The Coterie
[History]
The Coterie is a small band of individuals who share a particular series of goals. In this instance, the Coterie is a group of likeminded individuals who share a certain outlook on the actions and misplaced power and faith instilled upon the evil Sith Empress, Andraste. Founded by none other than the Empress’ Spymaster, Royston Spektor, who may be better known as Darth Tarak. Dissatisfied with the Empress’ rule, Spektor gathered individuals from all walks of life, each with their own brand of influence, contact network and resources at their disposal. Pulling these members from their respective factions, drawing them into the conspiratorial folds of the Coterie.For over a decade, Andraste has been pillaging the galaxy to sate her own blood lust, and for the most part, she had targets that were passable as scapegoats. It wasn’t until 1023 ABY, during the Battle of Anoth, was it truly realised just how far the wicked Empress’ motives had fallen. Beyond all measure of leadership, humanity, and even sanity had her actions become. During this Battle, the Sith Spymaster realised that he had become a part of a system so prone to blindly following its own propaganda that he tenderly set his mind to the task of amending the error that had been left unchecked to plague the galaxy. Spektor began making contact with various figures around the galaxy, from different factions and allegiances- some even within his own faction. The end result of his efforts was an unlikely band of individuals, many of whom who had never crossed paths, all united in the face of the Empress’ needless and merciless bloodlust.
Their goal was clear; to break the hold that the Empress had on the galaxy, by any means necessary. Whether they suffer in her servitude, oppression, neglect, or favour - the citizens of the galaxy would be set free of Andraste’s crimes. And Andraste’s head would be set free from her shoulders.
[Assets]
The only asset that the Coterie can truly claim as its own is a single, small shopfront aboard the DSC Daedalus. Located on Level Four, is a small finance firm that handles investment opportunities known as ST&A Finances. The company is dutifully vague on what the ST&A abbreviates. The shopfront legitimately handles a small, but respectable number of accounts that range from low to middling wealth groups. ST&A Finances offers seemingly competitive rates on all their accounts and loans, and is, more often than not, lost amongst the larger, better known banking firms.

It’s location, however, is what makes this business such a valuable asset to the Coterie. Located in a central part of level four, ST&A Finances has five different entries to its’ shopfronts, allowing the Coterie’s members easy, and staggered access to their communal meeting point providing the perfect cover for safe, secret meetings when they need to occur.
Beyond the ST&A Finances business, the Coterie relies solely upon the assets that its members have access to from their original factions. It is the members responsibility to use those assets in such a way that does not betray the Coterie’s secrecy, security, or activities. Whilst these ‘primary’ faction assets may be used by the members of the Coterie, we cannot list them as assets of this Independant Faction as they do not belong to, and never will belong to The Coterie, and remain the property of the original factions.

Vereor has realized that in order to safeguard the Imperium, he must break his oaths and move against her leader. With Vereors cooperation comes the majority of the Imperial Military, the tactical mind that led it to victories, and the insight and access to Andraste that only he can offer. |

As a Bounty Hunter, he has proven his strength as a talented infiltrator, assassin and battle prowess. As his new position as a CEO of a galaxy-wide conglomerate, he has shown signs of a brilliant leader and an apparent wealth. His value as an operative is only surpassed by his reclusiveness. |
[Intent]
The Coterie, originally spawned as an Illuminati-type group between Raif and Bee began to evolve as more people were invited into the planning process of the concepts and ideas that the group would follow. Eventually, as the Foreshadowing series of threads began, characters began to gravitate naturally towards the type of members that the Coterie would need. This organic evolution IC between Royston Spektor and Vica Veszk, coupled with Royston’s own IC inner battles eventually led to the recruitment of individuals who would be able to contribute in secret to the ultimate goal of destabilising the Empire’s power system, profiting members, and the ultimate death of Empress Andraste. The faction’s existence came as a result of these IC stories and threads, leading to the ultimate idea that what we had accidentally created through RP was an Independent Faction. This post is the culmination of those stories, and a summation of the goals, assets and progress of the Coterie as it evolves and completes its goals. Ultimately, the Coterie aims to be the unification of (at present) eight characters who share the ideal of eliminating Andraste through a slow, steady “long game”, which should culminate in the Coterie’s success some time in October or November 2015, just in time for TheStarWarsRP.com’s timeline reboot in December, 2015. Ultimately this faction is not about short, drastic action, but slow, deliberate measured actions that will, using the variety of members it has, nudge the story in such a manner that brings about what we, and our characters believe to be the best outcome for the Galaxy.
I’d like to iterate that, in no means are we oblivious to the notion that our characters are being duplicitous to their parent factions, and accept the inherent risks of participating in this, but we would like to reinforce that this faction, whether approved or not, will continue along the path that the characters involved have set out upon. The Faction sheet is more for administrative purposes, and gives us the opportunity, when possible and if plausible, to expand the operation.
