[Yvain]

Yvain sat by the edge of one of Tyhton's great lakes, his legs crossed beneath him his eyes closed his body free to float within the Living Force. The planet was peaceful, sparsely populated at best and little to no impact from the newly resurgent Jedi Order it was a little peace of Nirvana for the Jedi Knight. He had come here much over the past two decades, when not required to report to the council or search out new Force Sensitive lifeforms he would come here, to one of these great lakes and let time wash over him.

Behind and to his right a small wooden shack, just tall enough for the squat Jedi stood a small garden around it, covered in small plants and flowers, a hobby to keep his mind free of the outside galaxy. Just behind it sat his X-Wing, Spinz the Astromech running some diagnostics and checks as he always done whilst on the planet. Yvain was sure the little droid enjoyed the tranquillity of the world as much as he. Yvain knew however that this tranquillity would end soon, but for good reason, he has asked his new Padawan Sace to join him upon the planet to start his training, away from the hustle and bustle of the temple, away from the prying eyes of the council, here he would be able to teach his own way at his own pace.

But whilst he waited he kept his eyes closed, his ears open to the rolling shores, the birds and the insects all around.

The Heart of Shakti, his shiny new Delta-7B Aethersprite-class light interceptor...or so fantasized about. Instead it was a class decades old, and probably hadnt seen any real combat speed since even decades before the Clone Wars. Sace had been requested to meet his new master, Yvain, on the planet of Tython. Yet another planet he hadnt been to until joining the Order, Sace saw it as yet another opportunity. Though he might be having a bit of trouble honing his star fighter in for the landing.

"Ssshorty...put half power to the forward thrusssters, and release the landing gear...create whatever drag we can ssso this engine doesnt have to do all the work!...and for gids sssake, control that smoke in the aft engine!!" Despite what it may seem, the young Jedi had everything in ctonrol. The one thing in his life that he could control was star fighters...whether that be flying them or working on them...and in this instance it seemed as though he would be doing both.

His astromech droid, about just as old as the fighter, was coming along well to his instructions...as if the thing had seem combat in its past life. And it helped Sace able to land his fighter down not ten meters away from Yvains X-Wing, as such near the coordinates given to him by his new master. The Sluissi jumped out of the hatch, leaving his helmet in the cockpit, and started over towards Yvain, light smoke coming from his engine, and a frantic astromech droid scurrying to put out the fire.

"Thatsss a beautiful T-85...in my opinion, not worth the creds to upgrade to the 90...with sssome tweaking you can get the sssame sspeed." Sace said while admiring Yvains X-Wing and approaching the meditating Jedi, Sace didnt pick up on that que either.

"This sssure is a beautiful planet!"

[Yvain]

The scream of the Starship broke the tranquillity of the area around the Jedi Knight, though Yvain had expected the rubble of the engines for some time so it did not break his concentration as the old fighter descended to land next to his own by the small little hut. It took a moment for the Jedi Padawan to exit his cockpit and slither his way over to his new Master. Yvain smiled at his off hand comment about his X-Wing, the little Jedi knew little of the innermost mechanics of fighters, he could run some basic diagnostics but he had left the heavy lifting to astromechs and mechanics over the years.

Looking up at the Slussi he opened his eyes. "It is beautiful isn't it. Please take a seat." He said patting a space on the stone near him. "Take a deep breath and relax, open your mind to the world, the galaxy and The Force. Sit and relax."

Sace was ready and eager to be able to learn the most useful tool that the Jedi could wield, or at least that is how he viewed the Force. The small green Jedi had hundreds of years on the Padawan, and it was visible in everything about him, and so Sace was prepared to be awoken. He was ready to be able to use the Force at will and use it for good. He wanted to be a Jedi and thought that this was what made a Jedi.

Sace could barely even take in the natural scenery of this untouched landscape, his excitement nearly overbearing. And when Yvain spoke requesting him to 'sit and relax', Sace was thrown aback. Though he wouldnt dare defy his master, wouldnt dare ruin this chance to have his ability. And despite his eagerness to learn, the serpent found a spot next to his master, coiled his tail and slumped down. Inhaling and exhaling to calm his nerves, the Sluissi sat slightly agitated as to where this part of his training would take him.

Maybe this is how I learn to control it...maybe the next step will be lifting those rocks with my mind

The Sluissi could only hope...and wait for his masters next instruction.

[Yvain]

Yvain could feel the eagerness the impatience in the young one to learn. This is why the Old Order did not take in students so old, they had external views upon the Order, what it actually meant to be a Jedi the hard work it took to master The Force and often wished to jump to the end. To reach the point they were pulling starships from the sky, leaping over skyscrapers and spinning sabers like spinning bottle tops. Yvain was still uneasy with the New Orders' policy, though he had seen some of the benefits of allowing older students in as long as they listened.

"Your mind is to clouded Sace. Clear it, do not think about The Force, Jedi, Sith even yourself, just let the world around you seep in. Relax your soul, not only your mind and body. Once you are clear and calm you will be able to truly feel The Force. That is the first step in your journey." The little Jedi sat his head facing front, eyes closed as he spoke enjoying the surrounding wilderness.

"Yes massster..."

Even Yvain's ability to sense Sace's inner mind was impressive, though he was right. Sace was certainly too eager. The Sluissi listened to the small Jedi Knight and attempted to clear his mind. Taking a large breath in and exhaling slowly, all Sace could think about was the planet that he had just landed on. The breeze running through the trees and his skin. The sound of the water running down the river, Sace imagined what it would sound like since they werent near that body of water.

The young Padawan pushed every sense of his mind slipping away to think...to wonder...to distract him. Sace could think of nothing else, his face finally calm, and his body still, hands folded in his coiled lap. A serene look upon the serpents face nearly as if he were about to fall asleep...and it was true, although he would stop himself from drifting that far. The Sluissi's mind was clear and he began to feel what it was like to truly meditate...

It took a few moments but the Slussi was a quick study, The Force was strong in him and that was good, as long as he kept his mind and body calm he would become an excellent Jedi. Yvain felt the young ones tensions slowly fall away through The Force his mind and body becoming the calm excellence that was expected from a member of The Order.

As he eased into his comfort Yvain spoke. "Now listen, deep within that calm you will find a rhythm, a beat, like a heart. Search for it, this Padawan is the Living Force, the power that we as the Light wield in the Darkness. The flame upon our torch, the bulb inside our flashlight." This process was slow, but it was needed, if Sace could understand the Rhythm of The Force, to understand it like a living creature he hoped he would be less misused in the future.

Sace said not a word, replying only with a nod, his eyes still closed. The only thing moving is the snakes forked tongue slipping from his lips from time to time merely out of instinct and habit. Sace listened to the words of his master, though not fully understanding. What was the living force as opposed to just the force. Though Sace wouldnt let such thoughts distract him from this training. His mind was at peace and his body tranquil, nothing in his mind and he could hear his own heart beat.

Though that was the only thing he could hear at this time. His hear was beating at a very slow pace. Surely this cant be what he's talking about...not just my heart beat...

"I can hear and feel my heart beat...is that what your talking about...?" Sace didnt want to let himself get frustrated, though sometimes it could be hard. The times he had used the force, he wasnt nearly as focused as he is now. And still the ability was not coming to him as it did in the past. A burst of force ability was so much easily obtained through his own raw emotion, he just wanted to know how to wield it and bend it to his own will. Sace wasnt understanding this way...

"Not quite young one. It is separate, like the world itself is alive, the ground, the soil, mud, stone, reach out to that beating heart. From here you will feel the life force of the planet itself." Yvain's outlook on The Force was different to some, the Living Force was often a taboo subject within the Old Order and if he was honest he had not brought it up much with fellow Knights and Masters within the New Order as he had kept mostly to himself.

The Jedi Knight himself reached out for that rhythm the beating heart of The Force, hopefully the small beacon the little green Jedi was beside Sace would help him find his destination.

The serpent nodded in understanding, though remained silent. He did not want even his own words to distract him from his mission, that being connecting with the Force as he was being taught by his master. Sace thought inwards. Of the times that he had used the Force, he did not remember what he'd felt. His emotions had gotten he best of him, and the Force was emanated from him and just as sudden as it had appeared...it was gone.

Though this time had to be different. He needed to feel the ability, needed to feel the Force and what it could create. He thought on the time he left his home. All of the lies and tales spun by his father had made him angry and wanting to know the truth. In a physical tussle with his father, the young Sluissi had reached out in a fit of anger to push him away, although he did much more than intended. The Force was with him, aiding his desire despite not knowing exactly what he wanted from it. Smashing his father up against the wall behind him with such force what the durasteel wall had cracked.

Now here in this serene place, the image of his father was fleeting. He dove deep into his own subconscious nearly to the point of losing command over his own self. At this point he could hear the wind, hear the grass, and hear the soil upon which he sat. Amplified by the clear and astounding beating of his masters Force heart, the Sluissi had realized that this was a feeling that he had never recognized, not even during the stints of Force that he'd used unwillingly in the past. This beating hum only got stronger the more he tuned in to the realization of what he was searching for. Nearly completely succumbed to the Force, the Sluissi sat there with his coiled tail motionless...almost frozen and paralyzed...unable to move himself or snap out of the deep concentration he brought himself to...

The Padawan had a deep history, Yvain could feel it, sorrow and anger through the small pings of emotion sent out through The Force. But none of it was of a undesiring degree that Yvain had any worry or need to stop training the young Slussi. The Jedi Knight had to come to the understanding that the young Padawan had a life before the Jedi Order one that was not simple and kind like many he had trained before.

He watched through The Force Sace delve deep within himself, he hit the first stage of peace and almost the second stage before he found himself within the bosom of The Force. The Knight worried for a moment as without proper training the second stage could cause serious damage to ones self, but he seemed to stop before he got to serious. Yvain waited patiently to see how he would react now he held The Force around him, though after time he did not seem to begin to mould anything, to control it, The Force only wrapped around him. "You are there, within The Living Force itself. Now with your mind and soul move it. Like pulling your fingers through the sand. Push it from side to side, get a feel for manipulating just its essence."

Sace lifted his hands, his eyes still closed for he did not want any visuals to break his concentration. He thought more on his masters words...he wasnt completely sure of what he had to do, but he could feel the aura of the Force around him. The Sluissi waved his hands around in front of him slow enough as to not risk breaking his connection. He could feel the aura surrounding every bit if his arms and fingers down to the rest of his body and tail. The aura moved with him, even as he tested it out by putting more speed into his movement, the Force was still strong.

With his eyes still closed, the serpent continued to practice this. His hand movements getting more intricate by now moving around his body and even contorting his torso and tail. Not wanting to risk too much as to lose connection with it, Sace awaited further instruction.

Yvain watched with keen eyes the Padawan's hands flow from side to side and through his heart and soul he felt The Force flow around him as he did so. "Good, now slowly reduce the movements in your hands, but keep the strength of the movement. In time you wish to flick a finger to move a boulder, it will be hard and I do not expect you to master this today."

The Padawan had already passed the first test, connecting to The Force consciously, without emotion was difficult for all but those with the pure sight to do so. Sace was able and that was good, they would do some more of this for a time before he moved on to more practical things. "Whenever you have time free, I expect you to do this. To find The Living Force and to flow within it, in time you will be able to do great things." He said nodding his head to the currently blind Slussi. "Practice for a few more minutes and then we can take a break."

And the Sluissi did just that, or at least he tried. Acknowledging his master in his head, again for fear of any further movement breaking his concentration with the Force and losing his momentum. The serpent placed his hands down in his lap just where his tail began to coil in a circle around his whole body.

He could still feel the heart of the Force, the embrace of all of the things around him and the connection that they all shared. From the wind to the ground and insects that crawled deep beneath both Jedi. Other than his forked tongue protruding involuntarily from his lips, the serpent was completely motionless, yet still saw the connection to the Force. He could feel the tendrils of nearly everything around him branch out in every direction, almost ready for him to reach out and grab them, but he dared not. His instructions were simple and he wanted to maintain his connection. His homework would be just this, practicing the ability to connect freely with the Force.

Sace tried not thinking, though his mind was now getting restless. He let his mind go back to that instance with his own father, the emotions it made him feel. The harder he fought to keep his concentration, the more in tune with those feelings he got. Rage and anger began to overcome the serpent, which could now be seen physically on his face. Anguished, Sace tried to fight it off, fearing that his connection would be lost.

Although it was not.

In fact, those tendrils seemed larger and more obtainable. He could now see further, feel the Force acting on nearby animals and other larger beings. And as far as they were, he felt as though he could reach out and grab them.

Secrets...why did he keep them from me?!

Sace was not himself, he let the Force flow through him and now his emotions. They ran rampant. His concentration on the force shifted from just that to the incident and his emotions of how he felt. Not realizing it, the serpent began to rise from the ground, his tail still perfectly coiled in the same position it had been, though now he was about half an inch above the grass. His mind continued as he was suspended, not thinking about who he was with or what path he was currently beginning to go down...he knew not what any of it could mean. His fear of losing connection with the Force faded and his other emotions took over. He had control over the Force, though his emotions were merely acting as a segue to something else...

Yvain brow furrowed as he felt the anger and rage being to build up inside of the Slussi, this was not good. This is what he had feared when taking on someone with a lifetime outside of the Order. But he must not give up, that was not the Jedi way, he needed to reach through to the young Padawan, calm him and allow him to bring himself back under control.

As he fought with his on mind Sace began to rise from the ground next to him, Yvain stood up from his seated position and turned to properly face the Slussi. "Calm your mind Sace, do not give in to your emotions. They cloud your mind and judgement, they act on their own accord." He took a few steps around so he stood in front of the Padawan. "You can feel the fluctuations of The Force around you, they are becoming unbalanced, no longer the calm pond, but a rough and dangerous sea. Find that Rage, that Anger and brush it aside, for that history no longer defines you, you are a Jedi now that is all that matters. Think only of what you have done since you joined The Order. Nothing from before." He hoped the Padawan could pull himself back, put his mind and will back in control of his body, if not he would have to subdue him and wake him from his floating slumber.

Sace could hear the words of his master, but only barely. His mind was racing and putting himself back to just before he had left for the Jedi Order, using all of those emotions all of those feelings to drive him into a Force imbued trance. The Sluissi began to rise even more, now reaching a height of about an inch off of the ground. Blades of grass now started to levitate as he could feel the tendrils of all things reach out to him, and so me met them with his own Force hands, ripping the blades of grass from the ground and carrying them just underneath his height of levitation.

Though if Sace were fully conscious, he'd have no idea how to accomplish this. His emotions taking the drivers seat to his body and mind. Sace did not know the difference between the darkside and lightside of the Force, did not know the true difference between the Jedi and the Sith. Though if he'd be able to snap out of this trance, it wouldn't be something he'd ever forget.

His anger did not lessen, nor had his other emotions showed any signs of letting up. In fact the air around the two Jedi seemed to heat up and a slight wind began to pick up as well. The Jedi Padawan about as far away from consciousness as he'd ever been, even during his outbursts of Force use. The anguish on his face was fierce as he gritted his teeth and squinted his closed eyes...

Yvain let out a sigh, it seemed that perhaps he had pushed to far to soon, had not gotten to learn enough about his student before allowing him to feel the full power of the Living Force. Closing his eyes for a moment he took a deep breath, relaxing his body, arms falling to his sides as the wind picked up around him. The Slussi was indeed powerful in The Force, the air and ground around him showed that, he would just need more training before he could fully tap in again.

Yvain began pulling The Force inside of himself, charging his little body with the benevolent power. Finally he was ready, reaching up he gripped hold of the floating Jedi with The Force, though he kept his grip lose as it was not to hold him still but to catch him. Searching within The Force Yvain delved into the Padawan's body searching for the little blood vessel that connected up to his brain. With a little pinch of power it closed for a just over a second, the lack of rushing blood would knock the Padawan unconscious for a short moment, hopefully allowing him to regain control of himself. The light grip around the body allowed him to fall gently onto the floor next to the Jedi Knight.

Sace could barely remember a thing. The last thing he remembered was focusing hard not to break his connection with the Force...and then blackness.

The serpent lifted his head from the grass to see his green Jedi master standing just next to him. "Mm..masster...what happened...?" Sace felt confused and lightheaded as he picked himself up from the ground and faced Yvain. Many thoughts passed through the Padawans head.

I blacked out? Am I not meant to be a Jedi? Is this not my path?

All questions that he would not dare say aloud for fear of accusations of lack of commitment, which would be anything but the truth. Sace had a moment of doubt, which he'd hoped would be soon cleared up by Yvain.

Yvain watched the young Padawan both with his own eyes and through The Force to see if any hint of what happened before was due to return once he woke up. However it seemed that whatever it was had passed at least for the time being as the Slussi pulled himself upright. "You lost yourself within The Force." Yvain replied before taking a few steps back and sitting himself upon a nearby rock, his body and mind finally relaxing.

"It is not uncommon, you are late to start your training and you have had much to deal with before you touched The Force for the first time." The Jedi Knight rubbed his chin as he contemplated on where to take this conversation and Sace's training next. "What was the last thing you remember, or tried to remember? Was there any memory by chance that came to you?"

Lost myself?...how is that pos... Sace shook the thought. Thinking now of what his master had asked. What he could remember was focusing on the Force, keeping it in his mind, maintaining his connection. Perhaps he focused too hard. Though emotions were now coming to his mind. He remembers feeling the same emotions he had felt when he left his home to search for the Jedi.

That's it.

"I remember concentrating and putting all of my effort into the tassk. Then the thought dawned on me, like a ssstrike of lightning appearing out of no where. The anger I felt when I left home. The hatred that I had felt for my father, who lied to me sso many times." Sace paused.

"You sssee, my father always expressed his hatred for the Jedi...it has sssomething to do with my grandfather and his own brother. Though whenever I asssked I was always given the ssame excuse. The lies of the Jedi and sssuch...anyway, I came to find that my grandfathers brother, I guess my great uncle, was a Jedi massster...This confrontation that I had with my dad was the lasst before I went after the Jedi. It's what caused me to, actually..."

Sace never told anyone this...never needed to. Never thought anyone would need that information. Though he trusted Yvain. Trusted that he would use this information to help his student and help him become a better Jedi.
