I've been throwing this idea around for some time now and would like an idea, thought or opinion if possible. I was thinking and eventually came up with a custom faction that can change the power dynamic.

The Faction will be called the Templar Order. Perhaps, I've been throwing some names around to see what fits and so on. If anyone has any ideas, please, relay them to me. They could also be called the Knights of [Home Planet Here].

The Templar Order will be Jedi/(Sith: Maybe) that revere the Force in a much different way then the Jedi or Sith. Whereas the Jedi see the Force as a gift and the Sith see it as a tool, the Templars see the Force as a powerful being that watches over the Universe. A Deity if you would.

Yes, there are several Jedi that feel this way already, I'm sure. Canon-Wise, there were quite a few that felt this way as well. The Templars are similar, but instead of using it as a gift, they literally worship the Force. They feel that a connection to the Deity is required and that further worship and praying is required to strengthen the Bond.

The Templar Order will have a Rank system much like the other Orders. It goes as the following:

Squires: Squires are trainees that have been taken by a Knight and are currently being trained. They have a slight connection to the Unifying Force and are being trained to use it.

Knights: Much like Jedi Knights, the Templar Knights are those that have passed their Squire training and are now Knights. They can train a Squire or two and have access to various abilities. The Knights can only access the next rank by training a Squire.

Chaplains: The Chaplains are equivalent to Masters and Lords. Having trained a Squire completely, the Chaplains have access to incredible power and have a strong connection to the Force. Chaplains are also required to tend to the Spiritual needs of the Force.

Grandmaster: There is only one Grandmaster of the Order and he controls the Order through the use of his Chaplains. However, he is not a Lord or King, only a strong member of the Chaplain order. Grandmasters are voted by the Chaplains.

I'm not exactly sure where the Templars would actually start planet-wise. They obviously would not have a lot of wealth, for obvious reasons. I'm currently writing up a character that will eventually create the Templars, if he and the faction is approved.

The Templars also do not believe in Midi-Cholorians or the Light Side/Dark Side. They believe that through patient worshiping and revere for the Force, you can be granted many powers and abilities.

I do not currently have any idea on what powers the Templars will have and currently am not worrying about it. I will speak with a Mod about this much later. The Templars will have a blend of Sith/Jedi powers from what I'm guessing/thinking.

And that's it thus far. Anyone interested? If I get enough people to give some interest, I will start writing up the stuff needed to do start the Application Process. I have a few more ideas, but would love some opinion/thoughts on it, even negative ones.

Thanks:D

At first look I honestly thought you were going for something like the Templars from AC. While you have the idea for them to effect the powers that be, I have to be brutally honest.

It won't happen. You have to carve out your own kinda territory, because the Admins don't have this set out in their plan. While yes, you could if very many people tried to get involved, its so very unlikely that it isn't worth trying.

A better idea would be to join the Imperial Knights, or maybe the Shade Order is anyone ever brings it up.

Sorry, a decent look see, but not worth attempting mate

Look at it this way. No one's calling it a bad idea.

Are there no independent Colonies/Outer Rim planets that can be claimed without a gross fight?

At any rate, if it doesn't fly, it doesn't. No hard feelings.
Both the Imperial Knights/Shade Order have nothing I'm looking for, but thanks.

There are plenty, it's just that majority of people will be focusing on Jedi, Sith, and the Imperial Knights, so a force faction isn't the best idea at this moment. Throw in the fact we have a character limit of 5, not many people are willing to put their eggs in a untested basket.

That said, if you want to try and put this faction together you need 3 people (including yourself), and a likely history.

Oh yeah, I know. Oh well, I won't bother with it then.
I have been thinking of a "Corporate" Guild though. That might be cool. A Business oriented faction which offers Mercenary Work, Bounty Work, etc.
Develops Ships, Arms, etc.

Hmmm...

There's been some good ones in the past. At one point there were 3 that combined and attempted to form a main faction, without the Admins approval.

It was....interesting :CSly

Hmmm, well then, I think I might work on that. :D
A Mega-Corporation that doubles as an Arms Dealer, Bounty Guild and Mercenary Workhouse.
Think that would go well and think I'd could get the amount of people needed?

And what could its name be?

Were you here when those Corporations like Icehart and stuff tried to join together and give a big F U?

It failed, died. So did my characters in each faction. :CCry1

Well, It'll be a bunch of Corporations that collected into a mega-corporation.

Should I re-Edit this post or what? Any ideas?

I'd say organize the history of the faction, give it a name, and a list of ranks.

Then if you wanted to, PM people you think would be good fits for certain positions.

There's nothing wrong with starting a force sensitive indy faction. If it is interesting enough, people will join it.

Jade Galactic sounds good.
I'll think on it and start writing some shtuff up.
Would it even have Ranks? Or just leadership spots?

If you make a JG esque faction, I will be morally obligated to kill you in your sleep. [Assuming Keanu doesn't beat me to the punch.]

That is all.
