The Order of the Luminado
History
In the years before the Sith empire was ever conceived, when wars with the Hutt Empire devastated the galaxy, a band of mercenary Jedi were formed under the banner of the Luminado Mercenaries. They were a fearsome force, a group of grey Jedi soldiers that carried no true affiliation with the major forces of the galaxy. They were respected by many, and hated by many more. There were divisions in their ranks even, causing civil war and unrest. Many Luminado died trying to fight for what they originally stood for.
Then, there came an unexpected leader who united the true Luminado to stand against the rebels in one last fight to reunite them. The two leaders fought and dueled on the planet of Svivren to the bitter end. Once the battle was over, the one who stood for the just cause won, and the corrupt one faded into his being, creating one man. This man left the Luminado, though, feeling they should choose for themselves who the appropriate leader should’ve been.
For several more years, the Luminado remained under constant changes in their grand general. Many great ones came, but many more corrupt ones as well. Eventually, they disbanded, feeling there was nothing more to gain since their original founder was presumed dead. There came an agreement to disband the mercenaries and relieve their fortresses and ships to the republic.
When he was young, Kale Vanguard was a prominent force sensitive. He was able to use Telekenesis early, and learned how to use the ‘dark powers’ of the force for what was right. He was trained as a Jedi, but left them when he became a knight, feeling the Jedi were too close minded in their belief. He believed the only dark side of the force was how one used those certain powers and how one desired them.
He believed that one shouldn’t be so excluded from anything that makes beings so unique to themselves. He knew the force and had a close connection to it, but also knew that pleasures were something that kept a person going, and that there would never truly be a lasting peace in the universe. He knew the difference in ignorance and acceptance. He knew that sometimes, giving aid to those who needed it was truly helpful, but other times would bring their downfall.
When he first started to notice these things, he left the order in search of something he could use to express the truth of the force. During his deep space travels, he discovered something that no Jedi archive ever explained before; an ancient battleship bearing the symbol of an old faction and the name moriah. Out of curiosity, he boarded and explored the abandoned vessel.
Kale was surprised to see that the ship was still operable and had enough fuel to make it to a nearby planet. When he accessed its’ databanks, he found information on an old faction of mercenaries called the Luminado. He agreed with their view of the force and how they trained its’ members, but not that they needed to do it for credits. He found mercenaries to be barbaric and frowned upon. However, he felt the force was guiding him to this ship, telling him that a new order was to be found; the order of the Luminado.
