  • The Hutt Cartel. With the galaxy plunged into darkness and disorder, the Supreme Mogul of the Hutt Cartel moved to capitalize on the chaos that the Jedi civil war has caused in the galaxy. Taking advantage of the lack of order, and the Jedi’s stabilizing presence waning with their numbers, the Cartel’s corruption and influence spreads. But greed and disloyalty brew even under the Supreme Mogul’s watchful eye.

Someone go defrost Santoro; it's time to steamroll the galaxy again.

I believe the Paladins of Mortis did that this TL and I don't believe anything has been announced going against that, so I don't see why you couldn't do something similar next TL.

I suppose I am speaking from my own understanding of the system, which I don't know if it is 100% flesh out yet by the admins but as I understand it is possible for a group to form and after enough interaction form something that resembles a faction. You would start with basically zero assets. Honestly, this is going be extremely difficult. Indie factions in their current iteration (where they are allowed to start with assets and what not) generally have a pretty high washout rate due to not always having steady membership streams like the main factions enjoy.

I don't say that to discourage you. By all means, if you have a story you want to tell and can find the buy-in from others why not. I would think in your given scenario you have a much higher chance of making lasting impacts on the overall story by working within the main factions. Disagree with what the exiles stand for? Build up your characters strength and try to get a following to bend the faction to your own will. Qui-Gon is a good example of a Jedi who disagreed largely with the ruling body of the Jedi but remained a large player within the faction.
