The Imperial Legions

Neither strength alone, nor will alone.

2vtytq9.png

It has been over a thousand years since the Galactic Empire rose to power from the obsolete shell of the Old Republic. For a thousand years the Empire has strived and continued to live on, even with countless rebellions and betrayals trying to cease its progress. Through much turmoil the strong have survived. This was no easy feat however. It was accomplished not with strength alone, but not with will alone either. Through brilliant minds such as Grand Admiral Thrawn and Pellaeon has the Imperial strength been guided onto the right path and been allowed to prosper.

It has been far too many years since the great Empire has seen those brilliant men however. These long years have decayed the Imperial house. It has weakened and been forced to be complacant. It was sold out to be the silent neighbor to the usurping rebels now called the Galactic Alliance. And at the peak of these desperate times they turned to those they once called enemies and became content with the new role of being their master's dog.

There are still those with pride in the Empire though. They're rich with its history and know what it truly means to be an Imperial. They're not prepared to bow down to a foreign power and they have too much pride to switch sides and join the alliance of rebels that usurped the power from the Empire to begin with.

Led by Admiral Casval Bright - former Imperial Knight - a small group of those still loyal to the true ideals of the Empire broke away from the Sith and forged their own faction of power to combat these dark lords along with the many other evils hiding in the galaxy.

Military

Military

Composed of soldiers once belonging to the Galactic Empire along with newer recruits wanting to join in the fight against the Sith, the forces of the Imperial Legions consist of only the well trained and the strong of heart. Although small in number - ranging just above one thousand men - the troops have been subject to the best training that the galaxy has to offer. Subject to the harsh environment of Kamino, they are put through the rigorous Stormtrooper training and taught to use most weapons that could be found on the battlefield along with the utmost field medicine basics. Should they pass they are taught by the Followers of Palawa in martial arts and how to combat Sith and Jedi alike and attend regular classes by the few Imperial Knights within the Legion's ranks.

Staying true to the Empire's symbolism, every soldier is suited in Stormtrooper armor; however that is mostly where the infantry's Imperial equipment comes to an end. They're armed with the Legions's own T-98 custom blaster rifles, adjustable in nearly every aspect to be able to fit any need on the battlefield. The Shocktroopers and battlefield medics alike however, are still equiped with standard Imperial weapons.

Although there aren't enough ships for the amount of personnel in the Legions's forces, each man and woman alike is required to know how to operate and fly every ship in the growing flotilla from the Star Fighters to the Freighters to the Corvettes. By the end of each standard month, every soldier and fighter pilot alike are required to have clocked a certain amount of flight hours, else they receive disciplinary punishment and assigned a tremendous amount of extra cleaning duty.

Holding partnerships with two seperate shipbuilding corporations, the Imperial Legions's navy is always steadily growing, becoming more of the fighting force they need to secure and enforce peace in the galaxy.

Locations

Locations

The Imperial Legions's HQ is at the former capitol city of Tipoca on Kamino. Out of the way and with a harsh environment, the planet proved to be the ideal location to hide their base and train their armies. The understanding with the natives is rough and at often times strained to dangerous extents, though no battles have broken out just yet. The Kaminoans are hospitable enough, but they have learned not to trust the Imperials in the past and know that these new ones seek their cloning technology to once more raise an army of clones.

Resources

Resources

Refusing to neglect their duties as Imperial soldiers, the Legions hammer down on pirates and smugglers, often taking their cargo and leaving. It's through this and the small conflicts they enter in that provide the bulk of their resources. Along with this the leader - Admiral Bright - uses his family's trade connections to bring in fresh weaponry and supplies to the troops. Ultimately though, their resources and technology is very finite. It's their primary enemy and one they are struggling to overcome.

I do believe this is semi redundant due to the fact that the admins will have a faction of imperial rebels under the galactic alliance.

Yes, who fight under the Galactic Alliance. This faction has no alliances or ties connecting it with the GA whatsoever. Like the Mandalorians and the Imperial Knights, they blame the Galactic Alliance for the state the galaxy's in. If stealing supplies from the Galactic Alliance or even opposing them in a battle will strengthen the Legions or help them towards their goal, they will be more than willing to do so. This faction can be compared to one of the warlord led factions of the Imperial Remnants after the fall of the Empire. That is what separates them from the subfaction of the Imperial Rebels.

Although I don’t want to give too much away, as the faction leaders are currently planning for this battle to take place sometime in the near future, it involves a group of Imperials who will become the Imperial Rebels officially breaking away from the Empire to join the Alliance, sparking the war that will put the combined forces of the Galactic Alliance and the New Jedi Order against the Empire. The Mandalorians and the Chiss will also have a battle around the same time, which the Imperial Knights might participate in.

fair enough. It just seems extremely redundant, ineffecient and hazardous to your factions health to oppose the GA

I was just about to bring up the fact that you would be rebels... of rebels.

We of course don't plan on waging open war with the Galactic Alliance just for the sake of doing it. With a flotilla as small as ours, we don't plan on making enemies where they aren't necessary. The only situation where we would assault the GA is where we could be benefited and wouldn't suffer very many - if any - losses.

If you'd like to discuss things further I ask that we move it to private messages. I don't want to clutter the faction page and plan on asking for these posts to removed at one of the admin's convenience.

I usually don't nitpick over tech like this, but as a resistance group to the Sith rule, how are you managing to hold up "top-of-the-line" equipment? How are you getting the funds for your operations?

It doesn't really hold much on accepting/denying the faction, but I find it incredulous to have rigorous training for a group whose purpose is to fight the Sith despite inferior numbers. Such training would thin out the already-strained recruitment pool since it would only allow the best-of-the-best to be able to survive the training. Just my two cents on that (again, has no bearing on me accepting/denying the faction).

I'm assuming they steal their equipment from the Imps.

The weaponry was described as top of the line, but in the same sentence it's stated that it's standard Imperial equipment. It's not the best of the best, but regular military issue. Apologies if there was any confusion on that.

The funds are admittedly low, as stated in the Resources section of the faction. We by no means are prosperous, but are just maintaining current size. Getting more resources was very much so intended to be a factor to be solved in the role-play. The funds we do get are from ambushing Imperial transports and seizing the contents aboard pirate and smuggler ships, and from an established trading business that is personally sponsoring the faction.

The training is rough, but not nearly as rough as it may seem. The entire faction is not a large group of elitists; however there are definitely portions of it that are. It is intended for the members to be able to specialize in not just one area, but multiple. That's not always the case however. Tanis Avalon for example is excellent with a rifle, but virtually worthless as a medic. As the faction grows I plan on opening up different units that will be based on skill. One might be for the best-of-the-best as another might be for the average joe with a rifle. In answer to your concerns, we don't turn away any and only submit our recruits to what they're able to survive. I'll expand on the military section in more detail later on this weekend.

I'll [Lavi Stamp of Approval] this, but I also suggest trying to come up with something that allows it to stand out better against the Imperial Knights for the sake of longevity.

The 'Echo', your assassin-class corvette, is way too heavily armed. 12 dual turbolaser cannons is cruiser-grade armament.

This. You didn't have those ship schematics when I approved this.

3rd party info:

Standard Assassin-class Corvette armament:

6 dual turbolasers
1 proton torpedo launcher
2 quad laser cannons

My guess is that he confused the dual turbolasers with single turbolasers, hence the doubling of the main guns.

EDIT: My mistake, he actually doubled the whole armament.

And sorry for the double post, but as it's not stock, the Tartan you have acquired from me carries 4 5-pulse anti-fighter beams instead of the standard armament.

Apologies. Was doing the ship schematics while playing COD. Must have just gotten temporarily confused and thought the six turrets were the stock for civilian use. Too bad it was a corvette employed only by the military and would already have armaments suited for military use. lol. Will update tomorrow night.
