The Castle Moon Saga

The Castle Moon of Leth has circulated into legend a millennia ago, believed to be a myth similar to nryghast or The Scientist Who Dreams Of Science. However, it was no fiction. Centuries ago, a MantiCorp executive began construction of a bountiful castle on the moon of the gas giant Leth. Alas, the master CPU "Archetype" went rogue and killed all the colonist, cannibalizing the ship for construction materials. As the millennium reaches peak, the moon-wide castle is complete, and Archetype seeks to construct on new planets. Unfortunately, flight eludes the technological aberration, schematics for starships not in its databanks. However, it did have the capability to construct a communications relay, constructed on the massive Mezzanine Mesa. It sent out a simple message.

"Save us."

The broadcasting length was not far, but it managed to reach as far as Ryloth. The first to respond to the message was a Piseas-class attack corvette called the Accord Dawn stolen from the Accord by the Mandalorians years ago during the Battle of the Void. The Mandalorian ship captained by Protector Kalii Wren had been patrolling Ryloth when the message was received. Despite Te'Veen H'Ful's protests, believing it to be a trap, Kalii ordered the Accord Dawn to investigate, leading to the ship to arrive at the gas giant Leth and its castle moon. Landing in the Cloister of Leggodt, they found themselves greeted by a mechanical envoy. Kalii greeted the envoy, accompanied by her loyal comrades Te'Veen H'Ful and Sh'ehn Priest. Combat instincts alive, the trio realized the ambush and engaged the envoy, destroying it. When a second wave of MantiCorp droids arrived, the captain, Te'Veen, and Sh'ehn were separated from the ship as the pilot Dav Wren led the crew in fortifying their position, forced to retreat. A battle overhead heralded the possibility of bringing back their own reinforcements.

The battle was a result of who received the message first, though did not respond first. The Mudjumper Armed Dropship Outlander was owned by Jedi Knight Roro Saleiyas. Saleiyas and fellow Knight Al-Ric Fen had been on Naos performing a training exercise with Xenefious Krandar and a couple other initiates. When the Archetype's message reached the Outlander, Al-Ric sought to answer the distress call, to help where the Jedi could. Unbeknownst to them, their training exercise had not gone unnoticed, and were being trailed by Ogre-class Light Carrier Nisara acting on behalf of the inquisition, headed by Saevius. Sith Saladin D'vant and Kaelis Mar'Kov had been tasked with apprehending the Jedi on Naos, but the Outlander disembarked before Saevius' operatives could reach the port. Now traveling in the space, the Ogre pursues its mortal enemy. The Outlander exited hyperspace and deciphered the coordinates for the Cloister of Leggodt when an Ogre apparated behind them. Slow as it was, the Mudjumper was no match for the Ogre. In one last ditch effort, the Jedi Knights and their wards jettisoned from escape pods as Al-Ric's astromech droid M1-R7 flew the ship straight into the bridge of the Nisara. Imperial crew fled the ship in escape pods, the Sith using the Force and ingenuity to dampen the crash as the light carrier landed in the Creator's Cusp, near the escape pod containing Al-Rick, Saleiyas, and Xenefious.

The Creator's Cusp was soon swarmed by MantiCorp droids, programming compelling them to cannibalize the wreckage for construction. The Imperial survivors were found by Te'Veen and rendezvoused with Kalii and her batch of located survivors, the Jedi. Though the reunion was tense, Xenefious and Kalii stressed cooperation was key to escaping the nightmare moon alive. Bitterly, the mortal enemies agreed to a temporary truce. The Mandalorians revealed how their ship was trapped in the cloister, though could serve as a means of escape, though repairs would be needed. Xenefious, a product of Bandomeer's industrial manufacturing populace, salvaged what parts were needed from the Nisara. He and Kalii planned to return to the corvette and make sure repairs would finish; to make sure the imperials were not left behind, Saevius ordered Saladin and an imperial squad to accompany them "for safety".

The rest of the group began to make way to the Mezzanine Mesa. The source of the Archetype's signal was housed at the canyon and needed to be neutralized before more ships could be lured to the Archetype's trap. During the journey, a Mandalorian named Sh'ehn Priest who had been scouting the southern moor reported in about a massive fortress which scans revealed to house some sort of nerve center for the MantiCorp droids. However, security was reported to be tight, and infiltration difficult. Knowing the fortress, the Dowager's Demesne, needed to be dealt with, the most skilled in stealth broke off to rendezvous with Sh'ehn: Kaelis Mar'Kov and Al-Ric Fen. Losing a Jedi and a Sith, Saevius' band alongside Te'Veen H'Ful and Roro Saleiyas continued on, fighting through droids as they came. The journey cost several of Saevius' crew, with only a handful left once the communications relay entered view. However, they soon realized something else bled the horizon. Near the communications relay was a behemoth Electric Caliph. The warriors knew that the fight would not be easily won, and suspected the caliph was not the only danager in the area.

The Castle Moon threads are self-sufficient. What that means is there is no outside NPCer, unless it becomes warranted. Instead, thread-goers are expected to manage the NPC elements themselves, trying to keep the danger going along with the story. Pitting NPCs against each other is encouraged to keep things moving, but should not be abused. Most importantly, have fun!

Four. That was how many soldiers Saevius still had at his disposal. Four soldiers out of over twenty that survived the crash and regrouped with the Inquisitor. These... droids they continuously encountered had proven to be more than just a simple menace to him and his men. Not to mention the presence of the other two. One of them, a Mandalorian who had seemed to be in desperate need for a shower, and the other a Jedi who seemed more fitting as a predator of the night. The Sith Inquisitor clenched his fists as he thought about the predicament they all now faced. If this were any other situation, the Mandalorian would be long dead (or otherwise incapacitated for interrogation and indoctrination by order of the Grand Inquisitor) and the Jedi would soon follow. And yet they were forced to cooperate with each other.

Yet, the need to survive and make it out of this mess preceded all other agendas or mission parameters, for now at least. At the moment, they knew next to nothing about what they were facing aside from their enemies being mechanized beings. Initial summations indicated they were some hivemind or otherwise controlled by a central intelligence, which necessitated their pilgrimage to the communications array they neared ever closer. As much as the Sith detested it, the harsh reality that he had to cooperate with the Mandalorian and Jedi grew all the more apparent. He closed his eyes and slicked his hair back with his black letharis gloves, soon turning to the pair. He said nothing as his eyes appraised them both, sizing the pair up now that they had a brief respite from the as of yet relentless onslaught of the droid menace.

He'd tried to warn them. Te'Veen had told them over and over again that they shouldn't have investigated the signals. Not without backup anyways. But his comrades had insisted on landing on forsaken moon, and look where it had gotten them?! Of course no one listens to the new-blood. Now here he was, stuck working with some damned Sith! Te'Veen didn't really mind the Jedi, but the Sith was practically intolerable. Time and time again, Te'Veen caught himself thinking about how easy it'd be to just burn a hole in the Inquisitor's back. Or perhaps just sit back and watch him and his ally's eventually get overrun by the endless assault of the droids?

Either way, Te'Veen smart enough to realize he needed the Sith. He'd fought their kind before. They were nothing like the Jedi. Sith were cruel and ferocious, with an almost savage lust for power. Whereas the Jedi were polar opposites. Te'Veen didn't really understand the force, but he was sure that if the Jedi fought like the Sith, the empire would've never stood a chance.

"You'd better find something else to look at before I burn a hole through your skull, Sith." Te'Veen threatened, as the Inquisitor analyzed himself and the Jedi. Te'Veen didn't trust the Sith in the slightest. So having the man stare him down definitely put him on edge.

Roro looked at the two momentarily, thinking to himself how even in a situation like this, they STILL couldn't get along.
He looked off into the distance. Observing a flurry of movement that would eventually arrive to their location. Roro scanned the area, looking for points that might offer some sort of advantage.
There were several areas that might prove easy to defend, with many large boulders and rocks laying around.

Might be a good idea to try and set up some kind of defense. We could move these rocks around to creat a sort of perimeter and funnel them. That way we minimize the amount of fronts we have to defend by allowing them to come only from one direction...

Saevius merely grinned at the Mandalorian. So confident in his own martial prowess, despite the fact they all needed each other. Surely the Mandalorian knew how daft and ridiculous such a threat was given the situation. It would be quite a shame to kill such an eager warrior, yet so gratifying to watch as the life ebbed from his eyes whilst Saevius' lightsaber gutted him clean through. "Tempting, to be sure." Saevius quipped. He took in a very greedy and deliberate breath of the otherwise fresh air that surrounded them. "Let's set a date for another time though. I would so love to catch you alone."

The Sith stared into Te'Veen's eyes for a moment too long before the situation grew rather awkward - his tone carrying a very disconcerting cadence. That is when the Jedi interrupted them, although likely for the better. "It may even be more prudent, Jedi, if we lay some traps to prevent them from following us as we proceed to the communications relay." The Inquisitor's gaze shifted to Roro, his dignified accent salting his otherwise charged words. "I'm sure you would rather die in a blaze of glory fighting the endless horde of droids, but I for one want to get off this planet - alive and intact."

At that, the Inquisitor looked around as well, and motioned to his men: "Bring forward some explosives and rig them here, here, and here." He pointed at several boulders which formed natural choke points, after which his men went about setting the charges. It took but a few moments, with Saevius soon thereafter turning to the pair once again. "We had better get moving. It's growing rather quiet."

Too Quiet.

Te'Veen watched as the Sith appointed his followers to set the explosives for the trap. As far as he was concerned, it was a useless endeavor. "You're wasting time and resources. We should just keep moving. Even if your traps work, it won't even put a dent in the onslaught this place has to offer. We should save the explosives until we really need them!" Te'Veen's protests seemed to be a waste of his breath. Saevius didn't really seem like the type of person that'd change his mind.

When the man suggested that they get moving, he couldn't help but agree.
" You and the Jedi should take point. Your sabers aren't much good if your hiding behind myself and your peons." Te'Veen spat. Not only did it seem like the best course of action, but Te'Veen liked the idea of being able to shoot the Sith and the Jedi in the back if they got any stupid ideas...
