Music. It could bring so many kinds of people together, all connected by their shared love of it. The Morgue had opened up last weekend as a haven for the goth and adjacent-alternative scenes, and Deadspace Wives had the opportunity to open for the celebratory concert. With famous names like the Remedy, Type IV Atmosphere, and Marie and the Phantoms following, it felt like a huge deal for the little-known band. Though they were far from unknown on Coruscant's Level 2131, they'd only recently begun to gain traction after their recently-released album charted.

They were playing again today, though the crowd was much smaller now that the big names had gone out and the tourists were no longer interested. Desdemona couldn't lie; she almost preferred the smaller crowds. It was so much easier to connect with a crowd like this, and there were always less tourists in the crowd. Not that she would ever turn anyone away for wanting to check out the scene, but it was a proven fact that they were more likely to cause trouble.

"We're on in five?" Des asked, leaning over the back of her chair to stare and then squint at the ceiling. There was a metallic pink balloon stuck up in the rafters. She couldn't imagine what that was for.

"Yeah, 'bout. Bet we could go out early if we wanted, though," Hecate responded.

"I gotta piss first, hold up- "

"TMI Raven," Bella groaned.

Fives minutes later, once Raven was out of the bathroom, the four Deadspace Wives made their way onto the stage. The lights fell on them, the crowd threw their hands up in excitement, the strum of guitar strings reverberated over the amps, and the show began.

...
No sympathy for oppressors, whoever they may be!
A place in hell for those who assist lords of bigotry!

And the freedom fighters, the sorely oppressed,
Will become tarred in the media as insurgents!

While innocent are dying in a plan to terrorize,
The media are lying and the censors bowdlerize!

boy! what a chase poor "rook" was experiencing today, he had just shook loose of idealistic fools who had, well, not taken a keen liking to him dueling a.. person, over relics, "rook" had gone further down... wow... it was dark.. really dark, and here he was trying to blend in, when out of nowhere, the most.. horrible voices.. singing? damn that was worse than Mandalorian throat singing, and that was bad.. erupted, he figured this would his chance to law low for a hot second, coordinate, escape. but he better not get his hopes up, the rabble here seemed pretty emo.. he hated emo.

"hut'uun.. just my luck huh."

well, his pitch blackened Mandalorian armor certainly fit in here, he put on his "rook" persona like a sick mask, ever the clever son of a bitch, and makes his way through.

When their time was up, the Deadspace Wives took a moment to wave to the crowd before they took their leave from the stage. Another band quickly took their place and, after an introduction, began playing their first song.

While Bella, Raven, and Hecate headed back to the four's flat, Des opted to stay for now. Now that she was off stage and out from under the hot stage lights, she threw a coat on over her outfit and headed down to join the crowd.

"Des! Good shit up there!" She approached the bar, and the bartender struck up conversation once she slid onto one of the stools. "Thanks man. Anything new?" she responded with a grin.

"Drinks? Same ol' stock. Round here? Same ol', same ol'. Apparently, there's a Mandalorian here somewhere. Someone mentioned it earlier."

"A Mando?" Her grin melted away, replaced by a focused, intense look as she looked over her shoulder into the crowd, hoping to spot said mando. She wasn't sure she believed the bartender. Or, actually, she wasn't sure if whoever had told the bartender what they'd seen had actually seen a mando. She'd never met one before, but she knew they were warmongerers. Not the sort that would be wanted down here if whoever was here to cause trouble, but if they were just here to vibe, it would be no issue.

"I'll take a whiskey."

c'mon.. just a little longer, huh.. ah shit. he heard the siren of the authorities, but they whizzed by, no issue, thank god, he looked about, not that he was worried, they were fools, incompetent nowadays, nothing compared to the first galactic empire, no sirie, he heard stories about their police down here in the underworld from his elders.. when he was still with them, boy were they scary. \

he moved through the crowd of self styled "rebels."

rebels nowadays, bah, didn't know a damn thing about going against the grain, if they REALLY wanted to get some work done they should be up above wrecking havoc. now that would a sight to see. coruscant in chaos, with him at the center pulling the strings, sith order would love it, but he focused on the here and now, here, he was being chased by police for causing so much trouble in a duel, that they got involved, and now, in a moshpit with a bunch of wannabe chaos agents. oh how the mighty have fallen..

Des turned around in her seat, leaned up against the bar, and peered out into the crowd while she sipped on her whiskey. This kind of drink usually felt really pretentious, and as she sipped on it, she found herself regretting her choice of booze. But the bartender often gave her and the other musicians who played here drinks on the house, so she liked to try something new now and again. She was thinking it was best if she stuck to beer and wine for now.

It was then that she spotted the Mando. They were moving through the crowd, clad in their iconic armor. The plating was very dark; in the midst of this sort of gathering, they actually managed to look the part. No wonder she hadn't spotted them until now. Curious about who they were and what they were doing here, Des decided to be hospitable. If she could catch the Mando's attention when she saw their visor turn toward the bar, she would wave them over.

There was no need to even catch his attention, as he walked right up to the bar, sighing.

"Rancor fury?"

He nodded, he needed a strong drink for the absolute shit storm he just got into, and something to make him not nearly as pissed off at these punks.

He leaned his back on the bar table, not Taking his eyes off the exit.

"So what's up with the get-up? Are you an ac-" Des stopped short when the stranger ordered their drink, their voice gurgling out through their voice modulator, disgusting whatever tone or pitch they might naturally speak in. "Rancor fury?" She'd never heard of that drink before; it sounded glaringly like a Mandalorian drink.

"Not familiar with that one son, but tell me how to make it for ya' and I will." The bartender didn't seem the recognize the concoction either, but as long as Rook told him the just of it, it'd be made for him right away.

"So, you're a Mando, huh? What brings you to the Morgue?" Des' voice, on the other hand, was far from modulated. She did have a monotone way of speaking, like she didn't really care about anything she said or heard, but her attentive eyes said otherwise. She was curious. She didn't really have any reason to be anything but, yet.

"oh nevermind, it's just a really strong drink you tend to find on the outer rim, like, knockout level stuff, I'll take whatever you got for a strong drink."

He sighed, leaning his back on the desk, best look natrual and entertain the woman.

"What? I can't wander anymore? Can't explore?"

He spoke, the voice modulator not hiding the teasing edge in his personality, the feeling of "I know more than you, I could share, but I don't feel like it"

Not a damn chance he was telling a random that police were after his hide.
