I didn't know what they are. Looked on the wiki. And yeah, good riddance.

Not just the Mangos, but the Womangos, and the chilled mangos too?

Couple of questions, if they'll be addressed later sorry for my impatience.
Will tech submissions by players (if any happen) be likely to be treated as more "under the counter" tech and therefore require significant story development to create in character or acquire?
Will there be any allowances or plans within the coming tech system for crafting based characters like a weapons designer for a blaster company, a mad inventor or a jury rigging mechanic who likes to customise their gear?
And additionally, if there is provision for such characters, how would they be allowed (or disallowed) to share tech or tech upgrades that they have designed or built with other PCs? (With the understanding that such activity may be frowned upon like with Nor'baal's question about higher to lower level player tech gifting, if not outright banned).

Okay, so, something I just noticed about the new capital ship restrictions, and how it relates to my plans for the Ossein.
The Ossein are a spacefaring people. Almost exclusively so. They have a combined warrior and merchant culture, so large ships are an important part of their lifestyle. Their "clans" are actually nomadic fleets of such vessels, part fortified trading caravan, part battle fleet. Their ships are often as not "multi-role" vessels, able to transport cargo and passengers, but also to fight.
Ships to the Ossein are precious things, of course; one does not risk a capital ship lightly, even more because large ships are very likely to contain families and other "civilians" in addition to their warrior crews. Ossein culture emphasizes starfighter combat, of course, but they recognize the need for their "homes" to get stuck in with the enemy if fighters alone can't do the job.

Now, obviously the Ossein fleets have been diminished quite a bit even by the era of the new TL, but currently, my idea is that every fleet has an ancestral battle-wagon which functions as its flagship. These ships are old, very, very old, and very, very large; in my current thinking, they would range between a battlecruiser and a dreadnaught ("dreadnought" as the Ossein would call it) in the Anaxes War College System.
Now, these things are enormous and probably quite powerful, but as mentioned, the Ossein would be very reluctant to risk one in battle unless circumstances were extremely dire. Moreover, though they were probably built as dedicated warships, even the newest such vessels are thousands of years old, and the Ossein lifestyle has turned them more into "city ships" where tens of thousands of people live and work, not to mention super-heavy transports for moving cargo.
They would pack a punch, but the Ossein would much rather keep them out of range and let corvettes and starfighters conduct any space battles.

Would something like this be acceptable in the new timeline? Obviously the Ossein would not have weathered the Hundred-Year Darkness much better than most, but while the rest of the Galaxy has abandoned the use of super-heavy capital ships, such vessels to the Ossein are symbols of their fleets, and more importantly, their homes.

Personally, I hope that astromechs are limited to this, and this alone -

I think it would be an interesting spin on the period to have droids kicked back a notch or two.

It's a bit early to get into specific stuff like that. This is something that will likely have to be worked with the tech, lore, and RP admins when the NPC organization is submitted.

Wait a minute correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not a EU timeline expert. Are we still in the the protosaber era? Cause like... if we can only use protosabers and no lightsabers...
