Darman looked down the sight of his blaster. The facility itself was massive, too large to actually tell where exactly the Jedi were located. He continued scanning the facility making mental notes of various locations of guard posts and the number of guards at each spot. There was no doubt about it, this would be a tough break. Darman keyed in the comm. Frequency that had been attached to the communiqué, “This is Banthaman. Currently observing from rally point Charlie,” Darman was referring to the southeastern defenses indicated on the files they’d receive, “Advise on current position and plan of action. Over.”
Darman scooted backwards to search through his items. It wasn’t long after his meeting with Prudii that he’d received the mission from a rebel contact. It seemed since he was already in the Corellia system that he’d been hired. The details included a stash of explosives and other weaponry that Darman was able to pick up on the way to the system. He was slightly surprised at how much the rebel cell was able to hide, although it was considerably less then he would want on this mission. He had arrived on the planet yesterday, barely managing to evade an Imperial patrol while landing on the planet. He’d found an area to conceal his ship, but it was going to be hard to smuggle the prisoners where it was being kept.
It had also been difficult to move the supplies out without attracting any attention. He’d managed it and now the explosives were sitting in duffel in the passenger seat of a speeder he’d liberated. Gathering what he needed in a backpack, Dar clapped the pack magnetically to his backplate. He was anxious about carrying this much high explosives on him, but duty called. He just hoped a well-placed round would send him and half of the prison into orbit.
Dar looked down at his chrono, it would be night soon. He had sensed a matter of urgency in the completion of this mission, and he didn’t intended to be. He didn’t want to be kept in hostile space for longer than possible. But with so many estimated prisoners, Dar hoped that this partner would be able to assist in getting them off planet. He’d made the necessary space in his freighter, but it would certainly be an uncomfortable ride home.
Dar shouldered his rifle and waited…
