[Mig Cabra]

Going to Kashyyyk was always Mig's favorite ever since Life Day. He had learned new songs, made many friends, and even won a Bowcaster. This was a place that he held dear to his heart. Both of his hearts. Now he had come to help build a permanent home here. It was exciting. Mig would not live alone of course, it would become a rebel base. They had a spot but it was not exactly welcoming. Apparently a spider had made its home here and they were considered to be one of the deadliest creatures on the planet.

"Ok friends! We just need to get rid of this spider! It's dangerous so be careful." Mig even said the last bit with his usual cheer.

Mig came fully loaded and ready for anything. An explosive weapon, the PIPE, was at his back alongside his powerful Bowcaster. Those would likely come in handy for dealing with this giant spider of death. Webs, traps, and poisons would all need to avoided as well but Mig hoped the others would be more suited for that.

The area in question was a large tree with many branches and already had a couple old platforms built on it. Rickety bridges still led to it from a small local village but none came out here to explore. Webs were everywhere and came to a large nest of sorts towards the top of the tree. It was a spooky area, not that Mig understood spooky. He found it fun.

[Jake2]

Jake was glade to be back on the jungle world of Kashyyyk home of the wookies to help them out. While it was to help both them and the Galactic Alliance out. There over all goal would see the Alliance get the chance to build a out post on the world. Expanding the fledgling resistance to even more worlds. The more spread out they where and the more allies they had the better.

His campions for this op where a two other Alliance solders. One Jake had worked with before and third new to him. The new person seemed strange. Jake was not sure why but figured it was the giant rocket launcher on his back that stood out the most. Though they where going against a rather larger target so maybe it would be needed.


"Hi, so I know it a large spider and all but is the rocket launcher needed to kill it? Not like we fighting a tank." Jake really hoped that they he was not about to be killed by friendly fire.

 

[Freyja Storm]

Freyja couldn't work out if it was the Galaxy, The Force or Hugo Ion that hated her the most being stuck on a mission for the Alliance with Mig and Jake. They both annoyed her more than she cared to admit, she would prefer to be back with her Valkyrie's doing something more important than helping the Gotal build a tree house on this Alien infested planet. She let out a long sigh as the Gotal began to speak, his voice the stuff of nightmares for the woman.

"Hopefully he can one shot the thing and we can all go home quickly." Freyja replied to the young kid's comment on the rocket launcher. Either that or he would blow himself up, now that would be lucky. Freyja herself was armed as usual, her custom blaster at her hip, vibrosword on her back and rifle over he shoulder, a few grenades sat at her hip encase things got a little dicey. She hoped this mission would be over quick and she could get out of here quick.

 

[Mig Cabra]

Mig ignored the comments about his explosive weapon. It was his favorite thing now. The Wookiees had told them these large spiders were not to be taken lightly. One making its home here had scared off the old inhabitants. The old inhabitants being Wookiees. Needless to say this was not going to be an easy hunt. The Gotal kept his eyes open for traps but the bridge was pretty much empty of any web or trap. That was good, but it maybe was too easy to get in. Why would the spider leave the path easy to walk? There had to be something worse ahead... or a plan. Mig was certain of it.

"It seems too easy. Friends, do you see the spider anywhere?" He asked as he scanned the tree and webs for any sign of it.

The bowcaster came out to his hand as he searched. He was not ready to use the PIPE yet but the bowcaster was strong by itself. If it showed up he wondered if this shot would even hurt it. Wookiees feared these spiders which was bad news for everyone else too. Mig was optimistic at least and figured his friends could help slay it.

[Jake2]

There where eyes, many eyes of beast watching the group from the shadows of treed but Jake was more focused on the bridge they where on. On hearing Mig mention how easy it was Jake had to agree. Where they not hunting some beast that was a great and deadly hunter that even Wookies showed great respect for. "I mean maybe there is nothing here and it bad intel. Or it left all ready. Though it is strange there is no webs or any thing here" Jake gave a glance through the forest but could see nothing through the shadows.

 

[Freyja Storm]

Freyja let the Gotal and the Kid go first, she would let the spider gorge on them first, perhaps slow it down before she killed it. Two wamp rats with one stone. She thought to herself as she stepped onto the bridge behind the two. She un-slung the rifle from her shoulder as she moved, not wanting to be caught unaware if the Spider dropped down from above them. The bridge they were crossing left them open to the sky through the canopy but only for part of the way. The great tree which would be the Gotal's new home branched wide around, Freyja could not deny that he had picked well when it came to it.

Movement up ahead stopped the Captain of the Valkyries in her tracks. She didn't say anything to her comrades letting them take a few more steps further ahead, to see if there really was movement. Another step and the bridge swayed beneath them, then the movement happened again. High up in the tree, she could not see a defined shape from this far away, but she guessed what it was. She had seen enough of its small cousins back in the Core to know a spider when she saw it. Looking around she could see hardly any webbing, then it clicked, looking at another bridge in the distance she spotted a large strand of web underneath the planks. "The bridge is part of the web. Its sensing us with ever step." She shouted to the two in front. "Its coming."

 

[Mig Cabra]

The Gotal was too focused on the trees to notice Freyja had stopped walking until she said something. Mig let out a quiet thinking noise as he glanced upwards just in time to see a massive spider coming down towards him. He panicked and backpedaled as hard as he could before falling onto his back. The bowcaster shook in his hands as he tried to aim it at the approaching menace.

"AAAAAAHHHH!!" He screamed in horror as he pulled the trigger, sending a powerful bolt for the spider's face.

Mig's shot hit, but it did not seem to really do anything. The spider shrugged it off but it did stop it from coming down to eat Mig for that moment. Perhaps the shot gave it pause to stop for a moment like a little punch to the chest. Nothing damaging just... annoying. The Gotal Engineer really began to wonder if he would need the PIPE for this spider. His bowcaster would either need to hit a vital spot or this group would need a new plan.

"Knock it off the bridge, friends!" Mig said as he realized it had paused momentarily in front of him.

[Jake2]

Jake was admiring the trees and eb and flow of life around him when nature decided to add them to the circle of life. The giant spider approach took him off guard but Mig's scream got his attention.


Jake was shocked at how a beast of that size could sneak so close to them. But still Jake drew his pistol. Mig staggered it with the shot from the mighty bow caster so Jake was able to fire 4 bolts from his quick draw blaster that slammed in to the beast. Most only seemed to do minor damge but one of Jake's bolts hit the beast in a eye. Juices exploded from it as the beast recoiled in pain.

 

[Freyja Storm]

Freyja shook her head slightly as the Gotal screamed, 'Why was she always stuck with such imbeciles.' She thought as she raised the blaster rifle to her shoulder. She let out a triple shot of blasts just after Jake, aiming for the beasts face, it seemed the most delicate of the creature and hopefully the rapid-fire would keep it at bay as Gotal decided if he wanted to use his Pipe or not. The beast reared up from the shots of Jake, causing Freyja's to hit harmlessly into its armoured torso. As it landed, it clicked its pincers loudly, whilst looking form left to right, after a moment another Spider appeared, it was smaller than the first but still larger than a speeder. "Shit, its mate," Freyja said from the back of the group.

 

[Mig Cabra]

The disgusting eye blast had done the job of making the creature turn away its attention from Mig. The Gotal used that opening to run away a bit further. A few meters of distance before it decided to start moving again. Then more movement came as a smaller spider appeared. He only remembered being told about one, and this might be a problem for them. Mig knew it had to be taken care of before the spiders overwhelmed them and flanked. He quickly swapped out his Bowcaster for the PIPE on his back. It was hero time.

"Heads up, friends! Going to blast that new spider!" He shouted while aiming the large rocket launcher at the enemy.

Mig had never used or practiced using this thing. He had simply acquired it for use against heavy targets and thought spiders were giant heavy targets. It was not as intuitive as he thought because apparently he had it pointed backwards. When the Gotal pulled the trigger it launched the rocket behind him and luckily not into Freyja. Instead it flew into the bridge about 30 meters back and eviscerated the rickety bridge. The broken bridge would fall into two pieces towards the forest floor with their other end still attached to the spiders' tree.

"AAAAAAAHHHHHHH!!!" Mig screamed as he managed to grab a plank just in time to avoid falling into the abyss.

The only silver lining, if there was one, was that it gave them temporary separation from the spiders. Mig managed to keep his weapons thanks to the strap around his back, but it would be hard to reach them while dangling from a rope a few meters below his targets. The spiders at the tree would be looking down at their prey now who would all be clinging for dear life to the broken bridge.

[Jake2]

Jake Fired again at the spider but his first hit had caused the spider to shift and all four of Jakes shots flew harmlessly off in to forest or bounced of the tick armour plating. Then it happened, the explosion. Mig it seemed failed to under stand on how a rocket launcher worked. The Walkway gave way as the rocket exploded and they fell. Jake was able to Grab a rope that used to be a railing and held on to it. The Spiders now looked at the three all most as confused as Jake was. Holstering his pistol Jake started his climb back up to the top to safety. "Mig who's side are you on, Ours or the spiders?"

 

[Freyja Storm]

Freyja had only taken a few steps forward since the spider appeared, which was now lucky. She watched as the Gotal placed the pipe on his shoulder, the wrong ending pointing at the Spider, the dangerous end pointing at her. Freyja had just enough time to duck as the missile shot from the back of the lump of metal, flying inches above her head. "For Frak..." She began to shout before the sound of the missile's explosion rocked through the area around the great tree. The shockwave of the blast pushed her to her knees, splinters of wood hit her on the back as the bridge beneath them began to fall away.

Luckily on her knee's Freyja was able to get a good handful of vines before it she became weightless in the fall. Being further down the bridge than the others, the whiplash she experienced when crashing into the trunk of the tree was double of those than her colleagues, an audible crack was heard as her ribs exploded with pain. The vine was wrapped around her wrist, the friction helping her grip otherwise she would have fallen to her death far below. Breathing deep hurt, stopping her from shooting up to the Gotal. "Mig, I hate you." Though she doubted he could hear so far above, the noise of the still-collapsing bridge segments bouncing off the lower branches filling the air.

Everyone had managed to hold on tight. Mig was happy to see he had not killed any of his friends. Not yet at least. Now that he realized the PIPE had fired backwards, he carefully reloaded it and pointed it the right direction. This time he would hit the Spider instead of the bridge. He hoped so at least. Now that they were hanging against the tree they could at least grab a branch if they fell. The Gotal took aim and fired straight up at the largest spider with a powerful rocket. This time it went the correct direction and collided with the spider's armored back.

"Woosh!" Mig mimicked the sound effect of the launch and watched with wonder as he hit his target.

The entire bridge shook with the explosion and seemed to weaken, but it did not fall. Mig estimated it needed less weight or else it would fall. Luckily, his shot caused the big spider to go flying off in another direction and fall into the abyss. If it wasn't dead, it would be when it hit the ground below. It would be time to celebrate later though once the second spider was gone and they were off this precarious bridge.

Mig slung the PIPE onto his back and pressed the activation button on his jump boots. The Gotal soared through the air and landed on a nearby branch of the tree with absolute grace. Something that he did not often show. Now he could be safely on his feet with the wide branch and not weight down that bridge. It would also make fighting the spider a bit easier than trying to hold on for dear life while fighting.

"Come on, friends! Find a branch!" He shouted.

[Jake2]

Haven climbed to safety Jake dew his blaster pistol again and set a barge of fire in to the larger spiders face. Three of Jakes four blaster bolts found a weak point as they hit the area around the eyes. The fourth shot was defused by the spiders natural armour. But it seem like the three bolts slamming in to the beasts eyes was lethal enough. The larger beast recoiled after each hit before wobbling on it legs and collapsing on the walk way.

Jake looked onto t the sight, two large spiders lay there on the walk way dead. though the walk way it self was destroyed thanks to Mig and his rockets "Mig , you see you don't need a giant rocket to kill a spider." Reloading Jake now looked down to Freyja "Do you need a hand getting up to?"

 

[Freyja Storm]

Freyja watched as the Gotal got the direction of the rocket launcher correct this time. Not only that but his arm wasn't half bad, the shot did not kill the creature outright but that explosion sent it flying into the undergrowth. Freyja had a weird feeling that the beast had survived, but it wouldn't be coming back for a long time. Hopefully, it would be when Freyja was long gone and the Gotal was building his little house all on his own. The creature could hopefully get some justice for the galaxy at large.

The climb up the broken rungs of the bridge was agonizing, the broken rib sending shooting pains through her body everytime she moved her right arm, her breath was short. It took her a while to reach the top being much further down than the others. By the time she reached the top, the little kid had finished off the secondary spider from the dead carcass a dozen meters away it appeared as if blaster bolt to the eye was the cause of death.

Freyja brushed the kid's hand away as she got to the top, she didn't need a hand, nor want one. Especially from that happy little Bantha. Pulling herself up to her feet, a lance of pain shooting through her body, she looked around the area was clear, at least as far as she could see and the budding senses of the force inside her could feel, it would be a perfect place for the Gotal to set up his little play house. Thinking of the Gotal she rounded on the Alien. Devil and Murder were in her eyes, every rung of that painful climb had built up her anger. She walked with fury towards the alien, raising her hand over her head ready to strike shouting "You flea-ridden walking carpet! I'm going to..."
