Relieved thissss moon somewhat of itsss former command." he paused there were a few cheers going up. "You were soldiers once, proud, ruthlessss, and above all you were once considered elite." the solemn tones of his voice indicated sincerity as he held the microphone in his grasp.
"Then came a fateful day, when all wassss lossst. But no more!" he said joyfully triumph in his voice. "We have now amassed wealth through putting your former masterssss to work in your place, the whips in your handsss! Two long years in the mines they have toiled not nearly as long as you all, or your sonssss. Today is the day we shall rise to power! Today we shall earn back your glory under a new banner." Dussk had prepared this speech, and it was going well he had successfully rallied the mens support."We have trained our young to join our old in combat, thisss is good. We have amassed wealth for our shipsss, and thisss is good." he stopped in his stride looking out to the crowed then up at the sky, as his small fleet stood ready.
"We have kept your enslavers enslaved themselves after this glorious revolution and for this we have claimed the name Rebels of the Dark Moon. But from this day forth we shall be known as the Soldiers of the Dark Moon. Today we are now a force hundreds strong. Today we will begin our ascendancy into glory! Your fate was once dark but only now will you achieve what is rightfully yours. Now we are known As the Dark Moon Mercenaries and now will begin our conquests. We shall be feared. We shall be hated. We shall be wanted by the highest bidder and most importantly, we shall be free." Cheers were heard all around, the men and women of the Dark Moon Mercenaries ecstatic ready for the taste of battle once again...
Two years ago the Independent Merc by the name of Dussk Harassi accepted a job that brought him to a moon on the colony worlds it is a moon that is often in darkness due to the mass of the eclipse caused by it's planet. For this it often was referred to as the Dark Moon. He was tasked to kill one man, the owner of a mining colony. What he found there was many like himself, once the best and the elite of the warrior culture brought down to the ranks of slaves by those who owned the mining colony.
30 years ago, 2 line companies had been tasked to covertly take over the mines of this place for another planets economic gain but someone had leaked Intel and sold them out. Two more smaller more specialized parties were sent on rescue attempts. Like their fore runners, they too were captured and forced to work in the harsh tunnels of the phrik mines, and on the surface of the small moon using oxygen systems to supplement for the thin atmosphere. Some died in the mines some grew old and lost their will to live walking into the cold atmosphere with no protection dying honorably rather than at the hand of their now masters. Eventually all hope had died and the moon had been forgotten due to the politicians wanting a monopoly on it's phrik, a very valuable material indeed.
Having the element of surprise Dussk killed the man who owned the mine. Then he freed the slaves, who overthrew and in turn enslaved their masters. Irony and justice at its finest. This was nearly two years ago, and was the birth of the Dark Moon Mercenaries, who now claimed their rightful titles once again, and hungered for battle but first, now that the mines have been depleted there was one last thing to do. That night a massacre occurred as the mercenaries slew their former oppressors and thus their vengeance complete.

Funding: Original funding came from a Phrik mine on the small moon orbiting the colony world of Phu. However now the mines have began to run dry, and they now rely on their employers to fund what is needed.
Ships: 1 Corvette class and 2 fighter squadrons
Forces: 532 Total
Uniforms: Many of the men simply retrieved their old gear from the armories, some used the armor of their former masters, a sign of their rebellion and a show of pride. Some used their share of the wealth to buy new or upgraded gear all together. One thing stood out above all however, a black cresent moon shone on the shoulder of every armor a sign of loyalty, and of remembrance.
OOC NOTE: there will be NO suites of Phrik armor. None. The mine is dry everything that was of worth from the mine was sold to buy gear/ships/et cet. Also if you would like to sign up please post here with your characters name breif history and a link to his profile page. Creating a character with a history as a slave on the dark moon will get you bonus points.
