"Very well." Katarn nodded. "This ability is simple in theory, but terribly hard in practice. You must physically bend the light and sound around you. It is a great ability to use against droids, however a jedi can easily sense your presence as the amount of energy you exert to do this is immense. Because of the energy requirements, it is also hard to maintain and you won't be able to use any other techniques while using this one. There is a room for training in this ability on the third floor. Its basically a camera with a direct feed to a screen. Remember, you are trying to bend the light around yourself."

((ok, I know wookiepedia says that it can block people sensing you through the force when you use this technique, but it doesn't. It requires so much energy that you'd stick out like a sore thumb. Simple science. There is a seperate technique to block someone sensing the force in you, but that one requires you temporarily renounce your connection to the force. You can't have both.))

"Alright. I'll get to it," Josh said as he left Katarn's office, making his way towards the third floor for the training room. As Josh made the trip, he kept repeating the last words Katarn said to him, "Remember, you're trying to bend the light around yourself.". He didn't know what this necessarily meant. But he was going to find out one way or the other.

Josh made it to the third floor and found the training room Katarn talked about. Josh entered the room and saw the camera with the live feed. He saw himself. He danced a little. He then got composure of himself. "Now. How am I supposed to bend the light?" Josh questioned himself. He started to run scenarios through his mind. It would require the utmost energy. So Josh would have to focus EVERYTHING on this one power. Josh closed his eyes.

He began to concentrate. He used memories of his mom being killed for suffering, which he turned into motivation. He could feel the power growing in him. His body started to shake. He could feel the small room began to rattle the slightest. Josh opened his eyes to look at the camera feed. He was still visible. He then collapsed. When he recovered from the Force exertion, he went down to the cafe to get some dinner. Trying to use all that Force wore him out.

Josh went to the library to try and read up on, "Force Cloak" to see if he could get an angle. Basically, the power was like a chameleon effect. Josh would take on the colors of his surrounding to blend in - not necessarily disappear.

After Josh finished his reading, he returned back to his room for the night. But he did it with a twist. He used his new learned Force power, Force Sight to guide him. Josh closed his eyes and made it all the way back to his room. He was stoked for that accomplishment. While in his room, he went to the wall where the female was on the there side. He used Force Sight again and looked through. He just hoped she was decent.

She was sleeping. Josh could see everything. She was beautiful. Tan complexion. Long blonde hair. He watched her sleep for the longest time. He actually lost track of time watching her. He snapped out of his gaze when her eyes shot open. He hoped she didn't sense him. He got in his bed quickly and went to sleep.

The next day, Josh thought of the whole chameleon thing he was getting on yesterday. He had to blend in - in a sense. He went to the cafeteria. There was a crowd of people. He stood in the back, in a dark corner. He observed everyone. He concentrated everything he had, to draw upon the Force. He then used the Force to try and bend the way the light around him hit him. All of a sudden, the lights went off. He bended the light around him alright. But he did it the wrong way.

Josh made his way out of the cafeteria to the training room. Once in the room he stood there. Concentrating. Bend the light. Bend the light. Bend the light. Josh could feel the force building around him. Josh had the idea if he could build a shield in front of him, that took the effect of his surroundings, he could bend the light. In a sense. Otherwise, he was stumped on how to bend the light.

While Josh was trying to create the shield, he could feel the Force drain his physical energy. He was starting to black in and out. He blacked out, but didn't black in. Josh woke backup in the medical bay. When he woke up, he noticed the female he was staring at through the wall, was waiting for him to come to.

"Hey you," she said as she came to his side.

"What happened," Josh asked.

"Um, you blacked out. I was walking by, and found you," she replied. "I'm Sheena, by the way," she said with a smile.

"I'm Josh," he said returning the smile. "What are you doing here?"

"Um," Sheena hesitated. "I'm kinda a slave," she said embarrassed.

"Slave," Josh said. "Explain, please."

"Well. I work here. And I'm compensated. But, I can't reject any order I'm given," she said as she put her head down, ashamed.

Josh picked her chin up, "Don't be embarrassed Sheena. We have to do what we have to do to survive. That's nothing to be ashamed or embarrassed about."

She smiled, "You do have a point, Josh. I never looked at it that way."

"Mhm. I have to go though, Sheena. I have to continue my training. I'll see you around?"

"Sure. I'm not going anywhere. Hahaha."

"You do have a point," Josh said with a chuckle.

Josh returned to his room, fatigued from the training once again. While he slept, he thought of ways to bend the light. The plan he had was a solid one. The power just called upon to much Force. He didn't know if he'd be able to complete this one or not. But tomorrow would decided if he did or not.

Josh arrived at the training room early. Before the light even hit the temple. Josh concentrated on making the shield that would physically bend the light, in turn, hiding him. Josh concentrated hard. The Force built around him. The walls began to rattle a bit. Then, fatigue started to settle end. Josh pushed forward. He was tired of this Force like block.

Josh kept concentrating. He used past suffering as motivation. He kept at it. He looked at the camera feed. He was still there. He kept at it, then all of a sudden, it was dark. Josh looked, the light was still on. The surround area around him was lit up. He looked at the camera feed. The room was empty. He moved back and forth. Nothing. He dropped the shield. Then he collapsed. Again. Josh woke up in his room. Sheena came to him.

"You passed out again," she started. "Or are you trying to meet up with me," she said with a grin.

"Would you get mad at me if I said, both," Josh said with a chuckle.

"No. I would be flattered. I haven't had anyone talk to me like you in, years."

"Well," Josh said as he put a hand on hers. "Hopefully there is more to come," he said with a smile. Sheena giggled then blushed. "I have to go though. I have to report to Katarn," Josh said as he got up and started to leave.

"Josh," Sheena said as Josh got to the door. "Don't black out again," she said with a smile.

"I'll try not to," he replied as he exited the room, making his way towards Katarn's office.

OCC: No its fine. I expected this. It evolves my character, and me as a poster. It does add depth to the training. I enjoy it.

Katarn was relaxing for once in her office. She had finished her paperwork and was now able to simply relax. She had some Corellian Brandy in her hand and her feet were proped up on her desk. It was days like today she was glad she wore pants.

Josh strolled in with a smile on his face. He saw Katarn was drinking and had her feet propped up on the desk. He could sense she was in a better mood. He sat down and propped his feet up. "I finished the training. It was tiring as hell. It wore my body out physically and mentally. But it is a great power to use against droids and non-Force users. I'm also glad you're in a better mood, finally."

"Well," Katarn began, before issueing a sigh of relief. "I've finished all my paperwork for the next week. So long as none of my students blow anything up I should be able to relax for a bit. Have you decided on what you want to learn next?"

((you can technically end your training right now and go through with your trial mission. But once you leave training, you can't learn any new abilities unless you start a thread to have someone teach it to you.))

((oh, so you start off in the corellian cluster, you need to find which of the corellian planets he's on first.))
