The Amanee
Thread Prefix: Fanon
Name:
Amanee (Ah-Mah-Ny)
Biology:
The Amanee are average sized medium furred humanoid aliens with a greyish blue to dark purple pigment, along with having a fur covering their entire body they have a different coloured much longer fur on their head which acts as hair, the age at the same rate as humans throughout most of their lives until they’re about 50 when there aging begins to slow down, a healthy could live to about 200 at the most but it’s note worthy that at around the age of 50 they lose the ability to reproduce. Around the age of 13-16 individuals will experience many bodily changes through an easier capability to create muscle mass, darker skin and the early stages of horns. Over time an Amanee usually has one of two things happen involving horns depending on an important variable. The Amanee have a chemical equivalent to testosterone which is generated through actions which are considered more manly in our eyes such as combat, this chemical creates changes in The Amanee’s body such as increasing horn length, reddening of the iris and increased size. Meanwhile, the opposite is true as well for a lack of sed chemical has side effects as well being instead of increased horn growth horns grow to a short length but instead spirt out into new horns the time between sets varies along with this the pigment in their eye fades more to green rather then red. these two different lifestyles define the gender of sorts among the species, high amounts of the chemical mean you’re a Dominant if you don’t you’re a passive, throughout most of a Amanee’s life they will change genders many times. Along with this some other notable feature of the Amanee would be there four fingers and six toes, more jagged canine teeth and the ability to create muscle with a lot less exercise then humans. Amanee have an average height of about 5'8-7'
Breeding:
Unlike many other species in the galaxy The are hermaphroditic (Both sex parts) and only have one gender which uses female pronouns. The Amanee have a unique function where during intercourse they are able to subconsciously decided weather they want to have a child or not and it will or will not happen, therefore throughout most of their history it is socially acceptable to preform intercourse with another individual before being betrothed as long as it’s in then intent to not have child, only once you are betrothed it’s okay to have children. This is a custom for within their society it’s expected that your partner should be well suited in let’s say more ways then one. One thing that all Amanee do once they are of age they decided amongst themselves weather or not they prefer playing the male, female or either in a relationship and it’s quite common for partners to simply take turns. Amanee are betrothed for life but making sure sed individual is right for you usually requires a long amount of time being together, it’s customary for rather then anybody getting onto a knee they just decided amongst each other when the think it’s time, a subliminal custom is a trial which truly tests their love and devotion for one another. Amanee are usually born very frail and in groups carrying from 1 to 4, it’s common place that parents will take turns carrying young if they plan to have more then one batch. Unlike most other mammal like create in the galaxy The Amanee do not produce milk, rather most of a baby’s food is received through regurgitation into its mouth, thankfully for the parents baby Amanee grow teeth very quickly making so they can break down food much easier, they grow to the point where they can be used at around 2 months following a teething period where baby Amanee have a tendency to chew on everything. Unfortunately so far Amanee have only been found to be able to reproduce with other .
Strengths:
The Amanee are stereotyped as being big dumb brutes, this isn’t false but they have other attributes as well. For one, yes The Amanee are strong but it’s more complex, The Amanee have a incredibly high metabolism meaning they burn through food really quickly and are almost constantly hungry, no matter what any Amanee has a pantry stocked full of foods, this high metabolism makes obesity inexistent within their race due to the fact there body burns fats like crazy. Along with this The Amanee have a philosophy based around looking out for others, throughout the galaxy they are know for their friendly behaviour and willingness to help those who need it, it isn’t uncommon for an Amanee family to welcome strangers of the street without a home to give home food or a place to stay, it’s just part of the Amanee custom. The Amanee are also well know for their beautiful voices and amazing songs and poetry. Within the race force sensitivity is reasonably high and it isn’t uncommon to happen, the species takes much pride in their connection to the force.
Weaknesses:
Their high metabolism mentioned earlier isn’t all fun though because of it an average Amanee sleeps for about 16/24 hours of the day if they could, in Amanee culture it’s not rude at all to just fall asleep in the middle of a conversation or encounter. Another big problem is throughout a majority of their lives (it calms down at around 60-70) The Amanee are prone to mood swings which lead to deadly berserks, these are usually triggered by incredible anger and usually do more harm then good. Finally The Amanee although they have many scholars aren’t usually that smart, they tend to not make obvious connections and can be very stubborn at times.
Diet:
The Amanee are big time carnivores, during the species tribal days they’d never stay in one place and constantly be following the animals the roamed the plains of the world forming a diet of only meat, the Amanee are able to eat plants but it immediately gets broken down giving no nutritional value.
Behaviour/Temperament:
As mentioned earlier the Amanee are a very caring friendly species that have a focus around family, but also as mentioned before besides their caring nature they do have a tendency to have mood swings. Nonetheless despite their mood swings yet all around friendly behaviour that does not hide the fact that they are a warrior race and at times can be territorial if it threatens those that care about them.
Communication:
The Amanee speak in a dialect unique to their world called “Bolma”, back in the day it was the only language spoken but around the time the civil war began basic was becoming almost just as spoken, as the video implies the language is incredibly similar to Nepali (Keep in mind the video is just to get an idea, it’s defiantly completely different language wise) the part of the video where the speaker is talking in english is a good example of the accent they’d have when speaking basic.
[Link] Good example of a Amaneeian common accent as well as what Bolma sounds like.
Culture:
Amanee culture is above all deeply rooted in the idea that everything alive is worth a chance and that everything alive should be cherished, for thousands of years they’ve worshiped countless deities representing every animal they encountered on their world, usually each family worships three in particular depending on what there values are, along with three deities they also always worship a great being know as Vun’shi a being that is one part all living things and is another part portrayed through the great salt flat that covers a large majority of the world, as mentioned on the planet sheet the salt flat holds much cultural importance to them through it being portrayed as the eye of nature and life itself. When there was a large Amanee population on Amana it was very common to go on pilgrimages to the flats to simply meditate or relax, this being on of their only calm and relaxing cultural traditions, throughout the months of the Amanee calendar they have various celebrations be it a new year, harvest moon or a celebration for your families deity or deities, The Amanee are quite the partiers many of their get together being weeks long and including a lot of food, dancing, bizarre customs and most importantly a lot alcohol.
History:
*Disclaimer: if you didn't listen to me earlier and check out Amana first here, the Amana thread has a more in depth look at the modern history of the species. I didn't feel the need to go in depth since it's already written there.* The history of The Amanee goes back a very long way, of species on the intergalactic stage they’re very new only gaining space travel about four hundred years ago, before that time the world consisted of various clans either wandering the open plains or ones that actually set up a home or village of sorts, during this period all of the clans were almost constantly at war with one another over territory and a clan didn’t last for much over 50 years usually until they were either killed or assimilated into another clan. this continued until about fifty years into after their intergalactic recognition, at which point they all agreed to live under one nation being their planet as a whole, in doing so making the largest city on the world Gafra the capital. The next 300 years were very peaceful as they slowly assimilated to the galactic community, this continued up until the great civil war which was expanded more on the Amana sheet but all you have to know is that almost all of The Amanee were exiled from Amana due to the travesties of what they’d done.
Planet:
The Amanee were originally from Amana but since the deportation the Amanee are a minority on their own world, instead they’ve found refuge living in tightly knit communities throughout the cosmos, some of the larger ones being on Dantoonie, Scipio, Ziost and Corellia as well as many other worlds.
Technology:
They’re about as technologically advanced as the majority of the galaxy, maybe slightly less advanced due to their low average wages making it harder to acquire more modern technology.
Intent: The intent of The Amanee species is meant for many things the main one which I’m most excited for is that for what I know there aren’t many if any single gender hermaphroditic mammalic sentient spices out there, it’s feels like a interesting, unique idea that has never really been played with before in the Star Wars universe before, along with this I believe their unique home world, culture and personality as a species will fit perfectly in our little role-play. if this species gets accepted I can’t wait to see where others take it because I tried to make this species in the age we’re in the closest thing to a blank slate I could muster.
Bloopers:
Early Concept for The Amanee This one appears to be a particularly masculine dominant with a rare condition which turns part of their furs white.
