Market Recover Set to Continue

Following months of uncertainty in the markets due to the Sith-Republic War, the Markets seem to be on the recovery. One analyst, from the Makr Holdings group has reported that the recovery appears to be holding steady, despite mounting tensions on the Sith Empire from numerous underworld groups and criminal syndicates.

Wattra. Corp (@Danee) has been seeing considerable growth within Imperial Space, with rumours abound about preferred supplier status being assigned to them by the Grand Moff of the Core, Solomon Lok - however these rumours have not been confirmed by the Imperial Leadership (@Malon). Deeper into Sith business, DDI (@Darasuum) have seen steady growth in revenues, thanks in part to the recent release of two new ship designs.

Finally, the Desilijic Conglomerate (@Meckabro) has remained silent in the past weeks ahead of rumours that their leader, Keddo Desilijic Koragga has been attended the annual Boonta Hutta races on Tatooine.

Sentinel Hotel Opens for Business

A newcomer to the Hotel scene in Coruscants upper levels, the Sentinel Hotel has opened for business, following some stunning work to its interior. Purchased by an unknown investor, the Sentinel has been refurbished inside and out, to cater for a very elite clientele, with rumours abound that some of the Galaxies top level Bounty Hunters (@Black Noise) have been seen coming and going.

CNN - Out with the Old, In with the New

Finally, everyone's favourite entertainment agency, the Czerka News Network, is happy to welcome a new team on board, including our editor, affectionately known in the industry as ‘Flattop’.

Following a series of broadcasting blackouts due to complications with our holonet systems Norbs being lazy we should be able to bring more frequent broadcasts such as ‘I’m a Senator get me outta Here’ and ‘Keeping up with the Desilijics’ (one of the most popular shows in the Outer Rim) moving forward.

  • Carried over from the great age before the timeskip, the Czerka News Network (CNN) was originally part of the Czerka Corporation faction, and then spun off as an NPC entity to support lore writing of articles. Following the TS, CNN has returned in a limited capacity, and has once again switched sides and styles to ensure its survival.

  • CNN currently operates outside of Imperial Space, from within a mobile asteroid facility which allows them access of the wider holonet. This base is located near Bespin, and is outside of factional territory and shall remain so.

  • If you have something you want to see covered in CNN, please drop me a PM with a run down of the article in question, and a link to any relevant threads. This will then be written up in the next ‘broadcast’. Please note that all articles will be spun to fit the theme of the agency.

  • This group is NPC only, although PCs may work for the group if they desire (but shall receive no benefit aside from credits I suppose). This group is a parody of real news groups, and therefore what is reported here may not be an accurate reflection of the events shown. To resolve this issue, simply ignore the thread or write to another parody news group on site to contests it.

I further ask that people avoid posting in this thread.

Some Guy Ages by a Year

Our editor has aged today, by roughly one year and we need to report about it or get fired. Known by many as the fifteen times winner of the world's best smile, and seventeen times winner of the ‘Hottest Journalist at CNN’, John ‘’The Hammer’’ Johnson the Third, has been with CNN for about twenty five years, taking over the business following the death of Voren Makr.

Joining in the mail room back when people actually sent letters John worked his way up through the ranks of CNN, thanks to his article headlines like ’’Hutts are all Criminals, and Rodians are not much better.” and Prudii will never be Mandalore’’ followed one week later by ”Prudii becomes Mandalore: Worst decision ever’’ followed a day later by ”Is Prudii the best Mandalore we have ever had?’’.

Such articles saw great circulation on social media, and earned him the name ‘’The Hammer’’ following a debate in which he described Social Media as ‘’literally worse than genocide’’ and then proceeded to smash a communications unit to pieces with a hammer live on TV whilst screaming ‘’Buy my papers!’’.

Having been accused of throwing cigars at more than 100 employees, having sixteen liver transplants due to excessive drinking, and firing his secretary every three days, we here at CNN feel blessed to have such a boss….

….I’m fired aren't I?

Contract Killings on the Rise

A spate of contract killings across the Core and Mid-Rim have left law enforcement officials stunned. Carried out with extreme planning, it has been suggested by our analysts here at CNN that a great amount of the contracts seem to be originating from the DarkNet. We have no idea what that even means, but check it out?

Have you been affected by a loved one being shot by a hitman?

Get in touch!

Organised Crime on the Rise

It seems like our period of peace and love is over, with reports of Slavery on the rise in the Outer-Rim. Known to be a nest of crime and poverty, filled with aliens who seek to bring down the stability of core society every day, flooding over our borders and taking our jobs, rumours are abound that say a new player is on the block.

Based, unsurprisingly, out of the criminal cesspool of Hutt Space, a group known on the street as the ‘Shadow Syndicate’ (@EmilyHuene) are reportedly behind the rise in slave trading. Mandalorian and Sith Officials have yet to comment, but are no doubt very shocked. Probably.

Freedom Reigns!

A daring raid (@Herrith) carried out by unknown assailants has taken place on the palace of Slogda the Hutt. A known crime lord, wanted by the authorities in several sectors, Slogdas Palace was reportedly raided late last night, and several of his slaves freed.

For reasons unknown Slogda was not harmed or captured, and has been unavailable for comment.

EMPEROR PRESUMED DEAD

Corvo Vis - Republic Hero - Missing

The Emperor is presumed dead, with widespread rumours to the fact spreading like wildfire across Imperial Space and beyond. Following an engagement, in which it is said that Corvo Viz (@Phoenix) and others (@Sreeya) engaged with the Sith Leader (@Malon) aboard his flagship, the Emperor is understood to have fallen whilst he unleashed an unnatural storm above the planet. Analysts say that few caught in the radius of - what experts are calling - a ‘Force Storm’ are expected to survive, further adding to the genocidal toll of the Empire.

With large numbers of the Empire's leading personnel suspected to be dead, or in hiding, many are wondering - are the days of this Empire now over, and if so, what will take its place? Corvo Vis, who has been named as the Mastermind behind the infamous ‘Moff Council Bombing’ by CNN in the past, is presumed to have perished whilst taking down the Imperial Dictator and War Criminal, and was considered by many here at CNN to be a natural successor to the Emperor.

However, with little form of government still in place, many are wondering, are we still in for more of the same? Want to find out more, head to CNN on the Holo to read about ‘How to form a Government when everyone is dead’.

SUPERWEAPON UNLEASHED OVER CORELLIA

Millions die in latest Imperial Outrage

Defying all convention, yet coming as a surprise to none, the Empire has unleashed an experimental super weapon above the densely populated world of Corellia. Whilst the above picture is little more than an artist's impression of the weapon understood to have been constructed for Admiral DuValle (@Insalius), the Superweapon has been confirmed to have been seen in action above Corellia.

Whilst the planet itself resides in Imperial Space, it is suspected that the world is still recovering from the near total Economic Collapse it suffered under the despotism of self declared ruler Aren Krass nearly a decade prior. Currently, members of an unnamed fleet of outlaws (@AutoFox) and elements of the Mandalorian Fleets (@Arclight @Darasuum) have engaged the weapon, which has already taken out a flagship under the command of the Mandalorian Leader.

Czerka Representatives at the famous, successful and always-on-time cross planetary monorail network on Corellia have been seen appealing for calm, and are in the process of moving as many people as possible to shelter from falling spatial debris.

ANNUAL HUTT BEAST FIGHT UNDERWAY

Despite concerns about animal and entrant safety

Despite continued worry around the welfare of the beasts entered, the Annual Hutt Beast Fight has gone ahead. Having already claimed the life of the Czerka Vice President of Corporate Relations, Dar Appia - in a mix up senior executives have said had nothing at all to do with them, in any way - the Competition is well underway with Gorogs (@Topher Ridge) and myriad other creatures (@Versok @Drav) engaging in the infamous bloodsport.

Analysts say the fight has already attracted some 8 billion credits in gambling alone, with sponsorship figures having yet to be released. This comes ahead of the usual legal troubles around using starving animals in pit fights against people with no weapons. The Hutt organisers have not been willing to comment.

EDITORIAL - THE FUTURE

With the Empire collapsing, what comes next?

An Empire Falls, and soon something else must rise to take its place. Dear readers, we have been here before, and once again, the cycle has come back around. But, what comes next? Do we do what we always have done, shuffle back into the structures and bureaucracy of the Republic, with all its flaws - throwing ourselves back into the comfort of familiarity, or do we dare to strive for something better, for something new?

The Galactic Experiment, let’s face it, has failed. Time and time again we place power into the hands of an elitist Core Centered Oligarchy, and time and time again it is corrupted from within, and collapses to another power, who sweep in on the backs of that former engine of Governance, and in doing so seize control of the Galaxy. Dare we suggest, that when the Empire falls finally, and the last flag is torn down - we move for an Alliance of sectors, united in the interest of peace, but able to make its own laws, and to leave its members well enough alone?

With Corellia commanding a vast sector of space, the Core Worlds likewise, and then entire swathes of the rim no doubt set to fall under the control of Warlords and Imperial Dictators clinging to their power, it is my view that we must accept that we cannot apply one Government to all, and thus we must learn to work with one another - not to rule all, but to keep the peace.

It is my view, and was that of my fathers, that we must strive not for a Republic in which all nations are bound by common law and subservient to that great entity to which they all ascribe, the senate, but instead we form a ‘Galactic Alliance’, made up of those states and powers - the Corellian systems to name but one, working in a common interest, able to make deals and agreements with one another, but not pass laws for anyone but themselves. How can we strive for peace, if we move back to a system of Republics that demands conformity from all?

In conclusion dear readers, it is my hope and desire that we can move for a Galactic Alliance, of independant states, and seek a common peace, not a common law.

David Gregory Makr

A LOOK BACK

We take a look at the top CNN moments.

Well, as this chapter comes to end, we at CNN take a look back at some of the top CNN moments from this period. Now, what follows is not a list of the best, or indeed the most popular moments of CNN history, however we feel it is a list of some of the biggest, or most controversial events we covered.

Death of Chancellor Chanzots Husband - One of the first every articles published, this reported on the bombing of the Chancellor and her Husband, whilst at dinner with Czerka CEO and Chairman, Voren Makr. It is widely understood that following the Death of the Chancellor's Husband, Chanzot and Voren entered into a relationship, which has lead many to question the motive behind the bombing.

Krassgate Scandal - Mired in false allegations that CNN was peddling ‘Fake News’, the KrassGate Scandal dominated the headlines for just under a month, and is one of the events that lead to issues on Corellia, and even the assassination of the Senator some weeks later. To this day CNN stands by their actions, and the issue remains still, a controversial one.

Rise of Senator Rhone - Conducting an interview with the young Senator, who would one day go on to become the Chancellor of the Republic, and the man who lead the Galactic Army into War, the interview saw the mans meteoric surge in popularity.

Prudii 4 Mandalore - In a shock U-Turn, CNN endorsed Prudii as the next leader of the Mandalorian Dominion, despite denouncing him as a terrorist a mere week earlier.

Death of Voren Makr - Announcing the Death of their Chairman and Founder, CNN brushed this story under the carpet, saying that the man had died in combat. However, it is now understood Voren took his own life to avoid mounting investigations at his involvement in the death of Chancellor Chanzots husband, blackmail of the Corellian Government, ties to the Sith Empire, allegations of funding terrorism and several abuses of power. The Makr family continue to deny the rumours.

Talia Al’Saif Endorsement - Often called the ‘Darling of the Republic’ by CNN, Talia killed a Sith Emperor, by setting him on fire in single combat. The story went viral, and the video of the event is still one of the most highly shared on the Holonet.

Mandalorian Independance - CNN reported live as the Prime Minister of Mandalore declared its freedom from the Republic.

Death of the Mandalore - In one of the most widely watched broadcasts, CNN reported on the death of the Mandalor, Prudii Kyramuud, who is widely believed to have been one of the most well respected people to hold the office.

From all of us here at CNN, it has been a pleasure to serve throughout this period, and we hope that in times to come, we can still offer entertainment, controversy and maybe even occasionally, actual news once more.

Our thanks go to our former head of news Rix Paige (@Sangga) without whom none of this would have been possible.
