Abel Niathal, (pronounced: Ney'thaal) is the Senator for Fondor, having served multiple terms during the leadup to the election of Chancellor Mori Valorum. Known as a Fighter Ace thanks to a combination of his early service in the Fondorian Starfighter Corp, and then later within the Republic Judicial Forces, he is a stern man of military brackground.

Whilst in the Senate, the first time around, he was a strong voice of opposition to the idea of disarmament, going so far as to oppose the nomination of the Chancellor due to her stance on the Grand Army of the Republic, he refused to stand in the next Senatorial Nomination for Fondor, that took place a month after the dissolution of the Army, and signed on as a member of the Republic Judicial Forces.

Serving with the RJF Navy for several years, he saw active service on the front lines during the closing days of the wars, before working to tackle the rising crime surge as a result of the Hutt Cartels increasing influence. Returning to the Senate following the attempted assassination of the Chancellor, Abel made his maiden speech, calling for increased security and a cooling of tempers, focusing on securing the terms and motives behind the Non Agression Pact to allow for a "...full and proper evaluation of the Republics military capacity and strength.".

History

Born to a family of industrial workers in the great shipyards of Fondor, Abel took an interest in political affairs at a young age - and joined the Diplomatic Corp fresh out of college, working on the trade delegation for his homeworld as a junior researcher for much of his mid to late twenties. In such a role, he found himself working closely with the military contractors which dominated the Fondorian Economy, and through that came into contact regularly with leading figures of the Military.

Impressed with what he saw as a shared dedicated to protect and uphold national values, he left the Diplomatic Corp and joined up as a member of the officer branch of the Fondorian Starfighter Corp. Passing his flight tests with flying colours badum tsssch, he was soon serving as a Squadron Leader of the Fondorian Aces, and ran numerous missions against Hutt Smugglers and Pirates in and around the Republics Borders. Serving for a total of ten years, he was ideally placed to push for his nomination as the planetary Senate representative, his ties to the military-industrial complex of Fondor seeing him well sponsored in that endevor.

It came as no surprise when his nomination was accepted, and soon he was off to Coruscant to serve his first stint as the representative for Fondor, dropping back as a reservist for the Fondorian Starfighter Corp as he did so. Throughout his first stint in the Senate Abel was a strong advocate of increased or at least protected military spending, pushing for the Republic to protect its borders despite constant harrassment at the hands of the Exiles and Jedi during the Saber Wars. Voting against the Chancellor Mori Valorums proposal to hold back the fleet, and then to dissolve the GAR, he ceded to her considerably greater senate influence, and did not stand for re-nomination the next time around.

Standing by his convictions, Abel signed on with the Judicial Forces, working within the Starfighter Squadrons there to do what he could to bolster moral and increase capacity for growth within the force. It was in this capacity that he would continue to serve for some seven years, before being forced to retire thanks to his advancing age. Despite this, he would continue flying as a hobby, joining on with local flight 'clubs' and always advocating that he was 'ready and able to serve' if the time came.

Moving into the Corporate World, he took a non-executive directorship with the Fondorian Shipyards, and continued to lobby hard for Veterans rights, going on to push into the political world once more. Securing re-nomination to the Senate seat following the attempted assassination of the Chancellor. Seeing the Republic slowly slipping toward chaos, he pledged to restore order and discipline to the Rotunda, and to work with the hand circumstance had dealt them to secure a bright and prosperous future for the Republic.

Political Stances

As with all Senators, Abel holds certain political positions at the core of what he does in the Senate. Respecting the Rule of Law and ensuring that it is enforced is one of these beliefs, with Abel personally thinking that not enough is being done - at Republic and Individual Level - to counteract and take down the rising tide of Crime coming from the Hutt Cartels space. Beliving that the establishment and those that serve it ought to be respected, and in turn ought to act with professionalism and proper conduct to the people who hold them up; he is a strong believer in civic responsibility.

The protection of Veterans, and the security of the Republic and its member worlds is arguably the center-most tennant he believes in, having lobbied for much of his life to ensure the Republic is able to defend itself. That being said, he does not feel that war is something to be thrown around lightly, preferring to use military strength as a diplomatic incentive. He is a political centrist, believing that the Government has a duty of care to the less fortunate, and a wider responsiblity to protect those it represents from outside aggressors, predatory businesses and criminals.

Personality

A pragmatic character, Abel is a product of the world into which he was born. A consumate politician, he is more than capable and willing to outsmart and turn on those who he deems would get in the way of the 'right votes' getting passed. Standing by his convictions, he is a proud man, more than able to stand up for what he belives in, so much so that he has refused to stand down as a 'territorial volunteer' in the RJF.

Abel is a smooth political opperator, with a keen tactically astute mind - able to manipulate those around him, stirr them to action with his words, and drive them on to adhere to his agenda. He is not above turning on people when it suits him to do so, despite his clear cut image as an 'honest down to earth man'.

Assets

Afforded to him as part of his Senatorial Role, he has access to a Diplomatic Shuttle and an office within the Senate Rotunda - with personal accomodation guaranteed on Coruscant, in the form of an apartment. He owns his own home on Fondor, and keeps a Standard Issue Sidearm and RJF Pilots Suit as part of his territorial RJF Role.

Personally, he owns a 2-L Blaster Rifle, as well as a Hawk-Bat Interceptor, which he most frequently keeps in a hanger attached to his Coruscantian home. Something of a collector, and by virtue of being a liscenced pilot he owns a Kessel Runner Airspeeder and a V-Type Nubian Shuttle.

Types -

Roulette Wheel - A simple 100 item wheel, with odd numbers in black and even numbers in green. Players may do the following -

  • Bet on a number, and win 35x their bet if they win. Players roll 1xD100.
  • Bet on a color, player wins 2x their bet if they win. Players woll 1xD100.

Liars Dice - Each player is 'dealt' five dice. They roll all five (5xD6) and conceal them from their IC foe. For best results, a DM will roll for the players, and PM them their scores.

  • Player/DM rolls, and 'states' what they have. They place money on it, so 'I bet you 500 I have 2 sixes'.
  • Players may call their bluff. If the person does have 2 sixes, the 'caller' must pay the players 500. If they do not have 2 sixes, the player pays the caller 500.

Her excellency Mon Hepithas (pronounced: Hey-Piy-Thas), is a senior Chandrilian Diplomat, having been appointed to the Office of Senator for Chandrila, having previoously held numerous Ambassadorial roles for her homeworld over the course of her life.

Biography

Born into something of a Political Dynasty, with her Father having served as Minister for the Interior at planetary level, and a long line of senior diplomats hailing from her lineage, Mon was expected to head into politics from a young age. Thanks to her families contacts, and considerable landed wealth, she was afforded a position in one of the most exclusive educational facilities on the planet, soon graduating and taking up a role as a lawyer - before being called to the bar at the age of twenty-four.

After two years, Mon was asked to become the legal aide to the incumbent Colonial Liason to the Chandrilain Colonies, a position in which she excelled - soon rising to become the Liasons Chief-of-Staff. Becoming reasonably influential within political circles as she grew older and more well-connected, Mon was soon invited to become an Ambassador for her homeworld, a role she took to with great keenness.

Serving in such a capacity for nearly a decade, she was promoted into the cabinet of the Chandrilian Chief-of-state as the Minister for Foriegn Affairs, continuing in her line of securing authority without submitting herself to the approval of the ballot box. As such, she was ideally placed to take up the position of Senator for Chandrila when her predeccessor brought shame and ridicule to her homeworld by attempting to shoot the Chancellor.

Personality and traits

Hailing from a politial dynasty on Chandrila, from which many senior diplomats and politician have stemmed, Mon is fiercly passionate and highly ambitious - seeing herself as having large shoes to fill. Well educated, and able to speak multiple languages, and with an excellent and keen mind for observing the tactical outlay of the political realm, she is a consumate politician, able and willing to manipulate others in the pursuit of her goals.

Seeking to ensure the dominance and expansion of the Republic, she is a strong believer in the power of diplomacy, backed by a robust military and a firm enforcement and intelligence service. Married to a senior director of the Corellian Engineering Corporation, she worries little for money - and as such is not easily bought or swayed, seeing corruption as a disease that needs to be rooted out of the Senate.

Equipment and assets

Mon has a home on Chandrila, and an apartment on Coruscant. Afforded use of a Diplomatic Shuttle and an Airspeeder by virtire of her position, she makes use of a CSRA-2 Blaster Pistol, and does not like using armour, prefering to avoid combat entirely. She has several comms units and datapads, with her personal wealth stemming from a trust left to her by her father, and her own Senatorial Salary.

Commander Prath Praji was a Republic Naval Commander, and former Senator - having resigned from his seat as Senator for the Core World of Coruscant to take a commission in the armed forces following the signing of the Non-Aggression Pact between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire. He was appointed to the Senate by his Uncle, the Patriarch of the House Praji, shortly following his fourtieth birthday, having previously served as a Trade Envoy for the House Prajis shipping business - Praji Shipping and Transport.

As a member of the wealthy House Praji, whose wealth stemmed primarily from its involvement in pan-galactic shipping and colonisation, he was one of several members of the family to enter a political career, and has been widely critiqued in the media as having 'surfed on the coat-tails' of his family name. There is little doubt that his familial connections did not approve of his resignation from the Senate, as he was disinherited when he announced his resignation.

Biography

Prath Praji was born into the esteemed House Praji on the Core World of Coruscant, and practically fell into the lap of luxury from a young age. Home educated at first, he was then moved into one of the elite Guild Schools of the Core, which his Uncle (the incumbent 'Patriarch' of the House) patronised extensively. Moving quickly through middle school, he went on to study law at the University of Kuat - getting into the prestigious University thanks to his mothers connections with one of the minor Kuati offshoot houses.

During his time at University, he was encouraged by his family to become more politically active, and joined the Galactic Peoples Party through one of their many University Branches, soon rising to the position of President of the Branch - a position that was seen by many as a rapid entry route into politics upon graduation. Sure enough, whilst many of his peers headed off to further study or into the legal profession follwing graduation, Prath was hired by the Galactic Peoples Party as one of the Policy Advisors, and was soon working as a senior member of the Campaign Staff on the election of the next Corellian President.

Keeping a low profile, he became something of a 'Master of the Dark Arts' - excelling at Opposition Research and the dirty underside of political tactics, and whilst this was not enough to secure the election for his party, it was enough to see him handed a seat on the Coruscanti Council; floated into one of the safe seats for his party, into one of the electoral areas that looked after the opulent Entertainment District. He was to prove to be a maverick on the back-benches of Coruscants Planetary Government, linking the party up with wealthy donors, and securing for himself a considerable war-chest to back his own ambitions, namely securing the nomination as Planetary Senator.

Launching his bid at the Galactic Peoples Party Planetary Conference he stormed the nomination, clinching the vote by just one elector - making his Senate seat one of the most marginal of the elected seats in the galaxy, something he remains very much aware of to this day. For Prath, two options appear to exist, one - focus on securing his own seat, or two - focus on taking a higher office for his own.

Within the Senate, he was quick to align himself with the Galactic Peoples Party once again, sitting firmly in the center-right of Galactic Politics, pushing for an expanded and strengthened Republic, one of predominatly core-led and modelled values. With strong links to Coruscanti Nobility, and Business, he was seen as something of an elitist - but none the less was a capable combatant in the field of politics, and more than willing to get his hands dirty in other Senate Business should the occassion call for it.

Resignation: Change of Career

Despite his high-morals, or at least 'percieved high morals', Senator Praji is a product of the climate into which he was born, and as such is 'thick as thieves' with many of the power brokers on Coruscant, be they legitimate businesses or noble houses. Despite this he is a staunch Republican, and a firm believer in the Repblics ideals. However, his time within the confines of the Senate Rotunda would be brief indeed, and five years after taking up the Office of Senator for Coruscant, he resigned citing 'a growing concern about the security of the Republic, and a deep seated need to be part of the solution'.

Ceding his seat, and thus not standing in the election for Senator at the end of his term, he took up a commission within the Naval branch of the Republic Judicial Forces, passing through training and taking up the role of 'Commander' within the small fleet of the Republic, with a remit to interact with the Republic Intelligence Services, building on his skill set from his days as a political opposition researcher. He was accepted into his role as a Commander in the Navy, and began to pursue this with great eagerness.

Starting out by arranging a small team of RJG Intelligence Agents, Army Personnel and Fighter Pilots - he put together a counter-crime team, focused on rapidly responding to threats originating from within Hutt Cartel Space. Furthermore, he began to activetly lobby his former-fellow Senators to increase the RJFs resources and authority ahead of what he felt was a rising war on crime.

Personality and traits

Prath Praji was a well mannered, to the point of absurdity, man - with a calm and collected demenour, that hid his true feelings expertly. Falling very much on the right-wing of the political spectrum, he believed firmly in the rights of the 'Old Blood' of the Core, and feels as though a series of 'Galactic Standardisation Methods' (language and currency) are required to enable the Galaxy as a whole to develop and prosper. As such, he is fluent in galactic basic, and must make use of a protocol droid to translate any other language.

Political astutue, he is more at home in the arena of the Senate than he is on the battlefield - although he is a capable pilot, and a reasonable adept slicer (thanks to his time as an Opposition Researcher, in which trade such skills became useful indeed). He is a good judge of character, and tends to keep his friends close, and his enemies closer.

He is not afraid to get his hands dirty, something that was exemplified by his willingness to make the move from the political arena over to the military one, and is a realist - understanding that on a world such as Coruscant, one must mingle with the wrong people in order to get ahead.

Once outside of the world of politics however, other aspects of his personality began to flourish and develop - perhaps due to him being able to 'be himself' now that he was outside of the public limelight. Stoic and practical, he hid his true feelings very well - understanding the need to adhere to the hierarchy that the armed forces had foisted upon him. Fond of those under his command, he considered himself a harsh, yet just commanding officer.

Powers and abilities

A skilled pilot, with his physical fitness adhering to military standards thanks to the training required of him within his navy role, he is a reasonable shot with a blaster although prefers to avoid having to use one if needed. Fluent in Galactic Basic, he had a keen eye for detail - and a wide knowledge of different cultures and traditions.

Umknown to many he is also a capable information gatherer, or spy, able to make use of survelliance technology easily, and indeed - he often has at least one such item on him at all times. He is a good judge of character, able to read people with reasonable ease. Alongside this he has a mastery of etttiquette, and can be sometimes unnervingly well-mannered and presented.

With regard to his military capabilities, he is a capable shot with a side-arm, as well as a good pilot. His skills regarding naval command are developing, but thanks to his reasonable public speaking abilities and generally good strategic mindset, they are not all that bad.

Command Style

A harsh commander, but deemed to be fair to those under his remit who do their jobs 'well and without question', Commander Praji is a connsumate 'Hunter-Killer Captain', opting for the silent running rapid strike vessels, such as the Drexsl whenever is possible. Partnering up with special forces and the officers of the Republic Intelligence Forces, he believes that rapid, often deadly, action is required - leveraging the Republics superior fleet strength to disable the key military-industrial assets of rising powers, before they become a viable threat.

Equipment and assets

Prath makes use of whatever gear he is permmitted to use in his military role, and as such his gear is named in the opening post of his roleplays. More often than not he is armed with a standard issue sidearm, and standard issue armour - over which he most often wears his naval uniform. Alongside this, he makes use of a Pilots Suit, RJF Version most of the time, especially when on combat missions, provided by the RJF as general standard safety equipment for serving officers and troops.

Whilst he does not own them, Prath is trained in the piloting of many Republic Ships - the ST-9 Starfighter, STB-e Bomber, Diplomat Class Shuttle, Raider Patrol Boat and even the Drexl-Class Attack Corvette.

Commander Iosef Perlmera Axum (pronouned: Josef) was a Republic Naval Commander born on the world of Anaxes. Famed for its shipyards, as well as its prediliction toward the training and education of high profile naval figures in the wider galaxy, Anaxes was certainly living up to its reputation when it sent Iosef out into the world. Born to a family of shipping executives, all of whom had been called to serve in the Anaxian Armed Forces during the Saber Wars, Iosef was raised in the tradition of a military family, and as such proceeded directly into the Anaxian War College as soon as he was able to.

Graduating and moving into the ranks of the Anaxian Navy in the closing years of the Saber wars, Iosef served as a Junior-Commander on board a Corvette during the war, earning distinction for his anti-fighter tactics, as well as his open willingness to partner with the Republic Central Navy, as well as members of the Covert and Special Intelligence Forces across the front. Such an openness was clearly noticed, and he was seconded into the Republic Navy, surviving the disbandment of the GAR, and transferring over into the Republic Judicial Forces soon after.

His main operational remit since the foundation of the RJF has been two-fold. Firstly, Anti-Piracy operations have taken up a considerable amount of his time, often working exceedinly closely with members of the Republic Intelligence Forces. This part of his work has seen him developing 'assets in the field' as well as supporting on spying operations himself on more than one occassion, in partnership with local policing forces on many occassions. Secondly, he was worked extensively with the Core-Ward Fleet, tasked with securing the airspace around Coruscant itself - which has meant that he has often been in touch with Senators, either as their escort, attache, or in more that one case - pilot.

Following the attack on the Senate Gala by suspected Hutt Agents, Iosef put in for a transfer, so as to enable his work to have a greater focus on countering Hutt movements outside of Republic Space, and was reported to have request meetings with numerous Senators to lobby for the expandeed power and resources of the RJF to 'do it's job well'.

Personality, Skills & Traits

A loyal and practical man, Iosef is driven by the tennants of 'Order, Peace and Security', which he views it as his job to advance, and to enforce. Highly capable at the controls of a fighter, and likewise as skilled commanding ships and naval operations, he is also talented with standard issue firearms, having undergone marine training. Thanks to his partnering with intelligence outfits, he can speak Huttese and Droid-Speak alongside Basic - considered vital in the execution of his anti-hutt duties.

A staunch disciplinarian, he does not speak out of turn unless expressly permitted to do so, and as such has never spoken about regarding his deep mistrust of the Jedi (who he views as a danger to the Republic) and his rapidly eroding sense of belief in the effectiveness of the Senate to 'get things done'. Believing firmly that sometimes, you just have to make hard decisions regardless of what the popular vote may tell you, he is of the opinion that the Senate has robbed the Armed Forces of their 'teeth'.

Equipment

Much of Iosefs equipment comes from his position, including his Judicial Forces Armour which he always wears beneath his longcoat, cut in the traditional style of his homeworld. He always carries a Standard Issue Sidearm as well as a combat knife about his persons.

All other equipment and gear will be noted in the OP of any and all threads.
