Coronet, Corellia, Imperial Defense Forces Fueling Pads

This was his chance, a real chance to prove his worth as a warrior and a leader of men on the most auspicious of occasions; the empress and the fleet had left the planetary garrison to handle things in their brief absence. This was the time the other two teams we're to begin their parts of the operation and as such, delaying a response as long as possible was of the most importance. What is a better way to do that than to launch an attack on their air coverage capabilities; make it seem bigger than it is and really throw the Republica for a whirl.

That was Wyatt's plan anyway, as he looked around the cargo bay of the freighter at two dozen assorted faces and then to his partner on this daring raid.
"Wa yae mata cuyir keye kebise Ni ganar narir su." Wyatt said looking to Dio with a smile as he turned to address the hangar full of men, half under Dio and the others under Wyatt all volunteers for this chance to strike another real blow instead of slinking in the shadows and with his helmet under his arm he spoke over the flight noise. "Gar cuyir gotal'ur ruyot ibi'tuur, rala mhi cuyir warye mhi cuyir solus miit'gaanar yirhaou bal va digur solus!" Wyatt shouted as the light in the cargo hold clicked on with a red shade over all of them, placing his helmet on Wyatt was carrying his new electroripper staff on his right hip and his Quickdraw on his left with a violator under his arm in a shoulder holster in addition to the lightsaber on his bandoleer and the grenades he always had.

The time was upon them as the ship began to slow, moving to land beyond the garrisons small airfield that was situated in the city, fighter support and police patrol craft were scattered on the pads and easy targets for the ambush. The ship made its landing on one of the pads with its engines still on it dropped the cargo ramp to let two dozen mandalorians spill out in the night and rain hellfire on the unsuspecting pilots and troopers. Wyatt only hoped the man they'd been told was going to be along for assistance would actually show as he hadn't worked with anyone officially of the alliance yet and was eager to be acquainted.

Diocletian was excited for this raid from the minute he heard about it. It had only taken two comm communications to get twelve of his clan mates to rally to the cause. He stood among them now on the ship that was screaming towards Corellia and their target. Looking out across their impassive helmeted faces, Dio had removed his helmet to communicate with the ship’s crew. They were nearing the infiltration point and Dio was ready. Ever since Medriaas, this had been one of Diocletian’s goals in life and he would not miss this for the world.

The Mandalorian Marauder was in his armor in its usual configuration, its heavy Beskar’gam frame like a second skin to the experienced warrior. He had his heavy bowcaster across his back and his trusty Shriek-Hawk hanging from a two-point harness in front of him. His usual bandoleer of grenades hung across one shoulder left to right and rode just above his Strill blaster he used as backup. A well-worn hilt of a vibroblade stuck up just above his right greave as well. A military style jetpack rested on his back to provide more maneuverability on the battlefield.

The solders he had brought were all Mandalorians through and through. He had trained with many of them as boys as their mentors had joint exercise scenarios. They were all used to Dio in the role of commander as he had been a year or two ahead of most of them making him the leader in those situations. Now this was the real deal and he would be leading them into battle once more, this time into the heart of the Imperial Republica, Corellia and its city garrison.

The mission was a part of a three-pronged attack that had been planned with the Galactic Alliance. The duel between the leadership of the Imperial Republica and the Old Empire had been too good an opening to disregard. The mission itself had been pulled together quickly and each Mandalorian ship had a Republic contingent riding shotgun with it. The raid was on and Dio had his men ready for whatever they encountered on the surface.

The red light went to green and the landing ramp dropped, disgorging the Mandalorians at the rendezvous point where they would pick up their Galactic Alliance allies. Dio and Wyatt led some two dozen Mandalorians down the ramp, the group already knowing the job as they started to fan out and set a perimeter. Dio turned and gave the pilot a small salute before turning back to the tasks at hand. He gestured towards several men with hand signals, moving them to close a gap in the perimeter as they waited for their ‘allies’ to arrive. Looking over at Wyatt he signaled “They are late.”

Mig had been growing bolder as time went on. The Gotal had assembled a small cell loyal to himself with rebels. He had acquired gear, defeated horrifying opponents, and destroyed many enemy assets. This was where it all came together for him. A direct strike against the Sith was what he had been raised to do. His parents would be concerned, yet proud. He wore slightly different armor to help conceal his identity during this raid too. Hopefully for the Imperials as well as scrutiny from the news and his friends back home who would not approve. The Ruffian Armor was very common and all he added was some jump boot functionality. An included voice scrambler would totally disguise his usually easily spotted voice. He would have to remember not to use his name or signature sayings too openly. Luckily, his time as an operative and soldier had been teaching him to be a better warrior and avoid these simple mistakes.

"Spread out. Surround the Hangar. Wait for my signal." He said slowly, making sure the scrambler worked and that he was understood.

A squad of rebel soldiers began to split up and follow Mig's orders. 6 Gotal Rebels in Rebel Trooper Armor plus 6 Gungans in the same. They also each had an R5 Blaster in a hip holster. They'd blend in well here with basic armor not known to be that of rebels yet to the Galaxy plus fully legal weapons. Their Mandalorian partners would be a different story and so would Mig, but at least his troops could blend in and surprise the enemy holdings. Mig's armor was not necessarily illegal but the PIPE on his back and the Bowcaster in his hands might raise eyebrows. He also had a basic pistol at his hip as a last resort. The Galactic Alliance forces had simply arrived on world and not had to rush an attack due to their ability to easily blend in.

"Wesa in place." He heard over the comlink as he too positioned himself just outside of the hangar.

Mig found his Mandalorian friends landing and walked up to the leaders as they exited their own ship. He would not reveal his identity to them quite yet but his outfit would make it obvious he was here to help. He approached without pointing his weapon at them, keeping it towards the floor. Once close enough he gave a firm nod.

"Not late. Hidden. My men are in place. Let's do it." His scrambled voice croaked at them.

As if a ship landing inside a military air and space craft refueling point wasn’t suspect enough for an investigation, the two dozen Mandalorians began breaking off into teams. Clearing running into opposition before Wyatt and those who were by his side did, as a pair of approaching Imperials began to shout when blaster fire rung out followed by an explosion on the left side of the pads behind the first row of craft. It took their attention for a moment as Wyatt raised his QuickDraw and put two rounds center mass to the man on the right, and again into his partner as he pivoted to react. It was now, that the Mandalorians intent would be known to more than just themselves; all the speculation behind their attacks and terror activities aside this one they would own proudly.

Wyatt continued forward with his group, two peeling off quickly ahead and past the dead men, placing a grenade in the engine port of a planetary patrol craft and another in the where he could stuff it under the side paneling. Getting clear of it the grenades detonated and send a plume of fire and smoke with debris showering the area. There was two rows of six craft on either side of the pads, separated by a two fighter wide middle ground where they entered and exited along for safety.

The activity was surely waking up those stationed at this post and it was evident, taking cover behind another ship Wyatt and one of the men hid and waited for a three man group to come into the open. A sith trooper, a pilot and a planetary officer as it seemed they were in different states of ready with what they wore and carried; they had surely caught the post off guard hopefully just as well as the other teams.

Diocletian joined his twelve-man squad just as he saw Wyatt and his group break off to the east to engage the fighters on their landing strip. Dio and his dragoons, as he called them, headed to the North East to engage the staff that would inevitably come pouring out of the barracks and ready rooms for the fighter pilots. Dio had been training with these twelve since they were nine years old and they knew the drill. As soon as they saw Wyatt’s men start to blow up aircraft on the flight line, they took cover behind the jet brake and set up an ambush on the exits from the main hanger and billets.

They were in business soon enough as small pockets of Imperials started to appear from within the facility. Running out of the building mostly hastily dressed, much less armored, the Imperials simply withered under the controlled and accurate fire from the ambush when it sprung. Dio remained in cover, taking the odd shot here and there but largely directing traffic for his squad. As the ambush was sprung, he tossed a fragmentation grenade into the fray to add to the chaos.

Soon it was obvious that Wyatt and his squad had that objective under control so Dio directed his squad to a nearby public transportation hub. The hub was deserted by the public who had run for their lives at the first shots from the raiders. Dio broke his squad into two six-man elements as they had as children. “Omega take the station, set charges and destroy the transportation elements. Epsilon sweep to the control tower on me.” They would be attacking a different part of the base but would still be close enough to support Wyatt or the Rebels if they hit a snag in their own battle plans.

The transportation elements of the hub went up like a fireworks display, Omega doing its job as Dio had known they would. The flames lit up the night as Dio and Epsilon headed into the control tower. There were three Imperial technicians in the tower, and they tried to hold off the invading Mandalorians. Dio activated his jump pack and rose on a geyser of flame up the stairwell into the top of the control tower.

Three quick shots from his Shriek-Hawk took out the technicians who had been awestruck by the ascent of the warrior. Dio announced the all clear as he looked out the large windows of the control tower to oversee the carnage below. He could hear Epsilon running up the stairs behind him and could see Omega finishing off the last of the transports at the hub before heading towards the tower to rendezvous with Dio. It was just a few moments and Dio and his squad were reunited in the tower and Dio was scanning the horizon for targets.

Destruction did not take long to erupt as the Mandalorians did their thing. Mig was in awe of how they did destruction. He was a true fan of blowing things up himself. A bomber for a ship and a PIPE on his back could confirm that much. His men did not really need a signal to know to begin. The squad of rebels drew their pistols in support of their Mandalorian comrades once the fighting began. Imperials had mainly focused on the Mandalorian armor but often failed to spot the rebel sneaking behind their cover with a pistol. Whatever reinforcements hid from the Mandalorians would get hit from behind by the strategically placed rebel units. They were showing their value to their friends quickly and Mig would do the same.

One half of the landing pad he had purposefully told them to keep clear. Mig had a plan for it. The maintenance bay for the garrison's landing pad was on that side. Inside of it were massive fuel tanks for keeping the ships full and some ammunition storage to replenish used projectiles. The Gotal Rebel knew an explosive when he saw one and that was one big boom. As the Mandalorians did their part with the tower and barracks, Mig fired a torpedo from his PIPE directly into the open doors of the maintenance bay. An explosion shook the entire area as flames reached high into the sky. Ships parked too close and the couple inside under repair were torched.

"Squad friends, regroup and flank the barracks. I'll meet you there." He ordered his men so that they could take out the barracks now that the Mandalorians had suppressed it.

Mig tossed the PIPE back over his shoulder after reloading it. He then opted for his Bowcaster and sprinted down to meet his team. They'd be ready to breach when he arrived. It would be sparsely populated if not empty after the Mandalorian Ambush, but it was important to control it. Mig led the way through as his men went room to room. Eventually they wiped out any remaining cowardly Imperials before going to the command center itself inside the barracks. Mig quickly wired it to send feedback to any who tried to use it next before signaling his team to head to the exit.

With a fireball erupting from the interior of the repair bays Wyatt took a moment to realize who it had come from a two groups of aliens rushed past him, some with long floppy ears and others looking like some sort of humanoid beasts. He assumed it must be the rebels who were to be here for assistance on the operation and he clicked his commlink "Don't shoot the hodgepodge of aliens they're with us today." He said before holstering his blaster and taking the Electroripper staff off of his hip and giving it a hard flick in conjunction with the release of the collapsing mechanism, allowing the full length of the weapon to be shown as he brought it to his side.

Moving with only two men on his sides the rest of his team had spread out to begin setting explosives on more of the craft on the pads, Wyatt approached one and began to carve away at its cockpit in order to make an opening for one of his men to toss a grenade into it. The rush of openly defying the Sith on their own turf deep within their space that they did so much to convince the inhabitants of its worlds they were in fact safe; it was as true as the advertisements for real male enhancement pills on the late night holo shows. Anyone who is in league with the Sith can become a target, and they meant to prove it here today with the series of strikes at the core and with the cutting complete Wyatt began to walk away from the craft clicking his comm again. "Good to have you and yours here with us tonight. Make sure to be thorough in the barracks, we will assure their transports and fighters are useless and my counterpart and his men will hinder their ability to get here in response... It is important we do our very best, the other teams are counting on us." Wyatt said, pausing between statements to broadcast on the network open to all of the men present both mandalorian and rebel.

He knew how important the task was but he knew how equally important it was to assure the men did not get sloppy or excited in the slaughter and destruction resulting in leaving loose ends or a half assed job. Wyatt would make his way closer to another craft as the one he'd ripped open earlier exploded from the placed detonators by his men.

Diocletian and his two squads of Mandalorians had been holding their position within the traffic control tower at the entrance of the Imperial base closest to the city. As Dio looked out from his elevated vantage point he could see EMS and other services heading all over the city in response to the various attacks on Corsucant that day. The Rebels and Mandalorians had struck in concert in multiple different locations, causing the defenders of the city issues with responding to all of them. Thus far, Dio’s mission group had only experienced token resistance.

Dio turned to his two squads and gave them orders, “Omega and Epsilon both on me, lets handle the communications tower while we are here. No use allowing them to call for assistance once we have completed our strike.” With that the strike team retraced its steps back down the stairs, Dio choosing that route over his jet pack this time to save its fuel for when he might need it. As the team emerged back into the open, they adopted a skirmish wedge and traveled quickly to their target, the bases communications array.

As soon as Dio saw it he knew there was an issue. He called over the shared communications channel to Wyatt and the Rebel strike leader, “It appears I have found the last stand, communications tower, multiple targets. Focus on my signal and respond.” Dio cut the traffic short to ensure it was not intercepted and performed several hand gestures to his team. They started to spread out and find firing positions around the facility. They would wait for their reinforcements to arrive before engaging the hostiles within the communications complex area. They had cover and concealment among the various equipment bays and stores around the area, being set up to ambush anyone exiting the facility or entering it.

Mig and his team had made sure to clear out the barracks and set the trap. Now it seemed the Imperials had a last stand of sorts at the communications tower. They must have been hoping to get reinforcements. The Rebel Gotal knew that could be bad news so he responded quickly, meeting up near Dio's team at the tower. He ordered his troops to spread out once more and prepare for ambush. The Antennae at the top of the tower were blinking as they still had emergency power to send communications. It was hard to say if anything had gotten out or how much, but it was time to end it.

"Going to snip their communications, friends." He said through the voice scrambler to the Mandalorians. "Hope you're ready because we're about to knock."

An easy transition from Bowcaster to PIPE told anyone standing too close that they needed to give Mig room. He aimed for the base of the antennae cluster and let loose a proton explosive. It glided through the air leaving a streak of smoke. Some imperials would watch helplessly through the windows as the powerful explosive flew by them. A satisfying explosion rocked the tower and the antennae fell off. A plume of smoke signaled that the tower had also been set on fire. Now they'd have to leave or die in the eventual spread of the flames. So much for a last stand on their turf.

Ships would continue to detonate on the pads as Wyatt's team continued their third of the strike teams work, as they began rigging the final few craft to explode Dio came over the comms and had seemingly found the final bastion of imperials on this post. Possibly trying to send a last ditch communications request out as the station was ransacked by the marauders and rebels, from behind him came another explosion followed by the sounds of footfalls as his team regrouped with the others who had begun staging around the base of the communications tower.

The group of rebels leader sure knew how to bring fireworks to a fight and it showed as the rocket from his weapon streaked through the air and detonated against the tower, causing wholesale destruction. "Come let's finish this there can't be many left hold up in there." Wyatt said as his men joined in the perimeter, the twelve men forming three teams of four each and positioning themselves on the corners of the formation. Wyatt was aiming to show he was never above finishing a fight himself as thus far he had done nothing more than been present in the attack, and that was not how one showed their strength especially in the company of potential allies.

Wyatt would continue to the entrance of the tower with weapons drawn and his head on a swivel for outlying attackers and would wait for the other two to reach the door and prepare to enter with him.

A last bastion of defense was slowly burning down for the local Imperials. Mig watched his handiwork begin drawing their enemies out of the building. He shouldered the PIPE in favor of his bowcaster as he set up on the door to breach. It was time to show the Mandalorians that the Galactic Alliance was more than some annoying pests. They were here to get things done and could compete on their level. The Gotal smiled under his helmet as he kicked in the door violently and began the breach.

Mig's bowcaster quickly found the remaining enemies clumped up on the stairs coming down. Two shots from the powerful bowcaster ripped through all of them, some dying instantly while others would suffer in a pile of mixing blood. It ran down the stairs as the two shots did their work. Mig pushed into the building followed by his men and likely Mandalorians, but no one would be left to kill. It was shooting Nerfs in a barrel the way they had been coming down the stairs. No one had been expecting a heavy slug thrower or a bold enemy.

"Cleared!" He shouted, cringing internally at the mess he caused. "Our job is done. Until next time, Mandalorians."

That said, the Rebel troops would begin moving out. Their weapons scanning for any hostiles but none would dare approach them now. Mig had his men meet up at a transport that had been borrowed. No ties, no names, no way for anyone to know who he was or why he came. Not even his own friends for the most part. The rebels would debrief and celebrate as they began to pull away.

Diocletian directed his two squads to attack the communications array with the support of Wyatt’s forces and the rebel forces. The facility fell in rapid order at that point, the combined forces sweeping the resistance away like waves at high tide. Dio watched the carnage, directing the battle of his squads to support the attacks of the other two elements. After a heated battle that lasted approximately ten minutes, the communications array was in their hands. The squads spread out to finish off the remaining knots of resistance as Dio watched Wyatt and his crews enter to clear the actual building itself.

Dio turned and looked to the skies and saw they were clear of traffic, both civilian and military. Activating his comms he called to their air assets, “Attack Badger to Air Badgers, exfiltration ready at my coordinates.” He heard the confirmation through his ear and could hear the roar of the engines as the shuttle came thundering down towards where he stood. Activating his comms again, Dio called to his squads, “Papa Badger to Sett, rally on my location for extraction. Beer is on me.” Again Dio counted twelve confirmations as he saw small groups of his squad moving tactically back to his location.

As his people arrived, he saluted the retreating rebel forces by tossing one arm across his chest and standing at attention in the direction of their leader. That final bit done, he turned and started ushering his squad up the ramp into the transport. He noticed Wyatt and his team returning from clearing the communications array just as his last squad member started up the ramp. Dio waited for his friend to join him at the ramp and start boarding before even considering boarding himself. He reached out a hand to Wyatt and grasped his arm in a warriors handshake before starting up the ramp.

”Strike Team Wraith, this is Wraith Actual we’re pulling out exfil in two, get to the ship and prepare for rapid re-insert.” Wyatt said into his commlink as he retreated at a slow jog allowing his men to pass by him much quicker as the tower had a secondary explosion of some sort. The rebels came through and the strike was one of many this evening, the team of Mandalorians was needed at another smaller location like this one as the plan to confuse, distract and waylay the enemy was underway. Once all mandalorian forces were accounted for and boarded the converted cargo ship would pull off and into the night like itd never been there. Leaving the burning ship station below in the background, but it would be interrupted as the delayed charges placed on the fuel line would detonate sending a large cloud of fire into the sky and illuminated any windows on the ship as it made its way in the opposite direction.
