The glow of the cage around her was driving her mad, tinting her otherwise Jedi looking Inquisition Armor an eerie red. A grunt escaped her pale lips as she chewed at her bottom one, tugging at her braided red hair in annoyance. No matter what she had done to the shield nothing seemed to phase it. If she couldn't figure out how to get out of this trap, it was a real possibly that she'd die here. Not that her master would care enough to be disappointed in her, but she didn't want to feel as if she'd died shamefully.

The console she had been investigating triggered the trap. Without so much as a beep, it erected a red shield around her and the console then locked her out of any accessing anything else. There was another console nearby but she had no way to access it and no partner for this mission to help her out. Part of her wanted to chop up the console with her lightsaber out of anger but she suspected that would do no good; it would possibly trigger a second trap that was more deadly than this one.

The worst part was the Jedi she'd been sent after was probably still in this old temple, ripe for the picking. But with every minute that ticked by the chance of that lessoned. Though she wasn't entirely sure if he was laying low here for awhile or waiting for a pick up. If it was the latter, the group could possibly stumble upon her here. The thought only made her angrier at herself, causing her to ball up her fists and slam them on the blasted console. "Why am I such an idiot?!"

"You know, sometimes I wonder why I'm so nice and always volunteer to go on stupid missions like this!" Jace muttered to himself as he climbed up a big stone block. "Oh? There's a Jedi alone near an ancient abandoned temple of ours and he needs some help? Sure! I'll go!" Now he was more like grumbling, truthfully, but it wasn't without reason. "Maybe we should have told the fool not to have drawn the Sith's bloody attention so damn well and he wouldn't be in this problem. If people would stop acting like fools and just use their brains for once, we could avoid half of the issues we already have."

There was a sigh as he finished venting to the air beside him. Jace Tokani was not happy right now, and he had no one to blame but himself, and his sometimes far too altruistic nature. Perhaps that is what he gets for becoming bored so easily and then seeking out things to do to become more involved in the Order's business. At the very least, this got him away from Jedha, and some of the more narrow-minded and condescending members of the Jedi Order who didn't like it when he suggested that the best way to save a people was to completely dispose of the antagonisers so that there would no longer be a threat of reprisal.

Please, Force, let's just hope this one is easy for me to catch, Jace thought to himself as he hauled himself up onto the last massive stone block which formed part of the temple's ruin stairway facade. Taking a deep breath, Jace focused himself before reaching out in the Force. Wherever the Jedi was hiding he was far too clever for Jace to find by simply trying to sense him in the Force. But there was something else, a presence strong in the Force. It didn't quite feel like a Jedi, but it didn't feel like a Sith or an Exile. It just felt like a presence potent in the ability to gain and control the Force. The presence was just up ahead, so Jace figured he'd go take a look.

A little ways up the corridor, Jace found there to be a faint red glow. The closer he got the more apparent it became that there was something in the middle of that red glow. Once he was close enough to make it out, he could tell it appeared to a human female. "You know, I didn't think there was anyone else here. Are you with the Order, looking for that one Jedi, too?" The Jedi Knight inquired for a moment, his hands coming to rest at his hips as he watched. With a sigh, he shook his head and moved over to the computer consoles. "Let's see if we can turn this thing off... you have any suggestions? Maybe where to start looking for whomever he is."

When she sensed another being coming closer panic crept into every limb on her body—begging her to run or fight—but running was impossible and getting out her lightsaber probably was the worst thing she could do in this situation. What would she do with it? Wave it around in attempt to scare him off?

As the steps closed in and a figure appeared around the corner, she tensed up further... but something unexpected happened; he mistook her for a Jedi. In fact, he went straight to a console to try to help her. At first Ruelle only blinked at his question, trying to fully process the situation. It took a few seconds but once she did process it she let out a long sigh of relief. It seemed she had held a breath in... now she needed to try to play along. At least for a little while.

"No... not exactly," the young Sith said in a low hiss, stepping closer to the edge of the shield to stare at the man and measure him up. She could feel his connection to the Force; it rivaled that of her own so she needed to be careful. "I know Davis personally. I'm trying to find him before anyone else does." It wasn't a lie and hopefully dropping the Jedi's name would soothe any doubts of that. She needed to be careful not to lie too. It was possible this Jedi could sense them which could blow her cover before he raised the shield.

She looked at the door for a second before back at him. It was probably better if she ditched him after he raised the shield. And ditch him as fast as possible. There was no reason for her to kill him. Her only target was Davis. Plus, if he did tag along with her the whole time she might end up fighting two Jedi at once, which wasn't exactly appealing.

Her line of thoughts were interrupted when he asked her another question. Her green eyes snapped back to him and she tipped her head in thought for a second. "Uh, there are probably some shield controls in that console if you know the correct passwords?" She chewed on her bottom lip nervously before continuing, "I... didn't exactly come fully prepared and when I got the password wrong it erected this around me."

There was an eyebrow raise from the Jedi as he glanced over to examine the young girl in the force field. Her answer combined with the way she said it drew his attention. She was quite young, perhaps a teenager even with how bright her sea green eyes looked and how youthful her skin appeared to be. Her fiery mane of copper hair hung around her shoulders, and despite the fact she looked helpless, Jace got the feeling just by looking at her that she wasn't. Perhaps it was the fact that she was wearing armor, or just the way she stood at the edge of the force field staring at him, like one predator to another. She didn't shirk away, or beg for help, she just watched him. That intrigued him. It made him wonder who this girl was, and what she was doing stuck in one of the Temple's defensive measures. Jace could feel the Force flowing with in her, for her age she was certainly strong in it, perhaps not the strongest he'd met, but she could have been a great Jedi Knight.

"Hmm..." Jace hummed to himself as he turned away; he wasn't worried about her attacking him, she was in a force field after all, and likely wouldn't be getting out until he released her. She continued speaking after a few silent moments of observation by saying that she knew Davis, the Jedi he was there to recover, claiming that she knew him personally. "I see..." He replied as he examined the console in front of him.

Seeing how much older these computers were, Jace decided to pose his question to this female, trying to gauge her a little better. When she responded, she admitted to not knowing the passwords and that is why she was trapped there. It seemed like the truth, and knowing how these systems generally operated, seemed to line up with what he could see. Typing in a command, he accessed the main control root of the computer, "These computers had pass-codes which went out of service years ago, probably before the Siege of Tython judging by how old and decrepit everything here is. Luckily, I know how to get around that in this case."

Jace went quite for a moment as he began the process of giving himself administrator privileges for the computer, using his own understanding of the Jedi code and its principles; which was all the computer needed in order to allow a new user to access it. "So, how do you know... Davis was it? Force I can't believe someone named their kid that, it's like naming them Jon, don't you think? It's just so... weird." He chuckled as he glanced over his shoulder at the girl. "Please don't name your kids either of those things when you have them. Anyways, I don't think you're a Jedi otherwise you would have been able to beat this computer here. So where did you get that armor from? Looks... sorta Jedi-ish, anyhow. What were you, an apprentice... hopeful? Or just lucky enough to find some sweet armor laying around here?"

As he answered the last question of the diagnostic, there was a series of clicks and beeps from the computer before the screen turned green and he had user access. Opening up the root menu, he found the defensive security measures and deactivated the local ones, causing the red shimmering force field to slowly dissipate just as he turned around to view the young woman he had just released. "There, now you can walk around again."

Ruelle raised an eyebrow at the Jedi's comments and questions, though she couldn't help but smile a bit too. A smile she tried to hide beneath one of her pale hands. Truth be told, it had been ages since she'd heard a joke. No one she hung around had a humor exactly and she'd been busy training under the Eternal.

Though she still needed to focus on the questions. "How I know Davis is none of your business," she answered seemly frankly—as if annoyed at the question—but truthfully it was another way to get around lying. The next question he had asked was a little bit tricky to answer. It seemed that she had got caught simply because she wasn't familiar with the ways of the Jedi. But it wasn't surprising to her; she really knew very little about their order despite being trained all her life to kill them. And really, she didn't see them as bad, or something needed to be culled from the galaxy like many of her peers. They were simply targets because she was told they were targets.

So... she tried to be extra careful with her next words. If she was a bit more open, it would possibly help sell that she wasn't anyone to worry about. Turning her head to the side slightly so that her eyes did not lock with his, she admitted, "My father gave me this armor. I was trained by him outside of any orders influence...so not exactly in the most traditional way." Ruelle fidgeted with her hands somewhat, weaving her fingers between one another while still avoiding eye contact. This was as truthful as she had been in awhile, but her past was a tool to be used and she needed to get over any lingering pain from it. "I didn't even understand what I was up until a few years ago when he passed and I began to wander."

As the cage came down from around her she felt a sense of relief wash over her. Now that she was free she didn't have to answer anymore questions. "But that's also none of your business." Ruelle said, turning on her heels and speed walking towards the door. "Thanks for the help but I wont be needing anymore. I'll find Davis on my own." With a flippant wave in the air, whether the Jedi was following or not, she'd suddenly jolt to the side as she passed the doors thresshold—sprinting as fast as she could down the hallway. If he didn't manage to stop her, she'd turn down the next hallway and aim to get into a room she assumed was the old cafeteria. It had multiple entrances and exits that she could try to lose the Jedi in.

"Huh, alright then..." Jace muttered to himself at the girl's insistence to not talk about how she knew the Jedi he was their to collect. That's a might bit rude, maybe she doesn't get out too much... he thought to himself as he glanced at the redhead. It was hard for him to get a read on her; she was being distant and obtuse, though whether that was because she was doing in intentionally, or because it was some anti-social disorder he couldn't quite tell.

Listening to the girl as she explained that her father gave her the armor she was wearing and that he trained her himself outside of the Order's, any orders regimens or guidelines did illuminate a few things to him. Perhaps she didn't get out too much if she was home-schooled, and it was entirely possible her social skills suffered for it. "You must have an interesting outlook on things then, if you received your training independent of the Jedi or some other organization." Jace commented back as he worked, thinking over what it must have been like to not know what you were or what these powers you had were until you were much older.

As soon as energy cage came down, he turned around to face the girl, gathering the Force inside of him as he was unsure who this girl really was. He wasn't going to take any chances now that she was free to move and potentially attack him. Surprisingly, she simply gave him another line about it not being his business, thanking him but telling him she had it from there. Jace snorted and rolled his eyes as she began to sprint away down the next corridor. "Yeah, that's gonna be a problem," the Jedi remarked, mostly to himself as he figured the girl couldn't hear him. Glancing back at the console, he thought about activating another ray field to trap her, or closing some of the security blast doors or force fields, but he was curious to see where this would go.

"You know, I'm afraid I can't let you find him on your own," he called out to her. Stepping around to the corridor, Jace could see the girl halfway down the hallway when he reached out with the Force and slammed a telekinetic wall of energy right into her legs just below the knees. If she was fast enough, she'd be able to jump it, or she'd take a tumble into the ground. Either way, after that, Jace would use the Force to attempt to pull her right ankle into the air where she'd be stuck or dangle awkwardly if she couldn't resist it. Whether or not she was caught in Jace's Force trap, or managed to escape and keep running he'd continue speaking to her, loudly if needed so she could hear, "I don't really know you, and it's my mission to retrieve little Davis here. Plus, you've shown you're more than a little susceptible to the Temple's defences, so it'd be irresponsible of me to allow you to wander around by yourself! You might get stuck in a garbage chute!"
