Ok, let's be frank. It's a heated subject on...well, on every level. Try to keep it professional if you can, and remember, there ARE two sides to every argument. Like Socrates, we argue to come to a better understanding of our world.

Very simply: What do you think about the current Iraq war, it's justification, it's conduct, it's goals?

We believed there were WMDs in Iraq and they were a threat to America and her allies. Obviously, this was not the case. Now that we're in there, we can't simply pull out, we have to fix the mess we created.

I think we're getting close to a resolution and pull out. As soon as the Iraqi government and military can sustain themselves, then we should get out of their ASAP.

Do you think the other justifications, bring democracy, bore any weight, or was it just the WMD thing?

Bush is an evil person and he wants to convert all the Iraqis to christianity.

That's why he invaded.

No. A dislike of a single leader or style of government is not a legitimate reason to go to war. It's illegal to attack another country for the sakes of regime change.

If that's the justification, then it's safe to say that the war in Iraq was illegal. However, the weapons of mass destruction argument, whilst it's also pretty weak, is something of a more justifiable reason. Except for the fact that America should have therefore invaded every country that's built nukes it wasn't allowed to, which it hasn't.

Ultimately, the only reason that isn't totally full of holes is basically that Baby Bush wanted to finish what his daddy started back in the day.

The reason behind the war was WMD's but it was one of the reasons, it just seemed to most PR friendly.

There were loads of different reasons all of them utter crap and unlawful.

I'll be sure to try and be nice.

Pointless war, not our fight. That sums up my belief on the war. The United States needed to take action after 9/11, I'd be pissed if our nation didn't. But what irritates me is that we decided 'while we're in the neighborhood' to attack Iraq, which although being ruled by a tyrant wasn't our business. Yes Saddam was a not-so-nice person, but we went there for Osama, not Saddam.

But what irritates me the most is that we were close to fulfilling our revenge and capturing Osama, but then we got A.D.D or something because we saw Iraq and were like "Ooo BUTTERFLY!"
