Name: Theraph Ghusk
Faction: The Sith Empire
Rank: Sith Knight
Species: Dathomiri
Age: 39
Gender: Male
Force Sensitive: Has a deep, but still incomplete, understanding of the force.
Height: 6’7”
Biography:
Ghusk was not born on a planet, he was born as a bastard child on a slave freighter. Theraph was separated from his parents and spent the first years of his life as labour in the engine bays of the ship from the age of five onwards. He spent his childhood amid endless cruelty and suffering, growing used to the myriad screaming of pain that rang constantly across the decks. These years spent toiling in the dark would mould his personality, turning him into a cold and hateful being.
It wasn’t until he was fourteen that he was finally discovered by the Exiles. Sensing his strength in the force, they took him from the ship, executing everybody else on board, including his parents. Theraph would train under the strict oversight of his new tutors where he would come to crave mastery over the force, and grow envious of the power wielded by his masters. Throughout his time as an acolyte he studied the nature of the dark side, growing his knowledge of its supernatural properties. By the time he was in his early twenties he was an accomplished warrior and strategist within the ranks of the exiles. But he could have no idea of the suffering he was yet to endure...During a nameless battle on a nameless planet, he and his fleet were ambushed by the republic. The following fleet battle was catastrophic, ships torn from orbit plunged deep into the surface of the world below. The last of his army, battered and beyond exhausted, gathered around their leader for a glorious last stand.
It was a last stand that never came. By all accounts his army was utterly annihilated, orbital bombardments, strafing runs and a well-placed shell was all it took to shatter the will of his troops, and almost destroy him entirely. There was only one survivor of the ensuing chaos, Theraph. His body was wracked with wounds beyond number, when the exiles discovered him, he was seemingly nor living nor dead. What remained of him was dragged off the world, and wrought anew in an eternal iron prison, one designed to house his defiled body. Now Ghusk stalks the galaxy, as a servant to his masters, forever seeking vengeance on the republic that damned him, and to tear Coruscant apart.
Appearance: Ever since his near-death, Ghusk has transformed into a shell of his past glory. His organs and the remnants of his torso are sealed in primitive cybernetic casing, sheathed in a long robe. His nigh-unrecognisable face is concealed from all by a mask of bone and intricately carved ivory. His true body is almost never seen, aside from his arms, which end in talon like claws, inscribed in ancient runes and glyphs.
Personality:
He is an unbearably egotistical person, only looking inward. He uses those around him as a means to an end. Theraph doesn’t have any kind of relationship with anyone around him, even the sith tend to keep him at an arm’s length. Theraph will often become completely focused on a task, ignoring the needs of anybody else so he can achieve it. Ghusk will not tolerate failure and will not hesitate to punish those who do so. He is swollen by pride and does not take kindly to any insults of any calibre.
His own crippled form has turned him not just into a being full of spite, but one wracked with paranoia. He is often overly suspicious of new faces, assuming them to be some part of a plot designed to halt his plans…or kill him. The sith spends most of his time alone, confined to his chambers, he rarely allows visitors to disturb his meditation. Even with his physical form limited he is still obsessed with the dark side to a self-destructive degree, and it has gradually warped his mind, most force users can sense the taint that he is shrouded in. Ghusk derives some sort of pleasure from torturing those around him, either physically or mentally.
Attributes: Ghusk, has spent much of his life understanding the rule and nature of warfare, this made him a well-respected leader among his Order. His skills have only been further refined by his “rebirth”, making him a dangerous opponent to face on the battlefield. He will often choose not to engage his opponent until has a far greater advantage, many Sith and Jedi alike have branded him a coward for this, but he rarely gets entangled in the affairs of the empire he serves, preferring to go on his own expeditions in search of various artefacts. Theraph’s appearance is almost always enough to unnerve his opponent alone.
He relies almost exclusively on his knowledge of the force, and will try to keep his enemies at a distance using force lightning or a force push to pull their feet out from under them. He is most vulnerable once the enemy has closed the gap, his body, although enhanced by various cybernetics is slow moving, making him vulnerable to precision strikes. This is ultimately his biggest weakness. Ghusk is often cold and arrogant, seeing those that oppose him as inconveniences, this has caused him to underestimate many a foe.
Skills:
His skills with a lightsaber are and fights with his own version of Makashi. His technique centres around disarming his combatant to make them a much easier target to kill. While his strength in the force is considerable, his accursed body is altogether a crude and fragile thing, making him weak to precision strikes.
Through his training in the dark side he has learned to shoot force lightning to great effect. Unfortunately, his own cyborg body is a conductor to this deadly power, and long usage threatens to overload his body and destroy him. His ability to manipulate the world around him is respectable, being able to move objects up to the size of a large boulder. The mental aspect of the force has always fascinated him, and through his deep meditation and study he has discovered how to delve deep into the minds of others, extracting information from…and torturing the mind. However, anybody with enough mental resilience can easily deny his attempts.
Gear:
Aside from his crimson lightsaber he only carriers a light blaster pistol and a retractable durasteel blade hidden in his cloak.
Note: I did not create the photo.
Credits go to Shane Walter for his amazing piece of work, give his Artstation some love. (sorry it's absurdly huge, I got no idea how to resize it.)
