Given that they are essentially a bigger and more powerful version of us, their goal is to become rich, they would only pay us what they felt was necessary to make them more money. And by working with them, we would attract more undue attention to ourselves as the hutts would probably demand that we do things that are good for their sakes rather than our sakes." Pekt said.
Naturally, he didn't want much attention from either the Republic or the Hutts as they could endanger his father and inheritance if they knew who he was. And he saw little reason to ally with bigger gangsters who could treat the Sontebren as a disposable tool.
