Ask The mission on Telerath

As it came with their job and authority it brought the Sector Rangers had the ability to track down the wanted criminals even outside of the jurisdictional planet borders. This made it so that even if the occasional criminal scum wanted to retreat and hide away somewhere far a determined and motivated Ranger could still be on his tail without the need to worry about the jurisdiction politics preventing his work. Such was the case as a known Devaronian mob boss Gendar Khruk was finally tracked down with enough clear evidence and reason for the man's arrest. However after a skirmish on the planet of Nar Shadaa that included Gendar's mob forces the criminal was able to retreat and flee to the planet of Telerath, a place known as a resort but also a hub for many shady faces and criminal activities. Not wanting to give up the search for the man the one of the Sector Rangers followed and due to the potential of Gendar having some more partners and forces on Telerath a Jedi Knight that happened to be relatively nearby was dispatched to help the ranger with the apprehension of the wanted criminal.

Leaning on to a side of his ship with his arms crossed Caelum waited for his would be partner to arrive looking pretty relaxed. The young Jedi had a knack for combat in general and missions similar to this one so him being the closest one to the designated planet was a stroke of perfect luck and the Order felt confident that young Caelum would prove to be a sufficient support for the Ranger. ''Welp.. it's almost time. Let's hope this guy's punctual.'' Caelum jokingly muttered to himself not knowing any of the information about the Sector Ranger he was to be paired up with due to the 'last second' nature of the mission.

[Elara Salis]

Elara was so relieved to learned that she'd have a Jedi partner for this one. After her last encounter, with another Devonian no less, it made her realize how under prepared she was. But now with blaster and blast vest both, she felt a bit better. And a Jedi...probably her greatest defense. Well, second, she thinks, to her incredible charms. She smirks at that thought. If she can't win them by charm, everyone has a price anyhow. If not, and hopefully it wouldn't come to that, she wasn't too bad with a blaster. But Elara abohrs violence, so it would be nice if this Devaronian didn't put up fight. She sighs though, as the ship approaches the target planet, because she knows that's highly unlikely. However, he's already had a stand off with his forces, from what the data pad on the guy told her, so hopefully he would have maximum a few people with him, if at all. She tries not to think about it.

She landed on Telerath without any issues, and quickly put on her blast vest. Even though she zips it up, it doesn't really provide much cover for the crop top she wears underneath. Her blaster firmly on her side, she checks where she is meant to meet this jedi, leaving her BG droid to look after the ship, which is in tip top condition anyway.

"BG, if there are issues, call me." The droid answers with a few enthusiastic beep, followed by a few short, low pitched ones.

"Yes, don't worry, I'll be careful. I'm with a Jedi this time!" She waves BG goodbye and descends.

The planet has a very odd atmosphere, the red sky making it all look very ominous, yet the terrain wasn't unpleasant. But then again, all kinds of criminals made this planet their refuge, so she has to be on alert. Walking around briskly, she finally arrived at where she was meant to be.

''Welp.. it's almost time. Let's hope this guy's punctual.''

Elara smirked, the tone of the voice not lost on her. As she spotted a man roughly her age looking casual, she approached him from the side, while he was looking the other way.

"I prefer being fashionably late..Even though I'm not late, I'm in fact on time." Elara offers her hand as she takes a good look at him. Not bad looking at all, tall and seemingly with a sense of humour. This mission already started better.

"Elara Salis, nice to meet you, Jedi. Glad to know I have such fine company today." She winks at him playfully "But we got a criminal to catch though, so I suppose niceties will need to wait a bit"

As soon as he had muttered to himself about his would be companion he heard a voice replying to his thinking aloud. Indeed the person was on time but turning around to face them Caelum was caught a bit off guard, firstly he for some reason expected some armor wearing gunslinger brutish type but instead he was met with a strikingly beautiful Zeltron female. Secondly it was her almost immediate flirtatious greeting that had surprised the Jedi a bit.

''Oh-wow. Umm.. Yea Caelum Skylar.'' He said, starting a sentence a bit clumsy but composing him self somewhat by the end and finishing with a bright smile.
''Sorry for that hahah for some dumb reason I expected someone different when they said I'd be meeting with a Sector Ranger. Don't get me wrong, not that I'm complaining.'' Caelum explained humorously as he followed it with a slight laugh. He wore a black tight turtleneck with only light armor plating on his shoulders, chest and back and a belt that held his lightsaber quite visible to anyone around him. Perhaps not feeling the need to hide his Jedi identity for this particular mission and planet.

''But yeah, like you said there's a mission at hand here.'' he said taking his datapad out and going through what information he had. ''Gendar fled your fellow Sector Rangers b lining it straight to Telerath which lead them to believe he has some possible partners here since this place is known to act as a minor criminal hub. Now I'm not quite sure what to expect here Elara but looking at this guy's criminal history I don't think he'll be coming without a fight.''

Putting the datapad in his back pocket he faced Elara once again ''So what's the proposed plan of action here ? We hit a nearby cantina or some other shady joint and see if we can get some info covertly ? I doubt many of the drunken scum here wouldn't succumb to your charms even if they were as sober as ever.'' said the Jedi with a smile, clearly trying to establish some sort of a familiar connection between the two.

Elara grins at the Jedi's reaction. It amused her that it looked like he wasn't expecting someone like her. She adjusts her vest and as the Jedi summarised the information they have she listens nodding.

"I doubt many of the drunken scum here wouldn't succumb to your charms even if they were as sober as ever "

Elara chuckles softly. This Jedi definitely knows how to play that game, she thinks.

"You'd be right about that" She says, with her usual confidence "We can always try and see if there are any former or current associates that have beef with him , maybe we can turn them against him so we'd have extra back up. We definiely need to be cautious and not go in guns blazing..Believe me, that's a lesson learnt..."

Elara turns serious for a moment, thinking at her last mission, in which she did just that. It wasn't pretty and she didn't want a repeat. Elara looks over at the jedi again.

"Hmm. i don't know how much they'd talk to a jedi either....So maybe I can do the talking while you skulk around so they don't see you? Bit risky on my part, but it'll be ok, if things get ugly you can jump in?"

''Aww man, but I love going in guns blazing.'' Caelum said in an obviously humorous manner mimicking something a child would say as he shot a smile towards his companion. From her words Elara and her relaxed demeanor Elara seemed to have some experience with missions like this. Of course she would, she was a Sector Ranger after all Caelum thought.

Stroking his chin as he went over Elara's suggestion in his head while they walked side by side he couldn't thing of any flaws in the girl's current plan considering how little they had to work with here. ''Yea.. I guess you're right, this lightsaber kinda blatantly screams 'Jedi' doesn't it. Although in my defense these types of scum kinda tend to pick up on that even when I'm not flailing my sword around, guess it's something about my posture and overall 'aura'. '' the young Jedi jokingly said ''That or you know.. just the general paranoia of criminals.''

The talkative pair had quickly neared one of the cantinas located in a close vicinity of their designated meeting place. ''Wanna try this one ? You go in, do your magic and I stay and sulk around here on the outside.'' the Jedi reaffirmed Elara's plan.

''Aww man, but I love going in guns blazing.''

Elara giggles at that. She also couldn't help but chuckle at the idea of him flailing his sword around. He was funny. She can tell they will get along fabulously. As the Jedi basically reiterated her plan.

"Well, I think if you're flailing your sword around you might need more training.." She teases, smirking. She then nods and agrees as Caelum reaffirms her plan.

"Excellent. It's decided. Le'ts go find us some baddies " Elara sees gleefully, while she opens her vest so her top crop is visible. She thinks those scum would be been easier to beguile and ..convince if she showed off a little at least. She takes out her datapad to check the reported regular hang out of the target. Once figured it out, she puts back her datapad on her side and grins. With a quick flick of her hand, she pushes her hair behind her head, then turns on her heels and starts walking down the street with all the confidence of a Zeltron, swaying her hips this way and that way. She is assuming the Jedi would follow at least for now. She puts on an enigmatic smile as a few onlookers turn their heads. Nothing new, and so far that's all it was for the moment, she was used to getting some attention.

A few minutes down the street, the cantina was easy to spot. Dodgy people standing outside, whispering, probably discussing deals, and what could pass for a bouncer, a rather tall Kadas'sa'Nikto , standing outside with his arms cross.

She pauses a little away, and stands on a side street.

"Well that looks promising. This is the kind of place I'd imagine our Devaronian would hang out...No Devaronians out here but that would be too easy. Maybe I'll go in and you can wait a while before coming in yourself. Here..." She gives him the details of her commlink.

"Give me your details so I can call you if needed."

He couldn't help but let out a loud 'HaH' at the beautiful Zeltron's comment about his sword flailing. So far the two seem to have getting along pretty well. They both seemed to have quite extrovert and fun loving personalities that bounced off eachother quite well.

Caelum watched as Elara first made sure to open up her vest more letting out an awkward 'cough' at the motion and then proceed to walk towards the cantina with striking smolder and confidence. Caelum followed the girl making sure to try and not be enthralled by the Zeltron's swaying figure and instead looking around himself, squinting as if he was looking for something in the distance which to a third party observer could look pretty comical and even a tad bit endearing. Taking a stop at side street near the cantina the two exchange commlink details and codes. ''Yea judging by that dude's mug over there we're bound to find some trouble in there. Ya sure you got this ?'' Caelum asked the Zeltron, though the first sentence was delivered with a hint of playful humor the question seemed more sincere.

''In any case I'll be sulking around here, just give me a signal if things start to go haywire. Maybe something inconspicuous.. hmmm... I don't know, like ''orange! '' he grimaced at his own lame choice of 'code word' and continued with a sigh ''Or just scream 'Help. Shooting at me. Bout to die.''
