The Order of Zenkai

An unlikely coupling of the Jedi and Matukai traditions. After the Empire began to purge the galaxy of Force Users two female Jedi made it to the planet of Naboo. While one, Nera, was decidedly attuned specifically to the Light Side of the Force, her companion, Tiran, was a Dark Jedi. They lived for a time in peace until they felt the budding powers of a force sensitive being. This brought them in contact with a man called Kane.

Immediately the three could feel a strong connection with the Force from one another. Tiran, acting in with haste, attacked Kane with the thought that he may have been sent by the Empire. A small battle broke out between them for a moment until Nera intervened and stopped it. When it clear that neither side was of the Empire, the three escaped with the budding adept. Once they felt safe, then came the debate on which tradition would teach the adept.

The seeds of change were planted when the adept asked to learn from both the Jedi and the Matukai. The three looked at each other and were confused about how to accomplish such a task. At first the adept would train with the Jedi and then the Matukai. At times this brought about clashes between the two teaching methods until the three decided to band together and teach each other what they were teaching the adept. Soon all four were on the same page, and noted the strengths and weaknesses in each other's traditions.

Nera and Tiran abandoned their lightsabers and took up physical blades. Tiran worked hard to blend her lightsaber form with the Matukai training she had received in order to impress Kane. He took note of it, but also took note of how she called upon the Dark Side. Being the only one out of the three teachers that called upon the Dark Side, this was yet another thing that drove a wedge between Tiran, Kane and Nera. After training their first adept to the point where he could train others, he left the three and continued the work they started.

Each chance that he was presented with he took a bidding adept under his wing and taught them to control and hide their powers so that those who hunted force sensitive beings couldn't find them. Eventually this brought him back in contact with Kane and the others. And they decided to fight the Empire. The small group of force sensitive beings lent what power they could to the rebellion. After the fall of the Empire, the three went back to Naboo and continued to openly teach their ways to others. This was the true beginning of the Zenkai Order.

But that was also when things began to fall apart. Nera and Kane had grown closer with their time together, and this angered Tiran. She had an interest in Kane and felt that she was the better mate for him. She tried to seduce him, but to no avail. When that didn't work Tiran left with a small number of disciples and was not heard from for some time. But that didn't last long.

Tiran returned and attacked her former companions. Nera died in the initial attack, but Kane managed to get to safety after being injured. After waiting for a time to fully recover from his wounds, Kane donned the first mask of the Black Spirit. And for the first time he gave in to his anger after having lost Nera. Others that survived donned mantles of their own and aided Kane with his mission of vengeance. Though they fought to rid their people from oppression.

Kane passed on the teachings that Nera from that day forth would be known as the Lady of Mercy, while Tiran would be known as the Lady of Malice. He taught that both resided within everyone, but just because one had darkness in their hearts did not mean they had to give in to it or nurture it. One should strive to find the Light of Mercy, and to show its light to others. No longer purely a user of the Light Side, he was forced to teach balance between the two sides. Just because Malice gave birth to a skill did not mean that Mercy could not guide its hand.

His teachings have continued to be passed on through time. Though their true teachings have been forgotten from time to time, the purpose of the Zenkai is to help and defend. Due to events having repeated themselves in recent history, this left D' Orrin to put the broken pieces of the order back together. Though their origins started on Naboo, Orrin has decided to create a fortress temple on Felucia for general training and living purposes.
Though not everyone whom decides to join the order need be force sensitive. Anyone simply looking to protect and offer aid to others is more than welcome to join.

For those who join that are non Force Sensitive, you aren't given the short stick of things. As technology becomes more readily available, new weapons and armor technologies will be created specifically with you in mind. For now, we offer upgrades to your existing equipment if asked, as well as personalized equipment creation. (I.e. You have a piece of gear in mind and we can collaborate on how to get it functional.)

The base of Operations is stationed on the planet Felucia, and is an replica of the ancient Jedi temple on the planet Coruscant. This is a means to try and get back to the origin of at least part of how the Order was first instated. Felucia being something of a wild planet has it's own mystic feel to it. Using his abilities and knowhow to construct the temple whenever he had time between missions. Though not an exact duplicate, as each corner of the outside of the temple as well as the hangar is defended by turbo laser turrets.

Not exactly the all benevolent type, the Order both works with populations to offer aid such as security details and healing to the sick when needed. One of the frigates is used primarily as a mobile hospital of sorts. But the Order is not above the common point of mercenary or bounty hunter contracts. Though to keep the appearance of a somewhat approachable organization, bounty hunter contracts are often the main means of income. This allows the Order to acquire more inventory in the way of taking weapons and armor technologies from vanquished enemies. This allows for a greater stockpile of weapons as well as extra parts for gear.

Bounty hunting being the primary point of capital revenue, one to four men are sent out for a job. Though the only ones that go on solo missions are Knight level warriors. Otherwise the lowest number of operatives to a job is two. Operatives are given a portion of the bounty with the rest being used to fund repairs to equipment and resupply depleted stockpiles. This process of handling funds is also employed with mercenary and security enforcement jobs.

An additional method of gaining income is the use of Felucia's land for farming. Using the technology available as well as the mystic ability of those capable, the land is manipulated to produce the best crop available. A third is used to aid in feeding the members of the Order, a third is simply sold for additional resources, and the last portion is given to those of less fortunate communities.

A percentage of the funds is directed into technical research. This pertains to the securing of employment with parts suppliers, but most of the manufacturing of equipment is accomplished by a number of droids devoted to a process of factory production methods. One part of the process occurs at the facility on Felucia, while another portion happens on Raxus Prime. Normally a number of ten droids are used to tirelessly scan and scavenge for usable parts and materials, regularly sending shipments to be sent to an on world facility for processing of materials and repurposing of parts and components where ten other droids devoted to points of production create final products that are sent to Felucia.

Scavenging teams are also sent into space to acquire materials and components from destroyed ships.

Recently, due to the battles that took place upon Naboo, the Order has come into ownership of imperial technology in the form of the standard weapons and armor of vanquished Stormtroopers. After surgically dissecting the armor and weapons, the Order documented the process and used its resources to reverse engineer them. Each soldier is now outfitted with Black on Black color scheme Centurian Armor, and Ripperjacks. Though the helmets are customized to look Mandalorian, with the bottom of the helmets being rounded off.

Oi. I'm not one of the staff or anything, but I saw this and I wanted to offer some advice.

Once you have the general idea of the faction you want to create down, it's best to do an interest check in the rules and discussion section, to see if there's a demand for a role that you want this faction to fulfill. It's best to do that before you put really heavy work into the faction...it sucks when you create something epic and it dies because you didn't promote it properly :P. You can also use the blog function to put down any ideas you might have that you want to share publically about the faction's mythos, goals, structure, etc, but aren't quite finished and are unready to go into the main faction thread.

Also, I'd recommend reading some of the Waste Rangers write-up stuff in their Records section, here. In my year's experience on the site, they've been the ones to essentially set the bar to what amounts to a successful Indie faction in this timeline. Though they're pretty much dead now, believe me, they had a badass run thanks to the work Duke, Zay, Gamov, and other leaders of the faction put into making it such an immersive experience.

And don't be afraid to ask questions about making your faction more appealing and such. I'm willing to help (though I might not be the best to do so, lol), as are a lot of people on the site who have experience with this sort of thing. Green Ranger, the faction admin/Dark Jedi leader, for example, as well as other people on this board who've created independent factions of their own, all have other tips and stuff they can share if you ask.

Anyways, I wish you luck with making this thing huge!

Just to add to what Kaane stated. There is a faction in the archives that gave me inspiration for a faction that I had created, but it wasn't approved. Since this is a force faction, I hope this links provide can help give you some tips. The first link in particular was able to give me inspiration, and is the faction I am speaking about in my second sentence.

Nightsisters of The Stormstride

Zeison Sha

Knights of Byllura

This are some of the factions that I myself, and some members have found to be interesting. I linked my own faction idea because I hoped it would be able to help you as well, and give you some ideas.

I should really beat you up for making me wait this long. I thought you were gonna make this sooner? You haven't even put up a single weapons spec! Last time you had five up before your first IC post. You, my friend, are slipping. Oh. And obviously I'm in. I'll text Brandon and let him know you finally got off your ass and made it.

And......... if you remember correctly, one of the reasons why I'm not on that forum anymore is because an admin didn't understand the specs to one of my designs, took a dislike to its capabilities and deemed that it couldn't work, without even bothering to ask me about the specifics. Then proceeded to say I didn't know what I was doing. Always love that part.

Two things. Firstly, add me to the roster fat boy. The next is you still can't out bench press me.

Is there a reason Sight is a Master ability?? It's one of the most basic Sense abilities a person can acquire.

Number of abilities associated with the basic level of things. If am initiate can do a mass of things, it usually ends in a bunch of griping and complaining.

On top of that, I don't remember seeing it being described as a simple feat to be accomplished. But it's also a point of how different traditions view abilities differently. For instance, force weapon is an initiate level ability among the Zenkai and the Matukai, but traditions such as the Jedi and Sith wouldn't have much of a use for that ability due to their use of lightsabers.

So all in all, it's a reflection of how things are taught differently as per how your own tradition and teaching.

Sorry. I'm a bit drugged up (allergies suck), so maybe I'm just missing something but it sounds like you're saying that you're just listing out abilities that each rank could learn (not specifically those ones but rather powers in that...tier we'll say) which is fine. I'm just saying that Sight is more of a low class ability than anything else. Like Acolytes and Padawans learn that. But you have it listed under Master.

Which also I'm not faulting you for. So don't take this as me telling you how to list things XD I'm just curious. And again I may just have missed your point cause of the various chemicals floating in my blood right now. But
..yeah. Lol.

Apparently you did miss my point, as I explained that in my previous post. You're equating it in terms of Jedi and Sith, and it doesn't work like that. The Zenkai aren't the Jedi. Also I'll point out again that in my research it does not claim the ability in question as low level. Since you continue to state that it's a padawan skill, that would even further enforce the point I've made about different traditions teaching different things. Where one tradition teaches something early on, another may teach it later, if at all. Which is the point where I reference my point on Force Weapon. Jensaari, Matukai and Zenkai may use it heavily, but the Jedi and Sith wouldn't rely on it as much due to their use of lightsabers.

I'm not gonna do the whole Shadow Ops idea, so sign me babe. And Bob Marley, he still out benches you. He might only bench 220 two times, but he benches 180 five times. You only did it four times from what I've seen.

You edited your post after I commented =P Just saying.

With the edit it makes sense. Lol. Like I said. I'm not targeting you or anything. It was just a question, brah.

My bad guys. I've been busy with school. I'm gonna try and be more active from now on. Go ahead and put me on the roster. I also see you're already designing weapons and causing trouble. Dude, we've barely been here. Give it some time.

I'll update the roster in a second. Since you're not a force wielder you get the rank of Commander, which is the equivalent of a Knight. It gives you the ability to take npc squads into battle with you when you want, as opposed to the Commando, which needs permission.
