Gaven's insides convulsed. One look upon the woman brought sympathy to her plight. In any other circumstance, Gaven would've been unable to kill her....but this wasn't any other circumstance. She was a Jedi, and she looked a lot like the Jedi girl he had confronted on Ossus. The Jedi had exiled him for avenging the closest friend he had and then rubbed it in his face during his defeat on Ossus. He was sickened by her presence. No amount of tears could sway his decision. His voice came as one behind tears of great anger; his hatred of the Jedi boiled in his stomach. "I could kill her, right now, if it was allowed of me. But you have not given that command, Master, so I will restrain myself." he said, and that he did. He wanted, with every fiber of his body, to kill the Jedi woman, but he restrained himself and awaited his Master's instruction; hoping it would be the command to slaughter the woman.

"Then listen to me," Koran said. "Close your eyes and remember the mountaintop you created in the void. See the clouds packing together and then it starts to rain. Lightning's cracking in the sky and I want you to take this lightning. Take it in your hands and hold it there. Hold it in your hands and don't let go."

Koran began to shout.

"Open your eyes and let the anger flow through you! Call upon the Darkest Dark Side of your soul and let it come out! Set it free as you burn the Jedi bitch alive! Burn her! Tear her apart and keep going until she's nothing more than a burnt pulp!"

He came to stand between the girl and Gaven and he would look straight into the boy's eyes, his hands on Gaven's shoulders. It was an intense look and all Gaven would see in Koran's eyes was darkness. Deep, everlasting darkness. Gaven would be able to see Koran had crossed the point of no return and redemption seemed so far out of Koran's reach. Was Koran the perfect example of what Gaven was supposed to become? Perhaps. Perhaps not.

"Succumb to it, my lad, and unlock your true potential." He stepped aside and screamed: "LET IT OUT! THIS IS YOUR MOMENT OF GLORY AND REVENGE!! KILL HER!!"

The Dark Side aura in the room was sickening. Koran was already corrupted by the Dark Side, so he did not really feel much of its influence. He had been feeling it for a long time now. To Gaven, however, it might have bigger impact. Anyone, even the greatest of Jedi Masters, would find it hard to resist such a strong Dark Side aura as was in this room. And the Jedi girl? She was terrified. She was scared to death.

Gaven felt the burning sickness of the dark side churn in his stomach. He shut his eyes, chest heaving with anger, and was again on the mountaintop. The clouds gathered in the sky within his soul and suddenly rain burst from them, drenching Gaven and all that surrounded him. What followed next dazzled the young Acolyte. Lighting blasted forth from the clouds, heading directly for him. He reached out....and caught it! It didn't hurt him...it energized him! He felt the dark electricity burning through every vain in his body. As he looked into his Master's eyes, his own eyes turned as red as molten lava. The lightning he had discovered in his soul soon reared it's frightening head in the real world as it crackled on his fingertips. He walked past his Dark Jedi Master and directly to the fallen Jedi woman. His fingers were trembling, but not with fear; because he could barely restrain the power in his hands. He pointed his hands directly at the girl and let it go. He just let it all go. Lightning burst from his palms and struck the Jedi woman, causing a scream to rip through the silence of the room. But the screaming didn't last long. Within minutes the screaming stopped, and so did the Jedi's struggling. She lay there, limp, not breathing, and he knew he had done his job. Smoke rose from her corpse and filled the air with the sickening smell of death.

Koran turned towards Gaven and he saw the look in the acolyte's eyes. A sly smile appeared on the Kiffar's lips and he would give a nod of approval.

"And now, my young apprentice," he said, "you are one with the Dark Side. You have also experienced the true power of lightning and thus improved the skill you already possessed. Well done."

A moment later the door to the training room slid open and a slave of the Dark Side appeared. This one belonged to the sub-faction of the Dark Jedi of the Bogan, consisting of non-Force Users who had fallen to the Dark Side, but Koran simply treated them as disposable slaves. To Gaven it might have seemed somewhat weird that the slave entered without seeing Koran or hearing Koran contacting him. Koran had used the technique Telepathy.

"You!" Koran shouted to the slave who had entered. "Clean this up. I expect you to be ready as soon as my apprentice and I return to this room. If not, you know the consequences." Then he turned to Gaven and he said: "Follow me, acolyte Gaven, our next exercises will take place outdoors."

He turned and he would lead the acolyte all the way back to the main hall and then outside into the snowy lands surrounding the temple. He walked further away from the temple, towards a cliff. A deep abyss, if one would fall into it, they would fall for hours before falling to their death. Koran would wait for Gaven to come over to him and then he would explain what it was they were going to do. Fortunately it was a clear night. There were clouds in the starlit sky, but at least it wasn't snowing or storming.
