Thunderous Beginnings (Hunter RP)

In an article in Plymouth Press: Our very own small town of Plymouth, Oregon has recently celebrated its 110th birthday, when Kevrik Plymouth, a land prospector found the town. The celebration went off without a hitch. Mayor George Plymouth rode a top a float that the high school had built. The float showed Senior John Bendrin dressed up as Kevrik Plymouth with Mayor Plymouth standing next to him. It was a sight to behold. That afternoon there was a special film made by our very own Landric Alvarez, brother to capitalist Juan Alvarez. This film showed the history of the town as well as current going-ons in the town. If you have missed it a special showing of the video will be held on September 13, 2008 in Little Creek Park.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Date: September 09, 2008
Time: 6:00 PM
Thunder bellowed and lightning flashed across the sky, as rain fell from the heavens. This was an average storm for Plymouth, though the residents of the town were prepared for the worst, power failure. If that did occur it would be a week at least before they got the power back on. Family’s sat in their living rooms watching television while eating dinner. A tired office worker works late into the night to finish work that he neglected to finish during the day, though receiving overtime for staying after office hours.
Light danced across the sky and shadows leap out like creatures in hiding. Though these shadowy creatures were not to be concerned with as they were just figments of people’s imaginations, just shadows but something lurked and stalked the darkened landscape. It leapt from rooftop to rooftop at the right moment. No one would hear or see this beast until it attacked. And that’s just what it was going to do.
Alicia, the town librarian, sat quietly at her dinner table. Her house was a small, ranch-style home, made even more empty with the loss of her husband after such a short time together. Laid before her were tarot cards, not particularly set up to tell a fortune or predict an event. Her eyes remained stiff on the one card that changed her life forever.
The thunder boomed and the wind blew as if god was atempting to speak to the inhabitants of the small town. At first the numerous rain stroms had caught Tyler off guard when he first move to Plymouth, he had not anticipated the severity of the weather when he made the decision, but now it was just a minor nusiance.
He sat in his office behind the main alter of the church he was the pastor of, filling out paperwork and setting up his sermon for next sunday. The church had become more of a home than his actual house, which he rarely spent more than a couple days at a time in.
Jason had been driving for quite sometime when the storm hit. He leaned forward, peering over the wheel to try to make out the road through the sheets of rain. He swore as his car hydroplaned and skidded along the road. His tire hit a rock and was punctured. He decided to try and drive with the flat tire rather then put the spare on in this downpour.
Jason only had to drive for about fifteen minuted untill he saw the town of Plymouth. He stopped at the first public building he came to, the church, and parked his car out front. Checking his bootknife he made sure it was secure. He didn't want to take any chances on the demons catching him unarmed. He opened the car door and got out, quickly slamming it shut. He ran to the porch in front of the church where it was dry. The rain was so heavy that his camoflauge fatigues and his tight underarmor shirt were already very wet, fortunatley they would dry quickly. He knocked on the door, hoping that maybe the pastor was inside.
Geoffrey was holed up in a seedy little hotel 8, watching re-runs of Fresh Prince while he relaxed on the disgusting bed.
No, not relaxing he thought, cursing himself, not while MAx and the crew are still unavenged. I'm...preparing, that's all. With his portable police scanner, the former technician monitered the FM/AM airways for alerts to strange deaths, a calling sign of vampires, his sworn enemy.
The sharp knock on the large woodne door brought Tyler back from hgis thoughts and his work. He set his pen aside and walked about from behind the large statue of christ that was the main figure in the long room. Walking quickly through the rows of pews, he wondered who would be out this time of night and in this weather. He stood before the oak door, taking his coat off a wooden coat rack situated on the left of the door and putting it on. The door opened with a loud creak, "Can I help you?"
The beast reached the darkened forest path, many people walked on this path. It scanned the pathway from the rooftop of the residence of one Mr. Curtains, whose house was next to the path. His wife died years ago from a supposed heart attack but he never believed. He raved that a beast had stole his wife's soul. Everyone thought he had gone crazy after his wife died.
No one normally would be walking at this time of night except for Ned Weatherton, who could not rest until he went on a midnight walk. The beast stopped Ned and leapt down from his perch behind him becoming one with the shadows as it hit the ground.
"Santhulana Neduuuu..." The beast whispered and made motions with his right hand.
Ned slowly turned around and gasped. He went weak at the knees and pale. He opened his mouth to scream as a yellow light came out of his mouth the demon grabbed it. He disappeared as soon as he came.
Mr. Curtains opened his door to say hello to Ned because this was the time he normally went by. What he saw was a figure on the ground. He ran over to find Ned in the same state of his wife. He ran inside to call the police.
Directed to Phantom:
Hey Johnny. Mr.Curtains called he said he found Ned Weatherton outside of Little Creek Park Path, dead. Your in that area go check it out. The police scanner blared this to Geoffery, He was raving that the demon is back. I got Allie going out there to get the body and check. Could you just go and check around the area to make sure nobody is around there.
As Alicia looked at the death card, something caught her eye. With death in the middle, on the left of this card was Justice and on the other side the fool. Could this mean something? Why had her eye caught this? She had not especially set the cards out for anything. Something was drawing her to those three cards.
Justice, Death, and the Fool. Arranged in the form of past, present, and future. Alicia immediately saw that she had unwittingly created a divination for herself, much like before. With that, she hesitantly began interpreting its meaning. Justice: living an average life before Death, the life-changing experience? Then there is the mysterious Fool, which may mean that there would be a central figure who will shape the outcome of the future. Even for those who use the 22 tarot cards of the Arcana Major for divination purposes, their exact meanings were cloudy.
The librarian sat back, to look at the other tarot cards splayed out before her on the table, paying more attention, this time, to their arrangement on the table. This was more than just chance, she knew.
Jaques sat in the belltower of the town hall. He shouldn't be up here, but he liked dramatic places, and bells had always had a certain drama about them.
Of course, he also liked hiding away from people, when he was feeling morose.
He felt morose now. It wasn't the best thing, but what could you do? He had just come to this town, and looked forwards to seeing what it was like. He wouldn't stay long though, in case the werewolves came after him again, and hurt the people here, though he could kill them now.
The noise of sirens sounded in the area of the suburbs. Johnny Smith drove toward Little Creek park. Ned's attacker could still be there close by. He closed in on the park. He could see the baseball diamond where he had played ball as a kid and where he and.....he couldn't think about that now. He parked across the street from Alicia's house. He grabbed his flashlight and he got out the car. He headed toward her door. He had talked to Alicia once or twice. He had grown closer to her, in a friendly manner after her husband was killed.
He reached the door and rang the bell. He looked to the park just in case he saw something.
"Is it possible you can let me stay here for a little bit? I got a flat and I just need a dry roof over my head untill the rain clears." Jason looked back at the statue of Jesus in the church, "And I may need to talk with our Savior too."
Tyler had a blank stare on his face for a second to absorb the information, he then suddenly snapped back into focus. " Sure....Come on in. All of gods children are welcome in his house." He said as he stepped to the side of the door to let the man through. As he followed the man in he noticed that he was drenched from the rain. "Do you need some dry clothes or a blanket? I might have some extra in my office if you do."
OOC: I'm going to mooch Dan's idea. Lacking creativity at the moment.
Thorton O'Conner was walking through the streets, head covered in the hood of his jacket. To bystanders, he looked odd. Face down, one hand held to his ear while the other hand could be seen fumbling with something in his pocket. He was flipping through channels on a police scanner. He was looking for something he could get a job out of.
Better yet, a clue to the demons.
He was just about to give in for the night until her caught wind of one in a message, drizzled with static.
"...found Ned Weathe...zzzzzzzzz...Creek Park Path, dead. zzzzzzzz....go check it out. I...zzzzzz...ing out there to get the...zzzzzz...heck. Could you just go and check...zzzzzzz... nobody is around there?"
"Creek Park Path. Little Creek Park Path," he said to himself. Thorton knew the place. He ripped the earpiece from his ear and stored in away in his pocket. He checked the inside of his coat for his gun and placed a hand to his side to check his knife. He began his way toward the Park Path to help investigate.
In a minute, Alicia opened the door, looking at Johnny. "Is there something going on?"
She was oblivious to the event that involved Ned. The rain poured heavily, forcing the librarian to speak louder than usual to allow herself to be heard over the clamor.
He nodded, "Ned Weatherton was found dead behind Mr.Curtains' house. Allie's goin over there to look at the scene and calm down Curtians. I was called to look in the park to see if I could find the suspect. Have you seen anything, Alicia? Anything out of the ordinary?"
He kept looking into the park. He didn't want to lose anymore of his friends. He would catch this bastard whoever did this. He would get them.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

They watched from the top of car. All giggling and laughing with stupid looks on their faces.

"What did he say? What did he say? Alumench...Alumench! What did he say?" One of things said.

The one called Alumench tilted his head, "Anything out of the ordinary....ordinary."

They all laughed then stopped suddenly and said, "Harass Harass....shall we shall we?"

A man walked by the old car. He was wearing a white suit and he had a white pointed goatee. He looked to the things on top of the car, "You three are too rambuncious, back in the bag." He held a black bag open and the three beings hopped in and the man continued his way down the street toward Johnny and Alicia before slowly fading in thin air.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Allie was looking around the place where Ned had died. There was a distinct smell of burnt wood and oil. When she first got here there was feeling of dread and fear but she soon brushed it away. The feeling came back as soon as she smelt the burnt wood and oil. She shivered and stood. This ws becoming creepy.
Jaques frowned. The hair on the back of his neck tingled... it always did when the unearthly was near him. It was like an instinctive reaction.
Looking up, Jaques grimaced in shock. A stranger was standing across from him, staring out at the town. A man in a long white coat, with a silver beard and hair.
Jaques stared at him. Something about the man was peaceful, restfull...
He turned, and smiled sadly at Jaques. Jaques blinked, and the man was gone.
Jaques gave his head a slight shake, and then hurried down the steps, fingering the sword on his belt. Hurrying out into the streets, he looked around, unsure where to go next...
Alicia shook her head. "No. Can I help?"
He looked back over to the park and saw a dark figure crossing the park grounds. He looked back to Alicia and said, "Stay safe alright call me if you see anything."
He ran over to the park shining his light out into the park at the figure, "Stop right there."
The figure stopped and stood still. As Johnny approached him, he noticed that there were more than one person. A group of teenagers, out for a stroll. He continued his way to them.
"Have you guys seen anything weird around here?" He asked.
"No officer we haven't." One of the boys said.
"Alright kids be safe." Johnny said continuing past them deeper into the park.
Lavi:
As Alicia watched the Johnny walk away. She happened to look down to see a small package to the side of her doorway near the wall of her house. It was a plain brown box with plain packing tap on it. No address or anything.
TJ and Niner:
As the pastor and his visitor made their way deeper into the church. Pastor Tyler noticed a cross of the lopsided as if deliberately positioned that. Suddenly the immense smell of burnt wood and oil filled the church.
Alicia stared at the box for several seconds before becoming completely aware that the box was not labeled in any sort of way. She reached down to pick up the thing, but stopped herself. If this was an actual delivery, why didn't someone ring the doorbell for her to pick it up? Or did Johnny leave it for her?
A sixth sense told her that something was going on today, though what that was, she couldn't tell. Then she was reminded of the Fool.
Jaques sighed as he walked the streets. The vision of the old man bothering him. He couldn't.... dispel his curiosity. It was like... a warning of sorts...
Something bad was going to happen to him maybe... Though... he really didn't have anything happening to him right now.
Frowing, Jaques looked up. A church. He liked churches. They were peaceful.
Maybe they'd let him stay there for the moment.
Walking up to the door, Jaques knocked.
