DESCRIPTION​

Named for a famous Gungan war hero, the Tarpals-class incorporates design philosophies from the Mon Calamari, and Naboo, while maintaining a distinctly Gungan flair. The ship's largest weapon, and key to its patrol duties, is a very large Booma launcher. The Booma's, like Ion Cannons will severely disrupt the functions of a ship it hits, disabling smaller ones completely with a good shot. Compared to an Ion Cannon equivalent, the Booma is less of an energy hog, and more likely to cause some physical damage as the result of the high heat. The gun has a high rate of fire, but is limited by ammunition capacity, and its firing arc.

The ship is also equipped with a number of dual light laser turrets for point and anti-starfighter purposes, but all in all the ship's armament is relatively light. The Tarpals makes up for this with a great rate of speed that allows it to catch up to most pirate or smuggling threats, and a very good shielding system. The ship is also well suited for general non-combat tasks that come up on patrols, such as assisting other starships, clearing debris, and detaining ships for inspecting cargo.

The ship is capable of transitioning between space, atmosphere, and underwater almost seamlessly. The hyperdrive isn't particularly fast, as the Tarpals is meant for system patrol, as opposed to sector, and it doesn't have a lot of consumables for such ventures either.
