ILUM: THE CHURCH OF THE SITH
1500 Hours

Ilum's icy temperament makes travelling to the Sacellum difficult on foot. Ships can land nearby though not directly near the temple itself which has been carved into the foot of one of its many glacial landscapes. Those familiar with its location have been granted access to its Secret Hangar which is also carefully constructed in the mountain side. Built with the finest Imperial design available, this temple is a glorious tribute to the Empire and all those under her command.

There are two parts to the Sacellum's inner halls: the temple itself and the inner sanctum. At the front of the temple's main hall stands its holy altar where the Head Priestess would bless and give communion to her followers. The long narrow halls of the temple work as tunnels in the cavern's of Ilum. There are many private inner chambers in which one can pray, whereas one might simply wish to sit in the halls and stare at the beauty of the inner caverns.

There are a few lesser known corridors that lead all the up into to the peak of the mountain, where it is coldest. Most chose not to travel all the way up for it leads to virtually nothing, save for a view of the clouds. Typically, when someone comes to Ilum they head down where the planet gives back powerful Force imbued crystals that allow the Sith (or Jedi) to power their lightsabers. Why anyone would chose to climb the long stairways up was beyond comprehension.

But today, this is where The Confessor and head matron of the Sacellum, had come to pray.
Being that she'd come outside, she was back to wearing her Sith marauder armor that everyone associated as her own style. The durasteel was built together as a corset rather than a chest plate. The other more armored parts of her outfit were the vambraces on her forearms as well as the shin plates on her legs. The rest of her body was covered in a tight leather suit that protected the woman from the environment. Over the whole ensemble was a white Imperial cloak with the symbol of the Sith decorated into the spine. Her hood was currently pulled over her head which didn't seem that out of place with the heavy wind blowing back and forth through the stone openings in the temple.

The Confessor didn't mind the cold. Or rather, she was always cold anyways. No amount of clothes, hot baths, or sunlight could warm her up. Something had changed in the woman who once addressed herself as Lady Eriana Fox. Something Dark had been growing inside her. Even to the point that she wasn't carrying around her usual identical twin curved lightsaber hilts that never left her side no matter what. The fact that she'd even parted with them in the first place was a strange occurrence. The reason being for it that her hands were currently bandaged up all the way down to her fingertips. She could barely close them at all, much less grab a weapon and use it.

It was her own fault, a new Force power that took a cruel toll on her. In her grief and anger, she'd summoned an ice blizzard out of the Darkness and came down with several burns of frostbite in her arms. She was still in the process of healing. But there was one other change in the woman's appearance. One she had only shown to her arch priest. With the Dark side growing more and more powerful inside her, the girl's body began to change. Her skin was whiter than ever. Someone might even think she was dead by looking at her. Even her eyes though had changed, taking a gross yellow color to their normally beautiful grays. But the most striking of which, was that her hair was slowly falling out -hence the hood she kept up at all times, and the helmet she wore constantly when leaving the safety of the church.

Today, The Confessor tried something different than her usual mediation downstairs. The chambers which used to offer her clarity and reassurance now felt empty and cold. So she traveled up, as high as she could go. She found a cliff that had withstood the test of the elements and knelt at the edge with nothing but the world below her. At home, she'd usually just pray in her bed, after waking up as well as before going to bed for the night. But with the creation of the church she found it more peaceful in these stone rooms because she could feel the Force closer and closer to her the further into the church she went. Just, not today.

For even here, in this place on Ilum, the Dark side could not be avoided. No matter how high up she went she could not escape the gripping pull it had on her. Corrupting her. It tainted the very air she breathed for it was like a miasma, thick and foggy. And while the Sacellum was open to any and all Sith, there were still guards posted around and inside at all times. For this very reason. The Dark side was dangerous, and could turn on anyone. Though the wraiths from down below ever ventured to the surface, the The Sacellum guards were always on alert. That included people coming to the church from the outside. They had no reason not to trust someone looking for sanctuary within the walls, but that didn't mean they wouldn't be skeptical of any newcomers, especially if they came with weapons.

"Nerf-herding balls, it's cold here," was the only coherent thought running through Sasha's mind as she made her way up to the main hall of the Church of the Sith, the Sacellum. She had come here for knowledge in the Force, and was told that if she wished to learn from the Church, she must first converse with the High Priestess. She asked around the main temple and found out that the priestess would most likely be at the Sacellum, which was at the top of the mountain. As Sasha made the trek up to the Sacellum, cold winds attacked the skin of her face, making it almost the same shade of red as her hair.

As she reached the summit, Sasha's face was indeed the same red as her hair, which was a feat in itself. In an attempt to warm herself, Sasha called upon the force, causing tiny jolts of energy to spark in between her fingers, but it was futile, the cold of Illum was too much for her inexperience in the force to ward off, she would just have to deal with her mistake.

When she finally reached the top, Sasha could see the lone figure kneeling and praying. While she had heard of the Confessor, the two women had never met, apparently that fact was going to change today. Squaring her shoulders, Sasha began walking toward the woman in front of her. As Sasha neared the woman, she decided to stop and allow the woman to continue her prayer. Stopping a little bit behind the other woman, Sasha knelt and bowed her head, opening herself to the Force and letting herself bathe in it's power.

Being connected with the Force, The Confessor knew that someone had come to visit her far before the poor girl entered the outside air. It was her temple after all, and nothing happened inside those walls that she herself did not know about. She stayed where she was however, merely monitoring the girl make her way up the stairwells and pathways until she found herself outside. The broken castle that once stood here would not offer and refuge from the cold nor would it be easy to make a direct path to the kneeling woman. But her commitment forced her forward and she finally was standing behind the woman she'd come to see.

Out of respect, this newcomer did not say anything. The Confessor appreciated that gesture. She could then close herself off from her prayer and open her eyes, merely a habit of doing so. Standing, she turned and lowered her cloak from her head which would have been blown down anyways in the wind facing her. She could not see the woman as she was, only the flame of her aura through the Force. But it was passive now, and that meant she was waiting for her to say something.

"You have come a long way, young one. Were you searching for me? Or perhaps something more profound? Answers to the bigger questions perhaps? Tell me, what is it you seek?"

Red hair whipping in her face, Sasha stood and faced the blind woman before her, dropping all mental barriers so that the Confessor may see that her words were true. "I... I seek Knowledge. Knowledge of the Force, what it can do, what I can do with it, what others have done with it, anything and everything that I can. I was born with nothing, the only treasure in my life has been Knowledge, and I seek more. I was told that you know more about the Force than most Sith, and I was hoping to learn from you."

The girl's search for knowledge has consumed her since her joining of the Sith, she wished to know all that she could, and then some. Some believed that such a search for power and knowledge would surely lead to a coup, but Sasha had no such intention. Sasha only wished to learn, caring not about rank or status. The true reward was the knowledge and power that could be gained, but not used for trivial matters such as assuming or keeping power. No, Sasha was much more single-minded than that.

To her surprise, the girl in front of her opened her mind up to the blind Sith. It was a very un-Sith-like thing to do. Most refused to share their pain, their histories, their secrets. This girl wanted to be seen. The Confessor couldn't resist. She connected with the Force and let the tendrils surround them both before piercing into the girl's mind to see if what she was saying was true. Sasha would answer the Sith's question by saying she sought knowledge. In her mind, the blind Sith saw the memories of her on Coruscant, exploding in rage at her teachers. She saw her reading countless books and texts about the Force itself and what it meant. The Confessor was immediately impressed with the dedication the girl had shown to her studies and the effort she took to learn more. That devotion, that spiritual need for connection. She understood it well.

Moving forward, she would raise her hand and bring it to the girl's head. Her fingers wove themselves into the girl's red hair while her thumb pressed gently into the center of her forehead. The Confessor continued to push into her mind, seeing everything she could. There was no way this young girl could stop the woman's assault now; she'd invited her in after all. Flashes of the girl's life previewed all around them in their head. All the emotions, the feelings, the emptiness. But then, The Confessor would return the favor. She began showing Sasha her own feelings. Devotion to the Dark side. Sasha would feel what Lady Eriana Fox felt every morning and night when she prayed to the Force. She would feel how it felt to connect with it and be rewarded by the surge of truth that came from believing in that power.

After what felt like the strangest rush she'd ever felt, Sasha would feel The Confessor pull back and exit her mind. Lowering her arm to the girl's shoulder she would say kindly, "Sasha Ivet. I believe you will find a place here. Please, let us talk more inside."

Taking the girl's arm in her own, the blind Sith would lead them away from the edge of the temple cliff where she'd been kneeling and start heading back towards the mountain entrance. While the head priestess could spend hours out here in this cold, she imaged the redhead would not be so keen on freezing in the near blizzard. Plus, it gave them a chance to find the woman a cot that she could sleep in for the night, or perhaps some food to warm their bellies.

Sasha released an audible gasp as the Confessor's consciousness melded with hers, allowing the woman before her to see all that she had been through to get to where she is. But also Sasha was able to see what the Sith lord in front of her had been through. It was astonishing to say the least, seeing what the woman had to overcome and all the pain that went along with it... If Sasha didn't respect the Confessor before, she surely did now. As the two viewed each other's memories, Sasha would wonder why one of the highest ranking Sith was even bothering with her? Sasha herself was barely an adult, only a year or two into her teachings of the Force, but The Confessor, of all people was viewing her mind and life. How in the hell did she get here?

"Sasha Ivet. I believe you will find a place here. Please, let us talk more inside."

"R-really? You... you're sure?" It was so hard for Sasha to believe that she'd actually get this far. Two years ago, she was living on the streets of Coruscant, and now she's being lead to the Church of the Sith by the Confessor herself. Sasha was so happy that she almost didn't notice when they reached the temple and then wound their way through the corridors, eventually ending up in what Sasha could only assume was a private chamber, hopefully one where they could have a warm meal deliv-

"Wait, I just realized something. You're blind?!"
