They abandoned us.
Left us to die.
We sent hundreds of pleas.
Emergency messages were sent.
But nothing.
They expected us to die off.
But we have survived.
The Spirit guided us.
And it will crush our enemies.

History

The exact time we arrived on Leritor has been lost to History. All we know is the Republic sent us here. We arrived, and then nothing. They abandoned us for years and years. We were a thriving community though. We all were just practically farmers, with wives and kids. Most of us were human, but you had some others species here and there. The Republic sent supply craft every few months, but they soon stopped coming at all. News from the rest of the Galaxy took months to reach us, and the torrential rains made it hard for signals to reach out to the rest of the Worlds. But we didn't mind. After all, we were a farming community. We didn't need supplies from the Core Worlds to survive.

Then, they came.

They were water creatures. Crustaceans. Large, crab-like animals that were primitive. They were not advanced as one would think. Technologically hindered, they did not speak basic or anything beyond there own speech. They came to be known as the Sauvax. They lived in small, primitive villages along the shores of Leritor, and for a while, they did not bother us for the longest time. Soon though, there numbers greatly went against ours. They branched out more and more, eventually crowding our lakes and seas. Soon, they began coming inland.

Being Farmers, we gave them natural respect. We would not war over land. We were not barbarians. But soon, the Sauvax started to edge closer and closer to our main Capital. We had a loose government, a Confederacy if you would. All of our Cities had a say in decisions, and they debated and voted on key issues that were raised. Most had privileges of their own, but they were all bound together. The Sauvax was seen as a large problem, as they seemed to be threatening our very life. And soon, that became a reality.

We called it "The Scourging". The Sauvax, attacking in huge numbers, came upon our cities and small villages. They had no care for our people, and attacked with consciousness. The cities organized a meeting at the main Capital, a city called New Nellisa. The Sauvax, not wanting us to Counter-attack, attacked the city with all its might. Several hundreds of their tribal soldiers attacked us and started to massacre the citizens.

However, a Savior came to our aid. A young man, whose name has since become lost, banded together with the Colonial Guard and counter-attacked the tribal beasts. He used abilities unlike ever seen before. With the sleight of his hand, he could lift objects with his mind and hurl them at the Sauvax. He could pick up dozens of the creatures and hurl them away, all the while firing his slug thrower. He was a Leader. A Guide. And he ushered in a new era of War and Order.

He declared himself the leader of the Confederacy after the counter attacks, and nobody argued. He called his abilities, the "Spirit", and said it was a current of power that flowed through all objects of life. He had studied it for many years, and knew how to augment it through technology. He said it was impossible for us to be taught how to use the Spirit. Only augmenting our bodies through machines could help us wield this terrible power. Launching attacks against the Sauvax, all the while creating machines and armors for our soldiers, we beat back the Sauvax, pushing them midway throughout the continent.

During the war, the Savior became a Religious leader throughout the community. He molded our society, and we became independent on machines and technology. He said that we could gain Unity through Technology. Soon, our Nation grew, and we became stronger. Our military was trained harder and better, and soon, the Savior turned us into a Warrior nation. The war we had endured with the Sauvax made us strong, and our warriors benefited from fighting the tribal beasts.

The Savior eventually passed on, but his ideas and thoughts lived on through the people. We then formed the Antarean Imperium, and branched out further onto the Continent. We wrenched away more control from the Sauvax, and rescued several towns and villages. We converted the townspeople and they followed us like drones. The war continues on with the Sauvax, but we wrestle control from them daily. No longer were we Farmers. We were warriors. Warriors infused with machine and power. We were to teach others our ideas and thoughts. Anyone that disagreed were to be punished. The Unity must spread. Without, we are sure to perish. The Imperium was led by one man, a Rezon Marius. He now solely holds the definite power of the Imperium.

Our goal now? To broaden our power. Branch out to other planets, and teach them the Way of Unity is through the "Spirit".
And whoever that stands in our way will be punished.
We cannot afford defeat.
The Universe must learn to embrace the Evolution of Man.

Brief Overview

Some people would call us religious, technological advanced zealots yearning for power. But we believe that to be a harsh misunderstanding. We are not Zealots looking for power. We are merely people who believe in Unity with Machines and we wish to spread this to other people, so that they may join.

That being said, our military is of the highest renown. Our soldiers go through rigorous training, where they are taught how to integrate themselves into their suits and how to use their weapons. Their bodies are also integrated into the suit, and the Spirit is pulled from within them and can be activated through whim. Through great technological advancements, the Spirit can be infused into weapons or actions. The Spirit can be used to push things, pick them up, pull them. It can be used to sense objects from afar, or speed up the users actions. There is a limit however. Depending on the Rank of the soldier, their Spirit is matched. A Captain can do much more then a Private can.

Again, their are only 5 basic Spirit powers a Imperial Soldier can use. Push, Pull, Speed, Sense and Jump. We realize the fanatical Jedi also use these abilities. But we are more attuned to them. As the Spirit can only use these abilities, we are far more trained in them then the regular average Jedi.

The suits we wear are not bulky, but rather light and small. Basic Body armor encompass our soldiers, and these armor is not at all a armor shell. It can help the wearer with damage, but it does not make them impervious to damage. That is where the Spirit abilities come in. And the weapons. Weapons always help.

The Imperium is cut down into two different branches. The Warkind Branch, and the Unity Branch. The Warkind branch is the military branch, dedicated currently to the destroying of all Sauvax attacks. The Warkind are held in high honor, as their actions protect the Imperium. The second branch, the Church, is dedicated to the spreading of the Spirit. They are the religious leaders for our faction, and they are the strongest when it comes to the Spirit.

The Imperium also have access to many powerful weapons, most of which will be revealed soon. We make sure our soldiers are well armed to meet any conflict. We are sure the Galaxy has much to throw at us. Come, join us. We have many missions that must be fulfilled.

Imperium Ranks

Warkind Ranks

Imperial Emperor: The Leader of the Imperium. He is the headmaster of all that goes on within the Imperium. He alone has absolute control of the military and the Imperial Church. Currently, this Rank is being held by Rekon Marius, who ascended to the throne through family blood. He is from the small city of Antare, and so renamed the Imperium to suit him. He practically has the Spirit flowing through him.

Imperial Commander: The right hand man of the Imperial Military. He has power of the soldiers and ranks below him. Only the Emperor can order him around. He is a powerful figure head of the Imperium and deserves much respect. He is very friendly with the Spirit, and can control it fluently.

Imperial Colonel: The Colonels are also very powerful in the Faction. They will usually guide the soldiers towards victory and are known to insight powerful wisdom to their soldiers. Their armor can be customized to their liking, and can be as advanced or large as they so would like. The Spirit comes very natural to them.

Imperial Captain: The first Officer Rank, to be a Captain is great honor. They too command the squads of Sergeants and Troops to where they need to go. They are most likely seen spearheading missions or fighting abroad for the Glory of the Unity. The Spirit is starting to come to full potential in these men.

Imperial Sergeants: Just above the Specialists, they are tasked with keeping the morale of the men up, and for taking over should the Captain die or be taken out of commission. To become a Sergeant means you did something noteworthy as a Specialist, and have since been elevated. They have grasped the full Spirit, and know how to utilize it.

Imperial Specialists: Only above grunts, Specialists are the main driving force for the Way. They have finished training, and know how to use the Spirit to their advantage, however, they are not yet fully grasping its power.

Trainees: Men that have just joined the Imperium and do not even have armor yet. They are not proficient in the Spirit at all, and need training to improve their combat efficiency. They are the lowest rank possible, only surpassing a civilian.

Unity Church

High Priest: The Commander is the greatest rank one can achieve in the Warkind Branch. Likewise, The High Priest is the highest rank one can achieve in the Church. Attuned to the Spirit even more then the Commander, every word they breathe is filled with the Spirit.

Cardinals: The Cardinals are the sub-leaders of the Church. Helping the High Priest out with various problems, they are very few Cardinals, as they have to possess a very attuned Spirit within themselves. Through the Spirit, they can achieve Miraculous things.

Overseer: Watching over the Scholars and the Acolytes with a certain zeal in their step, the Overseer's watch over the lower ranks and lead them in any diplomatic or religious affairs that are needed. Beginning to fully grasp the Spirit, they are powerful in their own right.

Scholar: After graduating from Acolyte, one must study the Spirit extensively. That is why the Scholar is called exactly that. This does not mean they do not attend to the battlefield though. There Spiritual powers are needed to defeat the Sauvax completely.

Acolyte: A beginner in the world of the Spirit, the Acolyte is an Imperialist that seeks to deviate off of military and try out more spiritual tuning. Learning the ways of the Spirit is difficult, but with help and missions, they can rise through the ranks.

Armor

AFF___Imperial_Regular_v3_1_by_Knightwatch.jpg

Imperial Regular Armor- The traditional armor every soldier is set up with, the lightweight armor allows them maneuverability when under fire, and the ability to soak up small amounts of damage. It has a full, LED hud inside of the helmet, which highlights all squad mates and other items of interest. The suit is built integrated into the soldiers spine column, which connects to the nerves. This way, it can be controlled and use through the twitch of a muscle. The armor can be customized, as long as the soldiers ID can be seen.

e151450eaccc1c96ec2174e068f056c9.jpg

Imperial Assault Armor- This armor is more used when in heated conflict. The armor is more solid, and closed in, not allowing much speed. However, speed is traded in for more defense, as this suit allows the wearer to soak up more damage. The suit is again, integrated into the spinal column. The suit can also inject a small adrenaline solution into the bloodstream of the soldier, allowing them enhanced strength and awareness. The adrenaline drug will make them very skitzy though, and can cause hallucinations and other side-effects.

Stealth_Suit_by_Tysho.jpg

Imperial Infiltration Suit- The lightest of the armors, but also the least armored. With barely any defense added to it at all, the stealth suit allows the soldier to move at high speeds. The suit has also a complimentary stealth generator, that cloaks the soldier for a small amount of time. This generator is not perfect however. It can be affected by EMP, can be heard when turning on, and only lasts 2-3 minutes after activation. This suit is mostly used by assassins and spies.

Mecha
Note: Mecha are NOT to be used outside of NPC missions. The Mecha are an extra add-on for fun and are needed for certain missions. Any soldier caught using these outside of a NPC Mission are subject to removal.

http://th09.deviantart.net/fs4/300W/i/2004/221/b/f/M_22A_Cerberus_Assault_Mecha.jpg
Cerberus Light Mecha- The first Mecha built, these machines were the first machines that were used to beat back colossal Sauvax creatures. They are armed with a large Laser Rifle, which can be switched to automatic or semi. They are the most maneuverable, which small jets on their back, to allow quick movement.

http://th01.deviantart.net/fs4/300W/i/2004/186/4/2/M_14_Marduc_Assault_Mecha.jpg
Marduc Assault Mecha- The Marduc was created when the Cerberus could not hold back the advanced assaults the Sauvax put on the many cities of the Imperium. With more weapons, and added defense, the Marduc was the middle ground of many Mecha's. It had favorable defense and speed, along with a good offense. Armed with Dual 150mm Dual Slug Throwers, and one 175mm Slug Rifle, they are a force to be reckoned with.

http://th03.deviantart.net/fs4/300W/i/2004/221/b/f/M_18G_Juggernaut_Assault_Mecha.jpg
Juggernaut Siege Mecha- The strongest, largest, and most powerful Mecha available. These brutal machines are armed with a single Plasma Diode Siege Gun. They have the greatest Defense of all the Mecha' and have have a powerful weapon to boot. However, there speed is at a critical loss. Thus, the Juggernaut is usually dropped by a drop ship into the situation.

Weapons

http://th03.deviantart.net/fs25/300W/i/2008/065/5/9/Ryas_XP_556_High_Power_Pistol_by_PGT.jpg
C-38 "Bulldog"- The Bulldog is the back up pistol used for soldiers. It has little serious damage to it, but a large clip of about 13 rounds. It should only be used when needed. Fires slugs at a normal speed.

http://fc01.deviantart.net/fs46/f/2009/243/1/0/UIAC_MAR_70_IOB_Rifle_by_Coonass.jpg
CM-22 "Reaper" Assault Rifle- The Reaper is a high powered slug thrower that is the usual arm of basic soldiers. Lightweight, Tactical, and stylish in every way, the Reaper has a low rate of fire, with 60 rounds per magazine. However, its damage is more then enough to make up for it.. Semi-Automatic only.

http://fc08.deviantart.net/fs42/i/2009/080/f/0/SIAC_MBR_128_Pulse_Rifle_by_Coonass.jpg
SGA-P "Glow Stick" Pulse Rifle- While most of the AI use slug throwers as their usual weapons, this particular weapon is geared more towards those that like their blasters. A fully Automatic blaster Rifle, it has a high rate of fire, but a low damage rate. Sporting a full blaster pack, many soldiers opt to use this instead of the Reaper.

http://fc06.deviantart.net/fs25/f/2009/244/2/a/NIAC_MSR_72_Sniper_Rifle_by_Coonass.jpg
NSA "Ironbringer" Sniper Rifle- The Ironbringer is a much needed weapon in the AI. A semi-automatic Sniper Rifle, it can collapse or be extended, for easy storage and containment. With an extensible stock and collapsible support rail, the Rifle can be customized just for the killer in mind.

http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs23/f/2009/244/b/6/NIAC_MR_67_Light_Machinegun_by_Coonass.jpg
TMC-28C "Shredder" Light Slug Thrower- The light slug thrower is a small gun that spews slug out at an enormous rate. The slugs are actually smaller then others, but the fact that their are hundreds of them, makes up for that fact. Being light weight, and collapsible, the LST is useful for surprising the enemy and ambushing them.

http://fc00.deviantart.net/fs26/f/2009/243/2/0/NIAC_MS_68_Combat_Shotgun_by_Coonass.jpg
L33T "Gibbylator" Slug Spewer- This gun is reveled as a first of its kind by many. Using a small shell instead of actual slugs, this gun can fire multiple slugs at a person, firing them off at random, high velocities. Very dangerous in close-combat, but not so much at far range.

http://fc03.deviantart.net/fs25/f/2009/243/5/7/SIAC_MSPW_11_Flame_Thrower_by_Coonass.jpg
MPW-2 "Torch" Flame Thrower- Early on the the Sauvax Conflict, the Sauvax were known to hide out in small ditches and then surprise or ambush the enemy. Then, the Torch was developed. A gun that spews forth flames at a high rate, its useful for clearing out ditches, rooms, and anything else that makes it hard to retreat.

http://fc02.deviantart.net/fs16/f/2007/127/7/4/FTF_FIN_ZGWX_1_by_Nospai.jpg
EZG-T "Zero Grav" Launcher- The Sauvax wear tight, hard shells that protect them from immediate harm. Even slugs and lasers have a hard time penetrating it. Or scientists then came up with this. This gun can increase the gravity of something, crushing it, or lessen it, making it float out into the air. This is a very experimental gun however, and discharge is very common. NOTE:Only usable during missions.

So far, no issues. It's smells afwully similar to that Zialan Sodality thingy.

How many members does this faction have?

No, Don't worry, I wasn't even affiliated with them. These guys are more or less just religious fanatics with light suits that are integrated into them.

Right now, one. Me. >> <<
Hopefully, people will get to reading this and will sign up, once the Recruitment post is up. Hopefully.
If I get nothing in the next week, you can tear it down. :CCry2:

Awfully similar? Yeah right. It looks like he looked at what Storm wrote and copy-pasted almost all of it. The idea of religious zealots like templars. The whole savior and living on an abandoned planet as farmers... this is the Sodality all over again. Except with a pic that stretches the page.

No, I don't have pictures of large Space Marines waving large bolters around.

That, and the soldiers don't have three shells of armor. :CStern:

Ive been writing this up for a few days now, long before I even knew the Zialan even existed. I'm not even basing this off of 40k at all. And If I was, I'd say they more represent the Tau then the Space Marines.

At the moment, realistically...that's the least of my concerns. Most factions don't start off having a whole planet to themselves, and your post count makes me want to disallow such a large faction.

I'll wait and see what the member interest is, as well as the equipment write-up, before I make that decision, however. I don't exactly want to jump the gun.

In all fairness, if he wants to make a faction that copies the concept and backstory of another, it's not exactly like we've got a rule stating he can't. It's just not exactly recommended if you want to be taken seriously, I suppose.

Please stay out of this and let Boli handle it. I'm sorry but the odds of you actually being any help here are slim to none.

If you'd like, I can cut out the whole planet thing and say they only have conquered half the continent or something. Up to you, oh wise Moderator.
And I know my post count is rather slim. :CCry2:

*shrugs* Just make it so the conflict with the Sauvax is still ongoing. I'd say make it so the planet is about 60-40% yours.

Alright, edited it.
Now that I think of it, that would definitely help with more missions. Thank you Mr. Ranger. :CHappy:

Hoping some people take a liking to this idea.

It would also be interesting, because at the beggining of the faction you could have them be more isolationist to deal with the sauvax. Once I see the gear and what not, all the tech and the like I might be interested in this group. I'll keep an eye on it for updates.

Updated the Armors.
I have to leave today, and will be gone most of the day. When I get back, I'll finish up on the weapons.
Note: All of the armors have "Modules", small little tools that can used to benefit the wearer. I have yet to put these modules in however.

Glad to see some interest. :CHappy:

Updated again! Put in some extra goodies. :P
Working on weaponry now. This'll take a while. : /

EditEDIT: Updated the Weaponry. Still not done with Weaponry! Melee Weapons will be started very soon. I dropped the Grenade Launcher and the HMG. Melee weapons are a must. :)

More equipment will be added as time goes on.

I am curious. The whole military only ranks is a bit odd though. Would it not be wise to have some other ranks? Even the Covenant in Halo had ranks that, while serving as soldiers, were other than simply soldiers (a good example would be the Arbiter, who was supposed to be an intergalactic judge who would do whatever it took to obtain "justice".)

I would agree with fallen, a large background of the story is religion. Perhaps add more facets to this ideal, no?

Just my two cents though.
