Grace had brought @Raanil Chal aboard her Skipray blastboat only a couple hours ago. The man had assisted her in a grand theft of nearly two hundred heavy disruptor rifles from the planet Nar Shaddaa. As payment for his assistance, she promised the mercenary both a cut of the profits and a personal ship. The payment she would gain from half the disruptors would far outweigh any costs to herself.

Of course, if they were going to sell the disruptors, then they would have to sell at a black market. Everyone in the galaxy knew they were extremely illegal weapons, and the only place to buy them would be at the consortium's black market.

The woman flew through space with the chiss on board her ship. As they entered Ryloth's atmosphere, she would explain "My organization has a place to sell these kinds of things, a Black Market of sorts. We can get you supplied there, and I have a ship for you in the space port if you'd want it."

The chiss hadn't seen much of the galaxy since he left Csilla, almost six years ago.
He went briefly to Coruscant, to see what all the fuss was about. He found a planet where the jedi would starve the little man with a benevolent smile on their faces, where crime was as common as in the hutt space, where anybody with an ounce of power was corrupted.
He visited Rhen Var, having heard its snow-covered peaks were similar to those of his home planet.
The mountains were there indeed, but below, instead of the laborious, cultured communities that thrived on Csilla, he found only camps where derelicts got by around huge, half-destroyed machinery.
Finally he reached Nar Shaddaa, and the rest is history, so to speak.

Raanil thoughts run through his brain, as the stars run outside the transparisteel of Grace's skippray.
He heard his new associate telling him something about their operations, but the sudden change in his life distracted the chiss from the moment.
Him, Grace and their little criminal enterprise were headed to Ryloth, home planet of the twi'lek.
The merc was curious to see what would disappoint him this time.

The skippray entered the atmosphere of the planet, and outside the viewport slided arid planes, canyons and humble towns.
Not the center of the universe, to be sure.
Finally, the ship would begin its descent right above Lessu, one of the biggest spaceports and commercial hubs of Ryloth, as Grace was explaining.
The merry band get off the skippray, and Grace confered with the twi'lek in charge of their parking spot for a moment.
The woman would then point at an unassuming shop right across the beaten earth street.
< Gandar's Food Emporium >
Read Raanil
< Sure, i could eat, i guess >
Grace passed past the chiss, an enigmatic smile on her face...

Everything on Ryloth had been going swimmingly since they had set up their black market. A steady supply came in from Denon and their pirating expeditions and they had successfully drummed up enough business to move product on a regular basis. Word had spread among the underworld. If you needed something on the down low to get the job done, Gandar's was the place to go. Whether it be firearms, illegal tech or restricted droids, Kist and his crew had you covered. If you had the credits of course.

At this point the market was just about running itself. Kist's second just needed a little more experience and they would be ready to step up and take over the daily operations. The opportunity for one final lesson would present itself with Grace's last communication. Her mission on Nar Shaddaa had been successful and she was to return with their biggest shipment yet. The mother load! 200 disruptor rifles! Just the score they needed to put their next plan into motion.

Kist and his assistant had worked around the clock to prepare for her arrival. There was now plenty of space to store the new shipment and as she approached she would find him ready to receive. "Grace." Kist greeted her with a slight bow of his head. The other that followed would receive nothing but a cold stare.

While Raanil was busy taking a look around the spaceport, Grace was slipping a Twi'lek security office one hundred credits to keep quiet. Her assistants, B3 and Havvs, each pushed three large floating crates which were stacked on top of each other. To any onlookers, there were simply crates of exotic spices, making their way to the local food emporium.

The nikto mercenary would take a moment to complain about the weight of the crates, "Uh boss, these things are kriffing heavy. My back is killing me." Grace would simply roll her eyes before saying, "Nice try Havvs, but you two are pushing. It's what you're paid for..." The droid would then quietly announce "But you don't pay me at all miss Grace..."

The woman would chuckle as the chiss eventually made his way to their black market. He assumed they were there for food. As her old associate and friend addressed her, Grace would bow as well. "Kist my friend. I hear things are going well here. I'm sure you know about the exotic spice shipment from Nar Shaddaa. This man helped me procure the goods. He is a new hire to our business."

The woman would gesture for Raanil to introduce himself. After that, the individuals moving the crates would finally make their way to the store front. Each of them looked quite exhausted.

< Havvs, what are we looking for in a food shop? >
The nikto gave Raanil a crooked smile, strained by the weight of the crates.
< Why, someone to sell our "spice" to, eh? >
Havvs then winked and entered the shop, huffing and puffing.
The chiss followed Grace's crew into the emporium, where the crime lord herself was jabbering with a shady looking bothan.
Having seen Raanil, the girl introduced him to the shop owner, whose name was Kist.
The man didn't make any effort to hide his distrust to the newcomer, instead stared at him with coldness.
Following Grace's example, Raanil bowed, although with a little too much stiffness to be seen as sincere.

< Honored to make your acquaintance, master Kist. Or is it Gandar? i got confused >
The bothan didn't make any comment, but raised a hand and motioned to follow to the back of the shop.
Raanil eyed Grace, which shrugged.

As soon as the duo joined Kist in the back, the bothan pressed a button on the wall.
A mechanism began turning the living quarter into a display worth several hundreds years in the brig.
The merchant bunk revealed multiple racks of military-grade blasters in every shape and form, while the lockers against the wall became an exhibit of multiple droids and droid parts.

< Nice collection. Where's the food, though? >

"Indeed." Kist's cold stare would turn to friendly again as he addressed his boss. "Just a few finishing touches and everything will be as planned. Seems good fortune as come to you as well, Grace. I hear the latest shipment of spices you have procured is exceptionally rare." A flash of greed would light his eyes as he thought of the credits they would make, but they also flashed with admiration. The leader of the Zann Consortium just had a way about her. Such power, such efficiency. Kist had yet to regret a single moment of their partnership. Well, until the Chiss began to speak.

Grace had just literally introduced by name yet it had already seemed to confuse him that his name was different than the sign out front. What was he to do? Plaster his identity across all of their highly illegal operations?! Not to mention the bow he offered lacked any appropriate form when addressing a superior. Was there no etiquette on Csilla?! Kist had the urge to slap the Chiss across the face, but he had to remind himself that he was here under the employ of Grace. If this character had managed to help her score such a load he must be beneficial in some way or another. So, Kist kept his mouth shut and beckoned them to follow him upstairs to the living quarters.

Now that the group was safely behind closed doors, Kist would use his data pad to override the security protocols and with the push of the master switch the hidden compartments would spring to life. Several would be full of various blasters, tech and droids, but most had been emptied to receive such a large shipment. "Havvs, B-3. If you will." Kist said with a smile as he gestured for them to start unloading. However, the smirk would quickly fade as the Chiss spoke again.

Collection?! Like this was some sort of hobby or family past time! Blood, sweat and tears had been poured into this operation. He risked life, limb and freedom to get this market up and running! Yet it seemed all this character could think of was filling his belly. "The food?" Kist's tone was cold as ice. "Did you not see it on your way in? And what am I to call you? You've yet to tell me your name. I assume you have one?"

Grace would chuckle a bit as Kist mentioned the contents of her latest shipment, they were quite rare indeed. Disruptors were outlawed in every corner of the galaxy, selling them would result in top dollar results. The group of duros they stole the weaponry from were not simple thugs, they were part of a small organization known as the Tenloss Syndicate.

"You're certainly correct, but don't forget to save some for later... I have an idea about how we might copy the recipe. Making the dishes ourselves saves credits after all, and could provide a far more steady supply." Grace knew Kist was cunning enough to understand her drift, but figured her new mercenary friend would be quite confused.

As the bothan lead the way to the back of the building, Grace would encourage her small entourage to bring the goods along. "Well, you two heard the man, get to work." Havvs would give an exhausted "Y-yeah. Sure thing boss." and B-3 would follow.

Grace would quickly catch on that Kist wasn't incredibly pleased with the mercenary. While a great fighter and soldier, it was clear that Raanil had a lot to learn about the underworld and how it all worked. She would simply shake her head slowly as the mercenary mentioned food and Kist became somewhat insulted.

Trying to keep the peace, the woman would explain "Kist, Raanil here is new to our operations and ways of life. It will take him some time to get situated. I brought him here to help with the second phase of my plan..."

Grace would walk over to a metal table in the back room and lay out a large blueprint of what appeared to be a Rylothian prison. She would begin to explain, "This building is Lessu Maximum Confinement, a prison to some of the most dangerous people on the planet. Three of these individuals are weaponsmiths... I think you can both tell where I'm going with this."

Kist behavior amused Raanil.
The bothan threw an hissy fit over the merc comments, which increased Raanil fun even more.
The chiss, prone to boredom, enjoyed teasing the pompous type and Kist sure was one of them.
He conducted himself like he was the greatest master mind of the galaxy, when in the chiss eyes he was but a glorified accountant.
< Where are my manners? name's Raanil, of house Chal > Raanil cracked a grin staring at the bothan.

Grace intervened in their little spat, defending her new employee.
Nor his boss nor Kist seemed to understand Raanil was merely toying with his new acquaintance.
No, by then he knew Grace well enough to read trough her facade of naivity and thought she was just trying to avoid a diplomatic incident. At least, it seemed plausible.
The girl wasn't easy to figure out, the merc could give her that; and, just like in sabacc, bluffing was a powerful instrument in the underworld.

Grace was laying out a blueprint of a prison and, without any more jibber jabber, would introduce her associates to the new steps of her master plan.
The rylothian prison looked like a nightmare even from stained paper: a large, isolated fortress protected by both organic and droid guards, automated emergency calls for every single breaking of protocol measures, heavy artillery covering the approach both by land and by air.
Raanil had little experience breaking in prisons. Sure, he broke in plenty of time in heavily defended flats or villas, but a prison? that was another thing entirely.
Feeling the time for some encouragement had come, the chiss would reach under his poncho and grab his trusty canteen, to then gulp some flameout.
< Who are we breaking out, boss? >

Kist let out a huff though his long snout as Grace tempted to ease the tension building in the room. Many things he was, but patient was hardly one of them. The Bothan tended to be over serious, a product of his upbringing or perhaps his ambition just kept him on edge. It consumed him really. What else really mattered except for power and wealth? This operation was key to the revival of the Zann Consortium. It required dedication and constant vigilance. Breaking balls and joking around was for children...

Kist shook away the thought as Raanil introduced himself. He would do good to remember that not all shared his way of thinking, as much as it may annoy him, and that those like the Chiss were vital to the business. Someone had to do all the punching and shooting after all. Perhaps they could put aside the difference and find some common ground. Perhaps he'd just claw his other eye out. Time would tell. "Kist Ke'kolu." The formalities had been exchanged.

Grace would go on to explain the rest of her plan as she presented some blue prints and told them of some prisoners with a certain skill set. It was ambitious indeed and if they could produce a steady supply of these disruptors the Consortium coffers would bulge for sure. However, this was no minimum security facility. Breaking anyone out would prove quite the feat. "Initial thoughts, Grace? Take it by force? Or something more...covert?"

It seemed her plan would grab the attention of both her associates. Maybe this would give them something to come together over. She would first address Raail's question, as to who exactly these three people were. Grace would elaborate, "I'll show you..." she would then pull out a holodisk that would project holographic headshots of each convict as she spoke.

"We'll start with the oddball of the group. Olraka, a wookie tinkerer originally born on Nar Shaddaa. He was arrested several weeks ago for selling home made thermal detonators to a small time swoop gang."

The woman would then swipe her hand across the disk leading to the next holographic head. "Yolen Volzak, a nogori assassin and expert rifle maker. He was arrested only three days ago for possession of disruptor tech. This makes him a prime candidate..."

She would then continue, "Finally, this leaves us with Mohan Bovac. He was a local twi'lek shopkeeper, but his shop sold a lot more than blasters. He was caught illegally modifying regular blaster rifles into repeating blasters."

As she concluded her briefing of the individuals, Kist would raise the ultimate question. How did they plan on breaking these individuals out? This was no ordinary prison after all. Grace would have to suggest the more covert option. "Unfortunately, we don't have the manpower for a fontal assault. On top of that, we would have the ISC on our backs if we pulled a stunt like that... We'll have to do things quietly, but I don't have an exact plan of attack yet. I brought this up before you two because I though you both may have some ideas..."

Grace went on explaining her plan. Well, her idea.
There wasn't really a full plan yet, she instead asked for suggestions to her associates.
Of course, Raanil agreed with the crime lord that a frontal assault would be suicidal, but even a sneaky approach would present a serious risk for their lives.
As far as they knew, the empire was looking for them and their precious cargo. The Imps had spies and informers all across the outer rim and they would certainly learn about the Zann girl in a whiff if only she or her employees made a slip.
Which they probably would, considering the prison level of security.

Raanil chugged some more flameout and looked at Kist.
He didn't like the man, but one of the things the chiss hated the most was collateral suffering.
After all, that was the reason why he was in this situation, and lost both home and kin.
True, the bothan was an uptight nerf herder, but did he deserve to be killed by the imps for something he didn't even knew about?
The merc could play cynical all he wanted, but honor was quintessential in his upbringing, whether he wanted or not.
Plus, Kist had opened his home for them; grumbling and for a fee, but still.

Another gulp of strong liquor ran through Raanil's throat. He was beginning to feel dizzy, which was often a prelude to problems.
< Grace, you know i love credits just as much as the next fellow >
The Zann heir raised her eyes from the blueprint.
< But don't you think it would be better to lay low for a couple of weeks? The empire is already looking for us,or at the very least had placed a bounty on our heads. Dank Farrik, there could be an hired gun outside the door, for all we know! >

Kist listened closely as Grace told them of the prisoners they hoped to free. All three of them sounded like they had experience with weaponry and more importantly they were all willing to work outside the law. If they could be freed and recruited she just may get her wish for producing disruptor tech. A steady supply of such sought after illegal tech could make a name for the Consortium across they galaxy, not to mention it would bolster their own arsenal. Only one hurdle though. Breaking them out sounded damn near impossible.

As annoyed as Kist had been with this Raanil character, they did make a valid point. After such a big heist was it advisable to jump right into a prison break? Kist was pretty sure he had made it off Denon without making the Imperial most wanted list, but at this time he had no way of knowing. "It's a risk." He agreed with Raanil. "But one we may need to make before our next move." He wouldn't speak openly about their plans in front of the Chiss yet until he knew they had been informed by Grace. "One thing we do have going for us is that we are currently operating in ISC space. Yes, we do not want them breathing down our necks, but last I heard the were neutral with the Empire. I doubt they would risk invading ISC space. Im sure they have their spies here, but to make an open arrest would show their hand. Should buy us some time until we can get off planet and until then we will have to rely on our security to keep any potential threats at bay." That was his two cents anyways. The ultimate decision would be left to Grace.

Speaking of decisions. They would have to decide on a way to get their hands on those prisoners. As tempting as it was to leave it be, the credits and power they could gain from acquiring them would give them a few steps up in their next venture and they were going to need every ounce of it to pull this thing off. "As far as gaining access to these prisoners, I agree that an assault is out of the question. A stealth operation may even prove too risky now that I've seen the level of security. Maybe another approach all together. We could target the Warden? Black mail, kidnap their family? Something to break them, but keep them quiet until we can get away. Or, perhaps we can slice into the prison system? If somehow we can override the system to transfer the prisoners off planet, we could hijack the transport once it's off planet and then make our escape to neutral space." Kist would pause to let them both think it over.

Grace was a little disappointed as each individual seemed to agree the operation may be too much for them at the moment. Kist brought up exactly what she was thinking however, they were in ISC space, and therefore safe from a direct imperial assault. It would be very unlikely at least. She would give a sigh, but inform them both of this mission's importance...

"There's more to this job then just credits... I'll give you boys the full story, but don't go around repeating this... Few know." The woman would look around the room, make sure no one else was there aside from her associates.

"Nor'baal the Hutt, head of the hutt council and five syndicates will be making a peace treaty with the ISC soon... In his treaty, he plans on banning the Zaa Fenn crime family from the syndicates. The Zaa Fenn are the bulk of the Crymorah Syndicate... If they are eliminated, and we can prove our worth at the same time, then we may have a shot at becoming one of the big Five. Dethroning the Crymorah."

She would look back to the facility's map would a glum look, but would reiterate. "I think you can both understand why we need to pull this off now. We need skills to offer the other syndicates, and no one else will have as large of an illegal tech trade as us... If we can pull this off."

She would listen to the multitude of plans Kist came up with. Intimidating the warden would be a bad idea, Twi'leks were notoriously resistant to such tactics on their home planet... The prisoner movement hijacking may just work though. "The hijacking just might work... What if we sent a message to the prison posing as the ISC and requested a prisoner transfer?"

The prisoner transfer seemed a much better idea, but didn't really adress the doubts of the chiss.
Sure, maybe the empire wouldn't risk upsetting the status quo with the ISC, but could they be confident in that?
The imps were a power crazed bunch, there was no telling what they could do.
Besides, even if a full on stormtrooper ambush seemed improbable, there was still the bounty conundrum.
An imperial assault on a neutral world could have ripercussions on diplomacy, but bounty hunters were pretty much free to operate as they pleased.

Grace, however, didn't seem disposed to back down. The opportunity for the consortium was undountably very tempting, and her time to seize it very limited. Raanil just hoped the girl's aspirations wouldn't turn out to be their doom.
If worse came to worst he could still bail out and leave his associates to their destiny, thought the merc, switching again to his cynical self.
He had enough credits to pay for his way out, at this point. Also, he had a ship, even if he hadn't seen it yet and wasn't a terribly ace pilot, to be honest.

Grace and Kist were discussing about the hijacking, which at that point had become the official plan.
Raanil couldn't figure out how to pull such a complex operation on the naturally suspicious twi'lek. Bribing was out of the question: from what he heard the local guard were well payed and fiercely loyal to their people.
< Maybe we could hack the prison system and request a transfer through that. But we would need an hell of a slicer, and Ryloth doesn't look like the hotspot for the tech type >
Then it struck him. The girl. She was a jedi, or something very similar. They had their wavy-hand mumbo jumbo, maybe she had that too. She could do that thing to a couple of guards and ask them to move the prisoners; no credits, no slicers, just a simple question.
Raanil gulped some more from his canteen.
< Well i mean, you could use your magic jedi powers Grace, and save us some time? >
It sounded a lot more passive-aggressive than the chiss had planned, but the damage was done.
Without realizing it, the force user thing really stuck with Raanil. Grace had promised him an explanation, but failed to deliver.

Kist's furry ears perked straight up as Grace spoke of the importance of the mission at hand. This was not just another job to score some credits or add to their roster, but the very thing that could catapult them to the top. Nor'Baal the Hutt was no bottom level scumbag. They were the head of the karkin' Hutt council. Their power was on par with the various senators and generals of the galaxy, if not more. A deal with the Hutt was risky as any would have heard of their treachery, but even a chance at a spot in the top five was enough to almost make Kist drool. The idea of having that much power was more intoxicating than a dose of spice. After a long blink Kist would refocus. This mission now took the upmost priority.

"Yes indeed, Grace, yes indeed." The Bothan agreed with the Consortium leader. "We will need a monopoly on illegal tech if we wish to reach such heights within the Five Syndicates. By the time the Zaa Fenn are ousted we need to be ready to fill the void. If we can add a steady supply of disruptor tech to our existing networks no one will be able to deny the power of the Zann Consortium."

Grace and Raanil both agreed that hijacking was the best course of action and the Chiss would offer a valid strategy. "Yes, Raanil is correct. We would have to slice directly into the ISC prison system. The transfer request would have to come from within that system for the plan to work." Raanil however would doubt their capability to do so. "I don't know of a slicer capable enough on Ryloth, but I do believe that I could do it myself." With that Kist would press a button on his left vambrace and a computer spike would emerge from a hidden compartment within the piece of armor.

However, Raanil would then bring up Grace's force powers. Kist knew that she was force sensitive, but was unsure of all her capabilities. "Would that be possible?"

It seemed the pair were a bit more on board with the plan, now that they knew the stakes. It seemed the three of them had all agreed hijacking a prison transport would be easier than breaking them out directly. There was only the question of how they were going to pull it off. Finding a slicer with such skills would have been an issue, if not for Kist himself processing such an ability. "Well, well... Full of surprises Kist old friend."

It would be then that Raanil would ask if she could use her mental manipulation abilities to influence the mind of the various prison workers. Unfortunately, doing something like that would be quite complicated. Grace would explain, "It is true that I can use the force to influence the minds of others... However, even if I was a true master of that ability, it only works on the weak minded. People with low amounts of intelligence. While I'm sure many of the guards have low intellects, I could not risk my abilities being resisted by one, or that whole plan would collapse."

It would be then that she activated a button on another holodisk she held. It would project a holographic replica of the planet, and would create a mock flight pattern from the prison to another near by planet... Tatooine. That would work.

"Alright, we'll see if Kist can slice into the prison's holonet then. If so, we'll give them these transfer coordinates, along with the transfer request..."

She would smirk as she looked at Kist, knowing this venture could take them to the next level. "We'll be reaching new heights soon my friend. That means more wealth and power for the both of us. And of course you was well Raanil"

Of course, there was no way of trusting a force sensitive. Even less knowing a crime lord full agenda.
But what choice did Raanil have?
So, he decided to suspend his trust issues for the moment and roll with it.

To everyone surprise, it seemed Kist was the astounding slicer they were looking for.
Maybe this bothan guy wasn't so useless, after all. He apparently could hack into the prison system and request their targets to be delivered where they wanted.
Well, not really. Raanil had hoped the hijacking would happen on the surface of Ryloth, maybe from Lessu to another city, but that wasn't the case: his partners had decided the optimal solution would be from a planet to another.
This plan presented a lot more complexity in the chiss eyes. An hijacking in space would require specialized suits, extremely precise piloting and a top-notch extraction plan. They would also need stealth tech for their vessel, in some capacity, in order to avoid tracking. Naturally, they would also need a state of the art hyperdrive, 'cause sure as hell the retaliation would be swift and they would need to get out of there as soon as possible.
He expressed his doubts aloud, addressing mainly Kist.

Kist sported a rare smile as Grace offered praise for his talents and the picture of a bright future ahead of them. Well, if they didn't get blown to smithereens during the hijack, but that was merely a small detail. "Soon indeed, Grace. The name Zann will carry weight across the galaxy once we're done." The riches and spoils would be a nice addition for sure, but it was the power that Kist yearned for.

Raanil would ask a valid question. They could not simply pull up aside the transport and ask them to pull over. A hijacking in space would be a complicated maneuver, but not one that was impossible. "My contacts on Denon have supplied us with much of the tech necessary for such an endeavor. Anything that might be lacking should be able to be procured." Kist would look back to Grace for final approval. If they were all able to agree the plan could be set in motion.

Grace would then give Kist an approving nod as he explained it was possible to get the job done. On top of that, Grace could provide a vessel to hijack the prison transport. "We can use the Firespray gunship I gave Raanil to hunt down and board the transport. Trust me, a firespray will be more than capable of outgunning even an armored transport."

With that, she would then toss a key fob to the chiss and explain. "You can drive if you'd like. As for now, we need to reach the prison. If you two are ready, we can head out now?"

If the two men would agree, Grace would walk out the food emporium with both her associates and Havvs. It wouldn't be a long walk before they reached a large building. It was a very simple yet effective design, with much of the facility being made of duracrete. "This is the place boys... How close do you need to get Kist? Inside, or do you just need an open data-port?"

When Raanil heard Grace was planning of using his brand new gunship for the hijacking, he hoped she didn't imply he was to be the pilot.
Back on Csilla, when the chiss was in the planetary defence corp boot camp, he passed all the tests with flying colors. All but one: piloting. He hated not having solid ground beneath his feet. He could take off and fly in a straight line, but beyond that the experience was always awful: too many levers, dials and screen to manage at the same time, not considering the actual threats beyond the cockpit. Plus, he had never flown ever since the eye incident, he could only imagine how that would impact his already poor performances.

In the meantine, the trio had reached the prison building: indeed an impressive fortress of duracrete, as portrayed by the blueprint.
As Kist studied the architecture of their target, Raanil approached Grace.
< You don't plan to elect me to official pilot, do you? You want me to shoot something? Fine, Want a strategist? I'm your guy. But flying? Not exactly my strongest skill. I'd suggest Havv to take over the piloting.
Unless Kist here >

The Bothan perked up his ears, hearing his name.
< Has a top of the line astromech up his sleeve >
