To note, there are some arguable spoilers in the video. Minor stuff, but still there.

Would you look at that... I'm already crushing on Kylo.

:11:

In all seriousness though, these look really awesome.

The choice to have a fully CG character - which we've been hearing murmurs about for awhile now - is baffling considering the franchise we're talking about here, especially with the creative team behind the film constantly touting it's use of practical effects shot in-camera, and it's baffling furthermore because they're hiding the face of ****ing Lupita N'yongo who is a gem tbh. Genuinely baffling decision there, but I suppose we'll see how it all turns out.

As for everything else?

Perfect.

Although I think it would have been far more interesting to have Kylo Ren be wearing brown robes perhaps and without a hood, what this franchise needs more of, is to subvert expectations.

My favourite of all the photos is definitely the gathering of all the background characters from Maz Kanata's castle, every single one of them looks incredible and yeah...Star Wars in it's aesthetic (except for maybe the dude with the blue beard but whatever).

One of the commentors on that link summed it up perfectly. The armor isn't unnecessarily feminized, and that's awesome.

It all looks very promising. Though, like Kaeb, I'm concerned about the full cgi character. I'll have to assume it was a necessity somehow seeing as how much they've committed to using practical effects. It is a shame that Lupita won't have any actual face time.

I have no issue with a fully CGI character. I think our minds go towards Jar Jar Binks in Episode I or Yoda/frog ninja in Episode II, but there's also Gollum - who didn't exactly detract from the practical effects of The Lord of the Rings. So I have no issue with that.

Plus, with what I know about that character, she's incredibly important.

I'm just happy to see some alien diversity. It makes no sense in a galaxy full of aliens that the only influential figures just happen to always be human. Bring on the aliens

What do you mean? Admiral Octobar had the important job of stating the obvious back in episode 6.

But this does looks pretty damn cool. Kylo Ren surprised me, I was half expecting some cyborgy skeleton face given the mask.

Mark my words. With these photos, the Kylo Ren fandom of squealing teenagers dressed up like Sith will soon be a thing.

I might be one of them <.<
