After a hundred years of silence, the roar of the Sith war machine howled once more, the conflict between the Republic and the Sith Brotherhood in full force. The Republic continues to fight off the advancement of the Sacred Band of Ziost, but the Border Alliance had prepared less for the upcoming war than their adversaries. The dark enemies had deployed listening outposts throughout space, including independent space. One such listening post was located on the neutral world of Talay. The Republic crushed listening posts where found, but the Talay post, known locally as Velti Base, had managed to stay in operation. This was in effort to the fact that the subterfuge operations of the listening post had been only sporadically active in the last couple months ever since the Bounty Hunters Guild had taken out the base commander, Vexton Velti, during the Grand Hunt.

What the Bounty Hunters Guild hadn't calculated was that Velti Base's resident Sith warrior, Xan'w Briggs, had orchestrated the hit on Vexton Velti in order to obtain control over the listening post's assets and use them for her own purposes, to aid a Sith Lord of old. Xan'w in the last week had suddenly increased activity, intercepting multiple communications between the Republic and the Yminis Sector. This spike was caught by Spectre Cell. Spectre Cell investigated the matter and discovered the source on Talay. Joined with shared intelligence from the Bounty Hunters Guild, due to both under contracts with the Republic, the Accord realized that in its territory was a Sith listening post, a cancer that had to be eradicated. The Accord, of which Spectre Cell was a part of, formed a team of specialists to infiltrate the Velti Base and put it out of commission. Though much of the listening post has been abandoned, assets moved by Xan'w to another location, the Dark Warrior herself still resides in the base. The Accord strike team will have to use their wits and their best gear to take out the apostle of the Dark Side to fully neutralize the Brotherhood menace on Talay.

Another dangerous mission. Another chance to prove her worth and continue to rise int he ranks of The Accord. Rico was beyond nervous, but also more excited than she ever was. Her and a strike team were going to infiltrate a listening station out in Sith space and tear it down. Nothing about that seemed simple. But, Rico was confident she could fly them in and out without any trouble. Once inside though, her skills would really be put to the test. After her last mission, she had returned to The Void with a sniper rifle and had been training with Mani, a friend from a previous mission, who coincidentally would be joining her again today. Though she wasn't the best shot, she was more handy than she had been before.

While Rico waited for the strike team to arrive in the hanger, Rico double and triple checked her ship to make sure everything was in order. She'd made several modifications to the cruiser which would boost their speed and maneuverability. She also had a few other surprises just in case someone came looking for trouble. Deciding not to bring a change of clothes, she'd already dressed herself in her combat armor. She'd gotten this beauty directly from The Void's vault, though upgraded it some when she had the time and the money. Her long red hair was left alone so it flowed gently behind her. It also highlighted her deep brown eyes and framed her soft chin. Even though she would never call herself a warrior or a fighter, she sure looked the part.

Hezron Vyrantus had known he'd need to tackle a mission like this at some point in his life. A sith listening post, he wondered if he'd ever been there before. Most of his life back then was a torrent of emotions more then they were clear memories. Thats how it was as a sith like him, you often let your emotions guide your actions, and the more wild they ran the better. Things change however, and so had Hezron, leaving behind the dark side, and with it, his past allegiance to the sith.

The arkanian offshoot was dressed in his robes, which had mandalorian armor over them. He opted not to wear a helmet, and his hair was done in a ponytail to keep it manigable, finding the helmet made him feel like he was cramped and claustrophobic a bit. In his hand was his lightsaber pike, which he held like a walking stick. At his waist, was a crossguard lightsaber, and a heavy blaster pistol, with the poaches holding a few grenades in case theyd need it.

Perhaps he was being too prepared for a fight. But this was a mission that stirred up a lot of skeletons that Hezron would have rather seen buried. He wanted to make sure nothing would be left standing inside, assuming they couldn't be talked down. The force sensitive made his way to the hanger, looking accross its space to see who else had gathered for this mission.

called in last minute the man briskly strode towards his destination. he adjusted the sniper rifle he carried slung over one shoulder as well as the backpack he had to carry any gear he would need for the mission. now he wore a dark grey Arbitrator PAK with minimal blue highlighted secondary around various parts. he had two sets of mandalorian armor but prefered using the Arbitrator PAK at this point. it was what his father had used and was still manufactured by a company within the reaches of Mandalorian space.

he had his brawler blaster on his hip as well as two knives though he would prefer to stick with his rifle if he had the option too. soon he came into view of Rico and a pale skinned male who he could only assume was either Echani or Arkanian. there were probably other species with similar complexions but the young man was not aware of their names.

"what happened to that flight suit you wore last time. it was very...form fitting." the man slightly flirted. the red haired female had looked attractive so much so that she had practically distracted half of the pirate base they had been sent to reconnoiter. now her outfit was more modest though still gave her an alluring appearance equal to its fortitude.

Ra'jhan was disgruntled. This was supposed to be his off time. He had very specifically filed for leave time so that he could enjoy a brief hiatus on his home world, where he knew the drink and women would flow freely, but no. Here he was being called into yet another dangerous setting, risking his hide, and his resources, just so he could thanklessly yet again save the liv-...

The Nalroni paused. A familiar voice came from the group he was approaching, and beneath his stylized helm, his face adopted a slight smile. A familiar ally who knew what he was capable of. Good. Perhaps this assignment would not be quite as intolerable as he believed it was going to be.
"Hail Hunters," he called out in his vaguely feminine and toneless voice as he approached.

The group's attention would be drawn to a figure of about two meters in height, clad in dulled bronze colored armor that protected his vital areas well enough, but left much of his black skin tight armorweave body suit visible. The armor was apparently modeled after a Krayt Dragon, as the patterns of scales worked into it, and the helm, shaped into the beast's snarling visage, clearly displayed. Strapped to his back were a pair of electroblades, and at his waist, two Gratia blaster pistols. In addition, a flashbang and a thermal detonator sat in two individual small pouches at the small of his back, and doubtless he carried other, less obvious, weapons.

Rico would look up from where she was standing and glanced at the light-skinned man in Mando armor. It resembled hers in a way, though probably was much different. She had never met this man before, but she was excited to meet new friends on this adventure. She was about to introduce herself when she heard a familiar voice call out to her. She turned and saw Mani walking up in his own armor.

"what happened to that flight suit you wore last time. it was very...form fitting."

"Oh ha ha," she would say crossing her arms. "You really think I'm going to walk into a Sith outpost dressed like that? Maybe I'll flirt them to death? You perv."

"Hail Hunters,"

It was then that their third comrade showed himself, a Nalroni wearing bronze armor and an underweave. He was rather handsome for being....well not human. His muscles were just.....Rico looked away with a blush coming to her face. She stayed silent for a minute while the others introduced themselves and she'd speak up last.

Hezron was mildly paying attention to the group as he heard them talk to one another. His attention was drawn to someone saying hail hunters, looking towards the person, then down towards his waist, and frowning. "Gratia Pistols...." He said, a disapproving tone in his voice as he looked back to see the nalroni in the eyes, "Make sure you know who to point that weapon towards..." He said, working hard to keep from glaring as he looked back towards Rico.

"Hezron Vyrantus. It's nice to meet you..." He said to the other two, giving a bow of his head as he glanced towards Rico, "I take it you'll be our pilot for this mission." Hezron had meet hunters once before, members of the militia at least. He found them to be distasteful, and he had a fond displeasure against their rank and file, and their weapons. He worked to push that aside however, for the good of the mission. Perhaps this person merely meant something else, he reason, and thus he shouldn't hold it against them.

But still, his hand tightened on the grip of his staff, as he waited for introductions to end, and their mission to begin.

the man shrugged in response like he were guilty of a crime that wasn't bad to be ashamed of. the announcing entry of the Nalroni made Mani raise an eyebrow. the voice seemed familiar and his brow lowered once he saw it was Ra'jhan. the human had worked with the Nalroni before and found him to be somewhat callow and that was saying something coming from someone who felt he was immature himself. still he gave a nod of greeting.

the arkanian offshoot that spoke came to his attention as well as his comment. he appeared to be a more reserved individual under the man's gaze and he found himself looking the pale skinned individual up and down just as much as he had Rico but for different purposes. Mani had not met many arkanians or their offshoot counterparts so he was curious about them. the man's father had been a member of the frontier buccaneers, led by an arkanian offshoot but his father never really spoke of the group nor its members. but the lack of information had always made Mani that much more curious. after Hezron introduced himself Mani did likewise but for the most part stayed quiet.

The Nalroni's expression was unreadable beneath the facade of his helmet, but he subtly adjusted the way he walked as he noticed the female looking his way, accentuating his musculature and other assets. The human sniper received a cant of the head and then a slight downwards tilt in reply, while the other two were looked over, their appearance and obvious weaponry filed away into his memory for later use.

No matter what others might say about his off duty habits and methods, he had an exemplary track record, receiving bonus points for discovering the connections between an attempted assassination of a well known Christophis noble and a shadowy syndicate that directly opposed the Accord, and then public accolades for bringing in two Sith prisoners, seemingly on his own. Yet he rarely, if ever, spoke to his comrades about his accomplishments, or indeed spoke to them at all.

He was strong. He was rich. He would get the job done. That's all one needed to know about Ra'jhan, and that's how the mercenary liked it.

"Agent Hessar. Pilot. Specialize in... acquiring additional resources and intel."

"I take it you'll be our pilot for this mission."

"Yes," she would say with the bow of her head. "Red Haired Rico, at your service." Rico would smile at Hezron and then likewise for the other two. Now that they were all here, she needed to get them moving.

"If you'll go ahead and board we can get started with the liftoff procedures. There isn't a whole lot of living space inside but I would ask that you refrain from entering the room that says 'Rico's Bedroom' Everywhere else is fair game."

"This vessel is a most enjoyable accommodation...Thank you." Hezron said as he looked around the ship, walking up the ramp as his saber pike made a clink with each step he took. The ship was a good one, from his perspective at least. He looked around and asked in a curious tone of voice, "How fast might this ship be?"

as the others continued to speak to one another Mani would head closer to the ship. he had nothing left to say at this point and Rico seemed ready to depart. since she was their ride he thought it best not to keep her waiting. once inside he peered inside the cockpit to get an idea of the ship's systems. though the female was the owner and flyer of the vessel he liked to have some understanding of the craft in which his life resided within.

it wasn't like a ship he had flown in before but it wasn't too strange he wasn't sure he couldn't figure out on his own. since the man had shown Rico some tips on shooting maybe she would be able to teach him how to fly. instead of sitting in one of the passenger seats towards the back of the compartment he took one of the seats closer the pilot seat that seemed to potentially be a co-pilot or navigator seat. it was unlikely the Coruscanti female would need his limited expertise but perhaps he could learn a thing or two just from watching her.

I'm skipping @DancingFox. It's time to get this thread moving. Feel free to post in if you get back on.

Once everyone was settled Rico would begin to take off procedures. She knew her way around her ship so well she could do it blindfolded. One button after another and the engines would light up and they'd begin their launch. However, unlike most ships, the takeoff was silent, at least from the inside of the ship. That was just one of her many improvements on her baby. Slowly, she'd pilot the ship out of the hanger and they'd be on their way. She began to program the navi-computer to their destination while the cruised slowly away from the hanger and into free space.

"Here we go," she would say and pulled the lever taking them into the spinning tunnel of light.

"Let's all do our best out there, okay? Watch each others backs." Hezron offered as his only real advice to the group, looking out into space as he spoke, "I know the sith. They'll try to end us quickly if they aren't overly confident or stupid. We just gotta be careful, and keep each other safe." He said, having faith that they'd be able to pull that off well.

the man made sure he was secure since he knew how the red haired female flew. flying well and flying comfortably were not always the same thing and he didn't want to end up getting tossed around the inside of the ship if he could help it. the mandalorian male heard the arkanian-offshoot's words and murmured in agreement.

as they flew he went over any information on the place they were heading. Mani had not been given much notice before being assigned to this mission so he felt he needed to cram any pertinent information as possible before the operation was in full swing. "never gone up against a sith before..." he said. it was an opening for anyone to fill with information or personal experiences. the man had seen a great deal in the galaxy so far but there were still limits to his wisdom and overall knowledge.

"I've met a Sith once. Scary things. This was back when I worked with Czerka. I actually...kinda did something I wasn't supposed to. I sold some of our goods to the Sith not thinking I could get caught. It's not like I was going to pocket it or nothing. I just.....they paid more. So I get there and this Sith I guess has the same idea as me. Get a little pay for this. It was......scary dealing with her. No concern for others. She could have killed me without a second glance." Rico shivered in the seat as she kept her eyes forward. "I'd never been so scared in my life."

"The sith draw from the dark side of the force. Its their fuel, and their burden. Anger, Hatred, Fear, Self-Loathing, and Pride are just a few of the wells that they can draw from. It numbs ones concern for others, and dulls the pain one experiences. Seperating them from the force, all for power, and little else..." Hezron said, sounding disgusted as he explained the dark side to his two companions as he knew it, as a man who had broken from its hold upon himself. He had nothing but revilement for it, and who he used to be while he used it.

"Take my word for it. While they may appear to be powerful, and command abilities some consider to be strong. They are all weak inside, they just don't realize it unless having it smacked into them."

Mani didn't reply for a moment as he took in the words the wizened arkanian said. this seemed to confirm a lot of the rumors about the sith if this man had first hand experience. "So you've talked to one before?" he said finally looking at Hezron. obviously Rico had talked to one but she also said it was scary. there were a few times that people had been scared of Mani as an individual under layers of armor and sporting a high powered blaster rifle but underneath he was just a regular guy, maybe a little bit more charming and handsome than most but still nothing out of the ordinary.

now that the ship was traveling through hyper space he relaxed a little and turned to face the arkanian-offshoot. the questions he had for both of his cohorts were not just to gain information about the sith as a whole or what ever subject he inquired about but also their answers told him something about them depending on how they responded.

Rico too would relax now that the ship was doing its own thing. It would take them at least a day to travel across the universe the path they were headed. Obviously they couldn't just fly in a straight line, so a few backroads as Rico would call them were in order. Plus, they didn't want to give away their location and/or their presence of arrival. This was just as much a stealth mission as it was a fighting one.

As such, Rico would cough suggestively hoping to get the other two's attention. When neither of them spoke, giving her the floor, she would turn around in her chair and fold her hands in her lap. "So, what's the plan? What are we going to do when we get to the place? I'd rather not spend my time talking about how horrible those men are and focus on how we're going to beat them. I am not a fighter." She would look at them both, Mani for a little longer. "I can shoot. I'm a sniper. I can assist you guys. Just don't count on me to be the best shot when it comes to a sword-fight. I've seen the way Sith do battle. No way I can go up against something like that. You guys will have to take them out. Maybe I can get in a good shot once they're distracted."
