s the fun in that?” Koemi teasingly rebutted, using one hand to come underneath Leon’s own and knock the jogan back into the air before catching it with her other hand. ”If I ever see that photo on your Switter page, I promise I’ll kill you,” she added teasingly before taking another bite, though silently it was eating her alive that such an embarrassing picture even existed in the first place.

”I thought tour guides were supposed to make these kinds of decisions?” Koemi continued to tease, the playful glint in her eye matching Leon’s own. ”Anywhere but the library. I’m so sick of reading. Every time I close my eyes, all I can see are words and jumbled letters. What about the training chambers? I haven’t been there yet,”

”You know Hera better than I do,”
Koemi began in response to his question. ”Agreeing to join the Order was the only way to shut her up,” she joked, a subtle laugh as she looked up to the Knight at her side. ”Gods, he’s gotten tall…” she thought to herself, still smiling. Finally, she turned her attention back to the corridor.

”No, but seriously, it wasn’t that I was sore about it per say,” she paused, reflecting on the moment he mentioned. How she felt elated to have been spending time with him, how she felt as though perhaps it was a ploy to further persuade her to join the Order rather than him simply wanting to spend time with her, which was all she had wanted. She couldn’t tell him that, however. Even thinking about it caused her cheeks to burn slightly. ”I just like making my own decisions, not having them forced on me. Water under the bridge,” she finished, half truthfully as she moved to change the subject.

”Does it hurt?” Koemi asked, looking back to Leon and referencing his injuries. ”You look like shit,” she continued before slamming the brakes. ”I mean, the bandages. You always look good, just… Wait, I mean…” Shaking her head, she took a deep breath and focused. ”I mean… What happened?” she finished. ”Smooth…”

Leon conceded her point about the fruit, “Touche.

He laughed as she knocked the fruit out of his hand while threatening his life. “All you’ve done is made we wanna post it,” he teased.

Oh, we’re going straight to the archive then, just for the sass,” he said with a chuckle as he began to lead her toward the training room.

Brighthome was huge. Quite frankly it's a little intimidating for most newcomers. He knew Komie’s ability to adapt was out of control. He didn’t think she’d need a tour, but he’d also missed her, and this was a good enough excuse to hang out.

That sounds like Hera,” he said fondly. Initially he’d been hesitant to train under Joyful, but they’d grown close over his apprenticeship. Now that he thought about it he hadn’t seen her since he’d made it back with Ezra… He made a mental note to check in on her soon.

Leon’s eyebrow rose when she mentioned their last meeting, he stopped giving her his full attention. She seemed hesitant for some reason like she had something she wanted to say but it was in a language she didn’t speak. He could relate… Rather than rush her he gave her a second to voice what she wanted.

I’d never ask you to do anything other than that,” he said with a reassuring smile, before jutting his chin down the hall, “Almost to the archives,” he teased.

They walked a few more paces when she asked about his wounds. His smile soured sardonically and his eyes dropped to the floor. Wasn't really any other thing to say than the truth.

Every time,” he replied.

He turned to look at her eyebrow cocked and a tinge of wounded pride in his expression when she started back peddling, “I’m posting that photo…” he muttered while she struggled to rephrase.

A lot,” he started as he undid the top two buttons on his tunic and pulled it aside, “This was from a piece of shrapnel,” he left the buttons undone and lifted his arm, “Vibrosword,” he leaned forward and angled his face so that his right eye was close enough for her to see the burst blood vessels in his eyes.

It’s been a month,” he sighed, not even coming close to the pain and anguish he’d been through after Ithor. He closed his eyes and pinched the bridge of his nose remembering The Father’s cautionary words.

But, it’s not always like this,” he said with an honest smile.

Leon stopped in front of a pair of glass sliding doors. Through the glass was an empty room filled with various forms or training equipment. Baudelaire jerked his thumb at the room, “First stop, A training room!

The station was home to a number of training rooms, each was fashioned similarly, in one of the corners you could find a rudimentary set of weights, in the center was a dueling ring and a training droid, on the far wall there were a number of force puzzles and instruments.

Anything you wanna go over while we’re here? Happy to help with your telekinesis if you want, ya know that way you can knock me out next time we hang out,” he said with a grin.

Koemi’s smile only grew as she and Leon continued on their way through the station. What little she knew of the Adumarian, there was no denying that he had a way about him. Something that tended to put her at ease. For all the chaos they had experienced in their short time knowing one another, she appreciated their friendship beyond most. Perhaps because of it, rather than in spite.

”Do I even want to know what you were doing to end up catching a vibrosword with your face?” Koemi replied, her smile faltering as she coped with the feelings of sorrow and concern for his well being. A few months ago perhaps she’d have berated him for placing himself in such a position, but this would have been before joining the Order. While she didn’t encourage violence, she had been enlightened that it was a frequent occurrence in the lives of the Jedi. For some, it was simply a part of reality and something she would need to accept. ”Maybe you just need to get better at fighting?” she added, her tone a mixture of sympathy and mockery with a side eyed glance.

Of course, in typical Leon fashion, he simply flashed a bright smile and it seemed like all the pain simply slid away. She admired it about him, how he always seemed to be an anchor for those around him. Even more so now, whatever adventures he had had since their last meeting clearly provided him with a more grounded demeanor. As he smiled at her, all she could do was smile back.

Koemi walked ahead of Leon as the doors slid open to reveal the training chambers, the lights coming on as she did so. It was quiet, being that only Leon and herself were here, and would allow her a greater degree of focus than she normally had with the other groups of Padawans.

”There’s a hell of a lot of things I could stand to learn,” Koemi laughed as she looked around, examining the devices along the far wall. She continued to walk, looking at each carefully, ensuring she didn’t actually touch any before looking back at Leon. ”You sure you wanna do that to yourself?” she laughed. ”What am I saying? You’re a glutton for punishment. Of course you do,”

Leon laughed, “I’m great at fighting, I’m just allergic to getting to getting hit.

His hand slipped up to the mottled skin of his cheek, he couldn’t remember the last time he’d thought about the scar. That’s when he realized just how covered in scars he was. It was a strange feeling. He’d grown up being told that scars were marks of honor. That to earn your scar was to earn your manhood, but now as his fingers traced the skin he wasn’t sure he felt that way.

He let his hand fall away as Komie examined each of the tools she could choose from.

I’m just trying to make sure you can land a sneak attack,” he laughed, shaking his head.

Now quit stalling and choose—Oh, Nevermind, I know what we’ll do,” said Leon with a mischievous smirk.

The Marksman-H Training Remote was hands down his go to exercise when he was bored in hyperspace. Leon called the control for the remote into his hand.

Wait, have you been given a training saber yet?” he asked.

Koemi turned in time to watch as the remote buzzed across the room to Leon’s hand, raising an eyebrow as it did so. She’d seen many of the other younglings training with them before, eyes closed or covered as they deflected stun blasts. It seemed simple enough.

”Other than when Hera showed me her’s, I haven’t even touched a lightsaber yet, let alone one of my own,” Koemi replied, walking across the room towards him. The memory of Leon and Hera on Chandrila, cutting through the men who had attacked the military museum, caused her some hesitancy. Unlike the younglings, that day those two were a force to be reckoned with. Something unlike anything she had ever seen before.

”Sure, I’ll give it a go,” she said cautiously yet with a smile. ”Something tells me this is more of a lesson for making fun of you rather than actually learning to use a lightsaber though,” she chuckled before turning her head to the wall that held a variety of training hilts. While they weren’t there to simply claim, they were there for anyone to use so she picked one and held out her hand. Closing her eyes, she tried to call the weapon to her grip. As it slapped into her palm and her fingers wrapped around it, she opened her eyes with a beaming grin. ”Look at that! I’m getting better already!” she laughed before igniting the blade, the bright blue plasma glowing around them.

You do know, I know, you make jokes when you’re nervous right,” he said, flashing her a teasing grin. He rolled his shoulders and they were still stiff, but it felt good to work them out a little.

He watched as she stepped over to the rack. He was curious which hilt she was going to pick. She called one to her hand and ignited it. She was clearly excited, but he couldn’t stop himself from saying, “See what you can do when you put your mind too it!

I’m kidding, good job, telekenisis isn’t easy,” he pressed a button on the remote and the little ball popped up into the air with a PSSS!.

Since this is your first time, let’s get the hang of it before we get crazy,” he pulled his saber and ignited it. Daybreak’s pale yellow blade burst out of his hilt like a ray of sun cutting through dense foliage.

Everyone starts in the same form,” he adopted the basic stance for Shi-cho. “For the first run through we will go eyes open,” he clicked a button on the control and the remote began to orbit him. Leon watched Komie as the bouncing ball drifted toward his left flank.

Then—PSSSH!—DOW!—BZZT!

Leon’s weapon returned to the center and he waited, “Feel the remote with the force,” it fired he deflected, “Don’t anticipate the attack,” two more shots and two more deflections, his eyes hadn’t left hers, “trust yourself,” he said, clicking the control. The remote stopped orbiting and hung in place.

He smiled, “Blue looks good on you,” he said, pressing the control and sending the remote after her.

The pale blue of the weapon in her hand was mesmerizing to say the least but as Leon began demonstrating the proper form, she finally pulled her attention away from the blade and back to him. Leon had training as a warrior long before Koemi had ever even contemplated following this path but watching as he moved, his focus not even on the remote, was enough to demonstrate that she had a long way to go before she could even consider being comparable to a shadow next to him.

”How the hell are you doing that??” Koemi asked in awe, her jaw slightly agape. Trust herself, he says. She could trust herself in a variety of ways but not getting shot seemed a bit beyond her. Nevertheless, she did her best to mirror the stance he had demonstrated as the remote made it’s way towards her.

”You think so?” she asked, her focus glued on the remote as it buzzed around her. ”It’s definitely my favorite colour,” As she finished speaking, the remote elevated itself above her head and fired its first shot. Koemi quickly took Leon’s advice and let her instincts guide her, angling the blade across her chest and catching the yellow bolt, dissipating it within the beam of plasma. ”Hey! That wasn’t so hard!” she laughed. Again, the remote tried moving behind her but Koemi quickly spun on her foot and caught a second blast with ease. ”Well now I feel stupid for being nervous,” she continued to laugh as she deflected a third shot.

Yet as it is with all things, overconfidence and cockiness would get the better of her. Perhaps the remote was more intuitive than she had expected, perhaps Leon had increased the difficulty without her seeing him, but the mechanical orb quickly zipped below Koemi’s outstretched arm and managed to land a shot on the left side of her ribs, singing her robes and causing her to wince. ”Ouch! What the hell?!” she exclaimed, losing her focus. Again the remote pulled away and fired, this time landing a shot on her right shoulder blade. Frustrated, she took a swing at the remote and missed. ”Get back here you little piece of…. Grr!”

Leon’s smirk widened as Komie warmed to the task. She started off strong, and then she lost focus. Baudelaire’s brow went up. He could feel his eyes roving over her form almost automatically picking out deficiencies, but keeping them to himself. This was the first time she’d ever held a lightsaber, and she’d managed to block the initial attacks.

Leon clasped his hands behind his back and began to circle Komie and the remote. He switched the remote into manual and took control. His mischievous little smirk settled on his lips. The orb darted in under her outstretched arm, and he pulled the trigger. The orb zipped up to her shoulder and fired. Komie was pissed, Leon smiled.

Take a breath, the more flustered you get the harder it is to defend,” he said while firing on her twice from opposite sides. Leon was generally surprised by how well she moved. Her natural instincts were pragmatic and honestly, the only time she got into trouble was when she stopped listening to them.

How could he help with that?

The orb fired once more then chortled the end of the session before dropping into a neutral hover.

I’ve got to be honest, Komie, you did really well,” he said, “My first time, I got zapped nine outta ten,” he laughed. “Tell you what, I’ve got an idea,” Leon reached out with the force and snagged a blastvisor from the rack. “Put this on, don’t argue, no I’m not gonna do anything weird!

Once she had it on and was ready, he’d say, “Empty your mind. Focus only on the remote. Trust yourself.

Koemi, frustrated from the irritating pain in her ribs and shoulder, bit her tongue as Leon told her to breathe. She had to remind herself that while much of her youth she had been a level above her peers, she was now amongst those who were much the same as her. Even so, failure and pain were not exactly encouraging.

”How exactly am I supposed to stay calm when I’m getting blasted by a-” she stopped. This was exactly what he meant and flying off the handle wasn’t going to do her any benefit. Instead she took a deep breath and tried to center herself, much as the Master’s who instructed her introduction classes had told her to.

”Thanks,” Koemi muttered with a faint smile but as Leon tossed her the blast visor, she caught it with her free hand with a bewildered look. ”Wait, how-”

“Don’t argue,”

And she zipped her lip, quickly shaking her thoughts from her head as Leon said he wouldn’t try anything weird. Instead, she simply did as she was told and placed the blast visor on her head. ”Not sure how this is going to work,” she finally replied. ”I can’t see a damn thing,”

Regardless, she returned to the stance he had demonstrated and prepared herself. Soon after, she could hear the remote take flight once again as it buzzed back and forth around her. At first she tried focusing on utilizing her sense of hearing but a quick blast to the calf told her that it wasn’t the correct method. She wanted to complain but not wanting to make a fool of herself in front of Leon, she instead took another deep breath and stretched out her mind.

Then it all made sense, what he was trying to show her. She didn’t need her eyes or her ears to know where the remote was. She could see it in her mind’s eye, floating off to her right. As it fired, she angled the blade and felt the impact of bolt on plasma. Twice more it fired, twice more it deflected. The remote rounded behind her and she turned, catching two more. ”Look, I’m not gonna say you’re right but-” she paused to catch another blast. ”I get it now,” she said with an embarrassed smirk.

Leon smiled as he watched her wrestle with her understanding. In his mind, there wasn’t a best way to learn the force. There were the methods you were provided and then the force itself, until you could decipher between the two, application and practice, didn’t mean anything.

Then he watched it click.

Komie’s movements were lightning quick. No training at all and she was taking to this like a gungan in water, but this was where she’d gotten too cocky before. Would she be able to master herself? That was the real test of a Jedi. One that he was still working on, but one that was important nonetheless. He’d never considered taking a padawan. Hell, he still considered himself one, but watching her now…

He clicked the remote off and caught it, “I’ll put a recommendation in for you, to get a blade, you’re ready.

Leon watched as she pulled the blastvisor off, that same single rogue lock of blonde hair drifting into her face. His eyes lingered on it a little longer than they should have, and he found himself shaking his head and looking anywhere else than in her direction, “Alright, this is a tour right? Have you seen the hangar yet?

As Koemi pulled the blast visor off her head, it would reveal a prideful and smug look as she moved to blow the stray lock of hair from her vision. Of course she wouldn’t have been able to accomplish the task without Leon’s guidance but she would never say it out loud. There was no way in hell she’d give him the satisfaction. Even so, she appreciated the lesson. Whether he knew it or not, she had come to respect him enough that taking his advice wasn’t such a horrible thing.

”Maybe before long I’ll be the one teaching you a thing or two,” she teased as she held the visor on her hip, briefly catching his attention lingering on her but as he turned away to obviously divert his eyes, she couldn’t help but smirk.

”I mean, I got here somehow, didn’t I?” she retorted to his question with a playfully snide smirk before moving to replace the visor and the saber in their proper places. She then spun on her heel to face Leon again, walking towards him before coming to a stop a few paces away. ”You can show me again though,” she added, still smiling albeit more innocently than before.

Leon smiled inwardly as Komie’s expression under her blastvisor was one of pride and triumph. A part of Leon wondered if he was helping to create a monster. He quickly decided he was and was totally fine with it.

Baudelaire strode over to the area where Komie had chosen her saber and plucked a multi-colored cube from the rack. He remembered giving one of these to Ezra back on Ellora. Of course he’d mastered the thing in a week and came back asking for a harder one.

Why would I take you to the main hangar?” he asked with a laugh as he turned back to her, “Catch,” he called tossing the force puzzle in her direction.

That’ll help with the mental gymnastics of telekinesis and it’ll lay the groundwork for telepathy, which if I’m being honest, I’m not thrilled for you to learn,” he said, teasing her back.

Ya know, for someone being given special treatment you’ve been pretty mean today,” he said, chin up and hands clasped behind his back as he stepped out of the training area and back into the corridor. Brighthome had multiple hangars. There was the main, which is where most of the refugees from Ithor had been herded through, and then there were smaller one’s that housed the personal ships of the members of the order.

Leon stepped up to the nearest lift and pressed the call button. He turned back to Komie, “So, any idea if they have you seeded for a master?

Catching the small cube with both hands as it was tossed to her, Koemi quickly gave the apparent toy a once over. It seemed simple enough, more of a plaything for children than a training aid if she were to guess but as she tried to twist the pieces, they remained locked in place. A puzzled expression overcame her but she soon understood what its purpose was meant to be though it was quickly replaced with a subtle smirk as Leon made his telepathy comment.

As she followed Leon out of the training chambers, the door sliding shut behind them, she continued to analyze the puzzle in her hands before finally looking upwards and realizing that Leon and his damned long legs had taken him further along than her own miniscule steps had in comparison. With a quick jaunt, she caught up to him.

”Aww, I’m sorry,” she replied with a pout though the same mischievous glint in her eyes never dissipated. Quickly it faded back into a smile as she elbowed him in the ribs, still aimlessly fiddling with the toy in her hands. ”I promise I’ll be nicer to you in the future. Can’t have a little Padawan going around hurting your feelings in front of everyone else,” she teased playfully.

In response to his next question as they waited for the lift, Koemi shrugged with her focus on the puzzle once more. By now she had it held ahead of her, hovering slightly above her open palm. ”Nobody tells me anything around here,” she replied, trying to divide her focus between the teaching aid and their conversation and getting nowhere with the former. ”I mean, the Masters tell me I’m a quick learner and it won’t be long before I get to be sent on assignment, but they haven’t given me any names yet,”

As the lift beeped and the doors slid open, Koemi took an energetic half jump into the elevator and looked up at the man beside her. ”What about you? Have they asked you to take on your own Padawan yet? I overheard some of the Masters talking about accelerating some of the youngling’s training after what happened on Ithor,”

No you’re not,” he shot back with a playful smirk resting on his face, that is until she elbowed him in his bruised ribs. Leon winced and sucked in air, “You’re a bully,” he pouted, before flashing her that mischievous grin.

Baudelaire smiled inwardly as Komie became rapt by the puzzle. He listened as she explained her situation, and nodded, “Yeah, when I first got here I was bounced from Knight to Knight,” he shrugged, “Try not to stress it. From what I’ve seen so far you’ll be picked up quick,” he said with a reassuring smile.

The doors slid open and he added stepping on to the lift, “Oh and no one will ever tell you anything. It’s pretty annoying” he laughed.

Not yet, I’m sure it’s coming though,” he reached up, pinching the bridge of his nose, “I’ve been assigned to a task force dedicated to rebuilding a Jedi space station.

The lift slowed then the door’s opened. There were a handful of ships in the bay. Each one was clearly a personal ship. The Freebird was to the right, and Leon started heading that way, “C’mon, I’m dying for a coffee, I’ll show you around my ship.

Leon strode up The Freebird’s boarding ramp and greeted Peetwo and Charlie. Peetwo landed on his shoulder and turned around peering at Komie, “Wow, Peetwo doesn't normally show anyone this kind of attention, even if it is kinda creepy,” The little droid’s head whipped around and glared at Leon, then it leaned in a nuzzled him.

Charlie the pilot/protocol droid made an appearance as well, “Greetings Master, how may I be of assistance?
You could stop calling me master,” he tried.
I will try, master.

Leon sighed, then made his way to his lounge.

You want anything?” he asked, pulling a bag of coffee out of a drawer, “Feel free to raid the fridge.

If she checked she’d find bottles of water, a few beers, a carton of blue milk, and four Emryc Energy drinks.

The talk of ‘Master and Padawan’ was one that most of the learners aboard Brighthome likely yearned for, but for Koemi it was just another ‘meh’ type of thing. Sure, she was learning cool shit like how to wield a lightsaber or how to make things float with her mind but in the end, much of what she had done thus far had basically been… school. Boring.

As Leon made his way up the ramp of his ship, the young Padawan admiring it after she had peeled her eyes away from the puzzle in her hands, she scrunched her nose upward with a smile.

”You drink caf? Gnarly,” she teased before following him on board.

The droid PeeTwo was fucking adorable in her mind, her focus now entirely taken away from the puzzle. Instead, as her hand that remained holding it fell to her side, the other lifted as she tried to coax the little droid over to her.

Where did you get this little guy?!” she cooed, speaking to Leon but in a tone that would hopefully encourage the droid to hop over to her hand.

Either with or without the droid, Koemi would turn to see the rest of the ship and it was… immaculate. Everything was in a proper place, upright and sorted away. In comparison to her own dormitories on the station, even with how little she owned, she felt like even standing on the floor was tainting it’s ambience. ”The fuck…” she whispered as she took it all in. ”The droid spends his day cleaning up after you or what?” she teased, tenderly stepping across the room to the minifridge.

Emryc Energy in hand, Koemi plopped herself down on one of the seats in the common area and popped the tab, the tangy aroma pleasing her. Now this was how one should get their caf buzz. ”So this ship is yours, huh? Mama Hera finally let you learn to fly?” Koemi teased as she set the can down and crossed her arms on the table ahead of her, smirking at Leon as he prepared his old man’s drink.

Leon returned her scrunched features with a judging glance of his own, “You don’t?

Peetwo’s photoreceptors fell upon the newcomer. It quirked it’s head to the side then looked over the Leon and back to the girl. It was clear to the little droid that she wanted affection and he calculated how taxing it would be. Peetwo sauntered forward and hopped up onto her shoulder, nuzzling in. Human’s were so easy…

Leon set to making his caf. He started a pot of water and weighed out his beans. He set up his carafe and weighed out the ice. He could hear Komie talking shit, but this little ritual was the only thing that kept him sane some days.

I’m a big boy, Komie, I can clean up after myself,” he laughed, while pouring water over the filter and filling it with the ground coffee. It smelled amazing. He closed his eyes and took it in. Then began his pour.

Actually, me and Ezra Thorne stole it,” he chuckled, pausing his pour for a few seconds then continuing again, “To clarify Hera was stoked when she found out,” his mischievous little grin settled in on his lips, "Because we stole it from a Black Sun Enforcer."

He poured the last bit of water he needed and checked to make sure the ice was melting evenly, “Ya know, we’ve known each other for a pretty good amount of time, but I feel like I know nothing about you,” he looked down at the Emryc Energy in her hand and chuckled, “You’re not gonna sleep for a week. Those are special edition."

Wanna swap our tragic backstories?” he said with a cynical grin.

Koemi tried to listen to Leon as he explained his procurement of the ship they were in, but her focus was more dialed in on the little BD unit that remained perched on her shoulder. Even though it was a machine, a programmed personality coded in a metallic shell with wires and circuit boards, she couldn’t keep herself from bringing a finger up to its head as she tickled under the photorecepter with a gleeful chuckle partnered with a beaming grin.

”I suppose being a Jedi comes with perks,” Koemi replied, glancing over at Leon as she continued to interact with PeeTwo. ”Anytime I steal anything, I have to haul ass if I want to keep it,” she finished jokingly though every word was the truth.

As she took another sip from the drink in her opposite hand, she could tell that Leon was only too right. Her heart began to race, her leg began to jitter. At that moment, all those physical drills the Masters insisted the younglings participate in didn’t sound so bad. Hell, they almost sounded… fun. An odd occurrence, since she’d usually find any damn excuse she could to keep from running laps around the station with her classmates.

”Not much to tell,” she answered, her smile faltering briefly though not entirely. Talking about herself wasn’t something she was akin to. Then again, she could count on a single hand how often she had even been asked about her past by anyone other than security at shopping outlets. Still, if there was anyone in the galaxy she felt comfortable sharing stories with, it would be the loveable dork across from her. As she turned her attention back to PeeTwo, she would finally reply. ”Why don’t you go first and I’ll decide if you’re worth it,” As she finished, she cast another glance back at Leon mirroring his smirk.
