THEEXCHANGE
"As is the case with many things in the galaxy, there are two sides to every story. Two sides of the same coin. Two perspectives that are not in and of themselves false, but bear a semblance of truth from a certain point of view. In the eyes of the public, a Senator could be a bastion of freedom and equality, but to those who know him intimately, he has his own agenda intertwined with political cover-ups and government conspiracy. To a random passerby, a man with a beard and tattered clothes is homeless. But to those willing to pay for it, he is an invaluable source of information pertaining to anything from scandals connected to the social elite, to where and when patrols pass by a designated meeting place for a less than legal transaction. Law enforcement officers are guardians of the public, but can so easily be manipulated to be pawns of the minority: the precious and privileged few who have the means to do what they want, when they want, and how they want it done. Some would call the above actions criminal, and they may not be wrong in their interpretation of said actions. Others however, see them for something far more valuable. Services and commodities that result in an equitable Exchange to benefit both parties. That's what the Republic stands for, right? That, my friend, is also what we stand for. Our name should serve as enough of an indication to that effect. Tired of getting nabbed for small time work? Tired of being under-appreciated and under-compensated? Well, if you have the skill-set we are looking for, then that is about to change. Don't get too excited yet. We don't take just anyone into the folds of our organization. After all, that wouldn't really be an equitable Exchange for us now, would it? We provide the resources required to get the job done, and you provide the required skills and mindset to see it through, preferably without too many questions asked. We all make money. Interested? ORGANIZATION
- Don't be stupid. Do your job and do it right the first time. Mistakes happen and we understand that, but careless mistakes can get you killed.
- Don't screw us, and we won't screw you. If you are unsure if something would be considered that, then don't do it anyway. You'll live longer that way.
- Don't ask questions you don't want to know the answer to. As a general rule, you don't want to know the specifics about most jobs you go on. The reason being if you get caught, you don't know enough to violate rule number 2.
- Have respect. Both self respect and respect for those you work with. We wouldn't want to have to teach you a lesson in respect the hard way...

THE PACT
As if the sheer size and magnitude of a galactic criminal underworld was not intimidating enough for law enforcement officials, "The Pact" is a specialized group within The Exchange. Formerly known as a band of pirates and criminals rivaling The Exchange, said entity known as "The Dead Drop Pact," the leadership of both factions met together and had decided to coexist in the interests of growth and unimpeded operations. Many can attest to the fact that being a criminal, one already has enough enemies in the form of law enforcement and vigilante mercenary bands.After some time, the peaceful coexistence of these two entities led to the decision of the Dead Drop Pact formally joining The Exchange, considering the sheer reach of the criminal underworld and influence the latter commands. Their relationship now, although closer and obviously linked together, remains simple. The Exchange provides contacts and access to markets the DDP previously did not have access to, and 'in exchange' the newly branded 'masters of the spacelanes' now known as "The Pact" provide muscle and grit to enforce The Exchange's presence in the outer rim and unaffiliated space, along with protecting spice shipments and shipping lanes that would otherwise be molested by entities such as ADI or the Accord. Interlopers beware...

INTENT
To provide a criminal underworld not as of yet explored. Granted there are other indie factions that promote piracy and such, but this faction is meant to explore the underbelly of society. It will promote interaction with other factions by members being hired/solicited to accomplish illegal activities for said faction, and quietly.Considering this is a criminal organization, a wide variety of characters could be utilized, whether they be scoundrels, all around 'tough guys,' to seedy well-to-dos.
