Tran sat on his throne, watching two of his Grubs fight each other to the death for his amusement. It was a slow day. He felt a tap on his left shoulder, and asked without turning, "What is it?"
A Sentient spoke up, speaking in a growl customary to those who have had their vocal chords nearly ruined by the disease they had received, "My lord, we have made contact with some organisms about 500 meters from the entrance to the cave."
Tran asked, "Hostile?"
The Sentient replied, "That's a negative, my lord. They said something about... joining us."
Tran sat up, his interest piqued, "We could always use some actual smart people in this establishment," glaring at the still fighting Grubs. "Send them in!"
