The Blackened Edge

Square S4

"The final irony of pure tyranny is that those who finally rise up against it are prone to grow more terrible than the tyrants they wished to overthrow."

The "blackened edge" is a corner of the Galaxy most people refuse to speak of. It contains vile governments and horrid oppression that few dare mention. Truly, it is a despots paradise. And yet, for years, the Galaxy has relied on this region for any number of goods and services, and industrialists have been happy to do business with it before averting their eyes to the atrocities performed there and washing their hands of the matter altogether. The region is dark, chaotic, unruly and horrid to gaze upon. Well, to this the Sith say no more. We shall take this region, a place whose weakness makes it rightfully ours! And we shall impose a swift and strong hand upon them, and a beacon of might, power, control and order upon these worlds shall shine across civilizations.

[OPEN] Good Business

LOCATION: PLANETOID B-KM-1816

A campaign to seize the southern brim of the Corporate OverSector has begun. Some of the galaxies most thriving industries and wealthiest families dwell within this outer rim territory. The value of these manufacturing plants is not to be underestimated. Where economy and corporations control a system, taking over its factories practically equates to a military conquest of the system. You will be sent to a prominent mining operation on an asteroid field within the southern sector. There, you will commandeer the outpost and silence all opposition to your newfound authority.

Primary Objective: Rally a squadron of soldiers to infiltrate and take control of the mining facility.

Secondary Objective: Conditions are harsh in these sectors. The workers may be more willing to cooperate if they are given the impression you will be more gracious employers than the previous ones.

Participants: 2-3 SBZ soldiers

Risk: High. You are effectively leading a blatant hostile takeover in foreign territory.

[OPEN] The Uneven Scale

LOCATION: VAYNAI

The wealthy resort planet of Vaynai is a vipers nest of corporate greed and unyielding aristocracy. The ruling powers of the planet sit within lavish estates and govern the working classes in a cold and unsympathetic beaurocracy. Our takeover of the planet would hardly change the status quo, and it should be easy to gain their loyalties if our rule benefits their luxurious lives. There are, in spite of this, a group of wealthy political activists that would find displeasure in having to answer to anyone, and would speak out against our coming domination and rally their subjugated poor against us. There is a meeting going on at a large estate within the capital city between many of these such people. You are to infiltrate the mansion and assassinate as many of the Vaynai aristocratic opposition as possible, and as brutally as you deem appropriate.

Primary Objective: Assassinate the troublesome Vaynai aristocrats

Secondary Objective: Frame their deaths as a rallying point for the lower classes to accept our rule under the false promise of swift societal change. Make sure they know it was the Sith who committed this act.

Participants: 2-3 SBZ or Sith
Chuckles @Captain Hook
Shaw @Darasuum

Risk: High. Hundreds of guards, in an open city. Be ready to fight your way out.

[ASK] Judges

LOCATION: ZYGGERIA

The slave world of Zyggeria offers a bountiful supply of working servants for the ever growing labor industry within the empire. It is imperative that a strong Sith presence is reached on this world, that we would benefit from its economy. However, certain unsavory acts performed by the Zyggerians have discouraged potential buyers and their insistence on high trade tax stands in the way of our benefit. Namely, maiming of slaves through whipping and beating to lessen their value, the kidnapping of citizen populations and the selling of them back to their government in what has devolved into a hostage culture, and the seeming mental numbness and uselessness many slaves seem to have after leaving the brutal slave camps. Many worlds, somehow able to live with the paradox of accepting slavery but not the horrors they witness on Zyggeria, have refused to do business on these pretenses. This is not acceptable. We may be Sith, but even we have standards.

Primary Objective: Meet with the Zyggerian slave lord Chantan Melal and "discuss" a new trade agreement, through whatever means necessary. We will control the Zyggerian slave trade from here on out.

Secondary Objective: In the case that he is uncooperative, kill him, and use your power and allotted troops to enforce the new code of law personally, taking whatever slaves are in the vicinity into your custody.

Risk: Medium. So long as there is no excessive violence it should stay low, but in the case of opposition you will be faced with a decent defense.

Participants - @Crim @Fyonna Kira @Lord_Liam

[ASK] The Wretched Ones

LOCATION: MALACHOR

There are some places that chill the air upon the mentioning of their names, places where even the bravest of crusaders dare not go. Such a place is the dark planet of Malachor. A band of Sith scholars and their servants were dispatched to Malachor two weeks ago to study the nature of the planets' affinity for channeling the dark side of the force. About five days into the research expedition communications became strangely off putting, with Sith and workers beginning to act out of the ordinary. Worse, they reported abnormal readings on their equipment and terrible visions that plagued them the night before. Strangely, we gradually lost all contact with this group within the next 48 hours. We have reason to believe something may have gone terribly wrong.

Primary Objective: Land on the Malachor colony and search for answers as to he location of he Sith colonists, and what may have happened to them.

Secondary Objective: If you find anything of great power or interest, possibly what is causing this whole mess, and it is possible safely secure it and bring it back to Korriban, do so.

Participants: 2-3 Sith

RISK: Unverified.

( NOTE: I will be NPCing and interjecting what you will encounter in this thread when it becomes relevant for me to do so. Feel free to get creative if you want to, however.)

If I am not mistaken I think that Wretched Ones is full, with Topher Ridge, Darasuum and TheTulosDynasty having characters already accepted.

Feel free to join one of the other threads that are still open for members however

Of which, @Topher Ridge and @Darasuum

Are either of you wanting to start the thread? I could do it my next free moment (tomorrow night. I have no life outside work. I just like to pretend I have one.)

Typically, I'd highly recommend those new to the site get a feel for both PVP and missions before jumping into an Open, death-enabled thread. But, I'll just join you instead, @Nerovec.

Can you sign up Cipher for the Uneven Scale, please?

Oh! Whoops, I wasn't paying attention. My bad.

@Nerovec, would you prefer you & I go for "Good Business," instead? It's also Open, but that's entirely for you to decide.

:D
