For too long the Twin Suns have been pox on the worlds of this sector. The Galactic Alliance is long dead, there is no fleet to keep our worlds safe from the pirates that call Tatooine home. No armada of interdictors keeping smugglers from undermining the economies of worlds, no armies to stop slavers from taking our loved ones, and no judicial system to sort the legal differences of our homes and deliver justice. If we are to stop those who would prey on our worlds we cannot simply sit by and hope that somebody will come along one and rectify the problem. We must take matters into our own hands if the safety and prosperity of our homeworlds are to be guaranteed.

If we do this not for ourselves, we do it for the people of Tatooine. People who live on one of the harshest worlds in the galaxy, made all the more harsh by those who exploit and trod upon them. For millenia the galaxy has simply sat by, while petty criminals and thugs take advantage of the hard working people that call Tatooine home. No more. No more will they be suppressed, no more will they be bought and sold like chattel, no more will they be slaughtered for the entertainment of the depraved. We will see the desert world turned into an oasis of civilization. For the safety of ourselves, for the freedom of it's inhabitants, and for the prosperity of all.

The path we walk to achieve this goal will be hard. Our enemies are numerous, and some of the most savage, and ruthless beings in the galaxy. They control empires of wealth and corruption and will seek to oppose us as we make inroads. The very planet itself will be an obstacle almost as great as them. But we have come far by forming this expedition and making landfall. The path ahead of us may be hard, but we will walk it to the end.

_Oliver Wellight, Commander TEF

k4Hnt14.png
Description
The Tatooine Expeditionary Force is a volunteer military group primarily comprised of beings from worlds in the Arkanis Sector, organized by Oliver Wellight to stamp out Tatooine as a haven for criminal activity. The TEF is an entirely independent force, without backing from any government, and thus only has limited access to funds and technology. It tends to make do with equipment that would be outdated on any other world, but is more than good enough for pushing back Tusken Raiders and criminals on Tatooine. The volunteer force is highly motivated, even if monetary gains for members tend to be limited, and experience is something that many have yet to gain. The focus of the TEF lies on the ground, and they operate a great deal of armor to strike out from their base of operations in the South Dune Sea.

Policies & Goals
The overarching goal of the TEF is the establishment of a United Tatooine Government. Recognizing that such a goal is currently a long way off, more immediate goals of the TEF include humanitarian aid, securing the support of the people, and clearing trade routes to their base of operations so as to remain sufficiently supplied should their numbers increase. Members of the TEF are expected to act in a civilized manner towards the civilians of Tatooine, not taking or stealing from them. Slavers, pirates, and Tuskens however cannot expect the same hospitality, and members of the TEF have a policy to shoot on identification of foes. Survivors who don't surrender will be shot again. In general the TEF is not very kind to the few prisoners it takes, recognizing that their enemies aren't going to obey any rules of war or abide by any conventions. Typically they will not outright kill anyone they take, preferring instead to dump them on dangerous, uninhabited worlds such as Vendaxa, or if possible recruit them to the TEF cause.

Recruitment
The TEF has very lax recruitment standards, and is willing to take pretty much anyone willing to volunteer to go to a hostile desert world for little to no pay. The primary form of recruitment is in Holonet advertising, and crowd source funding from the holonet is what gave the TEF the money it needed for the materiel it currently has. Contact with the TEF can usually be achieved via the holonet page FreeTatooine.rim which also includes applications to join, and a donation drive, allowing anyone in the galaxy to anonymously contribute to the group. Most recruits are either met offworld by a representative and typically picked up in groups, or in one of the other cities of Tatooine before being taken back to the main base. This is to ensure they are at least vetted so as not to let anyone in who would be more of a detriment that a welcome addition. The TEF also works hard to recruit from the native population of Tatooine, and at present the number of recruits the TEF receives is only enough to keep their numbers stable, neither growing nor shrinking.

aESd5bo.png

Ranks and Divisions
The TEF is a group with a military function, but with too few personnel to justify a significant amount of ranks. Volunteer, Officer, and Captain are the only real ranks in the TEF, and regardless one shouldn't expect a lot of "sirs" or military etiquette coming from the members of the largely volunteer force. The Volunteers are the bulk of the organization, and the skills they possess can vary wildly based on their background. Typically volunteers are new members, those that have only signed on on a part time basis, or serve in support roles. Officers are an integral part of the TEF, as they have proved themselves in the field and are responsible for leading missions, training new volunteers, and ensuring that at least a basic level of discipline is maintained. The Captains are the leaders of the different sections of the TEF and this handful of men and women are the very much the leaders of the entire TEF under Oliver Wellight.

Desert Krayts
EoBddsg.jpg

The Desert Krayts are the subsection of the TEF responsible for its speeders, tanks, half-tracks, and other ground craft. The Desert Krayt's response to any given problem is generally to shoot at it repeatedly and then run it over and shoot it some more. They often spearhead TEF offensives, escort convoys, and protect TEF holdings and allies. The men and women who make up the Desert Krayt's are typically equally skilled at engineering as they are at combat, and view trying to get across the desert in anything other then the tracked vehicles that are there trademark as insane.

Desert Rats
y9ROekd.jpg

The Desert Rats might not have the fancy armored vehicles of the Krayts but are perhaps an even more integral part of the Expedition. The Rats comprise the infantry, the air speeder pilots, and general service volunteers of the TEF. While in size it's about even with the Krayt's the Rats are seen more often outside of Mos Esther due to their more general purpose. They handle a wide range of assignments from protecting allies and affiliates of the TEF when needed, to flying transports in order to rescue TEF units that have been bogged down in the sand. The Rats also handle scouting and infiltration work, and prefer to work when it's cooler at night whenever possible.

Desert Comets
uVxXpRa.png

The Desert Comets comprise the minuscule space force of the TEF. It is tasked with defending the TEF from space threats, escorting the Adriana's Gift to its namesake planet to conduct ice mining operations, and to gather recruits from around the galaxy. As present it largely composed of light freighters, transports, and fighter craft, none of which are possessed in any great number. The Desert Comets are also typically the first force to come to the aid of any ally off Tatooine, carrying other portions of the TEF that can be spared to assist far flung friends.

Mos Esther
Base of Operations
The TEF makes its base in the ruins of Mos Esther in the South Dune Sea. Like many cities, Mos Esther was once a boom town, home to a bustling mining industry that attracted visitors and settlers from across the galaxy. And like so many of these cities, once the ore was discovered to be fundamentally unstable, it dried up. Unlike Mos Espa it didn't become a den of criminal activity, but was instead was simply abandoned as a ghost town in the desert. The TEF force which has recently moved in cannot occupy even a quarter of Mos Esther, and are mainly congregated in the the section of the city around the spaceport. One of the hopes of the TEF is that they might be able to restore and repopulate the city, and thus any under their protection or affiliated with them can find shelter in the ruins, and are free to do with them as they wish.

rYohDfr.jpg

Spaceport
The Mos Esther Spaceport is the area that has changed the most dramatically since the TEF has arrived. The most noticeable feature is the amount of greenery, that have sprung up in the shady, abandoned regions. Their appearance is largely the result of seeds that ended up in crates and other bits of cargo the TEF brought with it, and on any other planet might be considered invasive species, but as Tatooine has so little plantlife to begin with it, it hardly matters. They typically growing around the reactivated water pipes and power lines running through the spaceport, especially in the former terminals and waiting areas. Throughout the Spaceport one can find evidence of the TEF's presence. Many sections have been turned into ad hoc living quarters, and social areas. For the most part the spaceport is powered by a solar ionization reactor tied to a solar array nearby, and power is typically reserved only to areas being inhabited. Fusion Furnaces are also in place in most inhabited areas providing an emergency source of power should an extended sandstorm block sunlight for too long, or damage the array. TEF activity in the Spaceport tends to congregate at the front, facing the city where the main entrances and exits are. The Spaceport itself is located at the southern end of the city, and is the last major structure before the beginning of the mountain ridges further south.

Hangars
LXzA1Tc.jpg

Unlike Mos Eisley Spaceport which has its hangars diffused, the Mos Esther spaceport is a single entity, large enough to handle roughly 40 light freighter class ships at full operation. Currently however it can only handle as many ships as the TEF possesses. It is not marked as an active spaceport, and does not advertise itself as such, thus civilian traffic is zero, although affiliates of the TEF may land if they wish. While normally the individual hangars can handle only ships of a light freighter class, three (or rather six) have had the walls between them demolished by the TEF to allow it's larger transports to land. Three hangars have had the walls between them demolished to allow the Adriana's Gift to land, and additional piping has been installed to allow for the immediate transfer of water from the Gift upon its landing. Like most hangars on Tatooine, those at Mos Esther have a circular opening at their top to allow ships to land. Therefore those the TEF current occupies are kept covered by large sheets of durable sunshield fabric which run on a simple track system installed, and tied in with the TEF command center to allow them to be opened and closed with ease.

Maintenance Bays
hMjPOpp.jpg

The Maintenance Bays, are the sections on the outer wall of the Spaceport that open up both into the hangars, and into the city. These sections allow for vehicles and supplies to be rolled off ships, and straight into service. These large areas are used as the maintenance centers for the TEF's land vehicles, airspeeders, and starfighters, and as supply storage centers. Parts of larger vessels are often moved into these sections as well for repair and maintenance of them as well. Just like the starship hangars, only a handful of maintenance bays are actually active, and they are typically the ones flanking the main entrance to the spaceport, facing into the city.

Command Center
yGpejhG.jpg

While the Space/Air Traffic Control Center would be the ideal place to set up headquarters, the TEF does not currently have the manpower, access to computers, or need to refurbish it properly. Thus they instead make use of an old security center, retrofitted with modern computers and a holotable. The Command Center oversees all operations around the base, and acts primarily as a traffic control center, as well as the center for communications, issuing orders, and processing requests. The Command is tied into to all the sensors operated on the TEF base, as well as well several more mundane systems such as control for the solar array, and hangar roofs.

Mos Esther
Situated at the southernmost extreme of Tatooines habitable zone, Mos Esther sits at the dividing line between the South Dune Sea and a chain of mountains where the ore that made the city was once mined. Despite being so far south, in its heyday it rivaled other Tatooine cities such as Anchorhead and Mos Eisley. However its extreme position also meant that it was one of the first cities abandoned when the Tatooine mining industry collapsed. Beyond the Spaceport that serves as the hub for TEF activity, much of the city of Mos Esther remains abandoned, or are at the very least not continuously occupied. From homes, to shops, to civil buildings, the structures of the city serve as an eerie reminder of the populace that once called it home. As Mos Esther was abandoned slowly, and has been at the mercy of looters and passerby's for generations, little of value remains to show any signs that anyone actual lived in these buildings in the first place. It the hope of the TEF that they might one day restore, and even expand Mos Esther to serve as a new center for commerce and law on Tatooine but such hopes are a long way off. As of now the highest population in the city belongs to the Womp Rats, and Profogg's. Some sections of the city still remain buried under layers of sand and dirt, but the initial efforts of the TEF have uncovered the vast majority of the city. The city itself is no more than few kilometers large, and wouldn't even come close to constituting an actual city on more densely populated worlds.

Commercial District
DdBUy2T.jpg

Located closer to the Spaceport, Mos Esther's commercial district features more architecture that would be considered out of place on Tatooine than any other section of the city. This is partly because it was meant to accommodate off worlders, attract business, and was generally home to the richer inhabitants of the city. In the past this section included the most shops, hotels, cantinas, and entertainment avenues in the city, serving as the home for the vibrant nightlife. It was also home to most of the warehouses for storing goods coming and going out of the Spaceport. Nowadays all these structures serve to allow members of the TEF to room themselves conveniently close but away from the spaceport. Members of the TEF who prefer the privacy can restore them to habitable status, and either powered by a fusion furnace, solar panels on the roof, or tied in with the Spaceport's power system if they're close enough. The typical diet of a TEF member consists of ration packs, and vaporator mushrooms. Not the most inspiring of meals, but members of the TEF also largely don't have to worry about drinking water thanks to their large reserve, and holonet receivers and transmitters at the spaceport allow members access to vast source of entertainment in their downtime, as the ghost town that is Mos Esther offers little in the way of a social scene these days.

Solar Array
szoN2v6.jpg

The large Solar Array, located in a flat area to the west of the spaceport and south of the Commercial district takes advantage of one of Tatooines greatest resources; sunlight. The cheap solar panels are easy for the TEF to maintain and acquire when power requirements increase. At present the solar array allows the TEF to provide power to all its facilities, and to a tall electric fence around the array which keeps unwanted critters out. Most of the energy collected by the Solar Array is fed into the solar ionization reactor in the sub-levels of the spaceport, which also allows excess power to be stored for use overnight.

Water Storage
3p7DUWq.jpg

Located in a structure adjacent to the spaceport, the massive underground water storage facility houses the liquid gold mined by the TEF's corvette, Adriana's Gift in the rings of Adriana. This water supply is the greatest bargaining chip in the TEF's possession allowing them to trade it for whatever supplies they need. Not to mention it ensures that all TEF members can enjoy a nice cool shower whenever they please, although it is recommended that frivolous water use remain at a minimum. Built around the Storage Facility are 12 moisture vaporators adding to the supply, and vaporator mushroom's grow along the pipes and in the shade. Massive pipes lead to the spaceport for the transfer of water from the Adriana's Gift and also to vehicles for the TEF to transport the water across the desert.

Civil District
FiUQfch.jpg

Squeezed between the Commercial District, and the Residential District, the Civil District was where the truly privileged live, and was the smallest of the three major districts in Mos Esther. In the past it was home to both the buildings that housed the government, the near palatial estates of stone and other materiel of the well to do and privileged. Most of the structures were built to a high quality, and thus remain the most intact. The most notable of these structures still standing is the HelioFort. Built to serve as a defensive hub for the citizens of the city to flee to, in case of a Tusken Raid, the Heliofort is an imposing domed building, but hardly the largest compared to the spaceport, warehouses, and some other some civic buildings.

The Fort was not intended to be that different from an air raid shelter, where the cities denizens could gather in case of emergency. While Tusken Raiders were at the top of the priority for this, the most often use of the Fort was as shelter against a sandstorm that caught many citizens away from their homes. In the past it was stocked with provisions, and air filtration systems to outlast even the longest of sandstorms, but anything of value was stripped long ago. As the structure is really no more defensible than the spaceport, and further away from modes of transportation, the TEF have chosen not to occupy it at this time, but have marked it for future use as a possible storage facility. In terms of location it lies closer to the heart of the city and serves as the dividing point between the much larger Commercial and Residential Districts.

The Esther Theater
eY26Z2v.jpg

The Esther Theater is large outdoor amphitheater located between the Civil District closer to the Commercial side, and also conveniently close to the abandoned structures of a few cantinas. Most performances in the past usually took place after the sun went down, and the Esther Theater served as an area for free, public, entertainment in an age when holonet transceivers might not have been as widespread as they are in modern times. Everything from live performances, to holovids shown with a massive projection system could be found at the theater, and with it's primarily stone construction and simple design it remains one of the most intact structures of the city. For the TEF it's occasionally used for social gatherings, especially for those heading to and from patrols on the city outskirts, but nothing more at the moment.

Residential District
YUFvxVZ.jpg

Located on the northern side of the city, the Residential District is where most of the permanent population lived, and where most of the cities ore processing plants were located. The latter are all but gone, stripped to the bone by Jawas and other scavengers for their metals and mechanical parts, leaving only a few walls behind. As Mos Esther was primarily a mining town, most of the residential structures were no more than hastily constructed buildings that didn't stand up very well to the tests of time once abandoned. Virtually all of these structures have been stripped bare of anything that wasn't nailed to the floor as well, and in some cases even the floor is missing if it was made of anything lighter than stone. A few pots and pans are about the only valuables one can reasonably expect to find in the city. Some members of the TEF have refurbished some of the structures further away from the spaceport for their own personal use, though many prefer the structures closer to the spaceport even if most weren't intended to be someone's home.

8e36jsG.jpg

South Dune Sea
When mentioned in conversation with other settlers of Tatooine, words and phrases like "why bother?" and "**** that" are the ones most often used in conjunction with the South Dune Sea. Located at the southernmost extreme of the habitable section of Tatooine's northern hemisphere, even by local standards the South Dune Sea is hot and desolate. Not since the mining boom has there been any real habitation of the region save for the native Jawa, their Tusken Raider cousins. The region is not well traveled, and is home to a variety of dangerous wildlife, long forgotten structures, and criminals even too depraved for the more densely populated regions of Tatooine.

eXwdaTo.png

Defenses
The TEF's defenses of its home base are rather light, and not a great deal of effort is put into making sure they stay in charge of this particular piece of real estate. Rather instead most of its defenses are designed to deter potential Tusken raids, the wildlife, and smaller groups dumb enough to think they can take on the TEF. Against larger, dedicated assaults the priority isn't making sure that the TEF stays in charge of Mos Esther, but rather that it can get away, and live to fight another day. Being out the in middle of nowhere makes seeing a large attack coming easier, and it's not hard for the bulk of the TEF stationed in the Spaceport to scatter out into the desert, or take off and leave Tatooine altogether. From there the TEF can regroup and attempt landfall in another location, beginning operations anew.
Sensors
PND2XXM.jpg

Sensors form the bulk of Mos Esther's defenses, detecting an incoming attack before it arrives, and allowing TEF defenders to concentrate in the area where an enemy is incoming. In order to distinguish friend from foe, the TEF uses a form of SureSnoop tags on all its vehicles and starships. Unlike the standard tags which only have a limited battery life, the TEF variants are typically plugged into the power source of the vehicle or starship ensuring that they stay on as long as the ship/vehicle it's tied to does. Affiliate, allied, and individual ships/vehicles that wish to land at the TEF base must have a snoop tag installed by the TEF before they are allowed to visit. As the tags only have a range of 5 kilometers, they cannot be used to actually snoop on the activities of the ship or vehicle outside the area around Mos Esther. Only tags installed by the TEF are tied into the TEF's SureSnoop system, and the tags are often left in the open for easy removal should someone wish to do so when conducting operations away from the TEF.

Other long range detection sensors include a dedicated energy receptor, full-spectrum transceiver, and good old fashioned radar. All these different sensor inputs are monitored from a command center in the spaceport. Arranged along the perimeter of Mos Esther, in between watch posts there are repulsorfield trips at the entrances to the streets big enough for speederbikes. The trips can detect a ground craft that uses a repulsor field that goes over them, and as the TEF relies on tracked, or wheeled vehicles for most of its operations, this provides a reliable way to detect an intruder without their own vehicles setting it off. When set off the trip produces a loud screeching noise, alerting the nearby watch posts who can then call it in to the command center while they investigate.

Watch Posts
NzFaTrK.jpg

Arrayed around the perimeter of Mos Esther, and the Solar Array are 18 small watch posts which keep a physical eye on anything approaching, and have an E-Web heavy repeating blaster in addition to the weaponry carried by those manning the post. A comm system, a pair of electrobinoculars, and a fusion furnace for power and heat during the nights are all included in each one. The E-WEB cannot simply be recharged with the furnace, and relies on being loaded with powercells of 200 bolts each. The Post is surrounded by sandbags, and has a shade structure to keep occupants out of direct sunlight. Watch Posts are typically manned by 4 beings, two of which will stay at the post for the duration of their shift, while the other pair rotate between the posts, patrolling between them every half hour for the duration of their shift. All personnel stationed in Mos Esther, from the Commander of the TEF on down take on shifts, ensuring no one is forever stuck on watch duty.

Land
The TEF currently does not possess any land other than that in the Mos Esther area. The TEF has no associated settlements, towns, or cities that fall under its protection, or any allies on Tatooine whose land is available to them for use. The TEF also has no offworld territory or holdings at this time. It's operational range stretches that of the entire dune sea, but for the most part the Expedition remains in the South Dune Sea, except to escort convoys as new trade routes are forged through the desert.

BE098dK.png

Credits
The TEF has 2 million credits it can spend. Most of the money the TEF receives is only enough to cover the expeditions expenses, thus this reserve of credits will is not growing at present, but will not decline either unless the TEF chooses to spend it.

It currently gains 0 credits from trade and commerce on Tatooine.

It currently gains 0 credits as result of deals with other Factions

f4Mz2io.jpg

Affiliates
The TEF currently has no other factions allied, or affiliated with it in any way. As an organization with independent backing, and crowd source funding it has no ties to any major governments or powers in the galaxy, and is quite isolated from most of them as well.

A native of Tatooine is currently associated with, but not a member of the Expedition. The exact nature of her relationship with the TEF has yet to be established fully.

psvMk75.png

Starships
The TEF has only a small number of starships in its possession, most of which are outdated by current standards, but more than good enough for the service with the expedition. Most of the ships the TEF does possess are transports, further limiting its ability to conduct military operations outside of the atmosphere of Tatooine, but ensuring that they can always be resupplied or even evacuated should the need arise. The number of craft used by the TEF does include the personal starships or vehicles of its members.

Kihraxz Light Fighter
Lad0BwG.jpg

-Profile-
The venerable Kihraxz fighter from TransGalMeg is the workhorse of the TEF. The light fightercraft is quick, and easy to maintain but not very well armed or armored. It is primarily used in the role of an interceptor and escort fighter, keeping other fightercraft away from TEF assets. The TEF currently has only 16 of these fighters in its possession, and only 12 are typically operation round the clock. 6 will often patrol the area above Mos Esther, while another 6 escort the Adriana's Gift, and the remaining 4 fighters will remain in reserve at the spaceport.

XS Light Freighter
8CpAMRU.jpg

-Profile-
The blocky XS light freighter is the TEF's preferred ship for making small cargo runs, picking up recruits, and supporting personnel on distant missions. It's combination of size, speed, and firepower make it ideal for getting in and out of trouble spots that the TEF's larger vessels wouldn't be to. The TEF possesses 4 of these freighters, all of which are typically docked at the Mos Esther spaceport, ready and at the disposal for use by TEF personnel.

GR-75 Medium Transport
TgaB7Dm.jpg

-Profile-
While rather maintenance intensive, the vast cargo space, and rock bottom price of the GR-75 makes it a welcome addition to the TEF fleet. Used for larger hauls than the light freighters in the groups possession, the GR-75 is often the go to ship for supply runs, cargo drops, and large portions of the TEF across great distances. The Expedition possess 2 GR-75's which are fully operational, and a disassembled third from which spare parts are taken to keep the other two in active service. On supply runs into dangerous areas they will often be escorted by a pair of the TEF's reserve fighters, and possibly a light freighter.

Adriana's Gift
WKesJvK.jpg

-Tech Profile-
The Adriana's Gift is a corvette sized mining vessel, and the only capital ship owned by the TEF. Its primary purpose is the mining of ice from the rings of the gas giant Adriana in the outer regions of the Tatoo system. While slow, Adriana's Gift is well armed, able to use its mining equipment as weapons, adding to its level of firepower. The ship typically stays in the Tatoo system, traversing between Mos Esther on Tatooine, and mining sites in orbit of Adriana. The ice mined is melted into liquid H2O and transferred to the water storage facility for distribution elsewhere, providing the TEF with a stable income. It is typically accompanied by 6 of the Kihraxz Fighters in the TEF's possession as well.

oaPrY85.jpg

Airspeeders
The airspeeders possessed by the TEF are intended to act in a support role of the armor, and infantry deployed by the expedition. At present it does not possess many combat aircraft, but instead more utilitarian designs that can hold up well in the sandy, hot conditions of Tatooine and operate efficiently to boot.

Dewback Heavy Transport
1iGbInl.jpg

-Tech Profile-
The Dewback Transport isn't armed, or especially fast, but is armored and endlessly reliable. No matter what hits it, it just keeps going. It's incredibly durable and simple design allow it to fly through adverse weather conditions that would ground other airspeeders, allowing members of the TEF trapped with a sandstorm incoming to get a ride out of the area. It's key strength however are the magnetic clamps on its underside which allow it to pick up even the heaviest vehicle in the TEF's inventory, allowing the Expedition to easily move those that become stuck. The TEF currently possesses 12 Dewback Heavy Transports.

Sandstorm Gunship
DUai2Ql.jpg

-Tech Profile-
The Sandstorm Gunship is the polar opposite of the Dewback; armed and quick but not well armored or able to carry heavy loads. The Sandstorm is intended to support TEF that need a little more firepower brought to the party and can quickly respond to calls for assistance. While not especially stealthy, the sandstorm also makes for a decent scout platform, and soften up targets before the ground vehicles move in. The Expedition currently possesses 6 Sandstorm Gunships.

DiCkInV.jpg

Ground Vehicles
In its deployment of ground vehicles, the TEF takes its queues from the Sandcrawlers of the Jawa. The massive moving mountains of metal are able to traverse the terrain of Tatooine so effectively thanks to their treads. The sandy environment makes travelling using walkers or wheeled vehicles a risky business, and repuslorlifts are prone to malfunction when a sandstorm kicks up which can strand personnel for days. As result most, if not all, of the vehcles used by the the TEF are half tracked, or fully tracked allowing them to cross the desert that surrounds Mos Esther with relative ease.

The T4-B may be a relic from a bygone era, unsuited for frontline combat on the modern battlefield, bu that doesn't make it useless. For groups such as the TEF it represents a cheap way to bring more firepower to the field. It might not be the fastest vehicle ever made but with a pair of firelinked medium laser cannons, and a trio of concussion missile launchers it can easily eliminate any target that it can catch. The T4-B is currently the heaviest tank in TEF service more than capable of dealing with the typical threats they face. The TEF is in possession of 12 T4-B's at present.

Rill Tank
QLiEvtr.png

-Tech Profile-
The Rill is another older design, and a lighter, quicker tank than the T4-B. They are often easier for those new to armored warfare to learn how to handle, and are quite easy to maintain. With a single medium laser cannon, they don't have the firepower of the T4-B but can run circles around slower moving vehicles, especially in the dune sea environment. They have a reputation for being to stay quite cool in the desert heat and so can go for extended drives into the outback without having to worry about overheating. The TEF currently possesses 12 Rill Tanks.

Ronto Half Track
5JNjdv9.png

-Tech Profile-
The Ronto is the big mover of the TEF. Whenever it needs to transport a lot of something across the desert, the Ronto is the vehicle of choice. It can either be left with a flatbed, fitted with water tanks, or even mount a three barrel heavy ion cannon system. A small crane can also be mounted to the back allowing users to move heavier cargo on and off with ease, and help other vehicles that become stuck. Currently the TEF possesses 16 Ronto's.

Sand-rat Half Track
C4Z02ZR.png

-Tech Profile-
The Sand-rat is a lethal combination of cost-effectiveness, speed, and firepower. It's simply a civilian half-track design, onto which a rapid fire-quad barrel blaster cannon turret has been mounted. The Sand-rat makes for an exceptional raider, able to strike hard and fast before retreating back into the desert. The quad-barrel blaster cannon is intended for anti-air duties, but is equally effective against targets on the ground. The TEF currently possesses 30 Sand-rats making it the most numerous vehicle in the expeditions arsenal as well.

WPOz0e3.jpg

Equipment
By and large members of the TEF are encouraged to outfit themselves with whatever individual pieces of gear they can afford or have in their possession. The Expeditionary Force isn't a rich outfit, and doesn't have the funding to provide the best in weapons and armor to its members. It does however have a few of the more common, or outdated pieces of equipment in its arsenal that are at the disposal for all members of the TEF to use.

Sedegar Blaster Rifle

-Profile-
The Sedegar Blaster Rifle is an old, but reliable model that's quite easy for those who have never held a blaster rifle in their life. The bolts it fires might be a touch underpowered compared to the latest models, but the Sedegar makes up for this in accuracy and ammo capacity. The scope uses technology similar to that found in macrobinoculars and is perhaps the only part of the Sedegar that even comes close to the word complex.

Drumbeat Sonic Pistol
ObwR25z.png

-Tech Profile-
The Drumbeat Sonic Pistol is used by the TEF because some creatures native to Tatooine just aren't phased by blaserfire and bullets the way they should be. Where more traditional weapons fail, the Drumbeat offers an ear shattering solution. Due to the nature of Sonic weaponry a pair of earplugs with built comlinks are attached to the back of the pistol for the wielder to use in order to avoid damage to their own eardrums.

Starbreaker Scatter Gun

-Tech Profile-
The Starbreaker is a versatile, and widely available scatter gun design employed by the TEF. The key strength of the Starbreaker in the Expeditions service is its ability to fulfill a wide variety of roles without having to purchase multiple weapons. It can be used from shooting womp rats that a little too close, to punching through doors, and incinerating anything that doesn't duck when it's pointed at it.

Promotions
As Indie Factions are inevitably smaller, and generally have less activity than main factions, the requirements for promotion are laxer to match this. To go from Volunteer to Officer requires completion of only one mission, and generally being active within the faction. You'll notice there are probably fewer missions than you'll find elsewhere here, because I don't believe in busy work. Each mission maters, and your participation matters, so it factors into your promotions that much more. The mission must be completed however, simply saying it's in progress, even if you're near the end will not count. At this time Captain's are an NPC only rank, however if/as the TEF grows and more new divisions are created expect this to change!
