Hah! Noob! Karyn thought as she saw the pistol rip from his hand. This combatant literally didn't even care about his gear enough to try to hold onto a single weapon. She wondered, idly, if she could just like choke the shit out of him and he'd just roll with that too. As she moved towards him, however, she saw him draw something and then the concussive wave hit her. Her ears began ringing and an intense heat smacked into her body as the girl desperately sprang off of the ground with her legs, twirling away from the blast as much as she could. She gained a little ground, but still as her shaky legs met the ground, the fire wave caught up with her and smacked into her—sending the girl tumbling across the ground, burns all over her body.

"Well shit..."
Karyn groaned before her eyes fluttered and she slipped out of consciousness.

ith. Weak, worthless, unnecessary. They may have fashioned themselves as the founders of the Empire, but the Legion was its backbone. They were the real reason why the Brotherhood had become the ultimate power it is today, and why the many battles for the Core was won. Kyuss Thaun, Warlord Zanhra— though devoid of the force, their strength and actions alone made the Empire great. But, the Dark Council, and the Inquisition? From their constant infighting, belligerent drivel, decrepit training— they would drive everything they built to the ground. Such was the belief of Alexei Petrov.

And today, his convictions remain the same. With the fall of one Inquisitor, and the apparent retreat of another, the General would be left exposed to the oncoming attacks of two experienced Jedi Knights, their blades ready to strike him down, and thus all the plans he carried for the future of the Empire. Never again, would he entrust his faith in the supposed ‘strength’ of the Sith, of the Inquisition. Although, it wasn’t like he even had in the first place.

Alexei knew firsthand that dueling one Jedi, between another two, would have more than likely meant his end if one of the Sith were to fall. And given said assumptions, he was hardly surprised to catch the other Sith to cave in to his opponent’s attacks via both his comlink and out from the corner of his eye, leaving him open to the Jedi’s inevitable advance. What actually dismayed him, however, was the advance of the other Jedi, having slipped away from the blind Priestess. And in seconds, he would become a roasted sandwich. In moments, he would lose this battle. In moments, he would lose everything.

But, losing has never been his forte. If he were to win against two foes, he would have to take out both at the same exact time. So with his right hand, which had been left free in case of situations such as these, he took hold of one of his sonic detonators placed behind him and out of view of both Jedi, and as they slipped deep into its range, let it detonate once it left his fingertips. By the time the other Jedi (@Undine) made her prolonged leap forward in her cumbersome medium armor, likewise hindered by his continued shots from his J0-LT stun blaster and distanced by his repulsorboots, the sonic blast would rip through the air and slam into her within milliseconds. As for the latter Jedi, who had just came six meters within range? She would likewise collapse to the crippling frequency in the split of a second as well.

Given both Jedi were too focused on either separate tasks, be it advancing forward or dealing with outward attacks, neither would notice the slender grenade in his hand, especially amid the dead of nightfall. And by the time they did, it would be too late. No force grab, no valid force barrier, no delicate aim of a blaster, no final desperate backward flip to slip out of range, could save them before they instantly caved in to the frequency, before in seconds after, succumb to unconsciousness.

Alexei, on the other hand? His integrated and already sequenced auditory modulators would have delivered him from the mind-racking frequency, and his armor would absorb the brunt of the nonfatal sonic blast. Moreover, as his repulsorboots had been activated and already managed to steer him away from both the Jedi and his own sonic grenade, he’d remain in near pristine condition. As for the other Sith, who also might get caught in the blast? Alexei didn't care. To him, the Sith were weak, and undeserving for his sympathy.

It seemed they were on equal footing now. One of their own had fallen in battle, and one of theirs had been killed. But the difference now between both teams was that it was two Jedi verses one Sith and an army general. Those were odds Ashlyn did not like. She'd never expected one of the Inquisition to fall, not around her. She would not become a prisoner. She would not let the Jedi scum take her back to their prisons.

Ashlyn was about to throw her plan into motion as the Jedi threw an EMP blast toward her partner, thus disabling any weapon he likely had in his arsenal. If he had a saber, and Force powers for that, she wouldn't be so worried. This fight wouldn't last much longer if both Jedi turned on her. Perhaps she would start thinking of an escape plan.

No! Sith do not escape. She would rather die than become a prisoner of war. No Sith worthy of honor would run from a fight. So that's what Ashlyn decided to do. She'd give it her all. Pushing out with the Force she would create a wall against Laana's grenade to try and hold it in place before it got close enough to her partner. The explosion would just miss him, thankfully preventing him from becoming utterly useless. But the same couldn't be said about Ashlyn. Using the Force so frequently was starting to take a toll on her. It had been awhile since she was in open combat like this.

What came next was a betrayal she did not expect. The general threw one of his own grenades at the two Jedi, but didn't take into consideration how far away Ashlyn was. His sonic explosion would crippled the lot of them for sure. Ashlyn's ears rang and she fell to her knees trying to push it out; they were already super sensitive due to them accommodating for her lack of sight. The concussive waves, however, would feel to her no stranger than a strong wind. Still, the ringing in her head made her dizzy and her body seemed to shut down despite her efforts to stay conscious.

The Confessor slumped forward and fell onto her side as she felt the world of slumber stealing her away from battle. She never though her own teammate would be so reckless. In a way she was proud of him. His efforts would likely end this little battle. Only time would tell. Who would win when she woke up?

As she made her way forward, she noticed the priestess momentarily stopped to focus on something in the air. Likely the EMP grenade, which would be an issue. Even if it wasn't the grenade, she wouldn't provide the woman with enough time to focus on it for more than another fraction of a second. She may not have even been able to reach it with the force in time. Whipping her arm up, she fired her three remaining shots from her blaster, so if the woman did not want to die on the spot from the bullet wounds, she would have to break her attention from the grenade, and move. Either way, her connection to the force would be severed. If she was shot, there was no way she could hold her focus.

Lanna dropped her empty firearm mid-sprint, and extended her left arm to twist the force at the woman's ankles. If she wasn't already falling, she was now. Then, in a split second, she held her light saber up in defense simultaneously as she grabbed her second sunspear pistol, and shot at the woman's hip, just for good measure.

"I suggest you let me put the stun cuffs on you. Cooperate now, or I will not hesitate to cut you down."

A grenade blast went off from behind, just as another sounded in front of her. The ear splitting sound roaring all around her and vibrating within her bones instantly sent the large Jedi to her knees. She didn't even have time to notice her electro-whip had mysteriously died as she raised her lightsaber towards the imperial general, attempting to divine some form of method of identification before she felt the cold metal of the ground hit her face. With one last thought of Lanna's safety, her mind slipped from her and her eyes faded into darkness as she fell unconscious.

ictory. It was at hand. With the other Sith having successfully stopped the EMP, despite outside attacks, Alexei would watch with the utmost pleasure as the Horansi collapsed into the ground, desperate to escape but unable. Even as she reached hopelessly out with her saber, the General stares down to her with a vile grin plastered across his lips. Pride swells up within. While his sonic grenade had likewise sent his own ally crashing into the ground, still alive but wounded and unconscious, Alexei didn’t mind. His attack now granted him the victory he had sought for so long.

But, he catches her: the third, foremost Jedi. The one he had chosen not to use his grenade launcher against. The one who his accompanying Inquisitor had failed to kill. The one who now stands, unaffected and untouched, with her lightsaber drawn and eyes burning. In that instant, his delight sinks into dread. Cynical, hollow dread. She had just barely steered free from the crippling noise of his grenade, and thus remains as resolute as before.

His left eye twitches. Now alone, ammunition low, armor blemished by the sonic vibrations, and strength drained— he knows he would be no match for the Jedi, and the likely chance of another EMP blast, this time impossible to ward off. His victory would slip out between his fingers. He would be captured, tortured, interrogated, executed before the Jedi Order, leaving his schemes to rot and die with him. Like Serenno, he would lose the battle. Lose the planet. Except this time, there would be no escape once he fell into the Jedi’s clutches. Death was certain.

However, it wasn’t certain if he chose not to face the Jedi now. He could wriggle away now as she stood distracted over the other Sith, and take the girl. Not just any ordinary girl— but if what she had implied was true, she would be the daughter of Darth Vanus: the torch of Ithor, the Dark Lord of the Sith. If in his custody and in his control, he could use her for his own deliberating schemes. She could mean the true rebirth of the Empire.

Scoffing, he darts from his position with his repulsorboots, head low so as to avoid any shots, and makes a move for the Jedi Initiate. With her body still settled near the door (as the detonators had blown behind her, throwing her closer to where he had first exited), Alexei was quick to pick her up and take her into the compound, now swarming with skirmishing rebels and Imperial troopers alike. Not that he cared. Through the fray, he would escape to his own personal shuttle, then abandon this godforsaken world. He would leave the two Sith two their fates, and if the Emperor were to question his involvement— they would be his scapegoat. “The Sith failed me,” he would say. “They fell in battle, leaving me outnumbered and outmatched,” he would claim. Lies, perhaps, but necessary lies.

Regardless, this battle didn’t matter. Urce didn’t matter. Ithor didn’t matter. This girl, however— this girl means more than any some charred planet worth only as a symbol to the Empire. With her, Alexei could compensate for his loss. He could compensate the Empire.
