Character Sheet

Green is the above. Hiding the light and the blue of the heavens a shadowy figure stalks its prey. Not a whisper of a footfall escaped the hunter's calculated steps as they moved deeper into the dark to get into position. Experienced hands clenched at the willow bow as it bent back slowly. Silvery strands of thread became taut, pinched ever so delicately. Held tight, but released in an instant. Eyes upon the mark, ears with the wind, feet firm upon the earth, a heartbeat. LUB DUB....LUB DUB.....LUB *THCK* DUB. In that fickle instant between beats the arrow flew ending any heartbeat its victim intended to have. When the hunter last looked upon her target she found her arrow lodged in it's right eye, a disappointment. She had aimed for the left.

It was no matter as the beast was slowly stripped of fur, organs, meats, everything. Life beget life either for the hunter or the flies and she had only ill will for them and their carrion ilk. A fire blazed as lazy smoke drifting into the sky proved a foil to the intrepid hunter who swiftly did their work. As they set to tanning, cutting, salting, and all the other tasks she must perform to live there was wonder beneath her sweating brow. A question that quivered underneath her calm hands.

Why?

It had been some time since time had escaped the young woman who now stared into a fire lightly nibbling at the meat she had rationed for the night. Kalia hadn't seen any example of life that hadn't been swiftly ended by her bow and as she ate and grew full and warm from their furs there was still an emptiness and a chill. Perhaps these woods were haunted after all.

She had heard the legends when she came to the village, before they came. They always came. Cursed woods, they said, filled with the echoes of shadows. It was a place of memory, but memory is not truth, it is warped perception and impression and the impression Kalia got was that this place did not want her here. This was unfortunate for one simple reason. She was lost.

Sense of direction senseless and trees jealously hiding the sun and stars stole time and reference as Kalia had fled into the depths of the wood. She had lost her pursuers, but all else as well. Her eyes lingered in the fire. Another mistake.

Smoke stole her smell as firelight made the darkness around her opaque. Relying on her pointed ears she was nearly too late in hearing the twigs lucky snap, a snap that might as easily been a jaw clamping upon her neck. Turning in time she was set upon by the beast of fang and claw who's acidic spit dripped upon her breast causing her to scream into the night. Throwing the beast off of her the hunter's eyes adjusted as she lifted her boy. Green eyes glinted off her fire. Not two, but four, then twenty. All of them pacing and hungry. Patient, but not for long. Releasing an arrow into the night she heard a howl of pain and then many padded feet slapping towards her. Ducking low she picked up a still burning log and began to spin it around her. Swiftly she revealed the monstrous beasts, their fur thick and black as if made of the night itself. Hemmed in by their dark maws and acidic spittle Kalia wondered if she looked upon demons.

Taking her log she placed it upon her bow lighting her arrow head as she ran to a nearby tree. Leaping she felt a bite upon her leg tear away at something. Pulling up Kalia was delighted to find only her cloth had been victim, but didn't stop to celebrate as she came to rest upon a low branch. Dropping her now extinguished log she drew her bow and aimed up. Firing into the night she hoped against hope someone had seen the shot and if they had perhaps they could save her, or they'd distract the beasts long enough for her to get away.

Whatever it took to survive.

Jaleer a Jedi knight, and right now a man angry with a growing feeling of stepping closer to a dangerous path where he might do something stupid. Why was this? His first padawan had left with several of his padawans old friends to find someone. Yet what happened was they fought whoever they were suppose to get, an just to top it all off, the sage was suppose to take care of his padawans sick mother. But the Jedi healer was caught off guard and now his padawans mother was dead.

How did it affects Jaleer's padawan? Well in the worse way possible the young man left the order abandoning the force as he felt the force had abandon him. Now Jaleer was here in this forest picking a random planet, and learned about the darkness that recide in these woods. Whether true or not did not matter for the Jedi only the chance to leave the larger galaxy and give him some time to reflect and heal. Even the Jedi healer wasn't able to heal the wound in his heart as he imagine his ex padawan cursing, Jaleer's name.

The sage wondered the woods like a predator something completely different than his usual persona, the calm and easy going Jedi was replaced with a angry and hurt man who right now could not be called a Jedi. The woods were dark and cold, yet it didn't bother him at all, the sage could use the force to keep himself warm an his senses were not hindered by the dark. The force was able to tell him what he needed to know even if the pain blinded him right now.

Jaleer was lost in his own world when he felt the scream, it cut right throw the Jedi as he walked the woods. Shaking himself out of his own nightmare he ran off to find the source of the scream. Jumping up into the trees, letting the situation clear his mind, as it allowed the sage to think clearly. If it was a fight he would need to figure out what was happening and not get shot at right away, if it was something complicated as that. Yet with the forest was full of life it was hard to sense just one area with thousands of others called for his attention with emotions everywhere in these woods. From the small creatures fear, to the predators angry, and hunger it made his head hurt just a little.

Hopping form on branch to another the sage would use his hand and feet to keep himself up in the trees, until he reached the spot of where the scene was. Looking down he felt a woman and several large creatures all hungry, which quiet freaky was really creepy. It was something which wasn't very hard for Jaleer to work with though, beasts were easier to predict than people. Which meant that the sage could just focus on saving the woman rather than killing living beings.

Jaleer had all but forgotten his past grievances as he forced himself to focus solely on the situation at hand, something he was good at doing, but didn't change the fact he still felt the raw pain of hurt and guilt.

Though his eyes were not as accustom to the darkness the force as his ally allowed him to keep track of everything below him. Deciding it was best to tell the woman of his presence, the fire giving her some features to look at. (@The Duke hey man can I have a link to the characters profile so I know what she looks like and stuff?)

"Hey stay calm I am going to help you out of this, for right now just don't move. Its alright." Jaleer tried to should as come and compassionate as possible.

Before he reached out into the very fabric of reality using the force to allow him to reach down and take a hold of the woman, with great strain. The sage would rap around his torso a invisible rope which, the sage used to pull her up. His eyes were closed and he used his arms were stuck out like they were carrying a great way, Jaleer began to sweat from the strain he was under. If She did not move or the cats didn't bother him, than the sage would be able to take the girl up on the branch next to him on the other side of the tree.

OOC: Sorry for the wait I had a long week

A heavy pant, a flick of sweat, eyes darting firing a thousand neurons all trying to think and act and plan. All within a single moment, a grain of sand in the vast infinite meaningless void. Kalia found the moment poetic, but alas could not wax as her chances of life waned. Clawing without claws, flying without wings, hoping without hope she ascends simply so that she may not fall. She should have known her fall would only grow as she climbed.

Hot hungry breath touched upon the woman's back as she felt poison spittle hiss as it touched the bark around her. Kalia thought herself spared until she suddenly felt the acid dig into her flesh. Screaming anew her eyes clenched. She felt a beast bite into her leg, but with a quick kick she had it off her before it could do too much damage. Opening her eyes slowly the girl wondered if she saw a creature of light ready to take her away, but as Kalia's night vision returned she saw only a mundane figure of mortality.

Listening to his instructions, Kalia processed the words, but was rather busy going through agony to truly grasp their importance. She felt something pulling upon her a true and literal force. For years Kalia had been guided by the wind, but it was merely a whisperer leading her slowly than subterfuge of the soul. This force was unlike any she had experienced as she began to float in midair, something that confused the beasts below for a few moments before they took it as a personal challenge. Leaping and biting, but never quite in reach, Kalia felt herself slowly rise to the trees above. Her breathing controlled the hunter closed her eyes and allowed herself time to breath trusting in this strange....force.

Unfortunately her calm was her downfall as the alpha male arrived and with a mighty leap bounded toward Kalia's exposed leg. Eyes open and aware the hunter would have easily dodged this vicious strike, but lost in serenity Kalia soon found herself in agony as the beast clamped hard scratching her with vicious claws. Shaking to get him off and simply in pure torturous pain, Kalia found the force slip from her waist and soon she was falling. Such a dramatic moment might be better witnessed as a slow descent, but damned if gravity wasn't uncooperative. Falling fast and hitting hard Kalia had but a moment before the pack began to rush towards her. Breathing in swiftly she said a few words in a language carried off by the winds and summoning her instinct she took her bow and drew an arrow in an instant plowing it into the alpha's head as it continued to gnaw on her leg.

A yelp ended the long reign of the alpha as he slumped off Kalia's bloody limb. There was a pause in the charge. Long enough to draw an arrow for one final strike or perhaps to make a prayer. Kalia chose the arrow, the gods had never answered her before. Preparing to fire. Preparing to die. Kalia aimed true.

OOC: sorry if it's a bad post

The sage was sadden to see that the girl was in pain, which made it all the more difficult the seriousness of the situation continue to pull her up. The sage felt the beast below them the anger and hungry was kind of getting to Jaleer. Yet remembering his Jedi training the sage manage to block out the feeling he got through the force.

Yet he should have known better than to just pick the girl straight up while the beast tasted blood. As soon as the alpha bite into the girls leg the sage lost his grip on her. Dropping her to the ground, looking down and feeling the beast surround the girl, it has become a matter of her live over the animals.

Having to pick quickly the sage jumped off the branch grabbing his lightsaber and heavy blaster pistol. Allowing the force to flow through him and give his body new found strength the sage landed in front of the woman hopefully she would have the discipline not to shot. The sage would fire two rounds into the surrounding beasts. Though it was blind fire the sage had let the force take control, an would injury not kill. A small smile, appeared on his face, as he felt a new calm wash over him.

Almost like he was in the temple meditating an everyone that was connected through the force would feel the subtle calm and tranquility the older Jedi was emanating. The sage knew only a mind in peace would allow him to let the force guide him.

The green blade would come out of the silver hilt in the sages left hand ready to cut into the beasts that threaten to kill them.

"Listen just stay behind me if things go bad run, I knew your leg is hurt. But I will do better knowing I don't have to guard someone, if it's possible climb up the tree, I will cover you." It would hopefully work like that, the girl would be able to use that bow of hers more effectively as long as she doesn't have to watch out for a big cat to her left.

"Now come on guys I rather not have to use force on you all." Even if they are just beasts the sage cared for all life even these mindless beasts have rights.

OOC: It's good, sorry for taking so long

In throes of death Kalia had heard many whisper of long plains beyond the eyes. A horizon that could not be gripped by even the truest sight. Yet she saw none of those things. That retched bite burned upon her leg scrunching her eyes causing her to gnaw on her lip in anguish until she tasted blood. Unrelenting the fiends came upon her as time slowed to a crawl. Kalia thought of crawling then, a desperate pointless gambit. A showing that she did all she could to survive. For a brevity she thought she saw the darkness of death descended upon her as a figure slammed upon the forest floor, but staying her shot she saw it was the one who had come upon her before.

Releasing the tension in her bow, Kalia turned to the tension in the air as the dull hum of the glowing blade matched the low growls of the beasts whose numbers only grew with their hunger. Seeing the legion of eyes grow from the brush, the elf thought they must be truly famished. For a moment she took time to notice the man was calm in this moment, meditative, and reflective. She heard his instructions come forth as precise and forthright as her arrows and that was a truly fine compliemnt for them.

Slowly coming to her feet the huntress steadied herself upon a tree as the beasts tested the bloody waters ahead of their much-desired kill. She heard his threatening words and the jeering roars and snaps that came in reply. They would not be dissuaded by the badinage of language, they were below that or perhaps above it, she knew not the difference between nobility and savagery. It seemed to end in bloodshed all the same.

Pressing her injured leg to the tree, Kalia steadied herself holding her breath as she prepared a shot. Every quiver of her hand was treason against the perfect desitny this shot must have. Her teeth were gritted as her well worn hands at last came together in perfect allignment with the wind and the curve of the world. A singular moment of release as the trapped air in her lungs escaped with the arrow from her bow. A moments doubt was replaced with elation as she heard the tell-tale cry, she'd hit her mark.

While the beasts paid no heed to the loss of their alpha, Kalia soon recognized a larger beast among them, a matron. This mother of the pack was now upon her knees her thick green blood oozing upon the stained earth. Instead of compassion or aid, the other females attacked that which had given them life, care, and guidance. As they were taught from birth they struck when their prey was weakest. Had the pack mother lived long enough, she might have felt some perverse satisfaction. Kalia only felt bewilderment and not lost to the opportunity she tapped the shoulder of the warrior and slowly began to edge further into the trees. It would not be long before the pack turned their attentions away from the fight of the females and Kalia intended to be long gone by then.

(OOC: No problem.)

Jaleer was surprised it felt like he was going to be charged at any moment, though he had the advantage of a weapon the numbers of the beast made it nearly impossible for him to survive. Yet that wasn't his purpose he was only to save the girl that was behind him, ready he was allowing the force to guide his hand and ready him for something, telling him to keep still for some reason. An when the arrow flow past him, Jaleer knew he was rewarded for the trust he had with the force, looking back to the injured female he sensed the opportunity to run. The force had given them a chance an the sage was going to take it.

Looking at the pack he notice a small group of the animals fighting each other, and it seemed to have gotten the attention of the rest of the pack, which was what they really needed thinking that a full out sprint with the force is the only truly option considering what he saw. What looked like to be a acidic like substance that the female hunter was hit with. Which he would have to heal later but for right now escape was the main goal for Jaleer, deactivating his lightsaber and holstering his pistol, the sage let the force empower him, making his muscles push harder, making his reflex's sharper, allowing the sage to run like he had never before. Rushing to the fallen hunter he quickly understands he was going to have to carry her if they wanted to escape.

Jaleer was in front of the hunter in a few moments as time for the sage seemed to slow down but not enough, if the race was to start now.

"Trust me." Was all Jaleer said, all he could say before he grabbed her by the leg and shoulder and lifting her up, even if she struggled she will feel the strength in Jaleers hands and muscles.

He was a older Jedi though he wasn't a muscle fighter he was raised in using a real sword which has given him a good body, hopefully she would trust him, and that was when the sage would just start running. Feeling the wind blow against his face was nice yet it did little to comfort him in worrying about the animals that might go after them in the next few moments. Which made it all the more important that Jaleer run with everything he had, an allow the force to truly guide his actions, heading straight for his ship which would be the safest place for the pair now.
