Mack, newly hailed Boss of the Exchange, stood amongst the officers of the ship on the bridge. A new opportunity had presented itself in the form of Raxus Prime. She had been told through their various contacts of a large amount of spare parts and even a few nearly whole ships that had been recently jettisoned onto the planet. Chances were, some scavenger had already picked through the junk, but the opportunity was there. They dropped out of hyperspace just short of orbit of the planet. It was almost sickening as the junk and metal could be seen from space. She grasped the mic and spoke to the entire crew of the ship, "We have just dropped out of hyperspace near Raxus Prime. Please ready a shuttle for our descent."
She turned to her first officer and spoke, "You have the bridge, be prepared for orbital bombardment if necessary, and more probable to stop any incoming traffic."
After issuing commands she headed down the long hallway to the landing bay. Her trusty vibroblades and blasters in tow, including the rifle she often utilized, she boarded the shuttle. Supposedly another operative would be joining her on the mission, but if the operative didn't show up soon they would have to find their own way on to the planet which could potentially be nasty. She climbed into the co-pilot's seat bypassing the six operatives laden with weapons prepared for whatever they might find on the planet.
She assisted the pilot in pre-flight checks as the other operative boarded. She looked back speaking to the newcomer, "Nice of you to join us, have a seat, we are taking off."
The shuttle lifted upwards on its repulsorlifts and headed out into the blackness of space. The pilot aimed for a somewhat clear spot near the center of the planet. He would drop the team and retreat to a safe distance to allow them to have a quick way to leave should the operation go sour. He reached the location lowering the loading ramp without fully landing. Mack, unclipped her harness and before the others had a chance to stand, she was out the door landing lightly on a rather solid piece of metal, which looked as if it had at one point been a ship.
The most noticeable feature of the planet was the acrid toxic smell of the atmosphere. It was hot and covered as far in each direction as they could see with large piles of metal. She sighed, to find anything on the planet was a stretch. She heard the clunking of the others landing behind her on the metal and turned to them speaking just loud enough for them to hear, "I hope you brought your rebreathers, we may be here a while. Keep your eyes open for wayward droids and scavengers, they don't take kindly to newcomers."
