Question for the Admins,

I am aware that the Ysalamiri are off limits, as usual due to their anti-force properties. I was wondering, however, if the ability to train a Vornskr is within the boundaries of the site and new canon.

My thought is for Rymann, my Mandalorian character, to be called upon after the events of Iron Curtains Cost Money under the rule that though he is now Border Alliance, his first priority remains with his Journeyman Protector duties. He, along with a few others if there is an interest, are sent to investigate reported criminal activity on Mandalore under his constable status, and discover the involvement of X criminal organization to essentially poach and/or capture these creatures from Myrkr and then smuggle them into the greater galaxy for a profit. I'd like him to perform the mission, and adopt a Vornskr pup, as an interesting companion, Embo-style.

The priority of this post is the ruling as to whether or not I am allowed to have a Vornskr, or if that would be too powerful, and if so, what the allowances and stipulations of a mission to Myrkr would entail. If the ruling is a yes and the mission is feasible, I would then like an interest check for anyone who is willing to be a part of this mission; Border Alliance members and Mandalorian characters make sense, but there are places for others as well if it makes sense, as well as space for antagonists as I am not opposed to PvP for some of the scenes as there will be an opposing element for the mission as well that I will NPC if no one has an interest there.

Thanks ahead of time!

@Benvenu7 , hey, crime solving is fun, but that's not the true direction I necessarily want Rymann to head! Thanks for the invite though, my friend!

You are indeed allowed to train vornskr, but I will tell you that in a real PvP fight your animal would be virtually worthless. NPCs, and your pet would be an NPC, are nothing more than animated props to tell a story with. For story purposes and story intimidation, go right ahead my friend, enjoy yourself : )

But for PvP, I would caution against putting faith in your animal. All that disregarded, it's allowed, go for it.

I'm very aware of this, yes. PvP is based on the skill of the writer; the point of the animal is a story device, something to add to the character throughout his growth, for the roleplay aspect. It may come in handy in story threads that lead to PvP, but other than that, I don't plan on having the creature as a weapon.

Regardless, my faith in combat falls more on my own knowledge and skill, both as a writer and a martial artist. I thank you for the warning, though.

I figured since it wasn't on the restricted list it was a go, but asked anyways just to be sure. However, I'd still like to know how best to roleplay on Myrkr. I do not intend to encounter them, but roleplays do not always go as planned unless I run a solo thread, which is not my intention.

Definitely an interesting story idea, I'd tend to agree that as long as you don't use one in a combat scenario then you're probably fine.

As for roleplaying on Myrkr, I have an (unapproved) fanon species called Reshek that populate it; chances are you'd probably end up running into them if you did roleplay there, since they're the only sentient species living there. Unfortunately they haven't been accepted yet, but I can tell you a few things about the planet.

Myrkr is a very lush planet, with a day/night cycle almost identical to Earth's. I don't remember reading how tall these trees are, but from what I imagine, they'd be pretty large. Myrkr's plants naturally have large amounts of metal in them, making scanning and tracking devices extremely difficult to use.

Yepp. I always pictured it like a less grey Dagobah, sort of like the misty parts of the Amazon Rain Forest, but on a planetary scale. It will be a dangerous mission; hey, if your species is approved, this could be a chance for you to hop in!

If the mission is approved, then I'd like to volunteer either Lisa or Rika. Lisa is Border Alliance so she'd be there for the mission and to back up Rymann. Rika, she's a more versatile variable. If you want she can be either a friend or a foe, it's your call. I'd just recommend checking out the profile before making your choice as Rika is kind of a dangerous opponent.

Both would work, for sure! Excellent profiles, both.

My notes so far are calling for a five act plot, taking up a total of a week game time.

Act 1 will be more investigative, layered with some combat, based off of Mandalore; Rymann and whoever joins in as an ally will begin there. I plan to pull some of the Mandalorian politics in here to start the plot and get things moving, along with a position for any offworlders or antagonist PCs for the start of this mission.

Act 2 will begin the mission to Myrkr, being mostly space based. More of a social act here for character growth between players, but I'm leaving room for some conflict if there are any antagonists here.

Acts 3 and 4 will be upon Myrkr, and is more survival and wilderness exploration, also introducing some of the fauna, including Vornskr. Again, leaving room for conflict if we have any antagonists.

The final act will be mostly conflict, and will be more of a traditional combat act involving infiltration, combat, and the like as we discover the source of the problems from Mandalore. Without giving anything away, it involves a hidden base!

After that, its just a matter of wrapping up the thread and returning to Mandalore for rewards/renown/whatever. Simple stuff.
