Imperial Base, Raxus
Nymeria stared at the portrait of the imposing looking Moff hanging from the wall, one of many such portraits of nobles and high ranking officials that adorned the walls. In the corner sat a statue of the very man she was now waiting for, the Emperor of the united Sith Empire, Darth Vrael. And it was an united empire now, for all intents and purposes. Had been ever since Vrael had defeated his cousin in the Kaggath. They just needed to convince some of the more stubborb and dimwitted citizens of the Empire of this new truth.

That was why she was here, to meet the Emperor. She had been sitting on the sidelines for some time now, seeing his crusaders and Darths go about their business to advance the Sith cause. And in some cases, floundering. She had finally seen enough and had decided she could sit by idly no more. It was not the Sith way to sit by and do nothing, they had to take the initiative, she had to take the initiative.

"The rule of the strong," she muttered as she stared at the Moff's portrait, "you would have stood by it, wouldn't you?"

Vrael finally set aside his datapad with a quiet sigh, idly flexing his wrist as he mentally reviewed the last hour or so of effort. Logistics and after battle reports on the numerous tasks the Sith was embarking on across the galaxy. Busy work in the truest sense of the word, but vitally important for the function of the Empire. Finally he had a spare moment, one which would likely be cut short in mere minutes. Before the inevitable crisis intervened however, Vrael could see to the acolyte who had requested a meeting with him. Nymeria was her name, a low ranking Sith who had done little to advance herself or his cause so far. Luckily for her, Vrael wasn't the sort of person to immediately dismiss others simply because of something they hadn't done, and he was willing to offer a chance to impress if he had the time.

Well, he now found himself having the time. Briefly he organized the numerous materials on his desk before standing and heading to the door. Leaving his study with his hands folded behind his back his guards soon fell behind him. Traversing the halls quickly, he was soon standing outside the room the acolyte was waiting in. With a gesture, he motioned for the guards to hang back so that he could enter and talk alone. He hardly needed guards here anyway, a mere formality most of the time. Stiff backed and wearing of mask of polite unhappiness, Vrael entered the room.

He immediately spotted the acolyte in question, a young woman currently examining the room decorations. Vrael cast a glance about him, taking in the statue and portraits. His frown became noticeably more pronounced, an expression of distaste. He preferred a more spartan and pragmatic focus towards his furnishings, not such vain lavishing attempts towards the accomplishments of others. The bust of himself was particularly aggravating, he would have to find just who had deigned to place it there. Composing himself quickly enough, Vrael turned his focus to the reason for his coming, the acolyte. Stepping forward to look her over, he offered a brusque nod as he finally spoke. "Acolyte Nymeria. I trust you have something worthy of my time to discuss?"

Nymeria was still looking at the portrait when she heard the door slide open behind her, turning around to see the Emperor step in. She bowed respectfully at the man once he turned his attention to her, well aware that she was in the presence of one far above her station, a station she didn't know if she could even dream of achieving.

Not intent on wasting his time, she pulled out a holo-projector from within her robes and placed it on a small table that stood near them. Activating it she brought up an image of Corellia, the lush green planet easily recognizable even in the small projection. "I would not request an audience if I wasn't sure it was anything but." She pressed a few buttons to make the holoprojector zoom into the planet, onto the capital city, to the same building that the Jedi had attacked while revealing themselves.

"I have reason to believe that an encryption key that unlocks a backdoor access to the communications network of the Imperial Republics's high command is buried beneath this very same building. With a little tweaking, we could send out a message to every high ranking official within Coruscant's grasp. I have a plan that would allow us to use this key to recruit the Republica's very fleets to our cause." There was of course more to her plan, details on top of details, but she had learned long ago to speak fast and to the point to ensure she had the attention of her audience before going into much detail, specially someone as high up as the Emperor.

“He’s in.”

Raz said quietly, many meters away from the Sith compound. She could hear Vrael’s voice, along with another, thanks to the bug planted in the Vrael statue in the meeting room they were in. Her heart pounded against her chest, and she knew this would be a massive shift in the galaxy. Raz looked over at Leandros standing next to her, inhaling and exhaling softly.

She then pressed the remote detonator in her hands.

For a moment, from their vantage point, there was nothing. However, inside the meeting room, there was a sudden and abrupt explosion as a thermobaric bomb previously planted in that same room combusted. The blast expanded out in a flash, powerful enough to instantly engulf the two occupants in flames and heat enough to sear through flesh and cook them suddenly. Following the explosion, the room would be totally devoid of oxygen as the explosive lit the very air on fire. It would be impossible for anything to survive, the immense and sudden pressure change violently rupturing lungs and collapsing organs combined with the lethal flames and concussive blast. They wouldn’t know what hit them before being completely and utterly annihilated. The explosion would cover several meters beyond the dimensions of the room, smoke dispersing into the halls of the rest of the compound.

From their vantage point, Raz could see a sudden surge of activity. Soldiers were rushing in from all sides and alarms began to blare. She did nothing, staring coldly from a distance as she stood next to Leandros. After a moment, she slowly reached a hand out to grasp his, and he would notice hers was trembling slightly.

Inside the building, once the debris cleared, there would be remnants of what looked like confetti. The charred remains slowly circled the air inside the room. If the people doing sweeps put several of these pieces together, they would form together to reveal the trademark sigil of Clan Solus. They would know exactly who was responsible.

“Long live the Emperor,” Raz said quietly.

Leandros sat perched in their vantage, watching the palace with intense focus. This was the moment they had been waiting for so long. So much planning and preparation had gone into this operation, so much careful thought put into what was about to happen. His focus was singular and fixated on the palace, waiting. Watching.

Raz shook him from his stupor as she announced the arrival of their prey. His face was impassive beneath his helmet, his heart pounding with utter anticipation. Fewer things in his life had given him such anxious excitement, and he doubted few else could match the feeling he felt right now. Leandros looked over at Raz, lingering on her helmet for a moment, then turned back towards the palace. It was time.

She pressed the detonator, and, for a moment, the world sat frozen in time. At first, he thought that their trap had failed, or that there was an issue with the bomb. Shortly after his doubts surfaced, however, a wicked explosion sounded out, audible even from their location. It was beautiful; a simple blast, and he knew that everything within the room would be completely and totally devastated, reduced to little more than charred corpses and scattered limbs.

He didn’t even realize he was holding his breath until after Raz reached out and grabbed his hand. Leandros exhaled quietly, squeezing her hand to steady the trembling. For a moment, he said nothing, then he let out a slow, dark chuckle, lasting no more than a second. It was something cold, uncaring, yet triumphant. A great weight felt lifted from his shoulders as the man who had caused the death of untold millions of his people finally got the vengeance deserved. The gods themselves would weep with joy at this occasion and the spirit of the Manda would rejoice and praise the actions of these two warriors.

”That was for Dan,” he muttered grimly, sighing contentedly.
