He's a Hugger!
Tannen has always been a curious type of Mandalorian. Overflowing with love and brutality in equal measure, his name carries a reputation unlike any other. His zeal for life is unmatched, and he savories every relationship, be it brother, or enemy. He has no shame in expressing his emotions, which are as large as he is, and is the rare Mandalorian who isn't afraid to cry. Someone tried to belittle him for it once. It hasn't happened since.
His passionate enthusiasm is not always a boon. Tannen has been married 4 times. The longest was his third, who died in battle,e but the other three (two husbands and a wife) ended very painfully, and often featured infidelity. As with most hearts that burn so hot, it requires more fuel than most. Sometimes this is battle, sometimes teaching, or lovers; and in the absence of all three, it can become alcohol and narcotics.
The oversoul, Manda guides Tannen through this life. Pride for who he is, and where he comes from pumps the blood in his veins, and respect for his people is tantamount. Most people he meets are casually referred to as honey, dear, sweatheart, etc......and his students and closest loved one usually earn a nickname that will NEVER go away. Yeah, he's that guy too.
Improbably as it may seem, Tannen was the runt of the litter.
Clan Bralor once claimed among it's ranks a family of giants. Simply human's in truth, but very large stock, and ferociously Mandalorian. Yusef, and his wife Hilde had a reputation for living up to the expectation of their size; crushing skulls, and rending limbs to the cheers of their diminutive peers. They had three children, and they raised each to earn the same admiration of their clan. Their was pride, and love in what they taught, but when thy were not strong enough, it often came wrapped in a fist. They knew no other way.
Tannen was the youngest, and unfortunately the smallest of his siblings. The baby bear. The impressive brute strength that favored him in any other fight meant nothing at home, and home felt like all that mattered. So as Tannen grew older, he learned other ways to be a warrior, every way to be a warrior. It would be wrong to say their was not great joy in this family, but when pride finally won out, that would never be found again That day came when Tannen was a young man, already tested on the battlefield. His parents & siblings, Reemus and Sheela found an enemy that brute strength could not conquer. Tannen was triumphant, and while the clan celebrated him, Reemus burned with envy. Setting out to remind everyone that he was stronger than "Baby Bear" he challenged his brother to solo combat. It began innocently, traditional, honorable, but with each blow he took Reemus' rage grew, until finally he crossed a line, and Tannen arrogantly answered him. It was over Reemus' corpse that Tannen learned the real cost of disguising love with violence. Never again.
Baby Bear Bralor was still a true Mandalorian, and he loved with more enthusiasm than most had ever seen. In his 20's he came to be recognized as one of the most magnificent warriors to be seen. It is always a gift to observe and artist practice their craft, especially so when they radiate the sort of joy that Tannen did. Those who heard his battle cry report it to be impossible to discern from a barbarians roar, and a child's laughter. It was whispered he could bring about the return of the Mand'alor....but that was not his place. Tannen did not have a will to be followed, instead he discovered a will to teach. Of those Mandalorians still loyal to the old ways, he was proclaimed Battle master, a position he served for over a dozen years. As he discovered his heart by cultivating combat to best express his joy, he imparted as much to many generations of now adult Mandalorian heroes, including no fewer than 3 Mand'alors, and the former leader of The Chosen (whom he occasionally served as a member).
As a silver fox of 51, the time tested Tannen, is still in as good a shape as he has ever been, if a bit wiser for wear. With the recent reclamation of Mandalore, what pain he did carry has been cleansed, and his spirit rejuvenated. He may have disapproved of the means, but thanks to one of his own Mand'alor pupils, the world he loved was free, and her destiny was theirs to forge. This, Tannen is convinced, is what he was born for.
Tannen has been a protector for a long time. He has seen the order fade, and triumphantly return, and still retains a foremost position in their ranks.
The oversoul, Manda, guides his hand as a teacher. He is a master of many forms, styles, and weapons, but what he is best known for is bringing out the unique quality of his students, encouraging them to express themselves through combat. When student finds their "partners" (preferred weapon) he always throws a ritual celebration to honor the bond. Eclectic for certain, but with 3 Mand'alors to his training record, it speaks for itself.
For several generations he has been recognized as one of the best teachers and clan has to offer. During times of peace and in recent years, he is often sought out privately by clans and families to enlist his tutelage. His lives for his pupils, and loves them like his own children; which is ironic considering the relationship he has with his actual children.

Tannen Bralor owns a humble 90 acre estate on Mandalore, surounded by forest and a large lake. He maintains a small vegetable garden, grows his own t'bacc leaf, has one large barn for livestock, and another for hobby projects. As one might imagine, he likes to entertain.
2 full acres of his land are a dedicated battle circle, dug into the earth and prepared in the traditional Mandalorian style. Adjacent is a training area, with severely marked up trees and a clearing that has obviously been used for the reckless uses of explosives.
