"Personally, I can't see the Hutts making us very rich. Given that they are essentially a bigger and more powerful version of us, their goal is to become rich, they would only pay us what they felt was necessary to make them more money. And by working with them, we would attract more undue attention to ourselves as the hutts would probably demand that we do things that are good for their sakes rather than our sakes." Pekt said.

Naturally, he didn't want much attention from either the Republic or the Hutts as they could endanger his father and inheritance if they knew who he was. And he saw little reason to ally with bigger gangsters who could treat the Sontebren as a disposable tool.

"If we work with the hutts, we better get a ass load of more money. I ain't splitting what I get know with some gross slug who thinks he's a god." She stood up to voice herself. She said her words with a bit of anger, she needed the money for herself and her family.

"There is no way to become rich with the Hutts as our exclusive source of income. I will offer to work on a contract-by-contract basis with the Hutts for a cheaper price, as long as they offer protection. I doubt they will offer us any real power, they are the Hutts after all. Now, how we deal with them isn't an issue after I know what we want. Let's move on."

I don't think we should side with a big faction like the Hutts or Republic. They will ditch us like were nothing. Once their enemy pins us with our backs to the wall, neither group will help us by risking their soldiers. I heard of a smaller group, much like ourselves. They will be nearly as helpful and much more loyal. Plus it will keep us on a low profile with the Hutts and republic.

"If the Hutts abandon us that is good. The only way they'd ever let us go otherwise was with bullets in our backs." Teo snapped at the woman, she obviously didn't know all of the positives of joining with the Hutts.

"I am just putting it out their that their are other, more safe options. I'd take loyalty over power any day, but it's up to the leaders."

"I am aware of that Teo. But I don't want to get involved in any war between the Republic and Hutts. I got a family to think of, nor do I want any one in this crew to get blown up by a giant ship."

The Cathar nodded respectfully to his boss, then turned and listened to the input of the soldiers. He cut into Teo and Adelaide's argument to voice his thoughts.

“Adelaide, and uh… new guy… You both have good points,” Pok said. “But while we won’t be arrogant and end up angering the Hutts like Eris did, I can assure you that me and the boss won’t let ourselves become the slugs’ bitches either. I think they’ll pay good money to have us do jobs for them, because being based in Coruscant, we’re in the perfect position to aid them in achieving whatever wartime goals they might have. Espionage, assassinations, who knows? The only worry I have is that working for the Hutts might attract a lot of serious attention from the Republic if they find out about it. In short: it’s a very risky move to work for the Hutts, but I am almost certain it will be profitable if we pull it off. And I believe we can pull if off."

He drummed his fingers on the table thoughtfully. “Personally, I still say we go through with it. But it’s really up to the boss.” He turned to Blake. “You’ve heard the case for both sides, what’s your verdict boss?”

Azazel remained silent for a while listening to all the others, He had already spoken up and his thoughts of the crew going ahead and contracting with the Hutts was known. His attention slipped to Nakaron Richese, mostily becase he had no clue who the person was when the banter tossed between Teo and Adelaide happened. Underboss Pok stepped in, Azazel's eyes shifted to Blake to see what his decisions would be.

"First of all..." Blake began. "...I want to make clear that working for the Sontrebren Crew is dangerous business. Some of us here don't seem to realize that yet. We are gangsters. Of course I do realize, Adelaide, that your family is important for you. However, you will have to do dangerous tasks for our faction, keep that in mind."

Blake remained silent for the moment, so that Adelaide could think about it. He then continued to speak about the alliance with The Hutts. "As much as I hate the slugs, doing business for them seems like a good opportunity indeed. Teo offered to deal with them. So, Teo, you will be given a mission now. Arrange a meeting with the Hutts, either via a teleconference or you meet them personally, and offer them to reestablish a relationship as our former leader seemed to have screwed up. Tell them we are willing to work as the eyes and ears of The Hutt Empire on Coruscant, meaning we can spy for them and pass on what intelligence we have received. We can act as assassins for them, to kill those they want dead. Of course, we are gangsters, but now I think of it, we can act as spies and assassins. Risky, but hopefully rewarding. As of a reward, we want protection and, of course, money."

"Does any of you have suggestions for any other rewards?"

"You should not ask too much from the Hutts, Blake, that is where he screwed it up!Hutts are greedy, and so you can only expect the protection, and less money... believe me when i say - demanding more results in our death." Torlan tried to warn Blake, - he knew exactly how the Hutts were.

"I was not saying how much money. As long as we get enough money to keep us going, I am satisfied. And I just wanted to let my soldiers think, because that is good for them. However, you are absolutely right, Torlan. We'll be asking these things first, and then when the time comes, we might be able to ask more. Teo, we will speak things through before you embark on your mission. Now, is there any more that any of you want to speak about?"

"Short of us becoming either a major power or securing representation in the Republic, it's hard to see us ever having enough power to get a decent bargain with the Hutts. They'll probably still pay money but I can't see them giving enough to justify the risks that their missions would entail. And for protection, it's hard to see them being able to truly offer it unless the Hutt empire comes to us. On the other hand, being independent, we can focus solely on making money which means we also won't attract too much attention. And with little attention, we will have little need of protection." Pekt said hoping to convince the rest that any alliance with the hutts was an unnecessary endeavor and would make things worse.

"I was wanting us to work on a contract to contract basis. I've said this already. We will be able to keep our current assets, hopefully, and have a good working relationship with the Hutts. But this is not the issue anymore and you need not worry yourselves about it."

Sam remained silent as the meeting continued. At times, she thought the entire crew was brilliant. At others, she idly wondered why she hadn't left the crew as soon as Eris died - some of the suggestions, such as working with the Hutts, made her wonder if some of these people were loony. But the Boss and Underboss, she trusted their judgement. If they thought working for the Hutts was a good idea, well... She wouldn't be a tremendous fan of any relations they had with the slugs, but she would follow orders loyally, just as she had vowed to do while Eris Sontrebren was running things.

The cathar female folded her arms across her chest and surveyed the fellow members of her crew. The only thing on her mind now was who the new capo's would be. Teo seemed like an excellent choice for Capo, as he was very intelligent and experienced.

As for who else to take the role, well, she really wasn't sure. She didn't know any of the crew, aside from the people who had worked in Poknor's crew. But she was sure one of them was an ideal candidate.

But she wasn't going to speak up about the selection of the Capo's, no. It was the job of the Boss and Underboss to pick the capo, not the job of the crew to vote for whoever they liked best.

OOC: New faction thread is up.

IC:

"Poknor and I have come to the conclusion that we both pick a Capo of the crew we used to lead ourselves. I have chosen Torlan as Capo and Poknor has chosen Teo. Congratulations." Blake nodded to the new Capos.

"The crews basically remain the same, except for Torland and Teo now being Capos. Also, as you all have noticed, we have a new member. He introduced himself to me as Pekt. I want you all to give him as much respect as everyone else. Pekt, you will be in Teo's crew."

Blake then looked over to the door. "We shall try to form an alliance with The Hutts. Teo, Poknor and I will speak things through right before we send Teo out on the mission. Meanwhile, I want Torlan and his crew to perform missions for our own faction. Now, unless there is something else important you want to speak about, this meeting is over."

Poknor nodded along as Blake outlined what they had discussed. When the boss came to the end of his speech, the Cathar underboss raised a furry hand to signal he would speak next. Once he had the Crew's attention, he spoke.

"I have received word from two human businessmen who run something called the Phoenix Corporation. They offered an alliance to us - basically, they'll supply us with equipment that men and women of our professional caliber can make good use of. They produce weapons and ships, so of course that's good. But they also have a medical branch, so they could supply us with medicine and cybernetic enhancements for our Crew members. All we have to do in return, is their dirty work. Sabotaging their rivals' facilities or raiding competitors' shipping lines, maybe assassinating rival CEOs. This should be very profitable for us. I've already talked about it with the boss and he likes the sound of it too. I'll hear objections from Capos and Soldiers if there are any, but I'm pretty sure we're gonna go for this. It'll help us expand while we negotiate with the Hutts."

"I'd like to check out what they're providing before we buy it. Strike a deal, but don't finalize until we've had a thorough inspection." Teo liked more formal deals... More so than back room 'friends' deals with no guarantee of quality.

A slight smile formed on his face when the capo's where decided he knew Teo was a shoo-win but Torland. Torland was a great person to have on your side in a fight and azazel respected the man for it. He said nothing on the matter but he was happy, that smile went away moments later regaining his soulless appearance. With all things said and done he just listened to all the chatter about making alliances, not really having any problems with any decision made so long as he got paid in the end. The meeting was done but he wouldn't leave until he knew no one else brought something up.
