- Vaulix watched helplessly as the "lunatic" threw the poison grenade down into the crowd. The initial explosion rocked the crowd and the poison gas began to take its deadly effect on the crowd. Fifteen civillians dropped to the ground by inhalation of the fatal fumes before the gas dissipated into the air. The verpine looked for a potential way down, if he did'nt get down soon he could loose his aquisition and possibly the man would escape. He found his sollution in a nearby patrol airspeeder that belong to one of the now dead ASEC officers. His legs quickly propelled the insectoid to the craft were he lept into the drivers seat. He activated the grav pads and thrusters, jetting off in a curved dip twoards the ground. He realized that he had descended too steeply and pulled the control module back sharply. The airspeeders rear end impacted first and then the nose finally touched down roughly. He shook his head and lept from the now wrecked craft, beginning to run twoards the corridor. He stopped feet from the mouth of the narrow hallway, shouldering his rifle and walking very slowly twoards the mouth. Just as he was about to enter the corridor he backed up against the wall and then did a "SWAT" turn quickly appearing around the corner and firing off a round straight infront of him. -

The round whizzed past Himal, now crouching behind a bin. He did not reveal himself straight away, he had no need for yet another surprise was waiting for his pursuer. While he had been driving down in his airspeeder, Himal had not been lazily waiting, but setting a nasty plasma on a plant in the middle of the corridor. It was a couple of meters from the door where the man with the rifile stood, well within the blast radius, but not within the detonation radius. Himal decided it was time for the chase to begin. He crawled back and slipped into a side door, trying his best to stay concealed, before calling from the doorway "Come on, I don;t have all day!" He then closed the door behind him, not quite stupid enough to stand and watch how well his concealed mine worked.

- Himal gave Vau little credit, thinking the Verp Hunter was just going to rush head first into a close quarters corridor with just a sniper rifle. Vaulix looked around for a possible sollution, knowing it'd be suicide to rush into the corridor like a fool and meet a possible ambush or maybe even a trap. He did'nt think Himal was smart enough not to trap himself in a building but when he heard the door close he gave an audible little chuckle. He turned and ran back twoards the wrecked ASEC airspeeder and began to rumage through the storage modules for anything of use. He found a few sonic detonators and a breaching charge, clipping the detonators to his belt and shoving the breaching charge into the back of his cloak letting it rest in the space where his belt sinched at his waist. He gave the man time to run, but knowing Himal the trail of dead bodies would lead him right to the man. It seemed Himal had ran into an delapidated apartment building. The entrance doors had been shattered and knocked off its hinges by the force of the impact from the ASEC speeder. He shouldered his rifle once more, one hand going out to pull the door open. Soon he hand both hands on his rifle, and he was slowly creeping twoards where he guessed the side entrance was. -

Come out Himal... You coward.

((I never mentioned an apartment building, but okay))

Himal had placed a small comlink with a loudspeaker by one of the upstairs windows, and he placed another one of his victims, dead, as a silouhette. He, himself, was elsewhere in the building, but when he spoke into his own comlink his voice would come out next to the body and it would appear is if he were there. He spoke, "Stop calling me a coward and come and fight me! Your the coward, you obviously are terrified to come upt o me because you know without your precious rifle you're nothing."

Himal was able to watch from his concealed position, which was from he other side of the street. The apartment complex was connected by various paths, walkways and bridges, and Himal had setup the body on one side, while he was now high on the other side. The mercenary would believe he was the body, his voice was coming with it and wall that was visible was the top of the of the back of the man's head, as though he were crouching below the window, and Himal had been sure the hair was very similar and had even put an eyeband on it to emulate his own appearance. His concealed position allowed him to watch and he decided to see if the Hunter would indeed shoot the body. There was no trap concealed there, although he took the time of the distraction to withdraw his scoped pistol and keep the Hunter targeted.

- Vaulix swung his rifle twoards the dead body, shaking his head as he noted the wounds sustained not to mention the blood soaked front of the corpses shirt. This outlaw was trying to outsmart the hunter, trying to make him waste precious ammo on a mere corpse. Vaulix turned and started up a flight of stairs, for a while he dissapeared as he continued to run up the spiraling steps. Minutes later he punched the code panel for the rootop door, the device sparked and shorted out before slowly cracking open. He kicked the heavy barrier ajar and stepped out, looking left and then right. He cursed aloud as he saw nobody atop the building. He would then walk over to the edge and peer down at the walkways and streets. He was just about to give up his search and wait for things to die down before continuing the hunt before he spotted a human head. He narrowed his vision and confirmed Himal trying to ambush him with a scoped pistol. Vaulix was on the high ground, and Vaulix had a clear headshot. There was one round left in this clip, and he hoped it would be the last. He put a bit of pressure on the trigger and squeezed, the rifle jerked back and the round made its exit. The trajectory would carry it through his head, that is if it hit. -

Himal watched the hunter steam into the door of the building opposite and cursed under his breath. He decided to abandon his position in the window, he was a prime target for a sniper. He ran back to the building the Hunter was in. He had no clue where he was though, as he got to the staircase. He had no leads and no clues. He decided to g to the roof, his slugthrower in his left hand, drawing his short sword in his right. Close combat was likely in these cramped quarters. He continued up, carefully.

- The verpine watched as his round narrowly missed the mans head, following him with the rifle while he was running. Vaulix ejected his clip and cursed himself for missing the shot, reaching into one of the slots for extras and popping it in the munitions well. He pulled the slide back and refreshed the supply of rounds to be fired. His aquistion was chasing him now, it was time to give the man a dose of his own medicine. He reached into the back of his cloak and produced the small six by six inch breaching charge. He quickly peeled back the strong adhesive patch and slapped it onto the center of the outside of the door. He would then disconnect the one time remote detonator and open the door. He shouted a few choice expletives before closing the door once more and waiting for Himal to come up. He ran and crouched behind a ventilation shaft uprise. The charge would'nt do death dealing damage but merely disorient or even knock the man out. -

I'm up here coward!

Himal heard the noise from the top of the stairwell. He had given Himal his position. Himal was not an idiot, despite being utterly insane, he was still fairly intelligent. He had sized up his opponent, a sniper, not keen on getting to close. So why would he call me to him? Because he's setting a trap. He must really think I'm an idiot. He's probably standing there with his rifle trained on the door, and will pump a clip into me before I've even tasted the fresh air. Himal was disgusted with the lack of credit he was given, had this man not seen his record? He would not go up that way. He turned and made his way to the fire escape and began to climb the rickety metal staircase as quietly as he could. When he was fairly close, he took a smoke grenade from his belt, armed it and roofed it. Hopefully it would give him a moment of confusion where he could get close to his would be killer. As the air filled with smoke, he climbed onto the edge of the roof, his slug thrower forward, his knife in a defensive hold.

- Vaulix waited and waited, still no Himal. He looked over in the fire escapes general direction when he heard the smoke grenade hit the ground, the white cloud of obsfucating gas was ineffective outside. It merely trailed up into the air instead of spreading around like it should, Vaulix shook his head and sat the detonator on the ledge of the vent uprise. He reached at his waist and unclipped the sonic grenade on his belt. He would wait a few more seconds to prime the grenade and throw it, once it detonated he would make his move. He crouched back behind the uprising and pulled the hood of his cloak up, trying to protect his antennae from the disorienting result of the detonator. -

((Smoke grenades work fine outside, trust me.))

As Himal pulled himself over the edge a sonic grenade sent him flying across the roof, and luckily out of the lethal blast radius of what he believed to be some kind of explosive decive. He stood up a little shakily, but he was in tact. And he saw the hooded man, not ten meters away. He squeezed the trigger of his slugthrower, aiming at the hunter as he ran at him, his blade raised.

- Vaulix quickly rolled out of the way of the lethal slugs, one hand sitting the rifle down as his other reached for the rodian razor stick in its hidden sheath inside of his cloak. In his crouching position he would bring the razor out and in one fluid motion he would stand bracing his feet and swipe left to right his left arm also lifting up to connect with the blade weidling hand in an attempt to knock it off target. If he hit the man there would be two cuts the double bladed "S" shaped razor creating deep slashes when it cut. -

The hunter decided to try and block Himal's blade with his hand. Not a clever idea. His short sword was aiming straight at his hand, and if it connected it would no doubt slice his fingers off. Then again, losing a few fingers was better than a stab in the chest. As the man's own blade came up, Himal took the cut in his left upper arm, a sharp intake of breath as he focused away from the pain as he concentrated on his strike with his sword.

- Obviously Himal wasn't versed in Verpine anatomy, the blade would merely glance off the hard chitinous hand causing a small cut in the insectioids exoskeletal hand. His free hand whipped to the right while the blade glanced off and shaved a bit of the chitinous skin from his hand. With Himals defense now open he would bring his blade up in an uppercut like motion, curving the blade forward in an attempt to jab it up through the bottom of Himals jaw and into his brain. -

((Three hours is not long enough for a bump. I may have gone to sleep))

Himal jumped back, shocked as his blade glanced off of the creature. He realised how lucky he was to jump back in shock as his opponent's weapon sliced through the air where his head had been moments before. He knew he was not getting results. He pulled a deadly thermal detonator from his belt and armed it, but kept the button depressed.

"Okay, you kill me and this goes off. You take a step towards me and this goes off. I take my thumb of this button, and this goes off. This goes off, we both die. How you wanna play?"

(Did'nt want it to get too far down in the list.)

- Vaulix looked down at the thermal detonator, and then back to the lunatic. The verpine also knew the man was bluffing, or was he? Vaulix decided he wasn't going to take a chance with the man. -

Okay, we'll play your little game.

- He backed up twoards the ventilation duct, his free hand snatching up the breech charge and quickly pressing the small red detonators button. The initial blast would blow the door off of its sliding tracks, sending large peices of shrapnel twoards both Vaulix and Himal. The Verpine would be hit in the torso with a particularly large wad of indented metal and sent flying into the vent shaft. He would lay there, still clutching his razor stick and coughing a bit. -

((The breech charge went off didn't it?))

As the Verpine started to back away, Himal shook the detonator.

"Stop! You so much as move a muscle, and I let go of the safety. Then we both go bang."

The Verpine was playing with a bomb. Himal was in no mood for that. In fact, he was in a very bad mood. The detonator had a fuse of one second. As the Verpine decided to blow the door behind him, he ducked, getting hit in the left shoulder by a jagged piece of metal. He tossed the detonator at the Verpine. One. It raced through the air, now closer to the Verpine than Himal, but both well within the blast radius. Boom.

(No, he sat the detonator atop the rise.)

- The thermal detonator exploded, the next few moments of the Verpines life were all but a flash. He felt the heat from the explosion and then the shockwave of kinetic energy carrying him back twoards the ledge of the building. The shrapnel that had sent his flying onto the top of the vent shaft and pinned him there had taken the brunt of the explosion, but melted away and the remnants of the blast affected the Verpine. He barely managed to stay concious, his armor being litterally burnt away by the explosion. He landed in a roll, his body sliding to a stop mere inches from a drop that would certainly end his life. One could credit his survival to his extremely tough skin and the now destroyed Reflec armor. There lay the verpine, large chunks of his armor missing as well as a few major cuts that leaked the greenish vital fluids in a slow drip. He lay there dazed and confused, his weaponry now scattered about the rooftop. If Himal survived that blast it would be a duel of two critically injured survivors of the galaxy. -

((One more frantic moment of drama?))

Himal's armour was built to keep him alive. It was not designed to keep him uninjured. He managed to exhale and crack his eyes open. He was in pain, his lungs on fire. He could feel his armour in tatters, some of it melted into his skin, the rest of him overed in burns. His right ankle was twisted and his left arm stuck out at an odd angle. But he still had his weapons. He wearily pulled himself to his feet, using the debris as support, mainly hopping on his good leg. His headgear had vanished, disintegrated by the detonator. He checked his grenade belt. He had one left. He put it somewhere safe and raised his SMG in his right arm. He saw the Verpine, his chest rising and falling with his breathing. He clicked the SMG. Nothing. The barrel had bent and melted in the explosion. He cursed and drew his pistol. It had three rounds in it. He aimed at the Verpine.

(The conclusion to our dramatic battle? DUN DUN DUUUUUUN!)

- Vaulix slowly stood up, immediately leaping behind the rubble of the now destroyed stairwell. He looked around hoping to find any of his equipment, almost whooping in joy when he felt the butt of his rifle just inches away from his hand. He picked it and laid it in his lap, while doing so he snatched up the last of the sonic detonators. He exhalled, primed and threw the thing over the pile of rubble. It flew threw the air and bounced off the side of the ledge rolling to a stop at Himals feet the man would have four seconds to react if anything. Vaulix gripped his rifle and waited for the explosion, once it happened he would come out shooting and may the best...person win. -
