Katarn began to block the attacks, it wasn't easy to keep up and she was constantly pushed back even with the help of the force, she had to think of something fast. She swung her whip around so it would wrap around Koran's legs.

Koran saw her movement and immediately he focused on her whip. She was fast, but fortunately for him, he was faster. He quickly dashed backwards, avoiding the whip just in time and quickly countered with a Force Blast, meaning to make her fall. He found it rather difficult to fight against an opponent wielding a whip as well as a lightsaber while he only had one lightsaber.

He reached out in the Force and lifted two boulders off the ground and swung them both towards the apprentice. If she would not be able to get away in time or perhaps blast the rocks away, she would be crushed in between them as they came from both sides. It was a test, to see what she would do.

Katarn, augmenting her legs with the force, lept back. The boulders smashed in front of her, scattering the field with several smaller rocks that made travelling across it difficult.

((OOC: Sorry for not replying earlier! ))

Bam! The rocks collided and then broke to pieces. If Katarn would have been in between them, she would probably have been squashed. Koran allowed himself to grin shortly.

Then he dashed forwards, leaping over the pieces of the rocks and landing right in front of her.

"Come on!" he growled right before he would land a blow on her, "show me some anger now! Call upon it to make you stronger and strike back with everything you've got!" He would continue to strike her and the idea was to let her somehow break his offense and then strike back with all the anger and power she got.

Katarn let her anger rise, filling her completely. She kept a constant defense until she had enough anger slowing down her surroundings until everything was clearly visible. She struck back, aiming her whip to wrap around his legs as she tried to off put him by aiming for his head with her lightsaber.

Koran could feel her anger, it was swirling around her. In a flash his saber was up to block her lightsaber swung for his head, but then there was her whip. He gathered Force Power and quickly he gripped the whip, stopping it in its momentum and thus avoiding it from wrapping around his legs.

He dashed backwards, out of her reach and said: "Niman is yours, Katarn." He deactivated his lightsaber and bowed to her as a sign of respect. It had been very uncomfortable to duel against one wielding a whip indeed, but she had shown she knew her way around with the whip. Clipping his training saber to his belt he said: "We have done enough dueling for now. There is something else we must do, something important. It involves the Dark Side and your inner demon will be awakened through this process. After this will become clear whether you are strong enough to enslave the Dark Side or become the slave yourself. Are you ready for the trials ahead, my young apprentice?"

((OOC: If you wanted to continue the duel, we could do that as well, just say so. But I thought it would be good to move on to something else now. ))

OOC: God no, I hate fighting in rps, that's why in hunting down the light nuka tried her best to avoid any fighting, its not only because she's a jedi, but because I hate fighting.

IC:
Katarn deactivated her blade and whip. With a backflip and twist she wrapped the whip around her leg again and replaced the blade at its place on her belt. She then bowed to her master. "I am ready for whatever you would throw at me."

((OOC: Yes, I remember you saying that so that was why I thought we should move on. And we have just dueled enough. I just wanted to make sure we had done the basis of lightsaber and whip-combat.))

"Then walk with me," Koran said.

Without waiting for her to reply or anything, he turned around and walked further into the valley, leaving a trail of footsteps in the snow. A couple of snowflakes began to drop from the night sky and Koran felt another snowstorm coming up. It did not matter, though, for their next objective would not take place outside.

He stopped in front of a cave in a mountainside and he gestured to the dark entrance.

"Inside lies the Darkness. You said you were ready, acolyte. We'll see if you truly are." He walked into the cave, but did not walk into the tunnels up ahead just yet. It would be too dark to see here, so he needed to teach Katarn one more trick before descending.

He closed his eyes and focused on the Force for a few seconds. When he opened his eyes again, Katarn would be able to see they were glowing faintly with Force Energy.

"To procede through these dark caves, you will have to be able to use the technique known as Force Sight. It will allow you to see in the dark, through walls and it will even allow you to see one's alignment to the Force. I will teach you how to use the technique. Close your eyes.

"Remember the void, the dark empty space where you were all blind and all alone. Remember the light that was burning bright and remember how it lit the realm for you. Summon this light and let it fall into your eyes, the blinding light that doesn't blind you. Allow it to light your way, allow it to see for you. Allow the Force to see for you."

Katarn opened her eyes to find the corridor around her clearly lit. Not as well as a torch might allow, but well enough to see by.

"I can see, shall we continue?"

"Yes," Koran said, "follow me."

The Kiffar turned and headed into the darker tunnels, deeper into the caves of darkness. The deeper they went, the stronger the Dark Side essence became. Soon they were swallowed by the darkness of the tunnels and without the Force they would not be able to see a thing. And if it wasn't for Koran, Katarn would probably be helplessly lost.

After a while they entered into a larger cave. On the other side was another tunnel that would lead even deeper down into the darkness. In between Koran and Katarn and the other tunnel, in the large 'room', stood a figure. It was a Human man and he wore tattered clothes. He had a large beard and long grey hair. Somehow, he could see Katarn and Koran and he took a step closer to them. With a shaky voice he would say:

"Katarn... I'm your father..."

Was it truly the man who had never been part of Katarn Cabaoth's life? Was it really him? Koran knew the answer, but he did not care to tell his acolyte. Instead he remained silent and waited to see how Katarn would react to this strange event.

(( OOC: I hope you're ok with this. It's, of course, just a vision spawned by the Dark Side of the cave. Up to you if Katarn sees through the illusion or believes it, if you're cool with this of course. ))

((Its cool, hope you don't mind my reaction.))

Katarn raised an eyebrow, then burst out laughing. She collapsed to the ground, laughing so hard it hurt. She tried to control it enough to stand up. She walked over to her master and asked. "Ok, where's the cameras? This is either a prank or a holodrama. There is no way my dad would be on the ass end of nowhere deep inside a cave that has no guessable means of supporting an inhabitant. Is this a test? He on your payroll? Can I kill him so we can move one?"

((OOC: No, that's cool as well XD Haha. But Koran doesn't really like it... =( ))

Koran reached out in the Force and let it snap Katarn's neck. A wave of anger flowed through him and as he held her in his Force Grip he slowly approached her. He stopped one step away from her and began to clench his left hand to a fist, intending to grip her throat even tighter.

"You insolent girl!" he hissed. "We are almost there, but clearly you are not ready to embrace the Dark Side yet. I had faith in you back when we sparred, but it seems you aren't worth a shit. Why are you here, Katarn? Tell me why!"

His intention was to force her onto his knees by pushing with a thick layer of Force Energy on her, while maintaining the Force Grip. This was about training to become a Dark Jedi of the Bogan, and Katarn would have to take this serious. If she proved to be unworthy, Koran didn't see any reason to let her live. He towered over her and added even more energy as he waited for an explanation from his acolyte.

OOC: stop ruining my bubbly Bogan. ^_^ I just love the idea of a bogan who laughs, plays games, then cuts you head off. She's never let all the death get to her, so this whole time she was supposed to be kinda bubbly, unless she's doing something like what I'm about to make her do.

IC:
Katarn's smiled disappeared, replaced by a mask of seriousness. She pulled upon the energy in the force and the void, letting it fill her in seconds. Then she released it all in a pulse to break the grip and knock Koran across the room.

"I'm here to become stronger than I ever imagined." Katarn spoke in a voice filled with death and the darkest things imaginable. Her whip fell from her leg and with a crack wrapped itself around the apparitions neck. With a yank she beheaded it. Her voice returned to normal as she said, "So can we, like, continue already?"

((OOC: That's cool, and you can do that of course. This is just the way Koran would react to it ICly. OOCly I think it's hilarious XD))

Koran was knocked across the room, but in mid-air he gathered Force Energy and for a few moments he floated above the ground, before landing on both feet easily.

He watched her destroying the fake illusion with her whip and he could feel the anger during her short, but strong outburst. But then it was all gone and she acted like she did before. She had proved that she was worthy of wielding the Dark Side, though.

"I see," Koran said sternly. "Follow me."

He led her through the tunnel on the other side of the room deeper into the darkness until they arrived in another cave lit by a wide spectrum of colors. This magical light came from the many crystals that seemed to grow in the rocks and the walls.

Coming to a halt in the center of the crystal cave Koran said: "And here we are. Can you feel the Force Energy flowing throughout this cave? Reach out in the Force and connect with the crystals. Search through them all until you find one that calls out to you. Take that one and show it to me."

((OOC: Pick any color you want for your own lightsaber.))

Nuka began to walk through the cavern until she found one that she simply could not pass up. It was a bright pink crystal, large enough that she would be able to split it in order to use it to color both her weapons. Grabbing this she returned to Koran, showing her prize. "I'll take this one!"

OOC: fear the pink sabered jedi!

Koran looked at the pink colored crystal she presented to him and gave a nod of approval.

"Very well," he said. "We shall go back to our training room where I will guide you through the process of building your lightsaber. Follow me."

They walked through the many dark tunnels and finally got back in the snowy valley they had sparred in. It was now in the middle of the night and their path back to the temple was lit by the many stars. Everything seemed so peaceful, while in fact this was not the case. This place was tainted by the Dark Side of the Force.

Finally they arrived back in the training room. Koran walked over to a chest and he carefully picked it up and placed it onto the table. He carefully opened the chest and inside were several lightsaber parts of very high quality.

He used telekinesis to let the objects float onto the table and when he had placed them all on the table's surface carefully, he took a step back and said: "A lightsaber is constructed through the Force. While building the weapon you are not allowed to touch it with your hands. Place your crystal in between the parts and make contact with them through the Force. Let them float in the air and finally connect all the parts with each other. Take your time and focus. If you have questions, you may ask."

Katarn broke the crystal in two using the force, she would use one half for her whip and set it aside. With the force she gathered the other pieces up in the air and over the course of the next two hours she constructed her blade. When she was done she flicked it on and waved it through the air.

"An elegant weapon," Koran commented. "This one is now your companion throughout most part of your life. Don't lose it."

He stepped towards the table and closed the box. Then he carefully placed it back where it stood and he took a seat at the table. He gestured for Katarn to do the same and said: "There are still several things we must do for you to reach the rank of Crusader. We now have come to an important point and this will be about the Code of our order. Can you recite the code for me? You don't need to tell me what you think it means, just recite the code."

OOC: sorry, didn't know there was a difference, so much stuff on this site, and I can never find the same forum twice

IC:
Katarn sat down and began listing them off on her fingers. "No peace, only suffering. No knowledge, only instinct. No serenity, only passion. No harmony, only chaos. No life, only death."

When she finished she nodded her completion at Koran.

((OOC: Hey, no problem! I had to get used to the site when I joined as well some time ago. ^^ And sorry for the extremely short post!))

"You speak the words," Koran said, "but do you know what the meaning behind the code is? As a Bogan it is very important to know this. Tell me your interpretion of the code."
