Before we can move on to start securing population centers, and vital areas of the planet, we must first secure the region around Mos Esther. The main goals are to drive Tusken Raiders away, establish relations with any Jawa's in the region, explore the South Dune Sea for possible fallback points, and establish trade routes to other parts of the Dune Sea

Don't Get In Our Way
Trina Toren said:
First things first, we need to start opening trade routes between Mos Esther and other cities. Wayfar's no bigger than a womp rat, but it'll have things we might need, and we can use our water supply as currency there or even exchange it for credits. Plus it's not as far as some of the bigger settlements, and the trade should do the place good, even if its just us going up there. The problem is no one's told the Tusken's that getting in our way is very bad idea. Go along with the convoy, and make sure they figure that out when they try raiding it. Expect multiple ambushes, especially if you let any get away. And for kriff's sake, don't lose any vehicles!

Finding Shade
Pierce Serensar said:
Alright ladies, and gents! Scouts have reported back that there's an old dig site not fifty kilometers from away. It's a bit sandy -obviously- but it might make for a nice fall back point, or an emergency supply storage facility, or whatever else we might need. I need a few people to go take a look inside and let us know if there's anything really dangerous in there before we send a larger team in to secure the area. Also the scouts said they saw signs that a krayt dragon, or some other big critter is calling that place home. So uhhh have fun, evict any critters, and try not to get killed!

A recon flight just reported that a group of about 20 to 30 Tusken Raiders with a herd of Bantha's are passing by a little too close to our space. I don't know if you know anything about Tusken's, and frankly I don't care. I grew up here, and I know first hand that they've earned the 'raider' part of the name. Give them a taste of their medicine. Be careful though, we might have firepower on our side, but the Tuskens know the desert better than we ever will, and they're probably using cyclers. Also if you can, try to bring as much of the herd as possible back this way. Bantha steaks are good eatin' and I'm sure we're all tired of field rations and mushrooms.

One of our fighters just spotted a probable slave ship touching down at a base in the South Dune Sea. It doesn't look like they're affiliated with any of the big groups, or they'd be going for a city rather than out in the middle of nowhere. Given the size of the structure we can see it looks like they're holding anywhere from 20 to 50 slaves, and probably have half that number of guards. Assault the base, and try to free as many slaves as possible. And definitely make sure these guys are out of commission permanently.

Common Ground

If we're going to survive out here, we're going to need all the friends we can get. A pair of Jawa Sandcrawler's have been spotted, a few dozen kilometers away, stopped in the middle of the desert. It appears as though they've either broken down or are engaged in one of their famous swap meets. Either way this presents an excellent opportunity for us to open a dialogue with them, and extend a hand of friendship. Take a truck with some water out to them and see if they're interested in trade or require assistance. And if you can try to get them to adjust their routes to pass closer to Mos Esther, and to spread word of this to the other clans. If don't speak their trade language be sure to bring a translator of some sort with you!

Bridge On The Canyon Lie
Trina Toren said:
Liar's Canyon is the only geographical feature of note that separates routes leading from Mos Esther to Anchorhead. It's very wide, very deep, and too long to make going around it convenient for any land transports. Fortunately there's a natural bridge formation that crosses the canyon, that's big enough and strong enough to handle even the heaviest vehicles we have. Unfortunately it's currently in the hands of bandits who are doing kriff knows what to any poor sod on a bantha that needs to cross. Seize it, drive out the bandits, and make sure we can get to work on our own outpost there.

The Thin Sand Line
Trina Toren said:
Since the days of the Galactic Civil War, the Sunfire Outpost has been intermittently inhabited by beings ranging from refuges, to criminals, to stormtroopers. Every time though the Tusken Raiders have shown up to attack the place, they must really hate it. A recent reconnaissance mission has shown that the Outpost is currently being used as a drug lab of some kind, and it also looks like a small group of Tusken's is moving for the kill. Let both groups know that the Sunfire is now TEF property.

Crimson Skies
Pierce Serenar said:
Y'know those balloons the Jawa use sometimes? Well some bandits got a similar idea. They're using this metal monstrosity, going around finding anything that looks valuable and then scooping it up with an extendable magnetic suction tube like the ones you see on a Sandcrawler. Shooting these bastards down would be doing everyone a favor, and look good for PR. Rumor has it there are between four and six escort fighters, so watch your back. You'll be outnumbered but the airship itself is unarmed, so all you gotta do is take out the escorts and then go in for the kill. Good luck!

Inglorious Well-To-Doer's
Pierce Serensar said:
The Lightspring used to be a really pretty place I hear, until someone a long time ago decided to use it for their own personal dumping ground. Ever since then everyone just throws crap away there, and the Jawa don't go near it 'cause of the Sand People. But for us, this place is a two for the price of one. We get scrap that we can use to keep our assets up to stuff or trade with the Jawa for what we need, and we get to restore some of Tatooine's natural beauty. Win-win. Watch out for any Tuskens or scavengers in the caves.

Hobart's Heroes
Ajay Orrakeer said:
Tatooine's economy collapsed because the magnetic properties of the ore mined made it fundamentally unstable. It's possible to overcome this instability ,but it's more expensive than the ore would ever be worth. So if we're ever going to get Tatooine up and running again, the best place to start would be by providing some legitimate income. A human scientist, Dr. Hobart has done research that might make it cost effective to process the ore. Unfortunately the last reports indicate that the good doctor was caught by a slaving ring while going to a conference on...whatever his exact field of study is, kriff if I remember. Odds are he's probably on Karazak now. We need to get to him before they sell him off to someone third party, and see if he'll help us. The fact that we're offering freedom should be a pretty good incentive.
